I am always skepticalof anything that gives you instant increased mileagethrough the nozzle

the deposit comes AFTER subject removal. for example, if they can't get financing, then they shouldn't have to pay you a deposit for that. but after subjects are removed, $20K is a typical deposit.

it's tough for me to pick my buyers creator. really, it's all about "show me the $$", and my neighborhood is turning into mostly people from another country of origin. and now the wife just wants to give it away at any price now. and we had other offers we refused, that she now has 20/20 hindsight on.

okay, the additive is called champqx. web site is www3.telus.net/public/champqx . you'll get all the usual testimonials, etc. I've used Howe's fuel conditioner on my PSD, but no other additives. on other gas engines i had, i used Slick 50, Bi-tron, PTFE resin, & one the astronauts supposedly used. I never kept any of the vehicles long enuff to see a difference. regular oil changes accomplish the same thing don't they?

Aren't these nutz getting pre-qualified beforehand? They are putting offers on a house that they don't know, in advance, that they can even purchase? What a bunch of moronsTotal waste of everyones time and brain cells

Sorry about the house...that sucks.

My thoughts exactly. Doesn't seem right what they are doing to you. If it wasn't in the contract between you two on the purchase of the neighbor's propertyeing part of the deal for your property, then, how can they back out? I would be pi$$ed tooimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0">

If the products are only lubing the internal parts. How does that increase your mileage like that? I agree, oil changes at the correct intervals does the samething.

The claims all have to do with less friction and better sealing around the rings. That would increase compression and use less right petal to get the vehicle moving which would use less fuel.

Ok, but to the tune of 100 miles per tank full

Posted by: Trasher

no way unless you have a extra large tank, like 500 gallonsimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">

Every time something happens with gas be it price or whatever, these type of things tend to surface. People will be talking about electric cars, diesels and other modes of transportation

I'll bet it can't hurt and probably helps but in such a small amount that you would never know it. Having runners to direct air and slightly rough channels that the air flows through will help the air atomize and mix better. Still it will be such a small affect on performance (kinda like Confused)img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

thanks creator. ALL the ladies agree with ya; I couldn't improve on my already perfect performance. BR>
if you go back about 372 pages, we chatted about the Tornado (prolly one of the early things that started this thread). IIRC, YOU brought it up MD, and YOU were supposed to be our team guinea pig to let us know if it works!! so.... does it?

Posted by: confusedbuyer

MD/creator, the FIRST time we were offered 11K more, their realtor told us they were pre-qualified. they never tried to complete that deal cuz they didn't get the answers they wanted on rezoning or subdividing our lot, so they thot they'd just walk away. fact is; they never put a condition in the contract that the purchase was subject to either subdividing or rezoning (which they should have done if that was a serious concern). so, we feel like they never did what they agreed to do in contract; which was to make a legit effort to remove their subjects. So, we may sue for damages if we have to sell for less in order to get the place we want. i'm loath to do that, but they've done ALL the crap to deserve it. and it'd be bittersweet.

I have known many people that have been on both sides of that losin yer money by backin out deal. Something should be coming yer way. People just can't make offers then back out without some penaltyimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">BR>

500 x 6 = 3,000lbs of fuel. NOT going to happen in an F-250 PSD that's for sure. You're getting pretty close on a 350.

Just had a buddy go through that. He didn't find out the kid was born (knew she was pregnant) until he got court papers. Kid is almost a year old, he just went to court Monday. Girl tells the judge she doesn't want child support, and doesn't want him to have anything to do with the boy. Judge told her to the effect "That's not up to you." OH YEAH! Judge ordered only child support for the 3 months she was on aid. He's going to make that in payments. No he's just got to fight her for custody and visitation. I told him to be happy about one thing...she's only going to get $150 cash from him. The rest goes to the county. Aid recipients only get the first $50 of support.

How many courts are going to not let a guy be a part of his kids life? Hell, they are having enough problems getting guys to step up to the plate when they don't want to.

