I've always wondered about the better ride with air bags, especially the way most smaller (relative, small being 3/4 & 1 ton) trucks have them as an auxillary to the main springs. I could seem them riding better than say an auxillay overload spring. The bag is softer and gives better than a spring, which then has to be retarded by the shocks.

If the truck had ONLY airbags (like the big rigs, Class 8 trucks), then I could definately see it riding smoother than a leaf based suspension. Had a teachers aid who drove a Volvo around '89 (actually was crossing the Bay Bridge during the quake). Said it road like glass, loaded or not.

Are the bags installed so that they ever so slightly take a load off of the standard springs? Then I could see some ride quality, but even then it seems like would be still ride stiff, as the springs have a little further to go before they get bent to a softer spot.

actually, they initially made the WRONG call on that one too!! I'm surprised that a$$hole ref overturned it, especially after he didn't overturn the non-TD by BR.

From what I heard, he got an extra $10,000 for not over-turning the call

My limited mindtells methe air bags help take the load off the springs, which keeps them from always flexing as they hit every bump on the road way. It also help remove the sag that the extra weight places on the truck.

This sag would be like the extra stuff that is in the wayas you look at your folded over or double knot boyhood

Posted by: nedflanders

levelling is the main advantage i've noticed, so not so much sag on my trailer tongue (and I use EQ bars).

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I know that the bags hide the sagging (actually the overloading, but I won't go weight nazi on you guys). It seems that if they took weight off of the standard springs (esp. unloaded) the ride would become harsher. Notice how the trucks feel smoother with a load in the back? I had to pick up a 4000A breaker last week which was about a 18" cube with 6 1.5"x4" solid copper bus bars (200-300lbs? total weight) sitting on the VERY back of the bed (just barely put it in the bed because it was a tiny fork lift) and the truck road like glass.

Posted by: nedflanders

yer right skinner, they do hide the over-weight cuz the axles and brakes aren't designed for that extra weight.

then don't!! put in hardwoods.

EVERY free moment i get is spent trying to improve our place. took 2200 lbs of the previous owner's garbage to the dump this weekend. man that POs me that I spent the kind of $$ I did on this place, then have to spend an entire day cleaning up his trash, taking it to the dump, and paying the dump fees. Recourse?? for a few hundred bucks I might get, not worth the hassle. there should be a seller holdback of like $1,000 for 30 days, during which the buyer can dispute/lay claim to $$ for deficiencies. the realtors can arbitrate....I dunno..just makes me mad.

well, we repaired the fence & gate today (the one I took out with my quad & quad trailer). I used quads & 2 winches today, to put a building back in place that recently blew over in the wind storm. it was an open, 3-sided horse stall. then had to repair all the siding damage, level the walls, etc.. Even got the rental place ready for the new renter. Man, was the dryer vent & ducting ever plugged full of lint.

Our very first renters had to leave after 3 months but they had signed a year lease. Just got a letter Saturday that they paid 6 months now and the last couple months will be paid monthly until paid in full. They left the place clean and gave the keys back without any problems at all. I guess I'm very lucky with this one

Posted by: nedflanders

do you get to keep all that $$ if you re-rent?

my mess was left by the previous OWNER. the renter moved the majority of her junk.

Posted by: Trasher

yes, it's mine minus 8% from what the management company takes. Fine with me 'cause I don't mess with it at all. I have only drove by the place once since I purchased it I thought I would be all over it but I just treat it as a business and don't get attached to it. Hire someone to mess with the details plus it's in AZ so I can't be there all the time. It's not in the valley where I'm at most of the time.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Our landlord used to use a property management company, but wasn't happy with them, at all. He's never bugged us in 3 years. I get a receipt in the mail once a month for rent we paid (pay it directly at credit union since we both use the same one) that might have a note about the gardners doing work (overseading in fall, trimming, etc.) That's it. The yard was trashed before we moved in. He fired the prop. mgmt. company, said he'd do it himself. Spent a decent amount to get the yards all cleaned up.

he's definitely a whipped, panty-waisted girly man. but I think he feels uncomfortable here now, sorta like a poser, since he probably traded in the PSD for a KIA minivan!

