Hey leave my Daewoo alone. Just because a PSD could carry the thing in the bed.... well some could. Not necessarily legally though. I actually drove it to work today. Had a tire fixed yesterday and the rebalanced it. Nice. Doesn't shake at 55MPH now. Just a little bit at 80. hehehe. Hey, I didn't realize...I got into it to get on the ramp, then had to pass some idiot doing like 60.... So what if it's a 3 lane freeway each way.

now that's really scary, cuz I'm sure you don't take off your belt for kids except for your own perverted reasons (based on your previous posts).

i'm here and I'm watching. you just haven't had anything useful or witty for me to dignify with a response. In fact, i'm surprised some of your perverted discussions haven't been nuked by the censors. Toyo and Hoss are clearly disturbed and in need of deep psychotherapy, but that Flanders is just a plain old, freaky knob. he really scares me... a lot. 1. traveling in a prohibited area on the canal vio. 21116 vc,
2. He placed the children in harms way. Possibly violating 273a P.C. which could go as a misd. or a felony. Say an accident happenedhe children would be stuck in their respective car seatsow, say he rolled the quad into an orchard or field. Its only $55,000

4kicks, Each county is a little different on how traffic tickets are handled. For the most part, If she has a chance to go to traffic school, I would say do it. So, if the traffic violation is in another county, I believe she is eligible. But, confirm this with whatever firm/class she wants to enroll in. And, I'd make sure she takes the class in the county the citation was issued in.
Now, as far as the radar unit. Each unit is a little different. I would think the unit used would be a lazar unit. With this type, you use it like a gun, point and shoot. It shoots out a lazar beam that returns to the unit, after, it's reflected on the object, it was pointed at. So, if the officer was using this type of unit, and used it correctly, Hard to dispute, what she was shooting it at. Now, if the radar was a "wave" that sent out a "wave" looking for a target. Then, it is possible, that the car tailgating your wife, was the target that the unit detected. Proving this, is another story.
As I read your version, of what your wife told you. It sounds like with the right commissioner, she might get offp here, with one of ours, I would say, she'd have a good chance of walking.
As far as the officer not showing, could/could not happen. Doesn't matter if it's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 5th continuanceays the sameno matter what. We receive a subpoena for that date. Therefore, we don't want to "FTA" ourselves. Then we have to answer to the courts and our superiorsas to why.
In 18 years. I've never FTA'd.
As far as, the officer FTA'ing" and the District Attorney's Office prosecuting? Not going to happen in California. She was cited on a traffic infraction. The issuing officer is the prosecutor. So, if she/he "FTA's" then the citation is dismissed (usually).
Getting a copy of the citation and the officers notes? Sure, you can get a copy of the citation. But, his notes. Not without a subpoena. Officers handle their citations differently, some write enough information on the front, some like me, narrate the information on the back. Others, give no informationBR>
Now, If that county is a stickler on once you pick going to trial, you loose your right to traffic school. Then, I would seriously think about going to traffic school so, it doesn't effect my insurance. If, the county is like ours, they don't care what state law saysthey will give you the out, after being found guilty and let you go to traffic school anyways. SO, you have to weigh what you really want to accomplish. Fight the officer and it's possible you will loose or save some cash in the long run and go to school and pay the fine, but you do, save the points off your license.
As to why you loose your right to traffic school, if you fight your citation? It's suppose to help unclog the court system. Majority of people cited did violate the lawtherwise, why would we pull them over and issue a citationNo reason for replies here)t costs money to hear your case, and the fine does not pay for everyone that particpates in "your day in court" I think, if you want to take it to court and you loose, you should pay for court fees and officers fees. The $100 (approx)fine doesn't pay for the system to work properly. And I believe, if you win, the appropriate jurisdiction, should compensate YOU, for your timeBR>
Wish You luck. MD

I thought the constitution gave an accused the right to confront their accuser? How can this be circumvented by the DA reading the officer's report/notes? that's hearsay! the DA wasn't there. you could question/request the service records for the radar instrument used to pronounce your alleged guilt. it also has to be checked for accuracy (before every use??).
good thing Toyo wasn't the cop, you're wife might be hanging from a tree in good 'ol frontier justice!
I don't agree on the court dates. Court date(s) are set by the courts. Each department is given a date and time to appear and can't change them. It is conceivable, that everyone cited that day, by that officer will be in court, on the same day. But, we don't pick the date or time. Around here, depending on what court your cited to, your date is 30 days out, taking into account weekends and holidays.
You do have the right to face your accuser. However, in a preliminary hearing, the Prosecutor can have your report read by another officer and then, that officer can testify for you. There are some preliminary things that need to be done to do this. But, around here, it's not a problem. It happens everyday. But, on a infraction, the officer, is the prosecutor, therefore, he does need to be there. D.A. prosecutes, misd. and feloniesCity Attorney or County Counsel, prosecute municiple codes or county ordinances accordinglyBR>
On the radar unit, yes, they need to be calibrated. I can only think as a motor officer, she knows this and does this everytime. They are really versed in this. It's their job, they are a motor officer. They live for traffic violationsBR>

Don't weave in and out of traffic
Stay out of the number 3 lane(outside lane) to pass cars.
Don't lead the pack, (occasionally)let cars pass you by, if at all possible.
Use your turn signals.
Tap your brakes to tailgaters, then, move over and let them pass.
If the officer is behind you, he (hopefully)will see your brake lights flashing and possibly target the tailgater.

Hey I loved CHiPs when I was growing up! Haven't seen it in a few years though.
I try to take the 5MPH rule. Don't go faster than 5MPH over the limit. Only place I really really watch for the CHP is out on "The Racetrack" as I call it. Highway 41 between Lemoore and Kettleman City. Usually see 2 -3 officers when I come back from Pismo and it takes about 30 minutes to drive that stretch of road. See maybe one between Kettleman and Paso Robles and that's about another hours drive.
I have yet to get a ticket. <beats on desk> Close call going to Pismo a couple trips back....flew passed a CHP officer sitting under an overpass at Madonna Rd. in SLO. Luckily he bailed at Los Osos Valley Rd. I was wizzinging along at 65 with a trailer. eek.
Just the other day they closed 41 between Cholame and Reef City (41&33) due to a 7 car pileup including a big rig around Cottonwood Pass (I think that's what they were calling it). DOH. 2-Lane highway. Traffice diverted on I-5 and Highway 33 south to 46. ICK. That's got to add an hour to the drive.

