I think the wheels are too small. I had a trailer with 12 inch wheels and had 3 bow outs in one season. Now I have a new trailer with 15 inch 6 ply trailer tires. (m no problem)<B>

I stay away from those teeny wheels on trailers. I always go with the biggest ones I can get, because I tow at about 80 mph half the time. The thought of little tires at high rpm bugs me, for the heat factor the tires would go through. One of those babies de-lams at speed you got a mess gettin started.

I agree with all the above. Been there, done that. Never again!
I also tow through a hot desert at higher speeds and when a tire blows it's never a good thing.

does anyone know of any issues with Featherlite Trailers and the 8" wheels that come on them? i have a chance to buy one for a good price and i'm a bit concerned about the wheels. the person that has it for sale has driven it quite a bit on the interstate with no issues and the local dealer says that the 8" wheels aren't an issue with normal maintenance. if it makes any difference, this is a '99 model trailer. thanks for any input.
