zavetsky,
I can tell you that NO ONE has better service and parts than Raceway. I have many quads from them and they have never let me down. You will not be dissapointed with Raceway. If you want to know the difference between Baja and Kazuma I would go with Baja. Although RAceway does not sell Baja. Most of the Kazuma brand is ok but it can be hit or miss. For a 7 yo if you were to buy a quad from Raceway go with the Mini delux 100. My son is 8 and he fits very well on it. It has plenty of power and is built pretty strong. The xl70 or 90 will be a little small for him. The mini delux is a few inches bigger and will give room to grow. The xl 70/90 he may only fit for about a year. None of these is Honda quality but for a first quad they are great. That way if they dont like riding there is not much loss.

Its not really the size of the motor that you need to worry about its the size of the frame. The xl are pretty small. The delus is just a tad bigger and you can limit the throttle back so they wont have all the power. The xl quads that RAceway has are from Roketa. They are built very well and the suspension actually works. The Mini Delux100 is built by SunL and is also built pretty well. The mini falcon would be ok. I have worked on a few Baja quads and they are built very well. Suspension is great on them and they have been holding up good. Plus they are everywhere. The only problem with Baja is that Pep Boys does not service them. If something goes wrong you have to call Baja and they will approve repair and tell you where to send them.

Zavetsky,
This bike is a very tough bike with tons of power. It has never had problems going anywhere. Although I did have problems with the first one but Raceway made it right and this one has been great. It is a perfect size for a 7yo. It gets rode every weekend all day long by my sons friends and it takes a beating. Like I said in another post I think this is one of the best Mini quads out. It may not have the best suspension but it is simple, powerful and tough.

Bill I have a few sunL quads and I have needed parts. Parts were here within a few days. They dont have problems getting parts for the smaller quads just the bigger ones from like 150 and up. The mini's are easy to get parts for.
Posted by: 2manytoys
Yes. Alot of Kazuma, komodo and tomoto parts are the same so parts would not be hard to find but Sunl seems to have a problem with getting parts out to people.
Posted by: 2manytoys
RAceway CAN get parts for everything they have. All of my quads are from Raceway with the exception of the Honda and I have NEVER had a problem getting parts foe any of them. He usually has them to me within 2 days so not much down time. Not that I have had problems with the quads but small stuff like plastics, wheels, lights, etc... You can find Kazuma parts anywhere on the net. They are everywhere and most all the Chinese parts are interchangeable. Raceway has been around for a long long time and they are not in the business to rip people off. I have been dealing with them for about 2 yrs now and I have bought a few dozen quads not just for me but friends, co workers, neighbors and family. If I did not believe in RAceway I would not recommend them to my own family let alone let my kids ride thier quads. I too was very skeptical when I bough my first quad from John ar Raceway and after alot of research I took the plunge. John ( Raceway) has never let me down. Raceway has their sh!T together. If they cant find parts for a quad he will either replace it or use parts from another quad just to make the customer happy. Even if it is at his own expense. I have been here a long time and I think people and even Raceway values my opinion. I would never steer anyone wrong. If a certain quad was bad I would say it is bad.

60 day warranty. Thats crap. Raceway is 6 month warranty. If you want to go that way then yes Raceway does not have a problem selling parts. But lets say after your 60 day warranty is out and a cdi or carb fails. Now you have to buy parts. At least 6 month warranty it will be nice and broken in and all the bugs if any are all worked out. You wont be out a penny for the first 6 months. Its the street venders and small shops that give these a bad name. How long has he been there? Can you look at his inventory of parts? Is this a garage or an actual atv shop? Many people make the mistake of trying to get the cheapest deal in town but then get screwed after the sale. If you think your local dealer is honest and has a good rep then go 4 it.

