Have a 2004 and love it. Mine had been great so far, no real problem except the brakes squeek a bunch when they get real dirt (nothing some water can not fix). As for putting it in a truck - NO. It may fit but do you want to drive 1200+ pounts over your tailgate - dont forget most are supported by cables. There have been several tailgates destroyed then they give under the weight (plus the falling rhino may suck also). Ther a some that say you can but plenty have learned it is much easier just to by a 5X10 trailer.
As for price - that is a tough one -really depends on where you are and how many the local dealer have.... SHOP around - when I got mine the prive varied over 2K.
As for trails - some allow them so dont. they are over 50" wide so just check the laws where you want to ride. I know Hatfield & McCoy emailed me back and said they were not allowed yet, and some trails in MI do not allow them.
Good luck and do a search on Yahoo for Ulility RUV or Utility Off Road for a bunch of info on them.
good luck

I'm thinking of buying a Rhino. Now that they've been out for a while, how's their durability? Do they fit in a standard pickup bed? Are they allowed on trails limited to ATV use only? Any leads on where to get the best deal on one? Thank's in advance.

Just got back from Glamis a few days ago with the Rhino. The first day, we left it at camp because everyone thought it would suck in the sand. By the last day, we were leaving the Banshee at camp to take the Rhino. Aired down to 3psi, it was amazing. It was a sight to see this thing cresting the tops of bowls no problem. I looked back a couple times thinking" theres no way he is gonna make that one", only to see the Rhino go over without even coming close to tipping over.
Did you happen to try tackling Olds Hill with it?

My son took ours up Olds during MLK weekend. It had trouble going up the center of the left side but, he took it up the far left, you know where it angles back to the right going to the top and made it fine. Ours has the 26" 589 mud tires on it. They weren't aired down or anything. I'm sure with better tires correctly aired down it would do alot better.

I have a Ranger and when I bought it I dident have my trailer so we loaded it in the back of my f350 duelly. I dident think about what the other guy said about the tailgate cables but I made it home easy.I dont think I would try it with a chevy ha ha. A trailer is the way to go.

My father has a Rhino and its literaly unstoppable, been to mud bogs where alot of quads couldnt get threw but the Rhino has no problmes. Its quite surprising. In Arizona you will have no problems finding places to ride it, believe me i just got back.

Hey raptoraz,
My brother just got through putting the HMF? pipe on his and the grizzly cdi to take the speed limiter off. He is very pleased with it, the only trouble I have with it is keeping the tires from spinning! This thing feels like power steering, smooth ride, no end to the power. If you do upgrade the cdi when you get one, get the black rhino, there are 2 glitches with the grizzly, the reverse light stays on and it doesn't work with the digital dash.
It is 54" wide outside to outside, dirtwheels mag has a picture of it in the back of a ford f250 or f350 in their shootout. My brother puts his on a trailer though. My father in law has a ranger but I haven't driven it for comparison yet, it is much larger though and has a smaller engine and non independent rear. I am not used to driving it so it always feels like its on marbles due to the huge amounts of power. I am either sliding with the gas on or sliding with the brake. We have a lot of gravel where we ride though. Center of gravity is fairly low due to the engine and drivetrain being beneath you, not as tippy as it looks.

Dirtwheels had a pretty good write up on the Rhino a couple months ago (may have been the Dec. issue). They fit in a standard size pickup bed with the tail gate down.
