On the road road, or dirt road?

I still don't think you should run the hell out of it when it's brand new

but I just can't babyit either, lol

wow, raced with no breakin, wonder which lucky person is going to own that predator?

bbertram, that site is interesting. It doesn't however cover cam breakin. This is where I see more engine blow.

Take a read, think about it.

dude, if i bought a brand new quad and then found out someone broke it in for me like that, id be kickin Aholes down at that dealership and it wouldnt end there, im sure your partner wanted you to keep that outing on the down low.

I was wondering the same thing. I would hope that most dealers would have more respect for their customers than that.

Break it in like you ride it.

Well I was at a buddy's house working on my cannibal (changing oil, tighting bolts, putting in motor mount update, checking clutch studs, ect.) and when I got done we decided to roll a brand new predator off his showroom floor ( he is a polaris dealer) and give them a few drag races. His main wrench man was on the predator and we ran them up the road a few times. I ended up winning two out of three races and was very happy with this since he is a much better rider than I am. We would have raced more but the rain was to bad and the road was really to slick to get a good start even with a rolling start. Like I sad before the predator was brand new with no break in done on it so that could have had an effect on the races outcome.

Well it is the demo model so it has a little ride time on it. I also agree with sandfan, give em hell from the day you get them. Every quad I have owned, that is how I broke them in until I got the c-dale. The race was on the blacktop by the way. Nobody give me grief about riding on the road either, because down here in the backwoods of Ky. that is a accpectable riding area.

I read the website dealing with Break-In procedures. The Ring to Cylinder Bore issue makes sense, but I have the same concerns in the area of the Cam Break-In that AlkyBurninX has. All that excellent Piston Rings to Cylinder Bore meshing won't do you a whole lot of good with a flat Cam Lobe. Not to mention what all that metal does to the rest of the motor.

I have always went with the half throttle, One full tank of gas Break-In rule.

road conditions will make a diffrence.pluse polaris shifter isnt the best but im happy wit my preadator.its geared diffrent so its pretty nice