Trasher, I'd definitely use an agency if I couldn't monitor the property myself. In B.C., you end up with a grow-op, or crystal-meth lab. the agency is supposed to check things regularly.

my mom was an arbitrator for the Rentalsmen, which was our gov't body that regulates landlord/tenacy issues. she'd preside over disputes between landlords & tenants and rule on them, so she'd seen and heard all the ugly sides. anyways, she lived in Yucca Valley, CA for a couple of years, and then they were moving back here. due to her background, my mom offered to find a new renter for the place. the owner's were quite happy with that, as they lived in LA or SD. she narrowed it down to a family, and a couple. she thot the couple would be easier on the house as no kids, & he was a carpenter & said he would do repairs, etc.. Several months later a friend told us the new renter had a SWAT team converge on the property & he was making chemical drugs. He had enuf explosives to level the mesa. so ya never know, but if the renter knows they'll be monitored & watched... then the growers & drug makers look elsewhere to rent, usually for an absentee owner.

Posted by: Whitewater

Trade in the PSD? I don't think so. However, that's the new "family" vehicle. Wifey's Jeep won't support my flock anymore.

Sorry about being AWOL...I was transferred to a different power plant. It took time to get a PC set-up, etc.

Posted by: nedflanders

I thot she had a Grand Cherokee...oh yeah, seats 5. but that should be good enuf if yer not there.

we SLAM you, and that's all you can come up with? so how far from home is the new transfer? the good news is: It's harder to hit a moving target. so you got a Stay of Execution in the new position for the next 3-6 months, until the new Hoss-boss clues in?img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

That stinks you got shafted by the last ownersSometimes you need to do things, (like take them to an arbitrator) just because YOU know, they left all that stuff for you to clean up I'd make them pay, especially if it was in the contract they clean their stupid arse up

I failed to tell you guys, my old neighbor's F250 was stolen last week from his driveway( If you remember the fishing pictures I had posted once before, it was the one in the pictures) Anyways, they recovered it after 5 days. Tore up the inside, stole the winch mount, but left the warn winch inside the truckstole the warn 3000 winch from the back of the truck and the tool box from the bed. Insurance co. is going to fix it and give it back to him. If it was gone 1 more day, the insurance co. was going to pay him off. My friend was already looking at a new truck. Man was he disappointed they found it

Yes it is. I just can't stand carpeting next to the bathtub and shower. IMO, that's asking for nothing but problemsdown the road, especially with kids. The doorway from the garage into the housse looks like crapafter only 5 months of being here. We even take our shoes off and it doesn't helpMaybe I should do more laundry;(

I sure wish we had some different weather down here. We were talking about that last night at dinner and wanted to go riding at places with trees, hills, mud, etc. and nothing like that is very close to home at all.

Posted by: nedflanders

come up here creator, we got it all, except sand dunes. we went for a ride on monday and got stuck in snow. just kept spinning down and getting high-centered on this hill. took about an hour or more to walk it out and feather the gas. snow was like loose sugar.

I think rescue was kidding with ya. It's trying to SELL stuff that's not allowed. asking to buy is fine ( I think).

I have a '99 with a 50-60 HP chip. It definitely made a difference. The tuner and larger chips are too radical IMHO, and create the need for more mods like 4" exhaust, pyrometer, gauges. cha-ching!! with the smaller chip you get a good power boost, & don't hafta spend $1000s more to upgrade everything else. I paid $500 Cdn when these first came out. I'm sure you can get one for $100 now. TRY EBAY!!!!

Must be warmer at the higher elevation of your truck windshield!

I guess. That was weird. Maybe the truck holds in the warmer air in better and takes longer to cool off.

That sucks.

And more on the wacky wild weather front, they are forcasting for rain/snow mix tomorrow night on the Valley floor here (+/-350'). Snow level is 2000-4000 today, dropping to 1000-2000 over night.

Wow, lot of post's here only read the first page!

I've got two 7.3 Powerstrokes.

#1 1999 F250 x-cab 4x4 short bed xlt diesel/auto. 33 in BFG's 16x8 AR Atlas, Putco SS four piece grill insert, ATLAS SS running boards, ss mud guards and bumper poles, Lund visor, dual non restricted exhaust, Alpine cd deck, Infinity Ref. speakers, Alpine 12 disc, tranny cooler, Autometer triple pillar pod, Firestone air rides, Lo Rider fiberglass tonue cover and fiberglass topper, plus I'm sure I'm missed some things!