Hi all.....new to the forum.....just found this place when doing a search for Kazuma....
I am looking to get an ATV for my 7 year old....just turns 7 this month.
I am looking at the 50-90 cc range.....I am afraid 50cc will be too small so I was thinking 70cc....
I found a Kazuma XL70 online and like the sound and PRICE of it......then I found tons of references to Raceway and found the XL70 there.....great price plus free shipping!
But some questions....
1) what is thequality of these units like? I have a Yamaha Timberwolf (94) and a Honda TRX250X (1987) and niether bike has ever failed me and they have been used well....I have heard some bad commenst about these "chinese imports".....and folks say 'you get what you pay for'....the $675 price for the 70XL SHIPPED is outstanding but am I trading off price for quality?
2) I dont know if I have a localdealer and if I did if he could match that Raceway price.....if I bought from Raceway how would parts and service be handled? I wrnech my own stuff usually but if there is a major issue, what happens?
3) Is there a warranty?
Pep Boys has their "Baja" ATV on sale for $800 or so, but free financing for 16 months which would help......how do the "Baja" bikes match up against the Kazuma brand?
Sorry for all the questions......
I am thinking of doing this for my sons birthday, end of the month.....thanks for the help folks!
Posted by: zavetsky
Thanks for the feedback....I am worried a bit about size.....
My son has never ridden a gas powered ATV before....has a battery powered hotwheels and a 2 wheel bike and he does great with those......90ccs seems kind of big engine wise, doesnt it??
He is just truning 7 this month...about 3' 11 inches tall.....
Is there a difference between the "min deluxe" and the plain "mini" besides $100 ?
What you said about Baja vs Kazuma...intersting......what makes you say that??
Who makes the "min" and the "mini deluze" ?
I have heard horror stories about frames cracking etc......I dont want to buy into problems....
Posted by: zavetsky
Maybe I will go take a look at the bajas today......
I really dont have to finance.....but free money is a good thing.....if I can spend the money over time for free versus spending it all up front I try to do that.....
I hate to buy an ATV thru the web and not be able to try the size up front.....I as leaning to the XL until you folks said it is kind of small......then I was leaning toward the mini or mini deluxe until I read here and elswehere thant SUNL leave s a lot to be desired...
Hmmmm.....
Well, like I said, no real rush.....I had actually told my son that he couldnt get a ATV until next season......so I have some wiggle room there before major disappointment sets in.... LOL
I guess I am not too worried about service....I will do my own wrenching on it unless it is something major.....
Posted by: zavetsky
I just got back from looking at Pep Boys...
They have a "Baja 50" for $699......nice little bike I think.....they also had a "baja explorer 90" which is a utlity type.....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too big for my son..he looked like a bug sitting on it.....couldnt grab the levers right etc and it had a big "for ages 12+" sticker on it.
The 50 looks good....rear disk, full suspension, chain/rotor guard....rear light and it looked like a front light (but it wasnt on the floor model -- wires were there though).....Only thing I am not sure about --- it is a full automatic.
I also had the boy try on some helmets.....an adult small seems to fit ok but there is a gab between his head and the rear bottom of the helmet....not sure that is right.....they didnt have any kids sizes in stock.....
Thanks for the site link...will check it out.....
Posted by: zavetsky
Well, I thought the same thing too.....But a t least in the Baja the 90cc bike is just too big...
I did some measurements of the Baja 50 and would like to get somewhere around those sizes....it was about 23" seat height...I measured ground to the lowest poiint in the seat.....the 90 cc bike was somwething like 40".....HUGE in comparison....
This is one reason why buying online scares me a bit...with all the variables I might end up getting a monster that he wont be able to ride.
Posted by: zavetsky
Oh I know.....until I got on this and anotehr forum, I didnt realize they made different frame sizes for the larger engines......I thought 50cc was one approximate size and then the 90s would be bigger, etc....
The fact that they mix the frame and engine sizes really makes it confusing.....

I am going to look at the 2006 SUNL 110 on Friday at a local place.......

Thanks.....this is encouraging....I have been told that "if you buy SUNL you deserve what you get"....LOL
I know they (and others) had issues in the past.....but so did Hyundai and I have a 2006 Sonata that we LOVE.....companies can change.......
I just cant bring myself to spend the $2000 on a brand name new one....and so far all the used ones I have seen in the $800 range are junk.....

Bill.....
By your sig I see you own 2 Kazumas (and 2 SNLs)......My cousin bought a Kazuma 3 years ago and told me the same thing "Stay away from them! Cant get parts!".
In fact, I think that in the last couple weeks of my research I have been told to NOT buy every single brand because if this.

2manytoys....
Where do you get your parts?
I seem to have a couple dealers near me (one of which that I am going to see tomorrow)...the another guy about 4 hours from me...and then Raceway in NY who has a great reputation and sells the "mini" which is whatI am looking at.....all these folks say they can get parts easily for me (of course they would say that I guess).
I realize that if they go out of business I am screwed...but then again, if the the 2 or 3 local Honda dealers go belly up I wont be able to buy parts locally for my Honda motorcycle either and will have to find a place to get them...I cant just call Honda and order parts I have to go thru a dealer..I dont see a lot of difference from THAT aspect....

Thanks 2manytoys....
I know this is a "raceway" forum......but....
...I am going to see a SUNL 110 tomorrow locally....the guy wants $600 for his.....he also says he ha spartsa and has sold many.....he has a 60 day warranty which I guess is OK but not great....
I really am torn at this point....so many people say\you cant get these wet, cant rely on them etc......
Maybe I will feel better after seeing one.....
Depending on how the localguuy hits me I may end up back at Raceway.....
I assume raceway would sell me parts even if Ididint buy the SUNL there?

