is the Raptor stock, or is it the quad with the CT pipe?
I'm confused

1 cannon should up to the trailer park nationals. Every raptor that pulled up to race won. I know that all the raptors were not 686's. There was a built Z400 and it was winnin g buy the smallest margin. The cannon was a 02 speed with a-arms, custom axis all around and HMF and moto mapping. Even though it did not win many 660 races i was impressed. Those things shot out of the hole something fierce. It would pull 2 quad lengths in the first 60 feet. Most of the rappy racing were nervous at that point. Up to about 150 feet it was ahead of everything it raced. I never ran it on my quad. Mine is set up for drag only and there was no point. Those cannons sound like winston cup cars banging on the rev limiter on the short tracks. I meant to ride it but got busy. I have riden one before.

my owners manuel says the gearing on a moto is 13/38. which is what i have on my 03'cannible. the gearing is different on the moto mainly because of the tire size difference, 20" to 18". also, it doesn't bother me that a $12000 modified raptor will out run a stock cannondale, what's bothering me is all this da## rain is keeping me from riding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe they changed them. i believe josh and markvette have a 13/ 38 on their motto. it's an 02'model, same as my owner's manuel. maybe they change it on the 03'motto.

im running a 10.5 to 1 je piston, webcam, rejet,no lid with prodesign filter,+1 countersprocket ,ct pipe etc

my cannondale with a slip on and blaze remap STILL outruns my raptor in 125 to 150 yard drag races!
i guess the only thing left now is to send the raptor to trinity and start over...
and yes... my raptor is jetted correctly...

I think in a race in sand where torque is a factor a built raptor should beat a cannondale. On top end they probably would too since with all that torque the raptor can pull higher gearing than a dale.

Last sunday me and my buddies went riding and ended up doing some drag racing. One of the guys has a Raptor with 11.1, pipe, jet kit, filter/ air bix, ported head and cam. I pulled 5 bike lenghs immediately and then we just stayed evenly spaced the whole way. Now this guy did all of this work right after I bout the Moto I guess so he could beat me and needless to say he was p!@@ed. I raced him 3 times just to make sure he understood what happened. Then I raced 2 other guys with 250R's. The one was a 400EX with a stock 85' ATC 250R motor, pipe, carb etc. and the other was a "like new" 87' 250R with Bill's pipe, LA SLeeve 300 kit, carb etc and I beat them too. For what ever reason those guys made me race them 3 times as well and even made me race them on the pavement 1 time. Now Iknow my quad is the fastest on earth but it was fun smoking these guys. I would be happy with another 10 hp's.

I meant my I know my quad is Not the fastest on earth. Sorry for the typo.

I run a 15/42 on my bull and it still pulls great. cdale1 the rear sproket is the same as a 250r,400ex,300ex so it should be easy to find one just check your local dealer or rock mountain atv.

yea I was playing with different ratios and my buddy had one for his 250r lying around and we put it on ,it was a 38, it bolted right up.

i just want to say that the 13/42 gearing on a stock cannible and speed the rapter will pull the Dale but when u go to the moto gearing 14/40 look out that thing will pull the big bore raptors but launching out of the hole its a dog but in the 300' u will catch and pass the big bore raptors

if u go to a showroom that has a Moto u will see that it has the 14/40 on it

sandfan the 14/40 dont work to good in the sand for climbing hills and for flat drags in the sand it works OK but its hard not to stall in off the line

Who wouldnt be happy with another 10 hp's.

Somethings fishy? I've got basically the same mods and NO C-dale has ever been within 5 lenghts up Comp @ Dumont.

I'm not trying to start a flame, I just want the truth to be told.

Any takers?

Lots of information,

Yes, the old gearing on the moto was a 13/38 an the mew moto gearing is 14/40 and the stock cannibal is 13/42, and yes the rear sprocket will interchange with the Honda 250 R. As far as how they all work, I'll find out soon as we just purchased some gearing combo's and will try out at glamis over thanksgiving. The stock cannibal with paddles is slightly undergeared as the raptors would pull very slightly on top and even my 250R would hedge it out on top with a long flat run.
