Yo,

I found that problem the other day! When I turn my bars to full lock both ways, I hear a clicking noise. I lubed everything up, checked the torque on all the nuts, and it's still there.

I'm just hoping my quad has the updated front end....I can't figure out why it's doing this.

I used Kendall Super blue grease. I don't think they require a special grease.

I'm tearing my A-Arms apart tonight and going to try to figure out the noise and get some more measurements for the bushings. Freakin raining up here for 3 days....with no sign of relieve until Thursday! I wish it woulda snowed more this past winter! we're really paying for it now...

No, but I have a bent spindle and my damn steering column bolts on the bottom of the bars keep coming loose. Any fix ideas??? First serious ride was today...

Hey Yo! that sounds alot like the sound mine makes. I think it comes from the brakes. I even r/r the caliper and piston thinking dirt/mud was keeping the pads from retracting. Not sure that helped any , but, I have started shooting some brake cleaner on the rotor/pads after I wash it and that seems to cut the noise by 90%. My A-arm bushings were making alotta squeeky too. hope this helps,
Ryan

What do yall do for dry spindles? When I'm unloading the Dale, it makes an awful noise (like someone farted but it only does it goin backwards. My 300ex did that too but I never felt like messing with it (that was back in my "ride it and forget it" days but that kind of changed when I had to buy my own $7,000 quad).

I only ride MX and the tracks are a little muddy sometimes at first but I wouldn't consider that riding in wet conditions a lot. Also, all the land around my house is sand

Ok, like when I pull the quad backwards and say the ground is a little uneven (i.e. a hole or little mole hill) which causes the front to turn in either direction, than most of the time it will make that noise. If it's turned to the left or right and I"m pullin backwards, it will make the "farting" noise till I turn it straight. It doesn't do it going forward and I"m 99.76839% posotive that it's the spindles. My 300ex did it too.

I'm pretty sure my problem is the spindles.

jcv400ex - Do you think I could just use some high temp, multi purpose grease on the spindles, or is there some kind of special stuff to use?

I had the clicking problem, The fix was to tighten the chain. It came with over 2 inches of chain slack, i got it at around 1.55 inches now and its silent. No more clicking. The chain slaps the gaurd and clicks.

yo,
mine doesnt make that noise...
do you ride in wet conditions alot?
are you sure its the spindles?

Anyone else get a clicking sound when riding and turning the quad at full lock. The first time I did this I thought I had a stick or branch stuck in the front end. Might just be me, I dunno its hard to diagnose cuz the engine is so darn loud???

Mine too makes the same noise, but I have not yet tried to find what the cause is. Did remind me of brakes dragging though.