No bein a sissy. HAMMER DOWN DRIVER!!! The renagage speed patrol civillians are the ones that piss me off and i wanna kill them. If your not passin get over. Dont drive 60 in the left lane if the middle or right lane is doin 62. I think the speed should be 60 right land 65 middle 70 left 75 carpool so the more lanes the faster it is. graduated limits. and if you cought in the left lane goin slower than the right lane unless its in the traffic zones you get a hefty fine of like 250 bucks.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Hell if you drivin the PSD down the Highway and you got 3.73 gears and your in overdrive it wants to cruise at 70 - 75 real nice.

drives me crazy if I'm goin 80 plus in the fast lane and someone (driving a BMW 325 most of the time) comes up behind me and starts flashing his (mostly hers) lights wanting me to move over. Buddy, if you want to drive faster than that, you need to go around me 'cause I ain't moving over.

The thing with CA is we have this weird idea that it's a good idea to mix 80,000 18-wheelers traveling at 55MPH with automobiles weiging in at 4000-5000lbs traveling 55, 60, 65 or 70MPH. Generally the big rigs have to stay in the right lane(s). IIRC 2 lane in one direction they are limited to the right lane unless overtaking another vehicle. On 3 lane in one direction I'm slightly confused on whether they are allowed to travel in the middle lane or only allowed to pass. On 4 lanes they can travel in the right two lanes. Now all that gets thrown out the window in Truck Contol Lanes. I know there is one on Freeway 99 going through Fresno where the center lane is a Truck Control Lane. So I have guess 3 lane is the same as 2 lanes.
Most of the big rigs here run 60MPH up and down the highway (99). Sometimes you'll get some doing 55 (generall the Wally-World guys) or doing 65. I usually figure if there's a pack running 65 then the PoPo isn't anywhere to be found. If they are running 55 means they are crawling all over the place. And if I see a shadow from above on the freeway...mean they are watching from above.
I think MD can answer this, when they run air patrol how do they clock you? Do they use a stop watch and markers on the ground? Cause IIRC, they aren't allowed to use embedded sensors. Seems like matching speed would be a bugger. But with GPS they can see what they actual ground speed is, as compared to just the air speed.
On that note, did anyone hear about the dude getting the ticket for doing 205 on a crotch rocket? Happened in the midewest, IIRC. Wow. I can only imagine the fine. He was clocked from the air via marks and a stop watch. Obviously he got a free ride to the Gray Bar Hotel for that move.

MD, who was questioning your integrity? or was that just a general comment? I agree if you can't believe the police, who can you believe. but over the past few years I've never seen such huge deteoration in police credibility. the lying and cover-ups have been awful, locally. a few brief examples: an "accused" child molester/murderer (Shannon Murrin) got off his charge cuz the police flagrantly lied and were contradicted on the stand. they arranged to have him beaten by neighbors, then lied about it.
a loser died while being arrested. 2 police officers gave a BS sugar-coated version, 1 independent witness (who was a credible person) said the officer pistol-whipped the guy on the back of the neck after being hand-cuffed, causing his fatal injury. nothing close to that came out in police testimony.
a group of officers took some low-level, low-life drug dealers to a park and kicked the crap outta them, then lied.
In all 3 occasions, I probably would have done the same as the police outta frustration, or just wanting some good 'ol vigilante justice that our pussy system won't administer. And i wouldn't want to walk a mile in the policeman's shoes to deal with day-in/day -out scumbags and not at least get to adminster the occasional baton-whack to the back of some deserving puke's head. but don't fabricate a string of BS when ya get caught. OR, have a better plan and cover story, cuz ya sure lose all integrity and credibility when ya get caught.
BTW, i have friends that have left RCMP general duties cuz of repeatedly dealing with the lowest of the low, and volunteered for traffic duty (which is considered by some cops to be the graveyard of policing). They tell me the clientele in traffic are mostly all good, honest hard-working folk that get nuked for traffic violations. nicer to deal with, even if they're po'ed about getting a fine and get yappy sometimes. don't have to worry as much about wrestlin an outta control junkie and getting poked with an aids infested needle.
my old (now retired) partner was a former RCMP. He was first stationed in remote Alberta after finishing RCMP training in Regina. You mostly wrestle drunk indians in those places. For traffic court they had a "magistrate". He wasn't a judge or ex-lawyer, he was a local businessman who owned a car dealership in the area. One time a kid disputed a ticket and he asked him, "How do you plead?" The kid said, "Not guilty." The magistrate replied,"If ya weren't guilty, you wouldn't be here now, would ya?!" Gotta love the old west justice of yesteryear!
As for our traffic court, it's completely slanted against the person. Conviction rate is high 90%. They ALWAYS believe police PERIOD. I had a dispute where my plate # was written down wrong. there were other flaws in the charge, but i didn't argue them cuz generally, whatever is written on the ticket MUST be proved. The judge (woman) said, the cop just made a mistake, you're still guilty. I'm like, "well DUH!, that's why you dismiss the charge!"Since when did they start using common sense!? It shoulda been a walk for me. PLUS, our risk of disputing is that you can get a much stiffer penalty, usually a much higher fine than what the cop originally issued. Especially if you have any prior tickets.
Yep, you have a much better chance of getting away with murder or rape than a traffic offence. I think it's got a lot to do with the revenue it brings in. They want to send a message: don't bother disputing cuz ya wouldn't be here if you weren't guilty. there is some truth to it, but whatever happened to a fair and unbiased trial/hearing?

Trasher I know what you mean. I usually try to run the middle lane and not bob and weave as it just screams "I'm speeding! Give me a ticket!" But some people just HAVE to get by you and can't wait. Usually it happens to me on a road where it's 2 lane in one direction. THough I get over when I can. Usually run 70 on a 65MPH road. That's if it's normal traffic and not insane bumper to bumper. It gets bumper to bumper around here and it slows WAY down.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
skid-mark head, I'm with Toyo on this. show some courtesy, get outta the way for the fast ones and then you can go back into your lane at your pace. your way of thinkin is the exact same for the granny doin 62; she thinks that's fast enough, so go around. I always move over for someone who wants to pass PROVIDED it's not bumper to bumper traffic. my buddy from Canada moved down to LA and was telling me they have the best drivers in the world there, mostly cuz of the right to bear arms. he said he was driving the way you just described, "i'm going fast enough , so go around me". The next light ( I guess it wasn't a freeway), the guy pulled up beside him and was tapping his gun on his steering wheel. never pointed it at my bud, but he got a good driving lesson that day, and now when he's going 85mph, if someone wants to pass him, he moves over toute-suite (french, for RIGHT NOW), nd then moves back into the lane.
nope, gotta disagree with ya on that one.

