..You can get an MSD pump i think it is from summitracing,..for 70 or so i think?..Go to cannonriders and do a surch..The one the cannons use i think is an intank pump,so the get hot and burn up,the MSD one is not and will last..

..intank pumps use the fuel around them to help keep them cool, cars that are always ran low,or out of fuel often, pumps dont last as long on them, cuzz theres no fuel to lube and help keep them cool...thomez how long did this pump last?? A lot of ppl have changed the Cannon's pump,i dont think ppl have changed that many in there cars, with 10x the hours on them..The MSD part# is msd-2225 tho you will have to reduse it to a 5/16 line.
..I have read in the past that yes the Cannon is a ranger pump, but not sure what year??..

The fuel pumps are lubed and cooled by the fuel flowing through them .

Hey guys,

I need the part # for the fuel pump. The one for the correct year Ford Ranger would be great, that is what I am looking for since it is the same thing and a lot cheaper than buying the Cdale pump. I have heard it was for an 89 Ranger, is that right? If so, 4 cyl or 6 ? Thanks for the info.

Found it! Here is the info for anyone else that wants it.

Napa #NPF-P74028

When I looked on their website they are $118

Good luck Cannondalers!

I have a problem with my Fuel Pump as well. A new one is $162-$228!!! I came across your comments and I tried to look for the Napa part# NPF-P74028 and I can not come up with anything. I did look up 89 Ford Ranger at Kragen and Autozone and they suggested a Master E2002 for only $79. It was the same pump wether it be a V6 or 4 banger. Is this the pump that I need? Is it indeed an 89 Ford Ranger. And if so have you had any problems with yours? Is it still working?
Thanks
