Wade isn't really gonna do motors for awhile. He has many many many 450 kits to get out the door to ATK and Champion and says the honing takes most of his time.. A well known dealer back east could be possibly offering some new services in the near future.. How much is a FDO head and who does them?? Is it an exchange for your head??? Since my titanium valve issue has been resolved my motor has been rock solid.. Only three motors had titanium valve issues. Wade has since found the casue and remedied the problem.. SB is still gonna have some titanium valve problems and a certain person should be in jail shortly for a long time..

Very informative thread here.I gotta say that sadly I agree with all of of it.I have seen some improvements lately though but as a group we have major problems.Still hopeful though.

Go over to cannondaler.com and look up his name there have been more then a few people there that has had problems with his buisness practices. one guy had to threaten to sue him and had to bash him on the forums over there to get a responce out of him. We are still waiting on the results to see if Wade actully is going to get his money back to him. At least two other guys that had Wade do thier cylinder heads have had them blow and he blamed Maz's map on it but other people with FDO ported heads are not having these problems and they are running Maz's maps in them.
So NO I would not recomend his work to any Cannondale owner!

FDO Racing did my head through haydug buuuuut we had to wait almost 5 months to get it backI've riden one with the porting done but my engine is not done yet ( waitng on an improved crank) but doug is having another vendor port some heads and he will be getting just as good or better results from this vendor.
Right now I've also heard of the wrist pins going out on the WWE pistons also!

All I'm trying to do is give some people more alternitiuves to help them out. There are a few builders and shops that can be trusted like Doug and The QS. These guys will go out of thier way to help out a dale owner and will back up thier products. I know these quads are not for the mecanicly chalenged and thats why the need to get out info on these types of fourms so new guys who need help don't get shafted and have to fight to get parts.

Honestly I would not recommend ANYONE buying a cannondale unless it is to look at. Their are too many people doing questionable work at best, fraud at worst on them. Some of the people are intelligent with great engineering and technical backgrounds but horrible buissnesmen. Some are just in way over their heads and shouldn't be in charge of their kids lemonade stand. Some are crusaders who don't want "the dream" to die but have no clue or $ to run a start-up buissnes. Some just can't wait to backstab and talk trash about their compitition. Many are just hobbists trying to pay for their own hobby by selling stuff. Spend some time reading up on all of the parts suppliers, performance shops and modifications and their should be enough information to scare off most people. From cranks, heads, wrist pins, pistons, maps, un-met parts orders, lack of keeping customers appraised of progress on work or parts...cannondale has it all! I have had first hand experince with many of the parties involved and unfourtunatly it has nearly all been less than acceptable to bad. At this time I really don't think they will ever be a viable alternitive to honsuzyamkawi...they are for someone who wants to tinker is competent mechanicly and feels they are lucky enough to never have a catastrophic failure. Sorry for the gloomy outlook but that's what I've seen.

If I were you I would look into an atk . It looks like they are taking the cannondale design to the next level of performance and reliability. If you go with a Cannon you should do the reliabilty updates first and when you feel you can handle the stock power there are several overbore kits and many pipes and fuel mods available with new ones coming out once in a while.

he's right.. u should make the updates first.. or buy the new atk-dale and its 450c.c already ( the stock is 432c.c ).. then u go to mod performance :-

My .02 I wouldn't trust wade with my 1957 zundapp engine or I hate to say ATK either since they swiped what little knowledge Wade has and which doesn't seem to be to good. I would have to believe Dustin when he said Wade wasn't doing the job, as there lead times when I was going to send my Cannibals engine to them were a joke DE1 and head port atleast10 to 12weeks no way(mjllonir has it now) , I sent them my Moto engine for the same thing 2months ago and it has been in the bike for a month aleady. As far as the Dustin going to jail bit for the shoving the guy down I don't know what your buddy Wade told you but I think he embelished it alittle bit, I bet he will get community service, do I think throw'n down some old dude is cool hell know that was a punk move if it went down that way.I think that there as been quite a bit of s..t talkin about SBM and some of it coming from another three letter company that buys knowledge from fired employees, which I think is a little shady....again just my .02 well maybe a little more than .02

Oh and I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone to Haydug Cycles he and his wife are very nice people to talk to oh ya and buy stuf from , if I was on the wrong side of the country I would have used them for engine build. And doug if you read this whats up with the nickname DEWEY?