A) If your gonna beat the crap outta the suspect, Say i beat the crap outta him because he was selling drugs to little children and he deserved to die but i will leave that part of it to the discrescion of the court.
B) You dont wanna live in a pussified Socialist society!! Vote Bush/Cheney!!!its good to have canadian support!
C) Canadian courts got the revenue system right. if ya goto court you get stiffer penalties thus lowering the overhead to process the ticket under the origional fine BR>
D) would you quite reffering to business associates as partners. with all this Homo crap goin on i keep getting this picture in my head about you and your "Partner" Boofing the exit. its just not pretty. The G!AYS have ruined some innocent terms.

It's very rare I ever see a trucker pulling 70 around here. That's just asking to be bent over. Not sure up there, but I believe in CA for commercial lic. you get 1.5x points and double fines. And ther are certain circumstances for commercial licenses where you commercial lic. will be revoked for certain offenses...like if someone gets hurt and you were doing something illegal. Of course DUI you auto lose your lic. no matter what (commercial or regular) but the commercial guys can't ever get it back. They can get a Class C, but that's it. BAC is also limited to 0.01% (as it is for anyone under 21.)
I had a friend who had his Class A, got stopped for going over the limit line at a railroad crossing in a regular car. Still got dinged for $1200 in fines. BR>
This is going back to the traffic school thing a couple pages back: My friend who got nailed pulling that trailer while speeding wasn't able to take traffic school. She had a ticket 6 mos. prior in another county. Though the fact she was pulling a trailer maybe that had something to do with it. First ticket was in Kings County (maybe Tulare County as she worked in Visalia) and the second ticket was in Kern County.

LMAO @ Toyo on the partner thing. I worked for a non-profit HIV service provider (generating reports and fixing computers) so I was one of 2 straight guys that worked there. The other 4 or 5 guys were g!ay. 3/4 of the women were lesbian. So I pretty much automatically connect "partner" to "lover" or significant other. Unless I know for a fact that someone is talking about a business partner. I always refer to business partners as business partner. Ok, that's lame. dbeck can you PLEASE take it out of the filter? anyways, who are we to judge confused's sexual preference, as long as he drives a PSD, and doesn't have any kinky encounters in it with his boyfriends.

There is no way that he was doing 205. Its just not possible on that bike.
Straight from the guys mouth:
All right, I was the one who got the ticket and it is time to clear some things up. For one, I was riding a 2003 Honda RC51, "heavily modified" with 2 Brothers slip on pipes and, well thats all the mods I have unless you count the "I stop for wh***s" sticker. Next, the bike wasn't impounded, it was towed so it wouldn't be in the roadway. Ok, on to the tickets. 205...uh no. I am personal friends with the owner of "Hitman Motorsports" and tonight, Sept. 22, we did a top speed run on his dyno, in 6th gear, and maxed nearly 60mph slower than I was arrested for. The "no motorcycle endorsement" is because my licence was expired, I do have a motorcycle endoresement for all you people digging into me about that. The stop watch method may be accurate at times, but this is un-conceivable for my motorcycle to approach 205. Honda's RC211v, which is Honda's MotoGP race bike, 5 cyclinders and 268 horespower, just broke 200mph on the track within the last week. And we are talking about a 1/2 to 3/4 million dollar bike. And for you gear-heads, I had on Joe Rocket Boots, Shoei helmet, Leather gloves, Ballistic coat, and leather bottoms. Also, both of us were arrested, and no, the slower one did not get a warning, he was ticketed for 111mph on a F4i. I hope this clears things up for everybody, I am just sick of everyone saying things about what they dont know, making me look like this horrific person. People speed, and if anyone knows anything about the "Flood Run" (which was the ride I was on, which by the way benefits the Gillettes Children Fund) I would be a hell of a lot more concerned about the 7,000 bar-hopping motorcyclist out on the road. 99% of the people you hear things from are misinformed. If you have questions, I will answer them. And one last note, this is information you don't know, the pilot who clocked me, was clocking me, the F4i, and flying his plane at 110mph all at the same time. Think about that for a second.
More quotes from other people:
"Sport riders verified top speed of an RC51 with a pro rider is 163.
Thats in leathers which are much more aerodynamic than what the guy was wearing....who knows how big he is. as we both know aerodynamics play a major role.
Id say he was probably going 150-160...those RCs dont have much top end."
Another quote from the rider:
TO answer some questions this happened about 5-6 miles south of Wabasha on 61 heading towards Winona. I haven't talked to the flood run organizers, however the officers did say they were there because they knew the event was taking place and they have had a history of "excessive speeders" on the last stretch down to Winona. And while we were on the side of the road, I would estimate 200-300 bikers passed us, but no one pulled over. And in response to Merlin509, there are some decent steches on that road, but even if my bike did do 205, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable. And the stretch down to Treasure Island you are talking about, one of my old roomates was killed on that road earlier this year.
And on the subject of this stopwatch calculation, you have to sit back and think, and believe me I have done a lot of this, about human reaction time, the fact that he was running two stop watches and flying his plane at the same time, his degree of angle on my when I crossed the hash-marks on the road, plus depth-perseption. I really do appreciate everyones feedback on this, and I will keep everyone informed."

Thanks for the heads up on that power. I received it as a link on a news site. I'm thinking it was ABC. I guess we can sh!t can them along with CBS for getting the story right.
The story didn't say what kind of bike he was running but I know some of the higher end sport bikes can flat out get up and boogie. The fact that it only pulled 140MPH on a dyno tells you it sure as heck wasn't going 205. The dyno would be pure gearing. No aerodynamic drag. Maybe someone saw 140MPH on the ticket and thought they popped him for going 140 MPH OVER the speed limit.

Even CNN says 205. Thats what they all said and thats what he was ticketed for. I think the officer was deffinatly wrong on this. The fastest racing RC51 was only clocked at 175... So unless this guy has some MAJOR power adder that 205 that they got is totally wrong.
Kinda feal sorry for the guy.

Here's the ticket.
Should be interesting to find out what happens. Somebody isn't being honest. Either the officer goofed up, or the guy is lieing about the bike (i.e. it's heavily modified.) People are comparing what some pro riders did on a closed course. The thing is, those are closed, meaning turns. Depends on how long of a straight this was he was on. The gearing and the rev limit of the bike is what should have showed on the dyno. I.e. it should have shown what the speed at redline would be with the gearing.

ya, i never thot anyone would misinterpret my former "business" partner as a turdpuncher. we were 49.5/50.5 shareholders in a limited company, until i bought him out. so partner just seems like a natural reference. but now that every word i use is under the microscope, i'll be more careful. and i'll continue to overlook everyone else's bad spelling and worse grammar. it's that darn Toyo.. he's trouble. BR>
we had a car in the city caught going 300Km/h. there were all these fad shirts being worn after that said, Vancouver: Speed Limit 300 (in huge numbers). but this 205 mph is obviously flawed. still, he was flying even if it was 140mph.

