And there are certain Banshee's that would'nt learn much from that Maico 680 engine.

Green,

Do you have a Taz car?

Posted by: Trx440

Rotax is owned by Bombardier. ATK does still use Rotax but maybe this [using Maico] is that relationship's swan song?

That's probably not gonna happen. It has 85hp at the crank. A quad announcement is coming soon though. Lonestar built a frame for them back in December or so as the first prototype. Steve Mazalanik probably already knows. He's been in Utah for the last two weeks doing training and other things to get ATK familiar w/ C-Dales...

Cr's and Kx's usually go five yrs until a bore is needed.

its sposed to come out. the black widow its gonna be called. at least this was the talk a while back...

How well do those 700cc single cylinder 2 strokes hold up? I know that the CR500's and KX500's have a hard time staying together. I cant imagine a 700???

ATK does not own cannondales quads and dirtbikes. ATK bought all of the parts on hand from cannondale motorsport after ch. 11 liquidation.

According to conversations with Dinli today they are the sole owners of the former C-Dale motorsports. With exclusive rights of production, all drawings, designs, patents, tooling, molds and fixtures. They expect to have new "Dinli" Cannible, Speed, Moto and Blaze's at their dealers in 6-8 months.

Yeah they use rotax.

Does anyone know if ATK still has rights to Rotax motors. I would love to see a two stroke rotax in a atv.:cool

can I get a 340lb 700cc 2 stroke intimidator quad with EFI? Please? I'm sure I could fit it in the garage. or make room. There are certain banshees here that need an attitude adjustment.

Posted by: green700

Maybe your right, but our 700cc 2 stroke sled engine gets our rail around pretty good. It's well over 100hp. Why couldn't the intimidator put out some ponies?

Where Can I buy one of those

Posted by: thomez

That's 700cc to start with. You could probably get close to 1000ccs with a bore and stroke job, no? That would be one wicked machine - 1000ccs and running about 12.5:1 compression ratio. Yikes ... A 350-400lb bike with the power of a Civic+ .... yowzers.

Every serious duner, instead of putting 25k into a 'shee, theyd buy an ATK Intimidator 700, which would literally RULE the dunes. Im not saying that theyre gonna do it, but if theyre smart they will because theres a huge market for it.

Posted by: Atkins450

taz cars are fast but a quad weighs about 1/10th that so it will be hella faster. Imagine how fast that dirtbike is!

Posted by: Atkins450

it must not rev very high being a single 700

For all those inquiring about ATK 700cc quads.

The motors used in the ATK/Maico 620/685 are actually early '90s sidecarcross motors. The motor is a Zabel sidecarcross engine available in both 620 and 685. These motors were also raced in quad chassis such as the EML throughout Europe with much success. Zabel either sold the rights or designs to another manufacturer who produces them for ATK/Maico. Zabel won the World Sidecarcross Championship witha new version 700cc engine. I have raced both 620 and 685 engined sidecars and these are very very fun motors. I now have the True 700cc Zabel and am looking forward to its power. These motors are readily available new and used in the sidecarcross scene.
