From my experience with both quads I think in a "drag race" it would come down to the riders jump off the line. And thats a stock yfz against a stock Cannibal. But take my race yfz that I have now and the race Cannondale I had, I would have to give the edge to my Cannondale in a drag race. As far a mx track though I like my yfz better. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the kind remark about a quad you know nothing about.
Now as to the question at hand. It will come down to rider. End of story. Whoever gets the hole shot will probably keep it. This is of course on a flat road. Now if you want to race up Sand Mountain NV. Cannondale/ATK all the way.
As far as I know everyones claim to be stock, may not be.

It would appear that you have some information but it is not 100% accurate. Cannondale and ATK have the same motor. ATK only balanced the cranks and started paying attention to assembly quality. They use a different Hex code from Optima for the software. As far as all the updates that ATK has done, most of the cures where from people like Haydug Cycles, Big Winky and a few others. They also are doing the Cannondale Factory Updates that are needed. The end result is a Cannondale with ATK stickers. Not bagging ATK for stepping up, but they didn't cure cancer.
YFZ are fast but they can be beat. Look at Sandgods picture and video it shows a Cannondale going to the top of Sand Mountain, NV. Not an YFZ.

You need to learn a little more my friend ATKs ARE Cannondales. I have one of each. and I can tell you the only differences are the hex code in the ECU and the atk uses a 450 piston while the Cannondale has a 432 piston. It doesn't make a huge difference in the power between the two.

1. Doug Gust's zuki is no way even close to being a "stock" quad with just an exhaust. and you should have seen Farrs honda pull away on the straits at Budds Creek. gust couldn't get around him.
2. I've raced plenty of stock w/pipe yammis with my stock ATK and still haven't been beaten in a drag race.
3. z400's are not fast unless you dump money into a 450 kit and the four or five that I've riden did not impress me one bit.
4. ALL CAPS is yelling when you post on a forum keep it down already.

Like I said Doug Gust wasn't riding a slower quad. The motor that he has in his machine is a full race motor that yosh put together and last year when he was toasting the competition everyone was still figureing out how to get more power out of the yammi and honda.

I have beaten YFZ450's with K&N filters, cam mod, GYTR Jet Kits, air filter box lid off. My Cannondale is bone stock except for the UNI air filter and moto exhaust. Of course different map, but thats it.
The Cannondale by far is the most impressive quad I have ever owned, ride, over all power, suspension.

Since you say you have owned a Cannondale I have two questions for you. 1) Did you own a D&M Kit? 2) Did you fine tune the fuel settings?
If you answered no to either of those questions then you don't have a clue of how fast a Cannondale can really get.

Which Cannondale are you refering to? Motos and blazes have more ponies than a stock yfz but the yfz has a few more than a cannibal,speed,glamis. There are maps out there that can make a stock dale engine beat even a modded yfz. Of course it will be reving near 12,000 rpm . All 02 and 03 Dales have the same engine but the fx400's and early cannibals have hotter cams,and higher compression pistons . Ive seen dyno sheets of the fx400 at 42 hp with just fine tuning with no internal mods.
Then you put a 450 kit in them or a stroker crank or both with a little porting then its a whole new level of power.

i am saying that cannondales and atks are the same. atk bought cannondale whe they went out in 2003 and then came along to produe their atk's with minor upgrades from the cannondales.

the 06 has needed internal changes, however it does not weigh less.well technically it does by small frctions of pounds but it is still 350 dry.

Wut would win stock.. my friends has a yfz and been killing everything in town, from a 400ex all done up to a raptor 660 with big bore kit and everything. and his yfz is stock. just wanna kno how it would do up to a cannondale

atks are the 3rd generation of cannondale i believe after dinli bought the rights to produce them. and atk has made huge inprovements to the crank and the top end and made it a pretty fine machine. so dont take it the wrong way what i said about cannondale but it was atk that prefected the machine. but only after they got a bad rap. so a cannondale with atk updates is a cannondale in conception but you can expect a lot more from an atk than a cannondale.

i say u get a cannondale put like a grand into it and u will beat almost every good quad in a race because they think they only need a pipe and jets to be the fastest thing out there. my frends got the cannon when they werent out of buisness got sponsered and then got like 20 grand in parts into his cannon and didnt pay a cent now its the fastest quad around it beat 250r's bored to a 310 on a drag or mx track kills yfz that are said to be"race readdy". he broke his back on that thing tho so becarefull with their power. Now that babys mine! haha i paid 5 grand for everything so u can get some cheap ones if u know where to look!

i think the yfz definitely has the edge, I remember reading in a dirt wheels magazine or something like that that the predator 500 is faster than the cannibal, and the top yamaha sport quads beat the preddy so im guessing the yfz would win!

a while back my friend raced his cannondale cannibal 440 against an older model yfz the yfz was stock all around and know it for a fact and the cannibal only has an hmf exhuast. From what I observed from the race, the better rider or whoever gets off the line quicker will win. But it was a very close race all through the gears and they were racing on flat land in sand.
