The bottom of the shaft was prone to breaking on a some shocks. We just got the rebuild kits in. I haven't heard if they're switching shocks on the Cannibals again or not. Just doesn't make sense to me. Put Ohlins on them and be done. Lower price with the higher quantity ordered.....

I wouldn't blame them if they switched either. I do have a set of Ohlins off an 02 Cannondale Speed if anyone is in need......JIM

I want 300.00 for the front shocks........JIM

What problems have they had with the Arvin shocks?
Posted by: cannondale27
I just saw the new fox shock manual on the cannondale site they show front Fox shocks to.Are the Arvins going to be discontinued?Wouldnt blame them with the problems they had.

I agree cannondale is maybe a little to quick too make some changes only because if a true problem doesnt really exist people start to think that theirs is going to break or people who want to buy think of all the so called problems.I am sure Cannondales openness and effort to change has lost them a few sales Honda,Suzuki,Kaw and the others would never publicly admit a problem much less fix it.Its a shame but thats a product of a lawsuit happy public. In my opinion any offroad vehicle should be exempt from any liability when you swing your foot over one you know dang well something bad could happen. If its a bad product then dont buy it we dont need lawyers or Barbra Walters telling us what to do with our free time.

how much do you want for them?

I wouldn'd downplay the Arvin's too much....the problem that they had the forced the recall was on 4 ATV's, ONLY 4! but that was enough for Cannondale to want to recall them (that's just the way they are). Since the recall, neither Cannondale or Arvin have been able to repeat the problem. It makes you wonder, was it really the shocks failing, or was it something that those 4 guys (or girls) did to cause it and want Cannondale to fix up their flub up for free? (user installed different a-arms, crash, hit a tree, etc?) Otherwise, the Arvin's have been trouble free, so, I wouldn't see it being a bad thing if they continue using the Arvin products. Just my .02 cents.
