Nothing wrong with the WW. Some of the others are about equal to or better in quality and offer the same or more features with different or better designs and layouts for the same money. Not to mention that I had a bad experience with one of their service managers and they never did get the repairs correct.

BKrukow, I took the liberty of converting your text to a link to make it a little easier for us all to view. Hope you don't mind. You're on DTR also, aren't you?

I still have two of the problems but it's going in after the first of the year for an unrelated minor fix and I'll be pointing out to them the original problems. Warrior built a service facility alot closer to my house so at least now I don't have to drive to Perris.
Posted by: LTZ
My dealer was great. I brought it to them originally for the repairs but Warrior wanted to do it themselves and wouldn't authorize my dealer to them. I think I would prefer the dealer in this case..............

I've seen a few people posting nice prices for the big Sierras (25-28K). Seem like a nice unit. But I really never spend enough time in a toy hauler to really gauge how nice they are. I'm usually just using the oven. LOL

LOL! Once you get out of that tentYou will really appreciate the comforts or a home on wheels However, for yourself, a 21 footer would work just finehr>
Are you gonna buy it for me? LOL j/k
I wouldn't even think about anything more than one of those Scorpions behind the F-150. It's "Tow Rating" is only like 6500. The Scorpions are about like 7500 GVWR, if that. But they are pretty much just a flat bed trailer. I'd be racing the snails up Cuesta!
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
I was really impressed with the Scorpion that I saw. A lot nicer inside than most popups are.
Posted by: Scootergptx
Seriously was looking at the Scorpion. Went and saw a 2005 model at a dealer. The deck for the vehicles was awesome. The pop up part was, well ok. But then he was going to give me a "deal". Only 14995, and they would have someone come out and fix the tear in the canvas. Now this was the biggest of the models that they have, and it wasn't bad. The interior had no place to sit except the bed. The beds are about 3 feet off the ground. My wife is 5' 4', so she couldn't sit on the bed and put her shoes on. And at that price, I figured I could find a hard sided hauler. Found a company that makes a Mega Lite trailer. Same price as the Scorpion. Sent a dealer an email, so I hope to find out more about it.
Posted by: Scootergptx
The 2006 Scorps are pretty nice. Added and actual oven instead of microwave, and have a bench seat too. But still think they are way overpriced. Not big on the toilet, I know what I'm capable of. Think you could buy a bigger pop up, take off the axle and mount sideways on an extremely beefed trailer and still come out ahead. Plus if you ever plan to trade it in or sell it, you're in for a big loss.
Could also be the salesman that showed it to me was a total jackass. Between him and his manager, I wouldn't go back to put air in my tires there.

I need to get around the forum more oftenYou are correct about equal or better quality. But is it at the same price? Some are more $$$ And I think I remember you posting about your problem with WW. I thought they resolved the issue

man you guys have me worried now, im having a weekend warrior superlite fs2500 built and now im worried about my f150 pulling it. i have 4x4 but is that gonna be enough? i have put a power chip, throttal body spacer exhaust, k&n intake on the truck so im hoping it will be able to pull it. im cheap so i only have the 5.4 motor. i was not willing to spend an extra 15000 to get the turbo diesel.
Posted by: 2BIG2BFAST
the trailor by itself weighs 4300 and can hold i think they said 3500lbs of cargo bikes and all the other crap. hopefully it will be ok. they said something about me taking my truck to a hitch dealer and have something installed on the truck so when your connected to the trailor its suposed to transfer some of the weight to the front of my truck. i asked if i could just put airbags on the rear of my truck and he said i really needed it whatever it is. any ideas of what it could be.
Posted by: 2BIG2BFAST
my truck came with the tow package. there is no bumper ball mounting for me, so what is this extra little piece that hooks up to the trailor? and does it stay attached to the trailor at all times? why cant the ww dealer install that piece to the trailor before they deliver it to me? my truck has the interchangeable recievers. double lip reciever , single lip , or the old ball on the reciever. so my truck should be good to go except i am gonna need the electric brake control hook up.

thanks for the help. it is much apreciated.. i did not have a clue what that guy from giant rv was talking about and then we were on the phone to add insult to injury. thanks again

What is the Best Toy Hauler For what i do.
There is about 6-10 of us that are always havin to race or we are loading up to go play. I want something with a liveing space- shower- crapper. It does not matter if it is bumper pull or goose neck. and it could even be a 5th wheel i have a big truck if i have to pull it with that. And the reason why i posted this there is not a place around here close to go look at one. and if you know i would like to have some prices. Thank you.
Posted by: BKrukow
Depends on what you want and how many of your budies you want to take along. I am leaning twards a goosneck like what is at the bottome of the link.(I cant figure out how to make it a link so you will have to cut and paste.)