Skinner, 5 mph over is a safe speed, especially where radar is usedI'm confortable at 10 over, but, that's because everyone else is usually doing 15+ over. If, I'm pulling my trailer, I'll do about 65-68. Again, I'm traveling pretty safe and still getting passed by fellow trailers going 80mph+ Remember, watch what's going on around you. Skinner, Generally, Trucks are limited to the right or slow lane. Unless, they are passing and can do so within 1 mile(yea, rightThey can only use the #2 lane, if: it's posted. This is usually in City limits or heavy on ramp traffic areas. This helps merging traffic. And, vehicles over 10,000 lbs are prohibited from using the #1 lane or fast lane. Exceptions are Commercial Buses. ie. greyhound
A lot of your slower trucks have governors on them. The big boss watches how fast they eccelerate, rpm's, avg mph etc. I'm sure, PA, can elaborate more on that. A trucker friend of ours, hated it in one of his trucks. Felt it was unsafe for him as he traveled the open road.
On aircrafts, they time you between 2 points. If you look on the shoulders, you will see white marks. They time how fast you travel between those two points and cite you accordingly. Also, if you get a ticket by airI would just pay the ticket. They are the most professional presenters in court I have ever seenOf course, besides meThey have all the case laws (pertaining to air enforcement) out there and can shoot down any defense you can throw at themBR>And on the crotch rocket? Here, he would of went to jailAny speed over 100 mph is a misd. And speed like that, would be an easy reckless

I just logged on for the first time today so I'll throw some garbage out and see what sticks.
Yeah I thought the fine on that guy was pretty cheap. I do think he said he got arrested as well. Talking to a guy I've ridden with who's an Alamdeda Sherrif says the fines are the same no matter how fast, until you go triple digit at which time they give you a "free ride."
I do tend to see what else is around me. Somebody in a flashy vehicle, souped up import, etc. I was behind a guy and we were on the racetrack coming back from Pismo. I was tugging a little 5x8 trailer. He was in a lifted truck of some kind with heavy tints on the window. CHP got a couple cars behind him (turning on 41 off one of the county roads). I seen the back lights light up (but not the light bar) and knew somebody was getting a ticket.
Had a friend who got popped for an infraction (not a fix-it) for having heavy tint on his truck. CHP officer told him he had done that and it wasn't from the factory so he wasn't giving him a fix-it ticket for it. I think it was a couple hundred. He had a few ticket written off by a friend for blue neon under the truck and tint.
Well I'll be out riding tomorrow with LJ as he got the 'Lander back on Friday. woohoo. Maybe we'll get some pics at the top of the world and post em. Catcha later.

Skinner, Looks like everyone is doing something today. There are definately enough people out there that CHP can target besides mend big trucks from Pismo are a dime a dozen, raised to the sky, over sized tires with no mud flaps, tinted windows, pulling a trailer at mach2ailgating, list goes on. And I didn't even post, about the imports
In those fix it tickets, gotta watch out, signing off friends fix-its. Especially, if the system might show it's a continuing problem.
Going to 8,000' tomorrow. Should be niceI would need to rejet for a trip that high. Last trip to 5,000' I was pushing the performance on our quadsI need to work on our quads and get them ready for Pismo. Also need to weather proof, it for the winter rainsBR>

with our Employment Equity Act, the absolute worse thing you can be is caucasian and male when applying for the police. they want female and visible minorites. we sure do have lots of female cops here.
ya, that 205MPH guy got off easy but i still think there was a flaw in determining his speed. but the big reason he got off light was that his dad is senior cop of some kind..... and there is definitely a fringe benefit to being connected to the police either by being one or immediate family. MD if you get pulled over all you have to do is flash your tin and then it's a warning with a wink. alto you can't be doing something too outrageously stupid either.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
BTW, all our guys in the media spot-light were white-males, but that big screw-up on the child-murderer case was from the evidence of the female officer (she contradicted a senior cop plus the other cops; basically, she had high morals and told the truth).
even freakier on that case, one of the jurors ended up shacking up with the accused after he was aquitted. NOT to be confused with our more famous juror case (Gillian Guess), who was porking the accused murderer/gang member... DURING the trial.
Like ya said in an earlier post MD, almost all (like 99%) the accused are guilty, it's just a matter of proving it within the legal system. so why would this other juror want anything to do with a guy accused of brutally murdering a 4 year old girl, and leaving her body in a suitcase?

Tell me about a WMAWhen I got out of the military, CHP wouldn't even entertain taking a application from a WMABR>
As far as the dad helping him don't think so, the fine is written on the citation. So, I can only think, the fine is set by the Local Courts. Just like ours our. But, we don't put down fine amounts. Unless it's a parking cite or ordinance. And, I hardly do that. Bail/fine amounts change to often.
You can try to flash your badge and hope your dept. doesn't find out about it. They frown on things like thatlso, I have been cited for speeding, since I've been a deputy. We are not immune. It does happen.

did u get that ticket AFTER flashing tin? I can't believe fellow officer would be such a stickler. That I don't knowother then, there are really sick and stupid people in the worldBR>I know, we have a local case, where a female was a potential juror on a major case. Turned out, her boyfriend was sharing a cell, with the accused, on the case she was a potential juror on. Needless, to say, she was real stupid and tried to get money, to sit on that panel. Her mouth finally caught up with hernd, she went to jail on her own case.
I just can't answer that question.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
our traffic fines are basically pre-set depending on how much over you are. 10KMH over = $125., 20KMH= $170, 30= $250 (?,can't remember). BUT, a friend is a staff Sgt. in charge of an RCMP detachment. He said his directive to the members is to always give the minimum fine UNLESS the driver's actions were incredibly stupid, or the driver is a total mouth-piece-jerk. His theory is, they're already getting driver penalty points plus the ticket amount, and it's not your $$, so let it go at the minimum. And most cops do that, to make it sound like they're being nice and doing you a big favor. In other words, here's your MINIMUM ticket, it could be more, so shut up and quit whining!
So my last ticket? WOMAN cop. Remote mtn. hwy in the middle of nowhere, 4 lane divided. Because it's middle of nowhere and I'd never seen speed Nazis there before, I JUST accelerated to 25KMH (15 mph) over. I stop before she has to pull out from the chain up area where she'd been waiting, and I'm very cordial. realize i'm dead in the water. Don't name drop or try to talk my way outta it. What does the P(ermanently)MS beatch do? Gives me the $175 fine. I was choked. For that, i shoulda been rude and abusive, and kicked her in the crotch so hard, she coulda had a shoelace for a kid!

