The one for $3800 on ebay is relisted. It was originally $3500 buy it now price. I think the buy it now price went up to get higher bids. Seems like a good deal to me. I beleive the CDale will have a cult following.

I went thru 6 states last week on vacation and picked up a newspaper in most of the towns. I saw 2 moto's for sale for 4 grand and a couple of cannibles for 4000 and less and none over 4500. Do you think the prices will get below that?? One of the canabiles claimed it was brand new and zero hours for 4000 dollars. What is the lowest price you have seen?? Will you buy another one if you already have one because of the low price??

If i see a new one for 3000 it will be in my garage, i do not think they will be a collector item in the future due to the nature of the sport. Quads suffer a lot of cosmetic dame with just a few rides. In 30 years there may be 30 differnt quad manufactures out there. I have a 1985 honda250 fourtrax (utility) that will still sell for 1600 dollars. I paid 1550 for it brand new in 85

I don't know why people think these will be a collectors item. They're not like a car that everyone can use and drive around thus the appeal is more limited. Also these quads were made for what, 3 years max? They didn't have the impact on the sport like the 250R. That quad is still holding its value after 15 years. You can be sure that if you found a cherry '88 or '89 250R that had been stored for 15+ years it would easily go for $4000. I'd buy one for that price if it was all original. The Cannondales do not have the same or any mystic.
The prices for these quads will continue to drop with no end in sight. Especally when the general public, meaning Joe Average, becomes aware that the factory is out of business and that service and parts arn't available from a dealer.
The C-dale will be nothing more than an interesting footnote in history. 10-15 years from now people will be talking about the YFZ-450 and how it breathed new life into racing. Few if any will remember the C-dale.

I think once all the new ones are gone the prices will stabalize then start going up ever so gradually. This is the only true American quad that will probably ever be produced and it WILL be a COLLECTORS item. 30yrs from now people will be saying "Remember when C-Dale built a quad".............

i think the honda 400ex breathed life back into the sport quad market and the cdale will the most exotic sport quad for a long time to come. since all these new quads are going so cheap, i would suggest to every cdale owner to up grade to the hydraulic clutch, it is a must and will be worth every penny you pay for it. i'll be leaving soon to go to laretta lynns national soon, i wonder if the cdale will get the holeshots again this yeah? maybe some yzf450 will be there, i know tom miller bought one and is trying to get it ready in time.

$3000 is the lowest I have seen them used. There are a whole bunch of dealers with them sitting and they will be sending them to the liquidators soon this will cause the price to go down even more.I would think that $2000-2500 for a used one in running condition will be about as low as they will go.New I think $3500 is possible. Now if it is true Dinli bought them who knows what effect this will have.I will not buy another at this low of prices there will be a abundance of parts just from people parting them out if they break.

The transplant idea will cost you more to do than fixing your blown motor. What exactly is wrong with your motor?
Posted by: cannondale27
Yes that is not a problem. You will be up and running in no time!If the dealer is being a pain go to a race and ask around you will find a good mechanic. Here is a link to a guy who has started his own business supplying these parts if it isnt shown on site email him he has it.

They were told that it would cost $100,000,000 and four years just to develop the motor. They just didnt have that kind of money or that kind of time. They tried anyway. All we need is a American with the money to do it right. There are plenty of Americans with the money just dont know if anyone has the balls to take the japs on.If one does I will be ready to buy the minute they go on sale.

A guy I work with, bought one for $3500. It was the first year model in very good shape.

Collectors item or not. If you cvan get your hands on a aluminum framed, fuel injected, performance sport quad for that kind of coin. Its a he# of a deal. Those quads are fast and fun. I would buy one to if I had the opportunity.

I was at the mid ohio swap meet over the weekend and a guy there said he had the last 6 off the assembly line,2 black and 6 red he said he would take $3500 a piece for them brand new. He also had a ton of holeshots, forks, and said he was also selling all the ohlins shocks and gave me a flyer.

Its sad but what a great time to buy. It looks like the market will be flooded with cheap parts for the next few years so I guess this is a blessing for current owners. I was looking to buy and spare engine for about $2000 but I guess a complete in box running wheeler for the same price will have to do. Hopefully few will catch on that the aftermarket has allready made almost all parts available and the prices will continue to drop.

It's strange to the the most expensive quad ever now selling for 3k on ebay. The first time I saw one I figured the driver was a millionaire or something. It's soo sad they filed Ch. 11. The US needs to make a quad. I mean, they are all sold here. Why not design them here. Maybe if they skipped the MX bike, and sourced the engine. Now nobody will dare try to do what they did. It's all Japan from here. At least the Japanese are making new designs lately.