Click the "http" button. Delete out the "http://" that's in there. Paste in the full URL. Click OK. Put in the text you want to be the link text (What's underlined and blue).

ConfusedoneLet me teach an ol' dog a new trick

When you want to link, have a second window open. You say how do you do that? hit the control button and "n" at the same time. This will give you a second window. Then, go to the site you want to link to. Now, highlight that web address and copy it. Then, come back to the atv connection link, click "reply" when that page loads up, click on the "http" link (third from the left, below the "Message Text" area. When the screen loads up, "paste" your link there and hit "ok" then it will reload again. This time, type in the name of the link or what your referring to. Then hit "ok" again. It should now be in your replyhttp://humor.about.com/library/sounds/blmp3.htm[L=Text]

Im still here.
Everything is better now.
It seems that everytime they go somewhere(for an extended period of time) they have to come home and act all high and mighty for some reason. No matter how hard i try to do everything i ask while theyre gone and keep things clean ect.. All i try to do is stay outta their way and whatever when they get back. But they ALWAYS find stuff to get after me for. Its like they go out of there way looking for things. ugh. Maybe its just me. But im pretty sure its mostly my obsesive dad that rubs off on my mom. Hes a pilot, a Captain at that. So when hes at work hes in charge and everything HAS to be perfect. He comes home, and it has to be the same. Blah. Whatever. Enough of ALJWT(see if you can figure that one out)

Anywaysorz, in other newz and a wierd twist of things i have a feeling that life MAY take a turn for the better REALLY soon. In all of this other mess my mum hinted to me that i might be getting a special present for my 21st bday, which btw is coming up on hte 9th. She kinda used that hint to "bribe" me to straiten up. Im trying. Anyways, just yesterday at lunch she asked me a question. She asked, if i was interested in going to flight school or a few other diff schools. Just outta the blue. Interesting. *shrugs* I suppose if this is a plan to get me out of the house theyre gonna have to send me to a Diesel tech school. So remember that "bribe" ? ?
Jeeze, Parents, at least try and hide these things till yer kids bday. Please? Mkay move along! LOL

My boss is the same. Part of it is that he's a P.E. (Registered Professional Engineer, Mechanical) and he's a pilot. He can spot typos a mile away. Goes through a written checklist EVERY time he takes off. Line by line. If things aren't perfect...well...he makes the news...and not in a good way.

Sounds cool. Can make some $ as a diesel tech. Considering more people are buying them.

Anyone ever have one of those days where you finally figured something out? Maybe something was working, but it felt kinda kludged. Like there HAD to be a better way. Today was that for me. I finished up a computer for a friend yesterday. Wants to remote backup his businesses (well, his parents) computers remotely to his house. I pretty much go setup what I can at my house, just need to take it to his house to setup and finalize some things. So today I figured I'd spend some time on my computer.

Anyways...I FINALLY figured out an easier way to scan documents to keep them on the computer or convert to PDF. I had done it at work before using a script I found and kinda hacked (in this since hacking is programming) and cleaned it up. Found out the tool that I was always using to actually do the scans had a batch mode and could create different file formats on output. Uses a lot less resources this way. Before, it would use all the RAM in the server (256MB) on anything about 10 pages. I scanned a cell bill (22 pages) and my box (computer) barely took a few seconds (speed wise it's close to work, just 4x the RAM) to convert to PDF.

And to think I pulled the scanner off of the server because I wasn't happy with that script. Now it's all good and planning to dump my filebox into the computer and trashing the paper bills, etc. Poor little paper shredder....

Of course I also plan to scan the family photos at some point. This will make that MUCH easier.

Yea, but now you need to spend time scanning all that stuff into the computer.

If your family is like mineyou don't take a lot of pictures when the tree is one big stump

Actually, the wife has thousand of pictures sitting around that need to be scanned into the computer. I think one of the biggest scams I fell forwas when she said the new digital camera would replace the 'old' 35mmBoy was I taken on that oneStill paying big bucks to get film developed

Considering some of the plans we get here...I have to wonder on that statement being true for ALL of them. As far as gospel...hmm. I tried to convince my boss that CAT 5e/6 is SUPPOSED to be installed with a horizontal run and patch cables on each end. Nope. Wanted basically one long @ss patch cord. "Those extra connections don't need to be there." Umm...those extra connections are figured into the spec!