For us, we don't hand out fines/bail amount. We can use are discretion on how many violations we want to cite you for. Depends on seriousness of the violation, attitude, any priors, are you going to jail for something separate? maybe dope in the car or a warrant? A lot can sway the decision I make. But, I also make my decisions based on, not totally screwing someone either. Usless, of course, you deserve itAnd some doBR>

Finally got all settled after getting back. Shower was the first thing on the agenda as it was REALLY dusty up there. We rode for about 3 hours actual riding time...maybe. I'll post of a few choice pics in my gallery. Have to fix several as my camera has decided it wants to go on the fritz...or it's just an ID10T error which it could be. But I think a new one is in order. It just hasn't been right since I used it as a cussion during a crash.
About a 35 mile trip, I think. Had a lot of fun crawling up the route. About flipped over backwards one time. BR>

Toyo, How do you like the rebel digital? We have 2 rebels and love theme also have all the lenses to go with it. Hard to thnk aboout packing all that stuff on a ride. I hate it when the wife brings the camcorder on rides. Our digital is the Sony Cybershot 3.3
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
Mine is a Cannon PowerShot A70. Been a good camera. 256MB CF card in it.
I didn't have any problems with my bike running. I was cruising in 6th at 25MPH after I let LJ go ahead as the dust was hella nasty. The climb up the mountain on the trail was generally a 3rd gear affair when it was smooth, but 2nd and 1st were there a lot around the rocks and steaper stuff. I was worried about running rich and losing power (considering I haven't cleaned my filter in a little while) but I had no such problems. She ran beautifully the whole day. Fastest I got up to though was about 30 I think. Just isn't a great idea to fling yourself around those mountains at high speed.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
I dont have it yet I will be getting one though. I have used an EOS-10D Quite abit though. The rebel digital is a lil more compact body that the 1d or 10d. thats why i was considering that one. I am a canon man.

Toyo, I think our next camera will be the rebel digital ourselvesWe need another camera, like, I need a hole in the headWe must have around 8 of them.

Yep, she's completely stock. I've never had any problems with altitude. Not sure why. I figured she'd be slugish but she ran find to me. Maybe I just wasn't pushing her so she didn't show signs of altitude. I know when we started walking around on the rocks and climbing up the rocks to the lookout tower I was showing signs of altitude. LOL.

I think I'm just gonna have to go back up there and take some more pics to replace the overexposed ones. LJ wants to go up when they get some snow. Not too sure about THAT but with it being a little wet it should be nice. Get the freaking dust down. Now if I can just get some people to go up with us. Skid plates are mandatory. Mine was sure talking to me.

Sound like a fun runBut, sounds to technical for mell that rock climbing and such. And I would need to re jet too
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Yeah 10-4 you aint gonna see me goin above 4k feet. lol. I aint gonna rejet My biatch anytime soon. pain in the butt to sweet talk her outta her clothes. i ride at sea level to like i dunno i have to look at what capitol peak is. thats about high as i go.
Posted by: rescuediver
I learned that about 5,000 is max for the jet I'm running. So, from sea level to about 3,500 is niceonce you get 3,500 to 5,000 she starts acting upDefinately don't want to get into some technical stuff and have her cut out or loose total power. Can only feather her so much before she quits
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
Actually the climbing isn't bad. Coming down is just tough on the body from the droping. There's only one spot that I had to dismount cause I ended up with a tire in the air and felt bad things were going to happen.
I actually wouldn't hesitate taking anybody with a year of experience on a 250 or better 4-stroke up that trail. They just need to follow someone who knows how to pick a line to miss the nasty stuff. Just need to tell them how to ride the hills (up hill get on the tank) down hill get on the back end. If you have to cross over a hole shift your weight as you cross it. You do definately need to work the clutch though on a manual.
I guess it comes from riding the technical stuff at Miami that I didn't really have a fit up there. Just wish it wasn't 1.5 hr drive (67 miles or so) from home.
Posted by: nedflanders
all the best rides are 1-2 hours or longer, from home. the granite mtn looks cool.
i bought a used digital for the rides; Minolta 4.0 megapix, 4X optical zoom. only came with 16mb card, but i have extras. I paid $110. I figured that one would be okay for rides. My Fuji Finepix S602 cost me too much $$ to risk beating on while riding. only thing i don't like about the Minolta is the on/off button is way too sensitive, and comes on easily when you slide it inside the camera bag.

LJ, i just read that Bombardier and John Deere have recalled a whole bunch of their models for brake line problems? RU aware of this? I'd look into it. it involves several different models and a few different years.
ARe these quads made in the same factory??
I can't believe a good 'ol American company like John Deere would align themselves with these commie-icicle heads to the north, especially the french ones.

When i used to take pictures for Transworld skateboarding and others for snowboarding i cant count how many 500 - $1000 lenses got brokenSometimes the bastards mess up and hit ya. lol. thats the life of a photographer i suppose. I have no problem packin a camera in my backpack. Just not a huge one when i really riding. if i just put put across the dunes i wouldnt care what i was packin. I want a helmet cam so i can record some of the trail rides we go on. it would be pretty funny.

LJ, why don't you PHONE them to make sure?? it costs ZERO, and then you have peace of mind. PLUS, there's a good chance the same engineering for brakes went into all the models so you'll know what to keep an eye on for yours. IIRC, they said the line came loose from the fitting and it rubbed against something, causing the leakage=no brakes (front??).
Hoss, you already have a feminine side including mood swings, etc.. BUT, the worst part of the gender change TO female (as i've posted before), is when they suck 9/10th of your brain out through your nostrils.
are you buckin to get renamed "he/she"? Edited by ATV Connection Forum Moderator