Bought truck when a year old with 40K miles now have 214K miles. Chipped from 60-83K miles when tranny failed. Front end work done at 150K miles for first time. Shorted wire near valve cover at 185K miles. Fuel heater element failure at 208K miles. Water pump at alternator replaced in the past year, plus a few little things here and there. Plows with a Western 8.5ft Pro Plow and pulls a multitude of trailers the largest being the dump trailer, fully loaded with truck close to 30,000 lbs. Average summer fuel mileage 15-18, winter 12-14, best 19.

#2 2000 Excursion 4x4 Limited diesel/auto. Mostly stock wife driven, bought with 104K miles now has 154K miles. Besides an alternator only have $200 into the motor to date. Summer mileage 16-18, winter 13-16, best 20 on three tank fulls.

Not sure what has been posted on the subject but a crew cab with a plow will void some warranty. 2001 had the mechanical diode issue, no recall has been made. 2002-2003.25 7.3's have powder coated rods like the 6.0. In 2002 a Dana 60 was put up front instead of the Dana 50 and better headlights.

I'll be looking for a dually this summer when the truck is finally paid off and will be looking for late 99's and 00's 7.3's only with hopefully a 6 spd.

-10 this morning, good thing both truck have remote start!!!

First page only? Hah. That was when we actually talked about PSDs on a daily basis. Now, it's 6-10 people (mostly guys, DQ comes in now and again and Karyn comes to gloat when she tows a PSD) who just yack about whatever.

Nope, it's considered a classified ad and is not allowed.

I also have a 60 hp Banks Hoss chip in my truck, with a few other goodiesMaybe a K&N this weekendWon't the wife be proud of meAnyways, the Confusedone or aka: Ned is correctwhen you start adding the mega HP stuff, the cost goes up dramatically to keep your truck breathing and operating correctly. With what I have on my truck, I have plenty of power in reserveto can pass big rigs while towing my toys at 60-65 mph

Fuel bill... schmoooll bill (ha.. is that a word??) It can't be that much more since you really can't get any less than 1 friggin mile to the gallon.. hahaha! J/K!!! Everything I've been told says it will be an easier tow and easier on the truck since it's not an all rear tow.... so we'll see. I've always had pull behinds so this will be my first 5th wheel...Hopefully at least Miki will now allow me to turn on the dang generator! Here's the beast..The new toy!

Did you see Miki's post about wanting to haul it again.. haha..so maybe it will be the big Dodge doing most of the work? But one question, if they lift the trailer due to my truck being lifted.... can Miki haul it since his truck isn't???

One of the biggest consumers of fuel is wind resistance. Fifth wheels have huge front areas. But you never know.

I give you one tow and you're in for air bags on your truck. Make sure to get a sliding hitch as well. That's what they should be selling you since you're a short bed.

It depends on what they do, and how it's set up. Most 5th wheels have an adjustable pin box. I would assume they are going to put the pin box as high as it will go. Only problem with that, will be that you have less bed to trailer clearance.

They're going to actually lift the trailer somehow.. he said they don't flip the axels but lift it another way.. I can't remember how though.. hehe... I'm sure I'll be getting airbags soon.... gotta get it all setup!

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Back from Hollister. Kind of a crappy riding day. Didn't get out of town until 8:30 (supposed to have been 7!) Get up there and TWO people forgot their keys. Then one guy endos (or who knows what happens) his YFZ450. OUCH.

Only got about an hour on the bike. Tie rod held together. And it actually felt like it handled REALLY good. Maybe it's because I get this one-with-Hollister thing going on up there. Drizzled a little bit. Wet+cold = me(status=cold as h3ll). Trails we awesome. Could have been a little drier.

But hey, to keep it on topic, rode in a an old body style PSD. LOL 4" exhaust, and no muffler from what I could tell. LOUD. Used like over 1 tank on the dual getting there....70+ MPH. Used like 1/2 of one coming home about 60.

why not axle flip? gives ya about 8" lift, and is simple. just put the springs on top of the axle, instead of under it.

How many diff. ways can there be to lift a trailer? Having been in her truck, she's gonna need that much lift I should think, what batter way would there be to do it? Most trucks have their springs mounted on top of the axle. Maybe there's something else to do with the suspension? (I think her new toy has shocks as well.)

Real ovens are hard to come by in new trailersWhen we buy, that would definately be a deal breaker if it doens't have a "real" oven.

IF you can't afford to pay for the fuel to use the thingYou can't afford it in the first place

Twin 16 gallons. This is old body style. When they had front/rear tanks. He said he sucks down once he passes 70. We didn't drop under 70 between Fresno & Los Banos. Except the 99/152 interchange.

