ltracerx, I am pondering the same thing you are. I love my tecate but it is a bit outdated and the new cannondale makes some serious hp stock and is only slightly heavier than mine. If I got a cannondale I would have to sell the tecate which would be a tough choice especially since I just redid everything. It is practically brand new. Let us know when you get the new machine and how you like it.

Hey ltracerx,

The only difference between the FX and the Cannibal is that the FX sports the Ohlins shocks, and the Cannibal has Arvins, the FX has ITP wheels, and the Cannibal has regular steel ones, the EFI on the cannibal has been remapped, and the pipe has a different adjustment. I THINK those are the only differences, but I'm not sure. I think the suzuki will be pretty hot.. And I hope it is, Zuki needs to get back into the sport in a big way.. and hopefully they have! CdaleRacer has an FX I believe, and someone in here has a Cannibal.

The thing that gets me aboug C-Dale is that Scott Montgomery(CEO) frequently visits this forum to set the record straight, and at the moment C-Dale is the ONLY quad manufactuer to sponsor a race team, and back the sport. Cannondale also comes w/a kick @$$ warranty. I'd pick the Cannon over the Zuki anyday, but, it does come with a price.

Hurycne, only in his wildest dreams would he take a girl on his quad... Heck, only in my wildest too!

Long time no see OregonMXracer. How are things with you? My Yahoo thing's been screwing up lately, and every time it's not, you never reply. We'll get together sometime. Later!

Do you uhh... Yahoo?

There is also a dealer in Florence on the coast. He's a polaris and cannondale

Well, I think I mght buy a Cannondale now that I am old enough to get a job, so does anyone have any prices on the quads, I know you guys have said the Moto will have a 12,000 dollars price tag, so that is too much, also, where in Oregon can I find a dealer?

Posted by: ltracerx

I think I will probably get the Cannondale but what is the dofference between the FX400 and Cannibal. I went to the Cannondale site and there are no prices on any of them. I forgot that all the manufacturers usually detune the machines if the come from a motorcycle, thats why I want a C-Dale and I think they look sweet and nobody really has one.

Well, I won't get one till the beginning of next year. But the cool thing is I get to work all day and snowboard all nihgt with my new job!! I want a good down payment so I am going to be saving my pay checks. I was also considering a 250R but wanna be different. I might want your Tecate, so if you want email me some info.

Thanks Moto24. I think I will prolly go to Columbia River. Hopefully they will still have a couple of the early model Canninbals in Jan. cause thats when I will prolly get one. Where do you usually ride Moto24? Hows the C-Dale in the dunes. I readt he Dirtwheels shootout but I don't belive a word they say anymore.

Well, I got my new quad yesterday, an LT500!! All my money is going into this beast, sut when it is finished I will be getting a C-Dale!! Can't wait to get my Zilla up and running!

ltracerx, there are 2 Cannondale dealers in Oregon, Southern Oregon Yamaha(800-743-1846 or 541-772-6223)in Medford and Columbia River Honda(503-397-3502)in St. Helens. I bought mine in at Columbia River Honda, they charge more, Southern Oregon Yamaha doesn't up-charge for freight and set-up, but it is a farther trip than Columbia River for me. Columbia River does have 3 or 4 early model Cannibals (FX's with red plastic) and you might be able to deal with them, I did but I paid retail for my FX but got a set of paddels on Douglas rims thrown in. They also have been good getting my service updates done.

I ride Sand Lake mostly, and yeah don't listen to the reviews, the only thing I would say is it could use a steering dampner, gets a bit twitchy over the washboard stuff but it doesn't bother me.

I agree with 1986atc250r,and 1986SuZuKiQuAdRaCeR. The C-Dales will more than likely have more hp than the new Suzuki I think. Hp isnt every thing though. And who knows the Suzuki may be like the Raptor in the way something (I dont know what) was designed. I mean I've heard stories of people gaining a butt load of hp by just replacing the exhaust and air filter. But I would have to see these gains myself before I believe them. Thats just the kind of person I am. The two things the Suzuki wont have are EFI and aluminum frame, to me this is the future of all 4-stroke ATVs. The difference in EFI and Carbs is alot in the way the engine responds and maintnance. I'll never buy a NEW ATV fed by a carb again,I'm glad Suzuki is building this quad, good or bad, Suzuki's move will be good for the sport just like Cannondale's move. I mean BIG MOVE (Moto 440)! Anyway some of the first Cannibals are the same as the FX just with red plastic. You may can still find one of these. My dealer had one the last time I was there a few weeks ago. The price for the Cannibal is $6995.00 I think. I paid $7995.00 for my FX and haven't looked back since! Also like lonestarbanshee said the warranty is the best. The C-Dale FX puts out around 35-38 hp stock depending on the dyno and all the other stuff that factors in. I think the suzuki will be priced somewhere close to the 400EX. Also the C-Dales feel alittle lighter than the claimed dry weight. Mine feels realy light in the air and responds to rider input very well.

cannondales are amazing. We don't know what the suzuki will be like yet so i wouldn't judge it. The suzook is probably going to be cheaper.

<< Oh God, I was rereading some of my old posts, I sounded like CornDogoh and I haven't sunk one penny into that 500 since I got it, nor do I have a Cannondale yet, I sound just like CornDog and Killer400EX "jstu I gotttininfg on next waek an is gone be asome" haha, sorry guys, I am just bored as hell on a friday night. >>

only difference is i really got one: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/gstoneburner_99/vwp?.dir=/cannibal&.src=ph&.dnm=Pc310082.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/gstoneburner_99/lst%3f%26.dir=/cannibal%26.src=ph%26.view=t

If you can't afford a Moto440, get a Cannibal - the new Suzuki is much more comparable to a 400EX or Cannibal than a Moto440, yet the Cannibal has the same engine as the Moto440 (just not all the cool aftermarket stuff - which you can add as you can afford it with the Cannibal).

The C-Dale should have significantly more power than the new Suzuki, as a stock DRZ engine puts down about 36HP, and the ATV version is significantly detuned with less compression (which likely means a less aggressive cam) and a CV carb (like a Raptor), instead of the 39mm FCR like the DRZ has. Expect a more restrictive exhaust on the ATV vs the bike as well.

The C-Dale's HP should be very close to 40 in stock form.

CornDog, you may have one now but you have said "I'm getting one next week or this weekend"blah blah blah. Oh and you can actually type and spell, unlike Killer.

Nope, if your gonna say I need one first, I don't. If your gonna say to use it as collateral, my mom already has a loan out, which is what is keeping me from getting a quad. When she got that one, I was suppose to get an 88 250R for $4000 with a bunch of Mx mods, but the next day she decided that she only wanted a loan big enough to pay some of her medical bills and to buy me my Uncles ATC. I made a deal with her and my uncle 2 years earlier that when I got a new quad, I would do all of the various jobs around both our houses, such as painting, building the decks, etc... I am trying something else now, and would love to pay for it myself, but nobody wants to hire a 15 year old.

HAHA true but... I have been wanting to race for 2 years now, but have never had a machine that could handle the abuse. I had a Mojave but that was the biggest POS I have ever ridden. Another thing is, I live in BFE, and even in town, there isn't chit to do, which is another reason why I want a quad more. Plus I can drive my moms car whenever I want

<< Hurycne, only in his wildest dreams would he take a girl on his quad... Heck, only in my wildest too! >>

LOL, hahahaha thats kinda funny you say that because back when Britney Spears first started being more popular, I did have a very weird dream and I did actually take her out on my quad, it was kinda funny, if you ask me.
