Well if the bid doesn't reach 57 mil and some change, then Peagus will keep it, close the motorsports div. forever and more than likely start auctioning off machinery and parts.
It's just too good of a machine to let die...
I hope someone picks them up! I hope this isn't the end of Cannondale....I think the auction started at 10am...hopefully we'll hear something by tomorrow......

Most definately. And they only sold 5,000 +/- quads in two years. figure they make $2,000 a quad(maybe). That's only $5 mil a year, then after you pay your employee's, insurances, utilities, etc.....you got about $0.99 and some pocket lint. But, I'm still hopefull!

I hope it's only 12 for the motorsports. But the one boring machine I saw was around 4 million alone. I was told (again take this with a grain of salt) that the company who purchases the motorsports division can keep the "Cannondale" label for 3 years.
I'm still supporting Cannondale all the way!!!!

I disagree a little. I hope that it goes dirt cheap. If it does hopefully the new buyer will be able to get real agressive with the money they saved on the purchase price. I would not think the new owers would do anything for the old customers.

I think the new owners will make it work espically if they only give pennies on the dollar. Cannondale incur too much cost for the low volume. The new owners are in a win/win situation. Tommorow seems to be a crappy time to have a action. I would think the bids will be lower due to all the world conflict at the moment.

Unless a large company like polaris/artic cat/KTM wants it i do not see 57 millon. For 57 million a motorcycle company could produce a killer quad for sale.

I just wanted it to be known before the auction tomorrow that I will continue to support this machine and whatever company buys Cannondale Motorsports. This board and the others have been filled with problems and fears the last 2months and we haven't spent many words shouting about how awesome our C'dale machines really are. I love my 'dale, even with the problems i've had, and I'm very excited about new ownership and the evolution of this design. BID IT UP FELLAS! & Let's get back to talking about podiums! Build us a new, improved machine and I'm ready to buy a NEW 'Cannon!
Thanks!

You are right 14mins. I hope the price isn't too high. I just want bidders to know this project can succeed.

I agree. I will never regret having bought this bike. Pure excitement and the start of what WILL be a new trend in true ATV performance.

I'm along for the ride with my Cannondale!! I considered selling when the news first broke, but there just wasn't any single quad out there that would replace the technology and engineering the C'dale offers. I salute the engineers- you guys did a great job! I think a heavy push to get it on the market quickly cost us a little with some of the quirky little problems, but it's worth dealing with those to keep the 'dale in my garage. I know people see the potential of the quad, I just hope somebody steps up to keep it going.
Also, I think I read C'dale was split in the auction. Bids starting at 60M for bikes and 12M for motorsports. That sounds like a heck of a deal on both parts! If those numbers are true, I'm fairly confident our machines will live on. I'm just anxious to see what happens to the name!!

I agree, even if another Cannondale is never made I will feel like one of the lucky and privileged ones for having the opportunity of owning a brand new speed.

I still have mine and have another full season of racing planned. For the guys who bailed I have a question that I always ask."What are you going to buy now?"It is always answered in a sullen way never with any enthusiasm. Why because everything else just isnt as exciting as a Cannondale.Once you own one you are definitly hooked!

MxDale 71,
I switched from bikes to quads a couple times.Cheaper yes, scary fast yes but they arent a quad and they sure arent a Cannondale. Also think of the quad guys we are a different group that stick together. And why is it that when you say you are switching you had to add that they were cheaper?Nobody asked for excuses. That is what I meant by the answers I always get.If you would have said"I'm buying a bike cant wait"and left it at that I would be convinced. You will be back and we will wait for ya.

A YZ 250F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but w/ more RWHP than my C-dale and 160 lbs less... You can bet your ass I'm excited as hell to get the 250F. But I'm not bailing out on C-dale because of their situation like most people, I"m just giving up quads because I can't afford it anymore. Bikes are just cheaper to race and for people like me that don't have much money, they are just the way to go.

I always mention the fact that it is cheaper because I don't have my quad sold yet so anyone reading this could be a potential buyer. I don't want any potential buyers thinkin that I"m selling the quad because I'm having problems with it (because I'm not). Also, I think Cannondale made a great quad and I don't want people thinking I'm selling because of their current situation. You may look at it as excuses, but I see it as an explanation. I agree that quad racers stick together and are more like a "family" than the bike racing world, but unfortunately that "family" isn't going to loan me any money. I say unfortunately, not because I don't look forward to switching to bikes, but because of how good I was doing in quad racing. I think if I would stay with it and could afford some aftermarket parts, I could be racing Pro at the local level sometime this season, but I'm gonna have to start over w/ bikes. These aren't excuses, they are explanations..... but don't get me wrong, I will miss quad racing.
Laptraffic - All I know is that the YZ 250F has 44 RWHP at 208 lbs. If you were racing a YZ 250, maybe he just couldn't get traction. I'll garuntee you that with equal riders on good dirt, the bike will walk away from the quad.
P.S. I'M NOT DOWNING QUADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE quad racing. Always have and always will! If I ever do come back to quad racing, you can bet that I'll be a VERY happy man because that means I've come across a lot of money! I'll be pimpin the Hummer (H1 ofcourse) and rollin on 22's. Hehe

"Cheaper yes, scary fast yes but they arent a quad"
Again, not trying to be a smartass, but a quad just isn't a bike either. That kinda goes both ways dude.

Just my opion, but last year I went to next to last ATVA National at Loretta Lynns and maybe 15 C'dales there. This year went to first ATVA National in Macon GA and WOW!!! 80 - 90 C'dale riding and not one I saw having to be towed of the track and all were hauling a*s made me proud to be a Cannondale Dealer and will continue to be just as proud with whoever ends up with Cannondale.
Not going to get much sleep tonight!!!!

I have no regrets.
My buddy bought a 400ex after riding my bike, he looked at several Dales that were getting to be dirt cheap but saved a few hundred bucks on the ex. It's a capable bike and I was impressed with the handleing but it just does not elicit the frenetic joy that a cannondale with the throttle pinned does. After his FIRST ride he was talking about all the crap he'd need to do to the bike to make it 'rideable' including a 440 kit...

That's ironic, my buddy has a yz 250f, im 99% sure, Im not a big bike guy, he said it it was a yz250, I dont recall the 'f' part though. With my stock cannibal I could hang with him in a drag, dead even. With HMF pipe and motospeed map he'd be eatin roost BR>
Good luck with the bike side of things, you ever sell your quad?