That's not bad, ones I have seen are over $275 or soThe wife roolled her quad up in the Sierras couple years ago and bent her steering stem, tooHaven't replaced it,for a couple of reasons 1) $$$$ 2) to much crap to remove to get to itand 3) once I replace it, she'll roll it again( just like a windshield, once you fix that crack, you get another one:frown

2 of my daughters and I, spent the weekend splitng firewood out at the ranchAfter all of the years of working out there cutting and splitting wood, decided to actually use the quads as work horsesWHY didn't I do this earlierIt was so nice, not dodging brush piles and trees with the PSD and trailersI even frabicated a hitch for the 80 mini raptor to pull a small trailerDecided I needed to beef up the hitch on the Polaris 400, bent it pulling the log splitter around.

Twin 16 gallons. This is old body style. When they had front/rear tanks. He said he sucks down once he passes 70. We didn't drop under 70 between Fresno & Los Banos. Except the 99/152 interchange.

Hmmm, I thought the tanks were bigger then that. However, two of those tanks are bigger then my one tank

This is for a stock stem. Aftermarket is really nice. But you're dropping $300-400 after all is said and done it seems like. Buy the stem, then you have to buy the bar clamps. Which they do make anti-vibe ones which would be really nice.

Yeah, those short beds have tiny tanks. Our F-450 at work has like twin 18. Maybe they are 16s but you can get a couple extra gallons in the filler tubes. LOL. Considering they are feeding that 460 under the hood, range isn't all that great. I got 8MPG with a light load.

Mine is slightly bent too. It was like that when I purchased it. I would try to straighten it out but just haven't taken the time to tear it apart.

Im not tearing it all apart until I have the stem to replace it. And I'll probably get it powder coated at the same time. Thinking a nice deep red to accent the red in the plastics.

That would be but, way over kill. I have put the Polaris out to pasture so to speakIt is now deligated to the ranchpulling around small trailers and other farm implements. No reason to have a straight steering stem now

That's about what my friend gets out of his gas guzzler, even worse 5-6 when he's pulling the 30 toy hauler. My brother has a long bed with a 38 gallon tankNow I wish mine had that much without a second tank.

You just need to send in a request for dbeck to send you your log-in information to reactivate your old account. Or, come up with another kanucklehead name and ask him to swap it for you

I could do that, but it's not worth the time and effort to remove it from the bike. To much in the way

If it's not effecting the steering to where it's a safety hazardI'm not messing with it. However, if I was to do it, I would probably do the same thing as Skinner, get it powder coated

that's cuz you liken it to curling your toes!! I curl every week. It's a great recreation. and lotsa golfers curl. several of our world-class curlers are golf pros!! It's similar to golf in that it's all pressure as the skip, to make your shots. kinda a mental head game playing with you all the time. like a 4 foot putt for the Masters. other sports are too fast, no time to think. golf and curling take a lot of concentration and nerves of steel.

hey, I detested curling for years because I was always a die-hard hockey player, and curling was for wussies. and to watch it on TV was almost as bad as watching golf! Then i got fat and outta shape (kids!), no time for hockey. tried curling and it's a very good social outing. now I can understand and watch on TV, and it makes sense.

FFFFFFFF*******K, Canada and the US both got eliminated from Hockey today. WAAAAAA. For all the superstars we had, this was the WORST performance I've ever seen from a canadian team. The country will be angry and in mourning for a long time. Put it this way; if the US loses the World Series of baseball to Domincan Republic... you'll know where we're coming from.

so what do ya wanna know about curling?and hey, one of our curlers is 50 y/o !! What other sport can you have 30lbs of gut hanging there and be in prime shape for your sport?

Posted by: Whitewater

Curling is kind of like shuffle board...should they put that in the summer olympics as well? How about hop scotch?BR>
So ned/confused/canuckledick, are you the broom biatch?

Posted by: nedflanders

actually, as the skip (team leader, last shooter), it's up to the other curlers to fetch me smokes, drinks, etc..

sorry dude, there's no position available to you that involves bending over for broom insertion.

Posted by: Trasher

Should we call you skippy now I read in the paper this morning that there are 1.2 million curlers in Canada and only 300 thousand in the rest of the world.

ya, i get skipper a lot. you mean there's THAT MANY in the rest of the world! well guess which drunken fools gave us this game? yep, the same ones that gave us golf. watch Robin Williams talk about the Scottish inventing golf. curling started on frozen ponds, etc. The ice is still pebbly today, NOT smooth.

