the '05 Rangers feature some very nice improvements over prev years like IRS, new front end plastic, and lock-and-ride feature. i think a 2005 can be bought around $8300-$8600 in my area. maybe less in other areas.
for a 2004 used, i'd suggest backing-off the price of a new one a few grand considering all the improvements for '05.
my gut tells me it's worth $5000-$5500.
other incentives on the new one include special finance ofers. keep in mind, IRS is a HUGE improvement for '05.
BTW, let's look at it at a different perspective, $5500 will buy you a pretty nice Jeep Wrangler! you can get much more practical use out it.
