Im gonna have to disagree with big dave400ex. I was at doug gust's house today riding with my friends and he has a 450ex practice bike with everything, walsh frame a-arms pep shocks , extended axle. We were practicing holeshots. No doubt the cannondale hangs with it until I come to a corner, then we switched and he rode a 400ex and my friend rode the 450, I beat him until he cut the course. So no doubt anybody has anything to worry about.

Are there any racing shops that do motor work on cannondals.(cams, head porting, etc). I am thinking about getting one but have read that there motor does not put out the power like the crf450 and yzf426.

I'm almost posotive that w/ a pipe and remap, you can get your HP over 40 and I also heard of a 454 kit somewhere that would HAUL @SS. Kory Ellis and Jeremy Schell are using STOCK motor's in the GNC's and they are doing pretty good against all those highly modded R's, YZF 440's, and CRFs. Like smitty said, try it out first and see what you think of the stock power and if you can, try to find someone that has a piped and remapped C-dale and take it for a spin.

Big Dave,

I would ride one first to see if you actualy want more power. I have a speed and am quite impresses with the power. I beat my buds DS650 up Glamis comp and Olds hill, he has a Ron Woods Full Pipe, Rev box, Jet Kit, also beat piped raptors, a Banshee on same hill. Than before you get into motor work re-map the fuel injection for the Blaze or Moto and that almost gets you 40HP.

I also ask the tech guys about that and they said not a lot left to do. Maybe a little port cleanup, that's all.

Ride before you decide.
