my dealer told me that Honda was coming out with new muffler bearings for the 250R that would lower resistance and add 13 hp to the 250R.

<< "takes out the trash as well", hell mine even has a trash compactor!!
That trash it's compacting is beaten down, crunched up, Raptor's!!!!! >>
Haven't had my dale long enough to find the trash compactor yet, But my car has a coffee dispenser in the dash and it changes over to beer at noon.

nice! reeds on a DS,
what alot of people don;t know about the scrambler 400, if you change the timing you can get 10 more HP,
i installed hotter cams in mine, and i also have fuel injected brake lines, they are sweet, I put a dry stump oil conversion and hydrolic transmission to.
Posted by: kukerdan
BIG DEAL! I ADJUSTED MY TIMING CHAIN SOME MORE, AND NOW I HAVE 13.8 HORSES PER CUBIC CM!
Posted by: 250rampage
Yea, I've got those breaklines. They rank right up there with my blue-anodized powerband, and my carbon fiber reed's for my 400.

<< one map will make the cdale put out 61 hp. stock they are 38-42 hp. >>
ROFL! I wonder if you actually know what fuel mapping is?
Eric

Yes, I do have a life unlike yourself...anyways. Just because your dealer says something does not mean that is the absolute truth. I have a dealer near me that had a guy that worked there and honestly thought the 400EX was liquid cooled because of the oil cooler. Does this mean the 400EX is liquid cooled because a dealer told me this???
When you get a little older and some more experience with the sport, you will realize you cant quote magazines and your dealer and act like you know everything based on that info.
Oh BTW, I really like your mature comments when you dont have anything to say or someone proves you wrong...what does my 400 have ANYTHING to do with the fact changing the fuel mapping will not give a stock cannondale 61hp? Oh, and I'll ask again...do you know what fuel mapping is?? If your going to talk about it so much, you might as well learn WTF you are talking about.
Posted by: VWVR6
LOL, just by dumping more fuel into your cylinder is NOT going to make 10 more HP (based on your number of 51)....you better read up on the cannondale fuel injection a bit more....

<< one map will make the cdale put out 61 hp >>
I hear that C-dale has a 150hp fuel map also. Runs on 87 octane pump gas and takes out the trash as well.
Posted by: garyc660R
Brian....lighten up. Was my previous message not clearly sarcastic? Do you feel C-dale makes a fuel map that raises HP from 40 to 61? Of course not. Review my postings about the C-dale.....all positive.

Brian, I always enjoy a little humorous back and forth fun as well. It's tough explaining true intentions pecking on a keyboard.

Killer400EX,
I personally dynoed mine on HMF Engineerings dyno at the rear wheels consistently between 39 and 40 horse. Put that closer to 50 than 40 if one could dyno it at the crank.

Has anyone tried the fuel injected brake lines yet?

It sounded good, but I dont think so.

Wow thats weird. I keep hearing how hard it is to get to the inards of the C-Dales. Things like air filter and oil filter changes sound like all day adventures with the C-Dales. I heard you have to take off the plastic to get to these things and other things like the spark plug. I have been leaning towards a Speed but I dont know if I'm up to the task of the higher maintenance.

just a little something ive learned over the years, dealers dont give a crap about the quad or yourself, their more interested in the sale! they'll say what they need in order to make a profit... its pretty sad actually, ive never met an honest sales person yet

i wonder if you have a life. that is what the dealer said, either way it will put out a hell of a lot more than your 400ex and handle just as well too.

one thing you don't understand is what it means to prove someone wrong. just cause you say something that contradicts what i say doesn't mean what i said was wrong. i think the 61 hp may be high and maybe he meant 51 hp because i could easily see that happening. oh yeah the fuel mapping determines who rich or lean you run your engine.

My Honda dealer told me my old 300ex would run 75 mph. I didn't fall for it and actually it was pretty funny when I proved him wrong. I never liked that place. I'm just sayin, you can't alway trust your dealer. More than likely if they know something, it would be about motorcycles and not quads, or atleast thats how that Honda dealership was.
Posted by: YoDaddy
Hurycne, you wanna hear something kinda funny? If any of us C-dale owners were to get rid of the air box lid, we would be riding without front plastics!! The front plastics IS the air box lid!!! Just a little tid bit of info that you noncannondale owners might find interesting.
Posted by: Hurycne
Yup I put those reeds and powerband in my DS and I radared at 120mph with stock gearing!!!!
Posted by: Hurycne
corndog, #1 pull out your air filter and throw it a way. #2 remove your airbox lid. #3 go drag race in the sand all day. 10 horses guaranteed.

i want to know wat the real horsepower is for the cannibal because ive heard 33 then 37 then 35 and bunch of crap but i want to really kno

To CornDog and others ref C'Dale 61 hp.
I heard the same rumour myself from my local C'Dale dealer and 61 hp. was the number he used. He referred to a drag bike, and I assumed like you that he was referring to a stock bike with a factory developed fuel mapping. However when I read about the Glamis shootout, and the 454 (I think) Cannondale, maybe this was the bike being referred to. The fact that this same rumour is being perpetrated by more than one dealer would make one suspect that Cannondale itself is the source.

Current horsepower figures for a Honda Superbike RC 51 in race trim is 175 hp, from a 999 cc engine. This translates into 2.87 hp. per cubic inch.
By nature single cylinder four strokes cannot be as efficient as two cylinder four strokes due to inertial losses between firing strokes (multi cylinder engines fire on every revolution, but singles only fire once per two revolutions.)The target best # for single cylinder naturally aspirated engines is 2.2 hp/cu. inch. Doing the math for Cannondales drag bike reported as a 454 cc modified engine, the hp. figure would be 60.95 hp. based on 2.2 hp. / cu. inch. Technology lives!

So I found a way to boost my little 250 to 61 hp just by adjusting my new feul injected carburetor. WOW And I was clocked at 105 mph but then that guy on the DS flew past me. Just ask my dealer they will tell ya. Oh I cant wait to get those reeds and that powerband.

Even if you were given the "correct" HP ratings, it doesn't really mean alot unless you know where that HP was rated at, ie., the crank, the rear axle, etc. Bottom line, it's plenty fast and blows away all other stock quads!!

That trash it's compacting is beaten down, crunched up, Raptor's!!!!!

I know, I was just having fun!! All quads are great in their own way.
I'm just glad we finally have a US built sport quad that looks like it might just compete with the Japanese quads. I'm the current happy owner of an '86 250R, on my second Cannondale quad, and I just sold a perfectly good Raptor. After riding the C'dale, I asked my son (he's the one that gets to ride the R) if he was ever going to want to ride the Raptor again, he said no. I kind of felt the same way so we sold it.
Posted by: briansgi
I know, my son and I have never laughed so hard reading these posts and other people's replies. You got to have a good sense of humor or you just go through life with a big chip on your shoulder!!
Let's ride!!
Posted by: briansgi
I installed some of the new muffler bearings on my R, they work great except you have to be careful of anyone riding behind you!! Them suckers really hurt when they break apart and come flying out of the end of the silencer at full throttle!!!
