You need to get a HMF pipe for that cannibal now.

Congratulations Offroad!! Welcome to the club!!! Very exclusive, very cool, Very frickin FAST!
Many 'dale owners report severe arm pump. Don't worry, just takes a little while to get used to the arm ripping POWER!!

OFFROADREDNECK- I think you will be extremely happy with a C-dale. The power increase over your 400ex will be tremendous. The C-dale is state of the art technology and no stock quad made today can match it.

OFFROADREDNECK- The handling is just about right on par with the 400ex. The Cannibal feels a little more tippy than the 400 to me. But the aggressive tires that come on the Cannibal have a lot to do with that. The stock 400ex tires flex more the the ITP's. The ITP's will hook in turns hence wanting to roll over. But that is my observation on a MX track. In the woods and regular trail riding the C-dale will handle just as well as the 400ex. The C-dale may feel out of control to someone that is coming off a 400ex. Dont let this fool you into thinking the C-dale does not handle well because it is feeling out of control cause the C-dale is so dang fast. But you will get used to the power and feel comfortable on it over time. As far as maint. goes. it is a little more than a 400ex, but this is a true hi-performance quad, not a average out-dated air cooled quad. Overall ride and finish of the C-dale in my opinion is 5 stars.

OFFROADREDNECK- No I havent rode the new tires. I wasnt even aware that they had for sure changed them. It is just on the Cannibal and not the Speed right? Well good luck with your new purchase and I know you wont regret it. One more thing, does it always rain in London, KY? I was there earlier this year and thats all it did was rain. Talk to you later.

OK, I'm convinced I need a Cannibal too.

I've got an '02 Cannibal and love it, I also have not had one problem!

The C'dales are unique in that they have a separate housing for the transmission, just like an automobile. So there are 2 different oils you have to change, the crankcase oil and the transmission oil, plus clean/replace filters. So this makes it a bit more time consuming than normal quads. Other than having a separate transmission and having to change a fuel filter after 5-10 hours of riding, which takes about 1 minute, that's really the only difference in maintenance between a C'dale and any other quad. At least you don't have to worry about rejetting carbs any more, so there's less maintenance when you consider that.

I use "brake clean" on the filters. Works fast and easy. Good luck on your ride !!

You just described the type of riding I do. my cannibal does great in trails. I've always had fun drag racing my buddies (just look out, unless they have allot of money into their quads you'll beat all your buddies) IMO Its the best stock atv out there.

Cannondale recommends changing the oil more often then other brands, you also have to change the fuel filter about every 10 hours (cannondale recommends 5 but when I rode I got about ten) other then that I don't see any more maintenance compared to the other hiperformance quads that are produced or have been produced. when I had my quad racer I changed the oil every two rides the same amount I do on my dale. when we ride we go on about 5 to six hour rides. For the quadracer I had to worry about mixing the oil right every fill up, making sure the jetting was right almost every ride, getting about a third gas mileage as the dale. even now when we go riding I have to wait for my buddies with 250rs and banshees to get them ready for the ride. so I still don't see the problem people have with maintenance on the dales If I would have went with a Z400 or a 400EX or Raptor I would still use all synthetic oils and change them about the same intervals as I do my Dale. Plus I'd have to put in much more money and time to get those quads up to the performance and handling I got out of the box on my dale.

I just got back from talking to two of my buddies that rode my dale and they said they were going out this week to buy one (they want a moto ). Once you ride one you'll want one

i am also looking into, and probably will get, a cannibal. now, you guys say its more maintenece, but can you give a comparison like dale vs BLAH maintenece wise? honestly, im confident that the dale is great. but, maintenece is a concern for me. i understand that there is more involved than most, but how much more? thanks a lot
oce again...MIKE

yeah...cannondale is on to something thats for sure. im going to talk to my local dale dealer today.

keep us informed on everything. performance, maintenence, reliability, the works. hae fun with it

Hey i have a 400 ex that i love. im wanting something faster, do you guys think i would be happy with a cannibal? i have ridden one a little bit but havent gotten to try one out in the woods yet, i do mostly woods riding with some drag racing with friends and a large amount of hell raising. thanks.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
What type of riding do you mostly do? Also how often do you service your quad? Like changing the oil and stuff?
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
How does the handling compare? Also how hard it the maintance on a cannondale? I was told that you should use full syn. oil and i was worried that this would run into quite a bit of money in the long run. I mean i really love my 400 but im tired of getting outrun and i dont want to crack into the motor when i can just buy something stock and smoke everybody, but im worried about the overall ride of the cannibal. thanks.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
that sounds great!! i really appricate the advice. have you had a chance to ride on the new carlisle trailwolves that the new 03 cannondales have on them? i had heard that they were alot like the honda radials. if so i will for sure need to change them because i have a really hard time with busting the hondas alot. thanks.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
Just got home with my cannibal!! The damn thing will fly. Now I have to do the one hour break in oil change so I can go riding tomorow. More on monday.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
Well I did the break in period and then changed all the fluids like the manual says. I really like my cannibal!!! I still havent gotten to take it to the woods yet, but so far i really like it alot. The only thing that might be a problem is the tires. It has the carsile trailwolves on it and Im not sure if they just dont get good traction or if it is just the massive amounts of power this thing has. More to come on that later. The oil change wasnt bad at all, just took a little more time than the old 400 ex did, but well worth the trade off. I found that it is very easy to clean the little metal screens with a new clean toothbrush, gets all the little metal flakes right off.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
Yea, thats what the guys at the shop said, but I was out and didnt really want to run to town to get any, so I used my wifes toothbrush instead.
Posted by: OFFROADREDNECK
Ill tell her you said that so the next time your down here she will kick your butt!! Or wont let me buy parts from you which is equally as bad!!!!
Posted by: annibaldale
I did my oil change last week it isn't to bad but your right it does take longer.