I intend to find the answers to all those questions today....yes, I thought about asking to see the spare parts as well...of course, he could show me any stack of parts and I wouldnt know if they are the right ones but I will ask.....
I agree that 60days is nothing.....Raceway's 60 day warranty is engine only....the rest of the bike is 120 days....still much better than 60 days.....Raceway doesnt list the 110cc mini.....only the 90cc.....I am going to see the 110.....Raceway wants $685 for the 90cc....this guy wants $600 for the 110.......

Ok but what aboit places like raceway that DO sell parts?? They list the SUNL parts right online......and Raceway cant be the only place.....can they?
The guy I talked to today said he stocks the wear items...chains, brakes etc....and will even part out a new one if needed to get odd parts.....that seems like dedication to me.....???? He said the parts can be ordered thru SUNL but they take a few weeks to get because the yhave to come from china....

You ordered parts thru Raceway then?? WHat kind of parts??
I went and looked at the local guys SUNL 110...overall I like the bike......he is willing to work with me on the warranty length and he seems honest enough.....I am not sure about the fronty end -- more specifically the spindles....they are kind of set up like a lawn tractor.....just rotating sleeves on a shaft......wherreas the mine delexue on raceway's site has what looks to be balljoints........???
What types of front ends do other minis have?
Posted by: zavetsky
Thanks Bill for your feedback....
It really does seem like you had a bad experience with them...and I appreciate the wisdom....On the other hand, doing a search , I have found numerous negative commenst about EVERY chinese and some taiewanese mini ATV.....a variety of names.
So, going by that I shouldnt buy anything but a brand name at this point.
I also contacted several folks who bought the same bike I am looking at on ebay (the SUNL 110 mini, same as what raceway carries) and a couple have said how great they are and a couple have said they stink.........I have seen "they have tons of issues" and I have seen "they are good solid machines for the money".
Problem is, the tally is almost neck and neck......
So, not really sure what to do.......
The dealer I talked to today even said that SUNL headquarters doesnt seem to stock parts....yeah that sucks....but then again, I had to wait 2-3 weeks for a clutch cvable for my 2005 Honda street bike because no dealer with 200 miles had one....it had to come from some warehouse somewhere.....and thats HONDA.
2manytoys seems to enjoy his SUNL 110......you dont think your SUNLs are very good........but the problem I face is on which side to lay my cards.....
I f I were to go out and buy a used name brand for 1,000 I wouldnt know what I was getting either and could be facing major problems and expensive repairs.....no difference, really...I would just have spent more up front....
I really do appreciate the food for thought......

Hi Bill.... Oh, I know you werent saying to not buy a chinese quad.....I am saying that if I take your advice to not buy a SUNL, and someone elses to not buy a Kazuma and still someone else's to not buy anything Pep Boys sells and yet anotehr person who said Wildfire bikes are junk, that doesnt leave a whole lot.....I have found negative feedback on just about every name brand out there so far.....
My point was that if I take all of that , including your excellent feedback, I would be best to not buy ANY chinese quad...see what I mean? Now, going by what 2manytoys said, the new SUNL that I am looking at is solid. I did ask the local guy if he would offer me the same warranty as Raceway does (6 months motor and 120 days frame, etc) and he agreed.....so from that aspect I am not worried.....I guess I want the warranty dont want to have to ever use it...LOL...the old "have your cake and eat it too" thing....
As far as parts...well, from what I could find on the web, there are just a handful of dealers carrying parts for each brand.....I didnt look into if the main office in the US carries or warehouses parts.....but going by the dealer count, seems like just as many folks have parts for SUNLs as any other.....although that is just on the limited amount of research I have done myself....I am used to crummy customer service....I own a Dodge and a Honda....neither company really cares....oh they pay lip service but when the chips are down they hose ya....same with Chevy......I had a brand new Chevy Malibu with problems and I had to involve an attorney before the problem was taken care of....and then the dealer played it off like they were doing it as a courtesy.,....prior to my registered attorney letters to the dealership owner and the CEO of Chevy, they had told me that they could do nothing for me....the next day they called and said come picky up your new replacement car......so I dont care about what kind of customer service I get from SUNL headquarters.....as long as I can get parts from Raceway and my dealer then I am OK, I think..someone said that many of the parts on the SUNL are actually shared among other makes as well....so...... But yes
Bill, I see your point....I used to care and demand that companies give me the respect I deserve for buying their product...but anymore, customer service in general sucks so bad, even with name brands, I dont hold my breath....I try to make an informed decision based on real world results....ans right now, its 50% one way and 50% the other.....
Other than the frame breaking on your SUNL bikes, what other issues have you had? What year are they and how much use do they see?? I am particularly interested in the 110's track record.....
Posted by: mywifesquad
2manytoys, shouldnt you be able to get 150 parts from just about everyone else who makes one?
Posted by: MIDDLEAGEDCRAZY
Word of caution, Don't buy from Pep Boy's. They only sell them and afterward's could care less what kind of problem's you have with them.Even though RaceWay woulden't reply to my Question on their video of the 110 Kazuma, I would still suggest buying from them, just because of all the good review's I have heard about them.Sound's like they stand behind what they sell. But may not reply to up front question's on this fourm.:I
Posted by: MIDDLEAGEDCRAZY
I was just on Raceway's web site and saw 3 110's on there.
Posted by: billl2099
if you need to finance in order to buy a atv ,my thought would be to go ahead and finance a jap quad, more money but the payments won't outlast the quad. if you have the cash then i would look at raceway's kazuma falcon 90's , the biggest reason is, parts are very easily obtainable , from raceway, kazumausa, redcatmotors, e-bay, you're not stuck with just one dealer for parts. i like the mini delux 100 but the problem with that it's a sunl, and we all know what support sunl gives both to the dealer and the customer.(lack of) all the chainese atv 70, 90, 110's all use the same engines
Posted by: billl2099
here's some more information on atv's on which one's not to buy, one's to avoid are SUNL, ROKETA, KPX, no matter how cheap or whom you're buying from.
Posted by: billl2099
don't want a 50cc for a 7year old, he out grow it in a few months, automatic's are prefect for this age group, the kids can just go out and ride and have fun without worrying about shifting
Posted by: billl2099
im not talking about frame size, i'm thinking engine size.
Posted by: billl2099
remove front wheel spacers install in rear, duh