i tried checking the video link, but i guess our computers are too slow here in Canada. OR, it could be my 5 y/o technology. I tried buying a new computer thru Dell. OMG!! whada joke. that is the WORST customer service i've had in a long time. I swear they don't wanna sell me anything. I'm trying to buy 2 (1 for work, 1 for home).
Posted by: rescuediver
Really, Dell didn't want to sell you 2 of themMan, it must be because your north of the borderWe have a Dell and love it. Customer service has treated us real good
Posted by: confusedbuyer
no, your like a natural repellant for any of the trash-talkin mo-fo 'Shee owners that wanna come here and talk their gangsta-rappa crap. AND..... you get our photos approved faster, so it doesn't suk at all.
BUT!!!! it's too bad you're a hot babe/chick repellant too, (or is that Hoss?). img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> all i know is that I was a chick magnet for 2 PMs from the isnt4 girls (or were they the "isnt4-old-men-in-their-ginch-in-their-basement-guys"?)
Posted by: confusedbuyer
long story short, or short story long... they advertised in local paper for 2 different systems i wanted to buy. thought i'd get 1 for office, 1 for home. called on day 1 of add, spoke to a lady, she took all my info over phone. i called back the next day with their special "evalue codes" (as if they really needed that; do they wanna sell me sumthin or not?). I leave lady a mes., call back again on Mon, and she's on mat leave! try a new contact her voice mail refers me to. leave this broad 3 messages, no return call. try buying it on-line, it won't recognize their "e-vale code" (probably because by now, this gimmick sale has ended). call again thru switchboard and get an anal goof unable to think outside the box. informs me sale has ended. told him to check their records, i tried to order during sale, initiated call during sale and expalin unreturned calls, etc. Leave it with loser-boy, he does nothing. leave him 2 messages, no response. (BTW, i'm cordial, polite and factual with names and dates thru-out this fiasco).
NOW, i complain to customer service by email. they reply with a can't find record thing. i give them their quote #. now it's been a week, no reply.
BUT, take a step back and look at the big picture. do they really care if sale expired? I'm willing to buy 2 systems, i'm losing patience, just sell me the darn things! they can verify the lady went on mat leave who i first dealt with, and the dates would jibe. how could i possibly make this all up and have all their employees' names correct? Can't someone pull their head out of their hershey and see the sense in selling a customer the product they just advertised?what's to check out? it's like going thru a communist run exercise in stupidity. and what level of confidence are they instilling in me should i have a tech problem down the road, if this is how incompetent they are trying to sell me the silly thing to start with??

You have that much problem trying to purchase something? What the after sale service going to be? Can you find a local company to work with.
I build my own your years now. I get what I want and have great luck so far. Nothing but the best (or as close as you can afford) and you won't have other issues in the future. get quality parts that you can change or upgrade later on without changing out other parts that are attached as in combo motherboards

Yo Yo Yo Rescue Dude- I own a 'shee bro and happen to like Fat Joe, Dre, and Snizzle snoop doggie dogg. Too bad I'm a bald 48 yr ol fart!
Funny short story about the above: I was getting my third amp installed in my Surburban and I was talking to the salesman. He asked me what type of music I liked so I told him. He about fell off his chair. Probably thought I was kidding. The installer took the 'Burb in back to install the amp (and a set of 3 "12 subs). The saleman & I were watching and listening to him back there because they had a monitor near the counter. When he fired up the stereo to adjust the amps and I had some of that fine music playing (illegally downloaded of course) he started cracking up. He couldn't believe that I really liked that rap cr@p...........

We've had our Dell for about 4 years nownd I can only say good things about them. When I had to call their customer servicehey were very polite and helpfulnd I think I even talked to someone in India tooBR>
But, I agree, if your service is this hard, to get a computer or in your case 2 of them. What would the service be likeCan only speculateBR>I can only think, you go the wrong people and I would continue fighting up the chain. Dell's are worth it IMO.
Plus, I want my 6% sales commission for sticking up for them

The wife bought kid rocks CD, the one where he sings the song with Sheryl Crow, I think it's pictures. Anyways, she loves that song, and it is, a nice duet. Anyways, she buys his cd and I think it's a waste of $13.00 or whatever it is. She listens to about 3 seconds to each song before, the one song she bought it for, comes on. Man, that was a waste of money. I can't even tell you, where that cd is. Might just be sitting on the shoulder of Hwy 99

my favorite part of The Last Boyscout with Bruce Willis and Damon Wyans is when the bad guys caught Bruce Willis and they're torturing him. Bruce is naturally tough, cool and cracking one-liners during the process. The bad guy says "you think you're so cool But I'm gonna make you scream!". Bruce replies, "You wanna see me scream, play rap music".
I HATE IT!! It's not music, it's a swearing-to-a-dance-beat contest. Creator, creator, creator... whud da madda fo u? you should be listening to Tony Bennett or 'ol Blue Eyes music. Eeeeewwww, yuck! Rap! i'd rather have my testicles removed by Toyo with one of them there farm implements they use on the bulls, than listen to 2 chords of rap-noise (cuz it ain't music).
me?, i like a good collection of church hymns and Jim Nabors singing gospel. where do ya think i got the hi-diddley-do from? Gooooolllllyyy! Surprise, surprise!

it sounds WAY more enjoyable than rap noise, as long as the pocket knife is extra rusty, and ya throw me in a pit of iodine afterwards.
Yee-haa! and the massage thing, yep, that's kinda one of those new-age sensitive guy things.... ohh, whadda they call it.. ummm, FOREPLAY.. that's it! In our house, foreplay is an elbow to the ribs in the middle of the night followed by, "hey, wake-up!" OR, i try dry-humping the leg like a puppy. but that's the extent of foreplay for real men. none of this sensitive, sweet, massage garbage. i bet you read poetry and use aroma-therapy candle burning while yer doin that massage stuff, don't ya you Seattle pinko !?

yes, maude is dead, but this is my sidedish who likes to think of herself as my woman. and none of that fancy-schmancy-romancy crap. mood music for her is head-banging heavy-metal; a real woman!
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
LOL. yup Im a pinko commie all right!!! BR>Well ned what can i say foreplay is where its at. I get more enjoyment outta gettin em off from the touch alone. When you can give her multiple O's withought sticking your dilly dally in her hoo haa and not even fiddling the hoo haa you got it whiped. even when she is all I dont wanna tonight i got a headache. I can make that headache go buh bye and make her crave the dilly dally. lol

I had to reload the work system today so I'm late to the game. Plus I got called out in another thread on this forum. BR>
Ok, with Dell, some of their Sales peoples are MORONS. And I've got about a dozen machines from them. Well, some of them are. If they are any good, they end up over in Servers and Storage. I only get Precision Workstation. I pay $300 for 3 years of service, I want to be able to effectively communicate with my support rep. (Dimension support is in India. They tried Precision support for a month and promtply returned it to TX as customers told them they were Number One.) You just have to keep trying, or give up and tell them you're tired of dealing with them. And you're taking their business elsewhere.
I never use those ads they have. The $400 Dell is a myth....at least for my company. I want some damn RAM people! Grrr. ok. I'm done. hehehe.

So MD did you feel it rocking this morning? It was funny, the first one hit right as a UPS truck started up and took off. I was like WTF? Took me a minute to figure out what it was. I was in the middle of setting up this machine so I had to use another machine to go find out what was up. Looks likes she poppes right about CA-41 & 46 7 mi SSE of Parkfield. The Geologists should be having a field day in Parkfield with all the sensors they have there. The San Andreas was lit up with little 1, 2 and 3 Rictors after that.
For those that don't know, Parkfield, CA is where teh USGS and others believe there is going to be a major earthquake (i.e. The Big One.) at some point and the town is just sensored all to hell. One of these days I'm gonna go there to check out what all is there.

