Im not going to preach chinese quads because I have a ton of them and have good luck with all of them because I have done the proper setup.

1) use regular gas. Nothing special because it will make no difference.
2) You can use any synthetic oil or regular oil. 15w40 is ideal when hot or 10w30 cold.
3) You an get a front anad rear sprocket with a chain from a Kazuma meerkat50. I did this mod and it helped a ton. John at raceway has the parts. You may want to go to a bike shop for the chain because the meerkat chain is too short so I needed 2 chains to make it long enough to use.

Question for you is how old and how big is your daughter? How much property will she ride on? If you are mechanically inclined you should not have any problems prepairing the quad. Get some red and blue locktite for the nuts and bolts.

The 90 does have alot of power but limited back it has no low end because of the high gearing. These are super fast on top but if you limit it too much and get to a hill it will not go up. The sprockets helped alot. My sons meerkat 50 was a semi auto and was great because you did not have to limit it much. I just picked a gear and let him go. I got him the 90 because he outgrew the physical size of the 50. Also my youngest son is 4 1/2 and it is hard to squeeze the hand brake. I prefere the foot brake of the 50. I had to modify the handbrake so he could reach it with his fingers. You may or may not have to do the same.

The 150 is ok but I would wait till the 07's mcome out. The new ones are going to be alot better.

Here is a kit that may have what you need, LUBE ACCESSORY KIT but most just replace the zerk fittings with the proper size.

do a search on carb tuning , theres good info on here on how to do it, and these are cold blooded machines until they are warmed up the tuning will help, but mine are cold blooded and its cold where i live.

Posted by: hoytultratec

coldblooded means doesnt run good until warm. mine all run great when warm, when starting i still have to feather throttle a little till they warm up a bit, but its also 40 degrees here.

any bearing grease will work, auto parts store, ect, nothing in rear end must be sealed bearings LOL! when they go they go.

Hello all,

I am currently awaiting the delivery of my daughters Roketa Mini 90cc from Raceway and would like to know a few things before it arrives. Any help would be much appreciated. Please don't preach about how much Chinese ATV's suck because it is her very first and I am not spending $1800 on an ATV that she will outgrow soon or not even like. So here goes:

1) Should I use regular unleaded fuel or Premium unleaded in it to get the best performance and longevity?
2) Is it OK or recommended to use a high quality synthetic oil in the engine or just use regular oil?
3) Does anyone know if a larger rear sprocket is available to lower the gearing on this model?

It has not come in yet so if you can offer any more information on it I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I have seen you make quite a few posts in this forum. My daughter is 5 and she weighs about 45 lbs right now. I will have to turn down the throttle a lot to keep it under her control. She has ridden a battery ATV for about two years and has been riding a friends Kawasaki 50 lately so she has gotten a decent amount of beginner practice in. I decided to go with the 90cc hoping it would have more torque for taking off with the throttle turned down than the 50cc models. That has yet to be seen, so I figured I may as well go ahead and ask about the sprocket mods. I live in a very rural area and have about 150 acres around us for her to ride without ever loading it on a truck. I will go this weekend and get the much needed loctite in anticipation for the delivery next week. (Hopefully)

Yeah, I was thinking about the handbrake problem too. I will work it out somehow. I see that you also have a JetMoto 150. I have been wanting to get another one for my 13yo son. I have been looking at the 110,125, and 150 JetMoto for him. I was leaning toward the 150 because of the size of the frame and its only about $100 more than the 125. How do you like yours? Will it hold up for a young teen for a couple of years? I appreciate all the info.

Really? Do you know what kind of changes are going to be made and when they are going to be available?

From what I have been reading on these forums, Raceway ATV has the sprockets. I am going to wait till I get it in to see if I need more low end or not.

Just an update for eripey....
My Roketa Mini 90 came in this week and I finally got a chance to assemble it and get it running today. I went over it and used locktite on all the bolts that I could reach and changed the oil prior to starting it. It fired right up after 4 hits of the starter and runs very well. I will go ahead and say "BUY SPACERS!" as it will tip over fairly easily if it is turned at any speed other than crawling. I will be looking for some Monday morning. As far as needing sprockets....I really dont see a need for them. That 90cc engine has got plenty of "umph" even with the throttle limiter backed all the way down. If you back down the limiter and your child wants to climb a steep hill or come out of a ditch, then you may want to look at some more low end torque but while they are learning I think it is going to be just fine. The manual that comes withthe ATV is HORRENDOUS!! I think they made one book for all the models they make because it talks about adding oil to the gas and changing gears with the gearshifter and the grammar is much worse than the average teenagers these days. There is also NO instructions for the remote keyfob that operates the alarm and remote shutoff. I used it to shut off the bike (just to test it) and the bike would not start again. I started tracing wires and found a fuse under the seat that had blown when I used the shutoff button. I replaced the fuse and it has been going fine ever since. It is only the first day that we have had it but so far I think it is well worth the money it cost. Time will tell.
Make sure to check your body when you unpack it. When I looked at it on the delivery truck everything looked fine but when I took it out of the metal shipping cage I noticed that one of the brackets that holds the body to the frame was broken off. No big deal yet, just vibrates a little more.

Anybody seen these tiny grease fittings before? They are the ones on the A-arms and front ends parts. Any idea where to get a grease gun for them?
Does the "rear end" have any grease or oil in it? If it does, how in the world do you check it or change it?

Three days and still going with no more problems!!! WooHoo!!

Hi, I am going to be a new owner as well. Where do I find information on the sprockets to get more performance?

Thanks.

Okay, thanks for the info. I think I will wait as will to see what the back end power is.

Daveola, you are going to have to let me know what spacers you are talking about and let me know.

I received my son's meerkat90 this last friday(October 13, 2006), I actually went to pick becuase they were going to delay to ship it until Monday. I can't complain about the shipping, becuase it was really quick even if it was going to be delivered on Monday.

I opened the box up and, there was a litte scratch on the front bumper where something punctured the box, but no big deal. I was able to put on the wheels, put acid in the battery, drain the oil, this all took about 1 hour. I had to go the auto store for the oil, I used the recommended 20w50.

After everything was set up, I tried to start it, but it wouldn't start (notice to everyone, I never owned a motorcycle of any kind or anything like it). I tried for about 10 minutes of starting until the battery seemed it was almost out of juice. I finally found the gas line needed to be turned on, it started like a champ. I played around with the governer to make sure my son had some power but not too much because he's still learning.

The only complaint I have is, it has some trouble staying idle when you first start it for some reason. I have to at least start it about anywhere from 5-10 times to actual getting it idling good before I can give it any gas, once its warmed up, then it's runs really good!

Anyone have problems with the starting of engine to get a good idle? Remember I am basically a newbie to this. Do I need to adjust the engine idle, if so, how do I come about that. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

What do you mean by cold blooded? Yeah I called John at Raceway today and he mentioned a carberator thing as well. I was at work and I was not near the atv so I will try in the morning to see if I get a hold of someone. I am in the West Coast so the 3 hour difference, I have a better chance getting it fixed in the morning.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I called raceway this morning and they had me do some adjustments on the carb. I was able to get to mixture screw, but the idle screw was a little hard to get accessed. But I can't get to that until this weekend. I will make some tuning and will see what happens.