I think US men play bronze medal game today!!

Hey fellers, we fell a few dozen spots on the forum...I had to hunt for this thread.

Anyone go riding lately?

Posted by: Trasher

Not meI'm doing the home improvement thing nowCarpet, painting, soon to be tile, etc. If it wasn't for my businees travel I wouldn't be able to golfNow that would really hurt

Posted by: Whitewater

I feel your pain...we have been doing that for the past year. We have replaced blinds, carpet, tile, countertops, paint, wallpaper b-gone, lights, trim and crown molding, etc. However, since the baby was born, I turned into a major slacker (lack of sleep). I still have a tub and my office to finish. Oh yeah...then there is the yard. I have an acre out back that needs some TLC, and a shed that needs siding.

At least all my stuff isn't blowing away like canuckledick.

Posted by: nedflanders

it's blown down, not away, you $hit-disturber! and it still leaves lotsa work. Hoss, why did you buy this new pad if it needed so much reno??? I guess wife expected it to be as nice as the previous pad= lotsa work for you!! my theory on that is: if you're gonna change it and reno no matter what, you might aswell buy a dump and get some return on your reno investment. no sense in reno-ing something that is already clean and decent, just for the sake of a change in scenery.

I got a 40' refer trailer and a 20' shipping container put on our property this weekend. the 20' is very solid and secure, so that'll make great quad storage. The 40' is gonna be my wood-working shop. Yippee!! now I get to use my 1250sq' gargage for parking, auto repairs, etc...

went on a ride about 2 weeks ago. we're going to Florence, Oregon to the dunes in March (10-18th). so no riding between now and then.

Posted by: nedflanders

okay, back to the topic for a rare occasion. I have a 7-pin plug at the rear of my PSD for trailer.I need this plug for electric brakes. I also have a camper, but there's no plug for it. I need a plug where you'd normally find one for a 5th wheel. Does Ford pre-wire a connection to the box, or do i have to splice into my exisiting wiring harness? seems to me a 5th wheel wiring should be fairly simple to add.

Posted by: Whitewater

Most of the house remodel was a change of scenery. We thought about building, but it would have cost me about 450K to build the same house (that's without property). We have dumped about 10K into it so far...so not too much $.

So ned, are you going to add the refer trailer onto the house (you could call it the West Wing).BR>
I just spliced into my wiring harness for the 5th wheel, and added a plug to the inside of the bed.

We have 4 or so old 40' refer trailers we use for job trailers. Which works out ok. But anything big REQUIRES a good sized forklift to get it in and out. Our old Lift-All has taken a major cr@p. Won't start. Think a relay went south somewhere. It was a POS when we got it...brakes...who needs those! At least it's a diesel and you can gear down to a crawl. Not my idea of fun: loading onto a trailer. We need a fancy @ss Gradall.

Gotta love those 10 hr days. I'm in a little early this morning to get some work done. The bosses are heading over to Monterey County (I think) for a meeting about a job. I think we're down to having to have this job designed in the next week. HAHAHA. Yeah... design work for a $1M+ job in one week. Pass that pipe! Biggest hurdle is how to get power to a wine press that moves 240'!Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't pass under a catwalk that's only like 14' off the ground. :/

Its got to be nice working again, but its probubly a little tough getting up to speed for a guy your age. A little different from your last job I guess.

I havnt got it registered yet but have been riding it around the shop area a bit. Its lots of fun, for a quad. We need to get together so your girls can ride it. Id love their opinion of it.

Posted by: Webopper

Hey there PSD guys. Just looking around for a minute. Doesn't look like there's anybody home?

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Well...we're all kind of busy:

MD (err rescue) has a new job and is being driven like a slave. Poor guy. Only has time to play with his wood on the weekend.
Hoss (whitewater) is off changing diapers and chasing his sheep.
Nedd is perpetually putting his barn back together.
Trasher is out on some golf course in Arizona pretending to actually be working.
LJ is chasing mountain girls around town.
MWQ is for some reason riding a quad around.
And me, well I've actually been working, or making it look like I'm working.

And of course our darling DQ is MIA.
And can't forget our favorite target Karyn is preparing for the arrival of her newest toy.

Sounds like a DNS issue on the face of it.