LMAO...he's a TX boy. That's his first real shaker. LOL. (We had this discussion this weekend.) At least the sky is sucking crap up into it and throwing it a couple miles away.
Fortunately this one happened in the middle of nowhere. There are more people on the highways that pass through there than the official 17 who actually live in Parkfield. Hopefully the USGS, UCB and other groups got a ton of data from this shaker. It's the one they've been waiting for. All though she's about 10 years later than thought. Original prediction was for like '84-'96 based on 22 year average strikes. I assume the highways are still good there as that specific area is locked. It'll just be really nasty when it finally does.
I saw one instrument reading that showed 10cm of land travel (should be north/south slip) at one point.

LOL just can't get into that stuff. And I just can't envision, a 48 year old fart, dressed like Snoop Doggy DogBut, I would love to follow him around, as he is videoing Girls Gone Wild Xmagine some of the things he must seeBR>
I have to admit, Snoopy did a good job of impersonating Huggy Bear, in Starsky and Hutch. Even though the movie itself had a little bit, to be disiredCool car thoughhr>
I, in no way, dress like rappers. I do know where my pants should hang My four kids listen to the same stuff but we all think the words suck but ya got to love the beat. We know they are all clowns in real life and will spend all their millions in a couple of years and be broke.
Who knows, might have ex rapper reality shows in the future. We have them for everything else

I'm with Ned on rap and foreplay. Toyo, YFI, my wife actually believed your post about getting women excited, until i reminded her it probably involved 2 new-to-each-other, willing participants, VS. the begging husband who eventually gets his zombie wife to give in cuz she's tired of being prodded in the leg Yep, i believe long-term marraige noogy vs. new relationship is entirely different. We're at the hallway sx part, where we pass each other in the hallway and say, "f/u" (j/k). we like doggie style; you know, were i sit and beg!actually, Canadians invented that position so they could both watch the hockey game.

Skinner, No I didn't fell it this morning. I was on 99. The potholes always feel like a 6.0 earthquake haven't heard anything about Hwy41/46 being closed. That's an interesting site you posted. Man, there are a heck of a lot of earthquakes going on. Maybe California and Washington will fall off the face of the earth and Idaho and Nevada will be the new ocean front property

good thing they draw a line at the 49th parallel... NOT! we're so overdo for a major one here, they've been preparing forever and predicting the worst. yep, the whole wet coast could just crack away into the abyss.

Confused one, I'm looking into adding a pull start onto our LT 160. Did you have one on yours and if so, did you put it on yourself? I posted a thread earlier, but, no one responded to it
Posted by: confusedbuyer
where'd ya post it? Kids quads? i never saw it, or I'd have heaped some abuse on ya!I'm pretty sure we don't have it. BUT..... do you think you need it?? being a semi-auto, couldn't you jump start it, or pull it to start it? I should experiment with mine and see.
funny you should ask, cuz my Breeze wouldn't start 2 days ago and i tried pulling it around with a tow rope. well, belt drives DO NOT jump/pull start. we added the pull start to the LT80, it was a factory purchased add-on. I don't recall seeing a spot where a pull start would just bolt on for the 160, but i didn't look that close. I'd ask your Suzuki dealer. let me know what ya find out.
also, after realizing the Breeze lacks any back-up start i got to thinkin about other smaller quads with auxillary starting ability. There are (2) 2003 Bombardier Rallys for sale locally for about $2800 (US). They are a 200cc 2wd auto with electric and pull start. i was thinkin for the wife that may be kinda nice cuz our '84 yamaha 200 has ZERO shocks or suspension. i'd rather get her somthin a little bigger, but we have a space and weight limit consideration we already push past the limit on our quad deck (oh yeah, i got a few more pics of that, that i'll post for ya soon).

my buddy came over 2night and we went and watched a bad junior hockey game. anyways, he left a box of crispy-cremes. IMHO, this stuff is the equivalent of crack cocaine for cops! same addictive characteristics after just one donut. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I posted it in the Suzuki thread was hoping a mechanic guru would reply. I knew if no one did, I would ask you here
Yea you can add the pull start to the 160. I went to start ours this morning and it was a little finickyBattery was low. So, i charged it and it started right up. Anyways, Yea, I could push/pull start it. But, In the sand, with the kids doing majority of the riding, thought for around a hundred bucks. It would be cheap insurance. It bolts on the left side I think. I know it does take one though.
I lost my only contact a the local Yamaha dealero, now, I'll end up paying full price and no techinical help or very littleGuess, I'll do my best. You said you had one on your 80, did you do it yourself?
Did you think about a 250 for your wife? Nice, full size, quad without being over powered. How about a trail balzer 250? I know my wife loves her 400 sportAnd you know what, it comes with a back up pull start. Man, is that thing a pain in the rear to pull stat. But, it is nice to have thoughBR>
Yea, get your pictures up, I would love to see your set up up close

I'm looking to add a 5th quad to our familyNot sure if, it will be a mid size quad for the kids or a quad for mef it's for me, I'm looking at the Raptor 660, Predator w/ reverse or the Suzuki 400.
I also have my work out out for me to get all our rides and the trailer ready for Thanksgiving. I'm going to have to light a fire under my daughters to help me get it done. I also need to order new tires for our Honda 70.
Confused, I just sent you a PM. MD

After 4 Ford pickups in a row, I passed on the diesel 350 and went a little wierd. I ended up with an Avalanche 2500 3/4 ton with the 8.1 liter big block V8.
Torque-wise, the diesel would slaughter the Avalanche. MPG as well. I only average 11MPG. But the sheer versatility of the Avalanche sold me. People either love em or hate em. I love mine, and with leather, a DVD player, Onstar, XM Radio, and a camper tent for the rear bed, the amenities are hard to beat. I also had the Avalanche grille guard attached, which took some modding because it is made for the 1500, not the 2500. Basically, they welded it to the frame to get it on there.
The 8.1 is the coolest powerplant I have ever owned! I am mulling over dual exhaust and a few other mods, but otherwise it is still stock.

Good Morning FBK Brothers. BR>I've been a busy little boy (stalking women at work).j/k Just wanted to say hello.
I think we should all say hello to Alucard. Alucard, you bought a plastolanche? Poor Bastard.

