If im not mistaken it has a centrifugal clutch no gears. Just like a cvt . I know most are going to this design instead of the 1 gear automatics.

Shugga there is nothing different about the 50 except for the bigger motor and the 90cc motor has been used in alot of other minis. I dont think you will have to worry because these motors are pretty much bullet proof.

We have just received the new Kazuma Meerkat 90cc ATV's in today. They are the same exact ATV's as the Kazuma Meerkat 50cc's but this unit has a 86cc engine and is a fully automatic. Most of the feed back on the Kazuma 50's have been positive, but the biggest complaint was that it had gears. So if anyone is interested we have them now! I looked like a real clown racing around with it today at the store but the little thing has some punch. Here is the link to check it!

This unit is a one gear unit! They do not shift. They try to find a happy medium for low end and top end. So it is one gear ratio! believe it or not 5'10 180 pounds I was riding this unit yesterday and as most of you know out there this is a small unit. For the 1 gear it pulled me just fine. Went up and down some hills and curb no problem. It a great Littleeeeee bike. I would think for this size ATV and for the ages that will be on it the one gear style should work out just fine. If Kazuma came with the 50cc without the gears everyone would be saying this thing has no power!!! "Cant even ride over an ant! That's why they came with the 50 body and 86cc. This way they fit the customer that do want the gears (like on the 50cc) and have enough power for the hills! Got it! hope this helps!
A 2many did you get you parts??

Problem is most of the bigger 50cc's I have seen dont have the power for the bike! So I think for this line of units you should wait till he can step it up in cc's.

Hi John,
I bought one of your 50cc last year for my son. Well he has since outgrown it sizewise and was wondering what you have that is larger sized but not a big motor. I notice most of the name brand ATV's do that (have a 50cc but a lot bigger size wise) but most of these off brand ones you have to get a real large cc motor just to get a larger sized machine for bigger kids? Any ideas or comments?
Jim
I like the size of the Jetmoto but he doesn't need that big of a motor?

Here I was all set to buy the 50 for my son on Monday. And now I hear about this 90 for only a few bucks more....
I will probably still go with the 50 because they have been around longer and I really don't want to be the guinea pig for that new gearbox, but man that is tempting....

Thanks for the reply, 2manytoys.
I purchased the Meerkat 90 today.

What does "fully automatic" mean? Does it mean the transmission has several gear ratios and automatically shifts between them as needed? Or does it mean that the transmission has only one gear ratio which can not be changed?

I have a Meerkat 50 that I was going to sell to a freind. he brought it back and the engine is locked up.
I think he may have blown the engine but my fault for not starting it up before he left with it.
Any ideas.
Anyone know where to buy a replacement engine for it cheap???
All I have seen so far are for 300.00 to 500.00 ill buy a whol new bike for that!