I don't have THAT much stuff that I'm going to actually scan. Probably nothing over a year old. I never look at the stuff anyways! Just doing this so if I'm ever asked by someone when I'm getting paid, I'll have an answer for them. Do computer work on the side for a few people. I'd like to get some more work with a few core clients doing small admin work. Like for small businesses where it's not practical for them to have an admin full-time.

I've never done a family tree. I'm sure if I did I'd want to shred it. LOL. Family out here (mom's) isn't all that big. She was one of 4 siblings. Her dad was from Indiana (Ft. Wayne) and mom's family is all back in OK (OKC-area.) My dad's family is all pretty much in MO, about an hour south of KC. We've got a small box full of family photos, etc. Used to have a bag of slides my dad took when he was in the Navy. He had told me to toss it at one point, not sure if I ever did or not.

I wish I still had my 35mm. Stolen when I went to a friend in Mantweaka Unless you drop some coin, digital can't really touch 35mm. The medium format (2" negative equal) cost as much as a car (last price I saw was about $28,000 for a Hasselblad (not sure on the spelling) digital back. I don't think anyone makes a digital back for large format (6" or so negative). Though I was suprised and very impressed with LJ's Digital Rebel. Those run about $1,000 for the body only. You can spend about $8,000 for a pro level D-SLR. Same camera in 35mm runs about $1,000.

You need a LOT of pixels to get good prints. Afterall, if it's not there on the file, it's not going to be there in the print. And if you print from in inkjet style printer, you're print will fade shortly if it's on display. For a good print you can output to a LightJet (normal to large formats), Fuji Frontier (up to 8x10...check your local Wal-Mart, etc...it's the digital mini-lab) and Kodak has their equivelent to a Frontier. Basically, it's a film scanner (usually a Nikon 4000) a computer (WinNT, XP) and a BIG RGB laser printer printing on standard color photo paper. Only set you back about $100,000. BR>
And if you keep the photos you took around, you have to deal with managing that collection. Which, really isn't that hard. The nice thing is, once you buy a camera and storage medium, there's really no money involved in picture taking. You can print what you like. Though, be warned, most solid-state style memories (CF, MD, SD, MemoryStik, etc.) only get about 1000 writes before they will start to cr@p out on you. That's writes over the same spot. So you might at sometime down the road have to purchase replacement media. But it drops pretty decently.

I use the SLR WAY more. as for piles of amassed photos=WIFE= Scrapbooking!! you wanna see your wife waste an all-time new level of $$, introduce her to scrapbooking. they buy all these fancy scissors and paper and then they spend 2 days to produce one page of a photo album, so the testosterone charged male responds, "That's it?!" . this is followed by a swift and severe shot to the groin. so now I rave about how wonderful it looks. but i could rifle pics into a photo album 1000X faster!! oooo-oooo-oooo, MORE POWER!!

LMFAO. Yeah, I have a friend who's big into scrapbooking. The one I moved back in July. Had a flipping clear plastic tote FULL of cr@p. Yes women, I said CR@P!

I have a gallery I'm setting up on the server at the house. I can control access when I put it onto the Net so they can't see all the pics, unless I want them to. That's my next project is scanning all those photos. I'm both looking forward to it, and dreading it. Going to need to figure out how to save some of the early 80s color stuff. It's going to cr@p. They didn't fix them properly back then. I'm sure some are completely toast now though. With finding the batch options to the scan tool it's not looking so bad now.

ALL HAIL THE COMMAND LINE!

