<< Thanks guys. I ride all trails and an occasional MX track, but I can't have anything too wide, we ride a lot of tight stuff. The Blaze is what I want, I will have to see what the wife says first. How do you think it would compare to my Raptor, as far as power, handling, trailability, etc. We ride hard, so that's not an issue, I'm looking for something that can handle. If I don't buy a Cannondale it will be an R. >>
In every aspect of riding, the Cannondale will out-perform the Raptor.
If your not going to be racing X-country, then I wouldn't get a Blaze. I would get a 03 Speed, and just add what you want to it. A $10,000 quad is a expensive trail quad. :-)
The Speed comes with Ohlins, the extra 1,000 rpms of revs, and Aluminum handle bars. You can get the shocks re-valved from Ohlins for $250 to fit your riding style and weight. Is the nerfs, handguards, shock rezz's, Tag T-2's vs the regular Tag's, the rear beadlocks, and a steering stablizer worth the extra money to you? That's the question at hand.
BTW, it took $500 to add all the stuff to my quad.

<< mark your a little off there .....I personaly own a 686 raptor and ride with a blaze ....yes the blaze is fast but it will NOT even get close in a drag race ....trails the blaze is better ....ken my friend with the blaze is selling it due to it breaking down all the time. they over heat ,spit oil,and just shut off sometimes ....he decided to finish the racing season off on his 310r >>
No he's not. A Blaze is NOT tuned for drag racing. A Blaze is the slowest of all the Cannondales in a drag race. The throttle response is tuned for the woods, not the drag strip. And as I've said before Biggy, your friend's dealer sucks! He's overfilling the oil (causing it to spit oil) and there is an update now to take care of that, and his overheating and shutting off problem is due to mapping and poor maintence.....don't own the quad if you don't know how to take care of it...

as far as not believing that the dale can beat your raptor in a straight line. lets just say we will be sitting at the finish line eating an apple when the raptor gets there. the dealer has'nt let you ride the blaze ? most dale dealers will let you test ride them. my sons sponser takes them to the tracks and puts up a sign that says free test rides. you will never regret taking the dale over the raptor.

we ran against a 686 about a month ago . my son was on a stock cannibal at the time. it had 18" turf tamers on it and thats it. the raptor had the big bore kit, walsh a-arms pep shocks, extended axle. my son puled the holeshot by about 3 quad links on the raptor. he cornered better than the dale but we pulled him bad in the straights. my son ran first and the raptor ran second. that was on a stock cannibal, we now have the big boy. the moto. believe want you want but we run against raptors every now and then and they do not compare with a dale. sorry but its the truth. like i said before get the dale, you wont be sorry.

just telling you the way it was, didnt drag race. we do our racing on a mx track. bu there is 2 other forum members here that was at that same race. ask them. as a matter of fact special posted about that very race. motown was there too. as far as all them problems you mention your bud had, we have had none of them and we are on our second dale.

Hey guys, I am looking to buy a Cannondale. I have read a little bit about them, but would like to get the specifics on the differences between each of these models. I think the Cannibal has a different computer which does not allow it to be re-mapped? And it also has the cheaper shocks and no hydraulic clutch. How about the differences between the Speed and the Blaze other than cosmetics(Hand guards, rims, nerf's)? Thanks!

Thanks again. I had my mind set on a speed, but have been offered a brand new Blaze for $8500. Its going to be hard to pass that up! Not sure yet, but thanks for the comments. I can't hardly believe that the Cannondales will run with my 686 raptor in a straight line, but maybe they can. I will find out soon enough.

Well, since he's only got one and I haven't purchased it yet. I will give you the name as soon as I figure out whether or not I am going to buy it. Not to be a D!ck, but at that price, you get the idea.

I am sure that the Cannondale could eat a stock raptor, and would probably give a piped and intaked raptor a run. But a 686, I'm not sure, I will know soon enough! I don't have any dealers within 50 miles. So I probably won't ride one till I pick it up from the dealer. I am sure it will be worth the cash, I can't wait to get it.

Thanks for the help guys. I just put the down payment on the Blaze, I will pick her up in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

Most of the information is located on the Cannondale web site.
All of the Cannons use the same computer now. They can all be remapped.
Being that they Cannondale changes what's on each quad. It may be best to look at the individual units that you are thinking about and compaire.

I think the speeds look awesome out of those 3
But the moto looks the best out of all of em
Just my opinion on looks

For that price I would get the Blaze. What's the name of the dealer. I'm sure I'm not the only one that love to get a blaze for that price.

That's a good deal on the Blaze. I like to buy Cannibals and do what I want to it cheaper. I have a 02 Cannibal that I can make some one a good deal on.

Mark is tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Tricked out Raptor and a bone stock,no I'm lying it wasn't stock it had 18" tamers on it and it comes with 20' holeshots. Dude I couldn't belaeve it either. The dale is no JOKE!

The cannibal can be remapped. The earlier model with the 500 computer could not but the new ones have the 1000 computer and are remapped very easily. I have had mine done 3 times. The 2003 models also have the same hydraulic clutch. The earlier model cannibals had the same ohlins up front as the speed but the new ones went to arvin shocks up front. The speed has the ohlins, higher rev limit(the cannibal can be remapped in 5 minutes by your dealer) and different handlebars. That is all. Now when you go to the blaze and moto there is a world of difference. They have different ohlins up front that have compression and rebound adjustments with resivoirs. The moto is wider up front and a little lower in the back. It is a motocross machine only(no trail riding). It has different sprockets, nerf bars and smaller rear tires with bead locks all the way around and various other upgrades. The blaze is set up for GNCC racing(cross country). It has a lot of the same components as the moto but the rear tires are the same as the cannibal and speed and it is not as wide as the moto. They also came out with a new model for 2003. It is called the glamis. It is made ready to take to the dunes. It is the same as the speed except it has a high capacity radiator and sand tires.

Where are you getting it for that price? If I could a new blaze for that I would buy it in a minute.

the blaze will walk the dog (raptor) and every other quad out there .
