Was it a stock Ford tranny temp gauge (like '03 or newer)? If so, they are like those pop up meat thermometer. Just tells you "it's done." BR>
I beleive Ford uses the same tranny behind the motors. Previously was the 4R100, then the TorqueShift behind the 6.0 PSDs. Unless it's really old. And sometimes they just wear out.

If its not rebuilt yet then rebuild it and BEEF it up.. Spend a lil more but get a LOT..

i just pick up a 06 33ft ww fifth wheel and as i was towing the unit and the tranny took a dump . i am towing with a f350 diesal i was thinking to replac with a dually are the tranny the same between the to trucks

Sounds like it over heated ... you could just add a cooled to the transmisson line.

most transmission failures are from over heating ... or just not changing the fuild at lease every 60,000 miles.
Did you get the transmission repaired yet ... if they are going to rebuild it, the shop should tell you what happened.