198.174.40.4 That's the IP of the forums. If that works, write it down and put it in the address bar as http://198.174.40.4. If that works, it's definately a DNS issue.

Morning FBK.

Skinner, I finally got the home pc to work...they hooked me up through my wireless router and not through the pc.

Well, I went riding over the weekend. It's pretty nice to take off from the house and get lost for a few hours.

hey Homer... DOH!, I mean Hoss, glad to see your kids fixed your computer for ya.

a technical question. I vaguely recall MD or MWQ talking about some product that's great at cleaning out bunged up 2-stroke fuel that's been left for too long. It's not naval jelly, it's some product that has multi-purposes, and some people swear by it as magical. I've definitely seen it discussed on these forums, perhaps in the kids atv section.

ANYONE?? does this ring a bell? I have a couple of chainsaws I want to try fixing up, but I'm sure they're gonna be gummed up in old 2-stroke.

I always use carb cleaner. I used to only use berrymans but now will use Walmart Brand Super Tech Carb Cleaner. And if its rewally bad, there is a Berryman Chemtool dip. It is about a gallon can and you soak the pieces over nite and then you can rinse them with water and blow off with a air hose.

Yep, getting up at 0445 is getting kinda old for these bonesOf course, it doesn't bother you because you take a mid morning nap, a mid afternoon napon top of going to bed at 6:30 PMLOL!!!!

I actually looked forward to getting back to workI just didn't think I would be working these kind of hoursand not having more then 2 days off stinksI do work with a bunch of great guys

Riding sounds goodThrow a date at me, and I'l probably make itI am sure the girls would be more than happy to take the new atv for a spin and give you a reportEspecially when they can compare it to the quads they ride

LOL!

That reminds me of a couple calls I had been out onOne was a rancher kept finding over turned 5 gallon buckets in the cow pensimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> He couldn't figure it out why, until one night he stayed in the barn and low and behold, he found out why the buckets were upside downimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> his ranch hand was only about 5'1 and needed the extra boost to enjoy his favorite bovine of the nightimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">

Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here the rest of tonight, and my life. LOL

Been busy today. Had to go to Madera, not once, but twice. Get a call a 3pm that they can't get the RJ45 connectors onto come CAT5e. I was like WTF? They were using CAT6 connectors, which should have fit physically, but wouldn't have worked well as CAT6 is 23 AWG vs. CAT5e at 24AWG. Ended up it was this screen stuff (which is what they should have been using in the first place!) but it has to be used on 110 punch down blocks. So after figuring that out, I had to actually come back to the shop, pick up the parts I had, and then hit the supply shop to get the rest that I needed.

Then I get stuck at a train crossing on the way home. Which was good in a way. I had a CHP officer behind me when I was bumming along a county road (Ave 9 in Madera County) at about 65 (55 limit.) :/ Usually they wait on the west side of the tracks (I was going east) because it's lower and catch the speed demons. You don't see em 'till you're on the tracks.

0445? Im at work for 45 minutes by then, and Im even older than you are.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> lol I wish i got to bed by 6:30 pm, and we havnt had many of those 2 hr run time jobs lately, less time for a nap at work. At least it didnt cut into my posting to bad. LOL BR>
5 11's is brutal, got to be even tougher with your responsibilities on Sunday too. Very little down time. I havnt worked a frdiay this year and already dont miss the money. Time is way to precious, and you cant make time. You can always make more money.

Im thinking next sat but may go for this sat. I got the paperwork but havnt goten to the dmv yet. Im looking for a cnc mill today(called in sick, cough, cough) and if all that goes good I might make it this sat. Could you make it this sat? Id really love the girls impression of it.

Have I told you that the oldest son and i moved into the 1800sf shop 2 weeks ago? We out grew the 1200sf one in 2 months. Now I wonder how soon we will outgrow this one.

I can run any of them but I am buying a cnc mill today, like this one. I am also looking for a cnc lathe , and I have a manual Bridgeport mill already.

We had a couple small machining centers at my ex-employer (I think they were mitsui). I spent 13-years in aerospace mfg.

That looks like an expensive "toy." Going to start doing (more) stuff on the side with the possibility of starting your own shop FT with your son?

I thought someone looked vaguely familiar the last time I was at Sh!tty Lights. (And yes guys, people do call it Sh!tty Lights around here. And I've never actually been there. Too many lawyers hang out there. LOL)
