MY Diesel work truck. Cummins Turbo 565 HP 1850 foot lbs torque.

Have the Edge w/ Attitude, exhaust and air filter. Also put on a 4" lift (which doesn't help). Tows my 39-footer great.

I've always been a Ford guy but I'm happy with this product.

Just bought a near new 2005 GMC 2500 HD SLT Duramax crew cab 4X4 for pulling my 35' 5-er and my 4 place quad trailer. Talk about power. I tried out the Ford, just to give it a fair shake, but the Ford did not even come close to having the performance and luxury of the GMC.

Nothing wrong with Dodge, I SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH DODGE, (shouting over the noise of the engine), its just that they are cheap looking, IMO, and their resale value drops like a rock.

I've been driving and owning cars for about 30 years now and my Duramax is the first chevy I've bought. The rest were pretty much all Fords. I love it, got the Edge juice and 4" exhaust & K&N. The Ford 6.0 diesel was just coming out when I bought mine in 03, and they have had a bunch of problems with it so I'm happy with my choice. I pull a 25' 5th wheel and a 14' sled bed behind that with 4 atv's on it, through nasty Montana passes, steep and 7000' high, not a problem at all.

im not knocking on the gmc, but in every test ever published, the ford was always rated higher in pullin power; maybe you drove a turd. i know before i bought my truck the ford i drove sucked. i took it back less than a mile later. my cousin has a FORD powerstroke and it has tons of power. nail it at 60 and it will go sideways. it literally hauls @ss.

i do like the duramax it is the only GM product i would buy now; they dont make the engine(isuzu does i believe) and they dont make the tranny- allison has that duty. (just had replace my tranny in the chevy- it wasnt cheap and had less than 49.5K on it. american made crap.)

Congratulations. You will enjoy it...those are great trucks. My father always had 1/2 ton pickups before he bought our Super Duty with the 7.3 Powerstroke. Now the whole family is hooked on diesels and won't go back!

Put a 4 in. exhaust, free flowing air cleaner, and Hypertech programmer on your Duramax. Increased mileage, power, and thrill factor. Mileage does suffer a bit when you are showing off, but I love the sound of that exhaust!

i don't think they look cheap and who cares if it's got a great diesel under the hood

I believe Chevy is making the duramax in their Ohio plant now, Isuzu just designed it and did the initial production.
