It should be a 12v battery in it not 6v. Sounds like the battery is dead.

it's definitely a 12 volt system, sounds more than likely a dead battery, replace it, wal-mart should have one around 25-30 $

First thing is, if your battery truly is 6 volt, do not attempt to use a 12 volt. A 6 volt system will not handle the extra voltage, and you will burn fuses and/or wiring. When it comes to the lights, I know my Redcats lights will not come on unless it is running. My FX-150 has a cylindrical switch near the brake pedal, this activates the safety switch as well as the brake light. If you turn the key on, press the foot brake, and the brake light does not come on, most likely your problem is in that switch. That switch will come apart by unhooking the spring to the brake pedal from the switch, using something small and pointy to push in the two tabs at the top of the switch that hold it together. From there you can open the switch and check the contacts. Mine gives me issues sometimes. Clean it out really good, and see if that helps. As a check while you have it apart, make the two contacts touch each other and try to start the quad. Hope this helps you out! Good luck.

BTW, your system is a 12 volt if it is the Redcat DPX-250 utility quad.

I am going to explain it the best i can for the best diagnoses, i have a Kazuma/Redcat 250cc bought from Raceway. I have driven maybe once since purchased and parked it for a few weeks. I went to get on it, turn the key, gauges come on, push brake (even tho brake safety switch has been bypassed to my knowledge) push starter button and nothing happens, at all, no sounds nothing besides the fact that when i push the start button the guages go dim like there is power being sucked from somewhere. Next thing i tried to do is try the lights, nothing the lights dont come on (driving or brake), but the gauges do the same thing go dim but nothing happens. I have been messing with it all day to no avail. Battery is charged (it is a 6volt, i have 12 volt batteries for it should i try it?) Someone plzz help!
