don't know about stability, i guess that's what the roll bar is for! LOL! J/K

i do think the new IRS in the '05 Ranger is sweet! BTW, the new '05 is the same price as the old style '04. and that's a plus to.

did you know a 700EFI is offered in the Ranger4X4? that should be quite a power horse.(std engine is a 500cc, non-HO)

also, red is offered as a special limited edition in the Ranger4X4. saw one a few days ago. personally i like the dk green better.

Yes they can be tippy.. but in a different way than an ATV... The roll cages are not worth much.. so don't think that they are going to replace commnon sense. You hear of many injuries caused when passengers and pilots getting their legs or arms caught between the ground and the roll cage... which equals major break city..

I haven't seen the stats, but a wild guess would say that speed and less than optimal restraint is the cause to many of the accidents you are seeing. These things look cool, are fun... but don't expect them to be a purpose built desert racer. Keep the speeds to just under ludicrous speed, and you should be OK.

Hi!!
my pal and I were talking about the rhino and ranger today.

He was wondering if a ruv would handle like a quad on a side hill......you see on a quad you can lean into the sidehill .............but in a ruv on a side hill with a passanger would you be more likely to tip than you would on a quad??

I test drove both the 500 and the 700 before I got the 500, the 700 dident have much more power for the price but the efi would be nice.I trades my 2003 polaris 700 in for my Ranger.

They do pretty good. Sometimes it feels like it's going to tip, but it doesn't. Check these out. Almost flipped it. A little air time Side of the hill
Cresting the hill

We ride pretty hard and haven't flipped it yet. Someday !!!!!

its still pretty stable you cant go on quite as steep as hill.

not as flexible for going sideways or any of the climbing where you can stand on one side....I'm sure you can stand to a side, but hitting the throttle is a problem....i think they would do pretty good otherwise...

we climb hills/mountains here in New Mexico where it takes a few people, one to stand on the machine on one side, the other two to hold on to the racks so that you don't go over...usually on washed out old two-tracks that climb up the mountains....

This weekend I was riding with my buddy on gravel roads in his Ranger, and we lost control at full throttle and flipped it on its side. I was riding passenger and was thrown out through the top of the rollcage, and he got his leg caught under it. Fortunatley, there were no life threatening injuries, and no one was riding in the back. That is the first roll that it has ever seen, after 75+ hours of use, but when it rolls, it rolls hard.
