I did mine six months ago after about a year of riding and had one intake out by .001.
I was also told the shims where the same as Suzuki, so that's a plus. When I was at the factory last month they still had tons of shims left, you might be able to get a deal on a complete kit if you really wanted one.

Glad you liked them. I haven't been able to ride on them yet, stll waiting on my new arms.
I've got 8 or 9 sets left, sounds like alot, but it's really not considering a month ago I had 28 sets. Email me if you want another set.

The Cannondales have a big valveclearance range and all of them I have seen after a season were still within spec after a year.The intake valves are the ones that will be the closest to being out.
I too plan on going through mine this fall.I have heard that Suzuki shims are the same so that is nice since I dont have a shim kit and they are expensive.

After I purchased my speed I started searching these forums for helpful tips . I had 20 hours on my machine and after reading the horror stories about the tranny cartridge plate bolts I paniced and pulled the motor to do the update. The bolts were tight but I replaced them with studs anyway. I did not do the valve adjustment since it was a little early in the quads life for this. Now I have over (75hours)1400 miles on it and the adjustment should have been done already. I was planning on doing it in the break between the summer trail riding season and winter. I just want to know if anyone who has already adjusted thier valves has actually had them out of spec. Do I really have a reason to worry ? Can it wait a few months? I change my oil very often ( almost every ride)and use full synthetic . It runs and sounds great.

Great ,we should have a Dale get together party this fall and do stud updates and valve adjustments. A local shop might let me borrow thier shim kit if I need it. Ive got theD&M software for remapping and diagnostics if anyone needs it. I found that my valve cover was the magnesium one so I also had it powdercoated and am running Evans just for the extra protection.

Great , and Jaybr I really want to thank you for the moto shocks , reworked some +2 +1 asr arms to accept the long travels and they are awesome to say the least. Do you have any more shocks left ?
