No way the Ohlins straight from the factory, are going to feel as good as PEP shocks setup for your weight/riding style. I want to get Ohlins to rebuild mine and add the piggybacks this winter. For my level of riding/racing, I think I will be fine. I don't plan on jumping anything over 40 feet, and I'm mostly going to be sticking to Cross Country racing.
Will this setup be comparable to PEP shocks for an A/Pro level rider? Prob. not. But I have a hard time forking out $1,550 plus, for front and rear shocks. If I was more serious about racing and was looking to go pro, then I'd do it. But I'm just a "Weekend Warrior" that likes to go ride.

Depends on where you live. Yeah, it's worth $6,000, but people are very cautious with their money now. Your going to have to find the right buyer to spend that much on a used quad. Someone that knows what they're getting. I'd take it to races and put it in every available retail flyer you can.

Some people make no sense... Why would they buy a Moto, then spend all that money on PEP ZPS shocks and a Walsh swingarm. Might as well buy a Speed or Cannibal and save $4-5 grand!

I understand that the PEPS are much better, probably, but why buy the Moto to do that? It would have been alot cheaper to get a Speed or Cannibal and do the mods, even though you need extended Arms and axle. Oh well, to each his own.

Well, until I get out of Redneckville, USA, it'll be awhile before I see one in person

Uh... Dex... a Speed with FX plastics is pretty much an early Cannibal.

Well yeah, we did say "pretty much." Because the Speed has the Tag handle bars too.
Man, I saw a Moto 440 at the track yesterday (actually I raced against him) and that thing looked mean. It had a walsh swing arm, PEP ZPS all around, Carbon fiber radiator shrouds, carbon fiber gas tank cover, and Cannondale # plates that look very cool (tribal art flames :coolI want a moto 440... LOL. That thing sat down as low as any 250R I have ever seen and the stock pipe wasn't loud at all. It was louder than mine ofcourse, but not louder than my friends 400ex w/ Yosh full race exhaust. Even the brake rotors looks OH SO SWEET. Those PEP's felt awesome... I wonder if they feel better than the Ohlins that come on it? Anyone know which feels better/smoother? The silver plastic looks cool but I think it would look better if it was silver and black like the ol' FX's instead of silver and red. Which reminds me, I saw a Cannondale dirtbike at that same track yesterday and that thing could pull away from anyone in a straight away but the guy wasn't really to fast and people usually caught him in the corners and on jumps.

I was kind of wondering about the swing arm my self, but I can understand why he would get new shocks. Some people have their preferences and he probably liked the PEP much more than the Ohlins. Those PEP's sure were SWEET, and that swing arm, along w/ all the other carbon fiber stuff really made it look COOL.

ltracerx - man, you would just have to see the moto to truely understand. That thing is SWEEEEEEET... From that GP control mounted on those Tag bars right down to the wave brake rotors. The stock Holeshot MX's mounted on beadlocks are awesome, and like I said before, the tribal art flame #plates look very cool . You could just buy a speed and add all that stuff to it later, but buying all the parts the moto has (plus shipping and tax) will run you up more than what that moto cost (not counting all those trick carbon fiber extras that he bought).

I'll trade with ya.

You guys are correct other than the rpm limit, 11600 on the speed and 10600 for the cannibal and fx400's.

I just ordered PEP/ZPS's for my son's R, they are the best shocks you can guy in my opinion. That's why most all the top pro's run them including Tim Farr, Johnny Hale, etc. The Ohlin's are good shocks but in no way do they compare to the PEP ZPS shocks.

I own a 2001 fx400, it has a brand new 2002 motor with only 15 hours on it and has the 1000ecm computer system. I have an HMF and moto mapping. It is in very good condition with only a few scratches on the plastic(normal wear)

sorry guys I feel like an idiot, I meant to ask how much it is worth, I kind of forgot to type that part. I was thinking about $6000 maybe. Yes it has the front end recall fixed.