DON'T BUY A SUNL NO MATTER HOW CHEAP OR HOW WELL YOU LIKE THEM , IT'S NOT A QUAILTY ISSURE BUT LACK OF PARTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE SUNL GROUP. THERE IS NONE. ONCE THE ATV IS BROKEN YOU MIGHT AS WELL THROW IT IN THE TRASH, NO REPLACEMENT PARTS PERIOD.

if a dealer is telling you parts that are ordered needs to come from china, just what do you think he's really telling you, THE SUNL GROUP DOES NOT IMPORT REPLACMENT PARTS FOR THEIR ATV'S PERIOD. and also he's lieing to you if he says a couple of weeks,it really takes 2-4 months. do your research and also check dallas texas BBB for sunl complaints before buying a sunl. the sunl group will sell to anyone whom wants to sell on e-bay and have the atv's dropped shipped, also look at rip-off comlplants on the web about sunl. i really don't care if you buy a sunl or not but if you do and it breaks in a couple of weeks and your kids are po' d at you you been warmed, we had one sunl 90 raceway replaced because of a broken frame, we replaced that with the mini 100, it's ok only because it's for our grandkid and has ony a couple of hours of used, why do you think raceway dropped the sunl line execpt for the mini 100, i 'm pretty sure it because they got fed up buying complete atv and using them for replacment parts, i bet and i'm not sure but if you look around raceway you're see a lot of sunl's pile up missing parts that they used for warranty parts. if you do decide on a atv do yourself a favor and buy it from raceway, no other chainese atv dealer will give you better customer service.

Hey, I recommend the kazuma mini falcon deluxe $779 shipped to your door. My son is 6, 4 ft. tall. Fits him perfect with some room to grow. You can adjust the throttle to where it will only go 5 mph, but then your lacking the power to go up hills and over stuff. But my son's is adjusted out halfway and it is plenty for him. It pulls me around fine, I'm 5' 8" 170. If you were to go with this quad, I recommend using spacers on at least the rear wheels. Not so easy to tip over. If you go to raceway.com, It shows you the measurements of the quad. Another plus, is that you will have it at your home within a week. At least I did. No problems yet.
I put wheelspacers on front, but tires rubbed the baskets, anyone done this and done a mod to fix?????
Posted by: honda440exrkt
Hey Duh,
I have them installed on the rear wheels, I want the front widened also. Smart@$$
Posted by: steestar
if i were you, i would get him a 90. at a young age like 7, the faster the better. and if your not comfortable with this theres always throttle control. just screw the screw on the throttle in and it takes away some of the power. over time when you get more comfortable with letting him ride more powerful quads you can unscrew it a little. plus its always good to buuy a little big. he can grow into the quad, it will last much longer for him. well whatever you decide on, good luck and i hope your son likes the ATV
