Anyone know if you can tighten up the foot brake, maybe enough to lock the rear wheels??

IF you tighten it to much it will get hung-up on your wheel. In the future I will try to fit the 2000 model's foot brake on my 99. The 2000 models have hydralic foot brakes, like Polaris.

Robert, are you meaning that the brakes will be so tight that they are more or less engaged without pushing the brake or are you meaning that the end of the brake cable will stick out so far that it gets in the little holes in the middle of the wheel? I tightened mine up some tonight, but not so much that they applied any pressure to the brake already. Beats the hell out of drum brakes even if it does suck. My honda either has the brake too loose or so tight that it puts pressure on the drums all the time. Honda needs to figure out that discs are superior.

After you step on the foot brake it will get hung-up on the wheel. This is what I read in my owners manual and this is what ITP says.
