Man these things have noisy engines!!!! I picked mine up yesterday and drove mine (Cannibal) and then drove a 2 hour old speed both had noisy engines so I take the engine is noisy by design.

I was told a long time ago it's due to the cassette transmission the C'dales have. Because our C'dales have a separate housing for the transmission, unlike all other quads, this is where most of that noise is contributed to. Don't know if that's true or not but that's what I was told.

I asked the Tech guy about the noise, Straight cut gears (poor mans blower) and lots of them, short timing chain, designed to be a unique sound, boy that hit that on the head. I can barely hear when someones talking to me.
