im not far from you in long beach mississippi. my son ran a moto for a local dealer for about 8 months untill c-dale went belly up. he has a sparks built 440 ex now. we mx race all over louisiana and mississippi. you need to come check out some of our races. he is going to ride a gas gas 300 tomorrow at rock hill in carnes mississippi. the dealer is looking for riders so we are going to run the quad tomorrow and see how he likes it. we are hoping to run breaux bridge next weekend but are not sure if the ex will be out of the shop by then. if your interested in checking out any of the tracks let me know and i will get with you about it. later

I'm a dale owner and I'm getting the trx450r. I wouldn't put much stock in all the disappointed Honda fans shopping for atk's or dinli's or whatever they become.

I doubt I'll have 10-12k into the 450...6800 + 1k for pipe, cam, carb...and I'll have plenty of parts, dealer support and resale value. I have lots of honda parts on hand already just laying around. I already have 10k+ in a quad that isn't produced anymore that I could only sell for 3k why would I want another? Don't get me wrong I really liked the concept of the dale and was willing to take the risk. It still is the most advanced quad ever built. It was just a leap a little too far.

Oh and I'm keeping the dale.

I don't race anymore just ride sand...The wider arms etc. don't matter to me as far as handling hondas alway do that pretty well anyway. I probably will take the axis shocks off the dale and put the ohlins back on it and use them if needed and possible. Look at my pictures and maybe you will have a better idea of what I do. So I'm back to the $7500 figure. It really isn't a money issue it is a time issue to me. I only have so much free time in my life. I am tired of spending time trying to find parts and waiting for them to arrive. As I said earlier it is the convenience of honda's dealer and parts network. And the lack of c-dale's.

Yeah I'm on both cannondaler and cannondaleriders...I hope it gets better for all involved the last 6-8 months have really stunk! I really think it will improve with atk. Where do you go to college? Oh yeah watch it about my daughters!

Tulane congratulations good school! I don't know how I would have gotten any studying done! My daughters are both sophmores one at Cal the other Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I'm heading down to SLO to move her in saterday. Gonna try and hit Pismo after we get her settled. Have a great year at school! Have fun and do well!

Well.... if that is all you do, I guess then you will have about 7500 in it. But if you want wider A arms so you can handle, add about 700. Then you need some nice shocks to go with them, add a grand or more. Oh, then your rear needs to be the same width, add another 400 or so. You still need those other race goodies like number plate, kill switch, nerfs... So it would be easy to get at 10g to get that Honda race ready like the Moto starts (or is very close to). That is unless you have interchangable parts from another Honda in the garage, but that doesn't mean you put any less money into it. Not like you got that stuff for free to start with. JMHO. At least you're keeping the 'Dale

Oh yeah! I remember looking at your pics before! The guy that I bet had the cute California girl daughters

Please don't hurt me! ... lol BR>
I really understand where you are coming from. I'm sure in the recent past it was frustrating looking for Cdale parts. In the future I think that will be remidied quite a bit with the ATK deal taking over and the parts network coming back together. I'm just getting into this Cdale game and I probably don't understand that frustration that was involved 6 months ago.

If you decide to get the Honda, good luck with it. I'm sure it is a fine machine and will serve you well in the sand. But I wouldn't be scared of the Cdale quite yet. I think things are coming back together and it will be a lot easier soon. Have you been around the cannondaler.com or the cannondaleriders.com forums? Very informational and helpful, and those guys can get you anything you need and it seems as fast as you are willing to pay to ship it it can be there. Good luck. - Zack

Ok, Ok .. I'll behave about the daughters ... I promise!

I go to school at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Second year here, junior standing. I went to college 2 years early so I had 60 hours done when I graduated high school. Thats why the goofy junior standing for a 19 year old

I think that ATK is working hard to get things back to fairly normal for parts. That and a ton of people making a lot of aftermarket goodies... parts is why I got my bike so cheap, because I wasn't scared of availability once I found those sites. This Cannondale thing is a brotherhood and I'm happy to be a part of it.

Now, about those daughters? ... lol ... just kidding, just kidding...

Thanks, oldsandman. I do what I can

Have fun if you get to stop at Pismo. I'm jealous!

Wish those girls luck in school as well. As far as I know, both of those are quality schools as well. Cute girls with good heads on their shoulders ... ok, I'll behave.... again.