Hello Alucard maybe one day you will realize that chevy just aint not ford!!! and if it aint got black smoke billowing from the exhaust and blue smoke from the tires hows everyon one suppose to know their gettin their ass kicked BR>
Dammit Confused. Between you and ned you just dont get it. man no wonder all you men end up with no nookie!!! you gotta cause them to want it, crave it, beg for it. you know after you done went and showed her what god inteded sex for... fornicate and pop out a kid and next time you fornicate you have another kid... she gets a lil gunshy everytime you get the dilly dally out. ked your self fixed so ya dont need to worry about kids and rekindle your early 20's flame. show her you can rock her like she never been rocked. careful not to do it to good at first. you gotta work into it. Cuz once you start the one uppin process there is no end to it.
Seattle - Vancouver,BC are due for some monsters beyond a magnitude cali has ever seen. Were talkin Liquid earth and the buildings sink and fall over crap should be fun. I am always on the rocks. but i can just see it im out riding my quad and i am on a hill side, i punch it and the hill under me dissapears
Pull starts are easy to add on its only a couple bolts. if you can get the part
Nice avatar Hoss better than the fat girl. now you just look like a pedifile BR>Well time for a shower and to hit the trail into work. back in an hour or so.

Ugh, CA won't slide into the Pacific. If it did, the Pacific Plate would have to move the entire distance of LA to San Francisco! (San Andreas is a strike-slip fault with the Pacific Plate going north.) I just can't see how we'd end up with Ocean Front Property in the valley unless all the glaciers melted. And I'm up about 350' plus over here so I've got a little more room than MD does.
When I looked last night about 10PM the aftershock count was up at like 293 or so. I actually copied the quake list and dumped them into Excel. hehe. Sorry, I just geek out on Mother Nature reminding us who really is in charge. Gotta shake things up a bit.

Good Morning Viet....OOppps, wrong showSometimes this reads like a soap operaBR>
Welcome AlucardWhat I want to know is? Did you read all 91 pages to get caught up with our topics?BR>I hear you on the plastolanche? Love them or hate themA local dealer wasn't selling them initailly. Then, he got the wild idea of painting the plastic to match the body color. It started selling, but, unfortunately for him, the paint didn't hold up to wellNow, they look like crap. I just don't get it, when I drive down a dirt/dusty road with the rear window open, it sucks in all kinds of dirt. But, in the Avalache commercial, they show them going down a dirt/dusty road with the back wall lowered and no dustHow could that beimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> With my luck, I'd collect enough dust to plant an orchard in the truckBR>
Hoss, the Lone Ranger is alot better then the obese lady you hadhere's Tonto? I actually loved watching that showSaturday mornings at 11:30 on Ch 9BR>
Toyo, I was thinking the same thing on it being a bolt on. Just wondering if it just plugs into something, or will I need to add a plug somewhere?
Skinner, Didn't realize you were that high up in elevationYea, at 88 feet and looking at the Diablo Range to the west and Sierras to the east, I'm kind of screwed if the San Andreas decides to slip off into the Monterey CanyonYou know the canyon is like 12,000 feet deep and bigger then the Grand Canyon
I see your holding your own in the BlackandWhite thread
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
On the warrior anyway you just take off the cover on the left side and bolt on the deal and thats it. no wires or nothing. its undo 4 allens and the crank bolt and then plug it on with the 4 allens and put the crank bolt thru it to connect it and your dont. piece of cake man. talkin about a 10 minute gig at most. on the warrior that is i dont know much about LT's other than when i was lil I rode a 500 and flipped it over backwards
Posted by: confusedbuyer
okay Toyo, so i'm supposed to hold out for months, walk around bull-legged from the swollen MSB effect, THEN, when that romantic mood hits, I'll be lucky to reach the "repeat if necessary" part. hel, i think i would only get to the "in" part, and not even the "out". the current system works mildly okay, cuz I've never had to fake one yet, so i figure I'm doin pretty good. AND, I already had the funding cut off to the swim team. Thinkin of gettin that for the young boys for Xmas, cuz it's the greatest gift a man can get
MD, there is a cover that you remove and the pull-start bolts on in it's place. it comes ready to go, you don't need to wind the cord or add the tension or anything complicated like that. piece of cake. get a new gasket tho, if you ride any water. hey, i know what IMH &O stand for, but what's the "TG" for?
as for the atv, size and weight are big considerations.
Hoss, the avatar does look more like the lone-h0mo-sheep-predator, so I guess if the shoe fits...And i never even thot of lone ranger for anyone. we'll have to keep that name in reserve for someone.
welcome Alucard. post a few more times and we'll rename ya. considering ya bought the avalanche, you may be Smithers, or Tonto. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0">BR>

I think I'll visit the Suzuki dealer today and inquire. They probably don't have it in stock and will take half of my life to get it innd I'll have to remember to get a new gasket too. Thanks for the reminder

I tell ya that dam candian has more metaphores that a bookstore!!! i love the funding to the swim team line.. lol. thats friggin great. they had free vasectomys at the UW med center a couple years back. I almost got one.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
MD I can pretty much hold my own, I think anyways. The Law and arithmatic are on my side. I'd love to see the justification they use for the tow ratings.
I only have a view of the Sierras most of the time. Sometimes you can't see em (generally the winter time because of the fog, sometimes in the summer time the smog is bad enough to obscure things.) On a clear day on an elevated section of the freeways you can see the coastal range out west. But that's about 50 miles away. On a really clear day you can see them from some of the areas up my LJ.
Oh and I forgot to welcome the new guy. First assignment is to rip all the plastic off that ugly freaking thing..... See you in about 3 weeks. hehehe. Joke. I've seen some body colored (maybe Sport models) and they look MUCH better. They ugly grey plastic just doesn't do it for me.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
I happen to know an F350 PSD can tow 125,000 lbs UP HILL!!! lol put her in 4 low. and go. The lowboy couldnt make it up this hill to get into a quarry with a komatsu WA600 on the back and so we hooked up to the front of it and drug it up the hill. and another time the lowbed lost a driveline on the highway and pulled it about 5 miles with the PSD oh it had a wa600 on it that time too!! PSD can pull. lol the tranny cant handle it though
Posted by: nedflanders
welcome Alucard. so you had 4 previous Fords, what made you cross over to the dark side? All i can say about the Avalanche is that if I had a dog that ugly, I'd shave it's a$$ and teach it to walk backwards.
Hoss, you really are going thru some kinda identity crisis/middle age thing aren't ya? what's with the new avatar of the african snake-charmer weiner gobbling thingy? It's almost like the ink blots the shrink makes me look at. Bring back the flour pig. course, all Dan Blocker fans are still po'ed you gave up on the lovable big oaf.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
Was there anything left of the tranny when you were done?
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Thats the tranny that The tourque convertor shot thru that towed the tractor the first time. and then with the new tranny ported and better tourque convertor it didnt hardly raise the tranny temp towin the tractor up the hill.
Posted by: nedflanders
Toyo, what year of PSD? ANd hey, how'd ya get yer photo in the avatar?
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
99 psd recieved in october 98 custom production off the line. ddidnt even have a friggen rear bumper. lol.
