First, don't get mad at the cops. They are doing what they are supposed to do. Second, you knew before you even got your license, all about speed limits and the rules of the road. You chose to exceed the speed limit, nobody forced you. Your just damn lucky a little kid didn't run out in front of you while you were speeding.

I'd be more worried what that is gonna do to the cost of my insurance. If you or your parents thought it was high before (and it was), just wait till they get a hold of that information.

Hopefully you can plea that down a bunch. 24mph over is huge. I have no clue how Texas handles this kind of stuff, but at your age and that speed I doubt the judge will be really understanding.

2 days is 2 days. If I were you, I would arrive at your court date like an hour early. Hopefully they go on a first come, first served basis. Best to go before the DA and judge when they are still fresh than before they have had to hear 100 other people trying to get out of a ticket as well

Well I am 16 and I just got my license in December and you have to have ur license for 6 months without any tickets and only with 1 person in the car. Well I have 2 more days until that is up (6/11/06) and of course with my luck I get a ticket when I was messing around with my truck exhaust. I would just flore it because my friend was behind me and I was just messing around makin him jealous and when I flore it the cop was like 150yds ahead behind a car and he said he clocked me at 54 in a 30mph zone. (Yes, that is 24 mph over the speedlimit). I know for a FACT I wasnt going 54 but he said I was. I dont know how that radar gun works but he clocked me as I was coming towards him so I guess that thing is pretty complex. So I am wondering if I am going to get my license taken away till I am 18 or something or if I just pay the $165 ticket or what. One of my friends got introuble before his 6 months was up and he said he just got a 90 day probation of no tickets and the cost of the ticket but I dont know. The cops here are really g@y so..... That would pretty much suck to be a senior and walking to school. I will graduate before I could drive again.

I think this is EXACTLY these laws were put into place. There has been a rash of teenagers killed in pretty horrific accidents in and around Sacramento.15-16 year olds racing etc..NO EXCUSE!!

Get a lawyer, pay him to get you out of it, learn your lesson >>>>>>>
Heck with that, commit the crime, do the time IMO. Why should he get out of it?

Oh raider, he didn't kill nobody. Who hasn't paid some cash to get out of a speeding ticket? It's not a DUI!

you'll just get timed tacked onto ur probation. i got a speeding ticket and i got another 9 months added to my probation

yeah, in wisconsin if ur under restrictions you can only have 1 passenger and cant be out past midnight. so i got another 9 months of that added to my original restrictions. and if i got another ticket the points that you get when issued a ticket would have double resulting in me losing my liscense.
