I have 35's on my 03 HO Auto Cummins w/ 393 or 39something gears and tow a 23ft Weekend Warrior weighing 7400lbs loaded w/ everything. I live out west where flat ground is non existant. I get 10mpg doing 75-80. I want to get where I'm going so I don't baby the pedal and worry about an extra one or two mpg..

I'm in need of new tires and my 92 f350 tires are in need of replacement. Currently I have 33x12.5x16.5 bfg at and 4.10 ratio. These tires are far a few nowadays. I would like to stick with bfg's and I really don't want to fork out $ for new rims. I've got a regular 5x8 trailer and will eventually upgrade to a toy hauler in a year or two.
Anybody out there tow trailers with 35 inch tires?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hey LTZevil....
Thanks. I wish I could run 37's, but I'd have to worry about rubbing. I have a 5.5" Fabtech Lift with Eagle Alloy Series 172 in 18x9 with LT325/65R18 Toyo Open Country A/T tires. The shocks are being upgraded to the new Fabtech Dirt Logic 2.5's with res.
I'm affraid I may rub. I'm doing 355/65/18 with Eagle 064 18x10 and a ProComp 5.5 with Bilstien 5100 shocks. My tire guy and my lift guy both say they don't think they'll rub but I don't believe them. Hopefully they'll be right.....

The back space on mine are 4.5". What are yours?

mm will be the offset. The BS should be in inches I believe.

HA ha, yeah tell me about it!! Also thanks for the info on the shocks. I called my lift guy and he checked into it for me and the rezzi shocks aren't available for our trucks because the shocks sit in a "bucket" and there is noway for them to route the line to the rezzi. The Bilstiens that I wanted are a pain in the a$$ to locate right now so I'm going with the ProComp MX6 9 way adjustables for the same price. Thanks!!!

When you start adding power to these trucks you need to be a little gentle on the go pedal. What I mean is try not to stand on it from a dead stop all the time, no boosted launches or four wheel drive launches. After you get going you can hammer it more! The tranny can take alot of abuse but eventually, being the weak link, it's gonna give. As for your ?? on do the chips work, he!! yeah they work. You just need to do your homework and choose the right one. Just wanted to add that this is for diesels, gassers don't respond to chips like a diesel.

I would say that you're going to need to get some gears. Probably up a size. Looks like a 4.56:1 if it will fit.

But it is a diesel, with a chip upgrade. I'm pushing about 400hp and 725 ft/lbs torque.
If nothing else, get rid of the 16.5" wheels. The bead doesn't lock in those, so you can't air them down as much.
725 ft lbs with only a chip upgrade? That number sounds a little high.

As was already said, stock I'm pushing 325 hp and 610 ft/lbs torque.
The Edge EZ adds 65hp and 150 ft/lbs torque.
Add it up and you're looking at 390 hp and 760 ft/lbs torque.
I tend to understate things but this is as accurate as I can get at this point.
Well in that case I have a few questions if you dont mind answering.
How is your tranny holding up? I would love to get that kind of power out of my truck but I am to worried about screwing something up.
Have you had any problems running it?
I have been looking for somebody that has a chip in their truck to get some feed back from (cant believe everything you read on the internet).
Also do you notice a big difference (is it worth the money)?
Thank you

The Super Duty in my pics page has 38' Super Swampers and she'll still pull anything. But then again its a diesel with a chip, full intake, and exhaust.

Even at the SEMA show last year, all the Dodges on display with 6" lifts and 37" tires rubbed. A lot of it is the offset on the wheels, which is hard to find. Mine were recommended by Eagle as the best fit for my truck with the proper weight rating, but I still want the 37's. Let me know if yours rub. When I was over at Fabtech, they had a 3500 there with 37's that didn't rub. Don't know what wheels he had though.
Your lift sounds pretty cool. Be sure to post some pics when you're done.
BTW: Did you know that ProComp is offering an upgrade on their standard shocks to resevoir shocks for $200 with purchase of lift kit?
HERE'S a copy of the ad in case you're interested.

It's supposed to be +2mm....I think. If I remember, I'll climb under and check later.

Man it's been a long day.....BR>
The BS is 5". Sorry about the confusion.

That sucks. I followed up with ProComp Tech and they said the same thing. I guess the shock still mounts inside the coil.
The 6-way adjustable shocks look pretty nice though. I wish mine were adjustable. I also added airbags to the rear of the truck for towing.
On the front of my truck, I have the dual shock hoop, with the limiting strap inside the coil. So I can run the rezzies, which they're fabbing as we speak.
You can see a picture of the shocks HERE.

LTZEvil said it pretty well.
The Edge EZ has three performance settings. Under normal driving conditions, I run it on 3. It actually gets better mileage there...amd performance. When towing, I run it on level 1, because the EGT's are much higher when towing, and I end up with a Check Engine light otherwise. Which, brings an important point up, GUAGES! You gots to have da guages!!!! I have an EGT and Boost, though to be honest, I wish I had a spot for a Tranny guage too. Those three are important if you're planning on chipping your truck. I also run synthetic fluids throughout. A good intake and exhaust will also help, not just in performance, but in keeping the EGT's within reasonable levels.
As for performance, it does make a noticable difference both during normal driving and while towing. As an example, this past weekend I was towing my 12k lb trailer up an 8 mile long 6.5% grade outside of Bishop and easily holding 50-55mph.

I've been running 35s on my 2002 F250 (V10) since new. No problems pulling trailer (1400 lbs) with ATVs (2 Polaris Sportsman - 1500+ with extra junk) or cars (2600-4000 lbs) on the trailer for a combine weight of 2900 to 5400 pounds.

I have an 89 gmc 1500 with a 350, 35's, and a tow package in the tranny and I have absolutely no problems towing. I had 10,000 pounds of firewood in my 2000 lb trailer/ my 8 foot bed and i was towing all this going down the highway doing 45mph at about 2300 rpm. I wouldn't tow anymore then that though because while i was backing the truck down my sideyard I was trying to stop and my whole front end was lifted off the ground and my front tires were in the air lol.