They are abought 20 minutes from my house and have a VERY large selectiojn of diferent types and brands of toy haulers on hand. They roll there stock over very fast so they are always getting new diferent models in. They had one with a slide out as well. That is sweet. I know the camper based ones have slide outs available and offer more living space but I think in the end this is the rout I will go. They pull better and are built way heavier and sit lower. They are also WAY cheaper then a comprable camper based unit.
This is the unit I wish I could aford rite now, but will have to wate till the truck is paid for. I balive they said it is around $27k. Not an exact quote but a guestamate buy the owner of the company when talking to him at a fair this summer.
Trailer
Take some time to look threw there inventory, they have a lot of units and some of the smaller(18-20ft) bumper mount ones start around $7k.

Hey thanks. Some day I need to learn how to do that. Ya I spend 99%of my time on the internet on DTR and the remainder on a few diferent atv sites. The only thing more addicting than moding atvs is moding my truck. Good thing for the wife haveing to hand out the money or I would be way broke after spending a few minutes in the Performance fourum over there.

I've had my Sierra Sport 38' 5th Wheel for 2 years now, no complaints and it is in perfect shape!! The key is to find what options you want, the layout then find one in your price range. I personally have had a Carson Fun Runner. Pretty much a cheap, basic hauler. I didn't beat it up, took care and serviced it and had no problems in the 3 years I had it. Some might say my Sierra is middle of the road, but it's fully loaded though no slides, but has dual air, I installed some IKEA hardwood in the kitchen, and it looks great inside and out....all for a MSRP of $28,950...

Check out the Predator by Spirit RV in Hemet,CA. Their product is top notch and their service is second to none. The price's are very resonable. I have the 24ft with the front bedroom and dual electric rear beds. I ve been real happy with mine.

Walkers four seasons out my way (Victor NY) has scorpions for 11,995
just thought I'd throw that out there,
Was actually looking to see one for myself. I have a nice pop up and a nice toy hauler (flatbed snowmobile trailer -4-place)
but it would be nice to do both without having to take 2 vehicles.

Back to the original question, a great toy hauler for the money is made by Carson ... in CA, I think.

good call on the equalizer. I've used the chains and an equalizer hitch. Go to http://www.equalizerhitch.com/ and check it out, i really liked the stability and durability of the hitch.

The KZ brands are versitle and well built. The website is www.kz-rv.com. If money is no object then www.aluminumtrailer.com makes some top notch trailers and can customize them however you want.

How much will the trailer wiegh? No matter what anyone says the hardest thing about pulling is stopping power. Makes sure that you set up the electric brakes correctly. F150's pull fine. I had one and I did step up to a V10 superduty later but it was a luxury not a necesity. I hand a enclosed wells cargo trailer with 6 1/2' feet of interior height so it would catch air and drag me down in a head wind. I had the nose cone installed and it made a difference. I even saw a 1mpg increase.

It is a weight distributing hitch. Most people refer to them as reciever hitches. Does your truck allready have a reciever hitch on it or the factory tow package? They are a part of the factory tow package. If it does then there is an additional piece that you can add that mounts to the trailer to transfer weight to all four wheels and help the tongue from bouncing the back of the truck. It cost about $400 to $500 and I would shop around. Most RV dealers have them. If you are going to be over 6500 or 7000lb or so loaded I would definately do it. It will really improve the control over the whole load. Remember if it is transferring some of the weight to the front wheels that will help keep the truck from wandering the road in the wind and stop better. I definately would not pull a trailer that heavy from the ball on the bumper. It is probably only rated for 5000lb. The proper hitch will do more than airbags will.

Yep. Your truck is good to go. Definately get the electric brake controller and load the trailer up as it will be used and go find a empty parkinglot at a highschool footbal stadium and dial in the adjustment on the controller. The dealer should be able to sell you the piece for the trailer. It will be a two bars and a drawbar for the truck with two holes. One on each side of the ball. Essentially two L shaped leaf springs go in to the bars and then attach to the trailer tongue with chains. Get who ever you by it from to show you how to hook it up. My uncle would hitch up his trailer and then crank the jack up all the way. Then he would attach the chains with no slack in it and let the jack down. This pre loads the springs from the beginning. This method has always worked for me but check with you specific hitch dealer. Go to www.draw-tite.com and go to products, then weight distrobution, then either "round bar" or "Trunion". There will be a picture there also.