I just hate doing it like that. It really looks like you have NO idea WTF you're doing. They have a rack with the operator interface is. Drop in a patch panel. Make it look nice. The big reason is they are pulling double wires for everything. So they are going to have 12 CAT6 cables dangling around in there with ends on them. Tell me that doesn't look like sh!t! With a patch panel, even if you aren't using the cable, it still looks nice. Plus, they are easier to label. No fumbling through them to find the spare for Compressor #3.

Happy Early BDay.

Just got back from the annual birthday dinner. Granny buys everyone dinner for their birthday at one time. LOL Pretty much my entire mom's side of the family was there, with the exception of my brother. Only one cousin wasn't there (2nd Lt. in the 101st Airborne in Kuwait/Iraq) but granny has this iffy thing about adopted grandchildren (the above is a second parent adoption, the other cousin who was there was a regular adoption (from dad's side to mom's side though)...they really aren't her's, unless they can do something for her.

LMFAO. I'm going for the rain dance on about 10/26 or so. RAIN RAIN RAIN! No rain on the weekend...cause it really SUCKS camping in a tent in the rain. Funny thing...ALL of the tent camping I've done in the rain has been at Hollister. Hmmm. 3 out of the say 7 times I've been to Hollister it has rained.

Yeah, I saw the reply.

I realise that, but sometimes you just have to keep pushing and proding. I would hate to see my friends get screwed if something goes wrong. You might do everything right, but if you get cut off by some jack@ss on the highway everything can go to hell in a handbasket real quick. I know everyone works hard (unlike me ) for all the things they have. Hate to see them lose it all.

I really think I'm going to raid Karyn's JD.... (I was gonna say Karyn's Jack, but then knowing THIS group, that would have been really been a bad choice of words.)

I think this is one of those situations where you have to let the kid touch the hot stove and get burned. Then they'll know to not touch the hot stove.

I guess me and LJ are still going. Was supposed to go play airsoft at Ft. Ord this coming weekend but the people flaked out. Imagine that...people flaking on stuff around here. I think there's something in the water in Fresno. I only flaked on LJ one time riding. I think I was sick then. Or woke up after noon. LOL

Your JD is safe. You know I don't drink. I drink vicariously through others. Makes for really good late night stories around the campfires. Reminds me I need to do that DVD finally. LOL. No, it's not done yet. Really haven't done much with it...don't have much. But I've got one of a Jeep trip...surely to make anyone watching it car sick.

LJ: I think the next trip up to Star Lakes Karyn should bring her truck... that Sub made it up there... LOL

That thread is a lost causeI like the comment about DMV knowing the vehicle bookLast time I checked, they don't write citations and when they are citedI don't think the "CLERK" will remember their conversation in court

After all my years of being in the businessI just tell them " sign next to the "X", it's not an admission of guiltJust a promise to appear And then I think Ka Ching as the $$$$ signs roll in my eyes for the O.T. for court

No disrespect meant to DMV employees, but just because they work there doesn't mean they know WTF they are talking about. The relevant sections are clear. They aren't heavily enforced, but with the newer trailers getting bigger (and HEAVIER) accidents will happen. It will probably be something like a MADD situation. Someone loses a loved one and takes action.

Also find it interesting when you start to get emails.... BR>

Yep.

One thing I found on the CHP website, they don't receive any money from the tickets they write. It all goes to the county of the violation.

According to their site the county keeps it all. I know that with local the county gets it, and the city (or other jurisdiction) has to sign a revenue signing agreement. It all goes through the county court.

CHP most certainly gets a piece of the pie. I'll see if I can ge the bail schedule and who gets what. You are correct about local jurisdiction setting the fines. That's one of the screwed up things with the state. I think it gets reviewed every 12-18 months.

Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedules

Found that before when we had to drop that trailer on 99. I think it's like 35 counties are the same amounts, with the others varying. Too lazy to reread it.

Hey, check this out. On-topic (like anything is off-topic here!). Was at the local Ford dealer this week. Had 2 trucks in for service, and one more going in tomorrow. They have this lifted F-250 PSD Crew Shorty Lariat on this rack thing (where it's half way up in the air out at the street). Anyways. The warehouse manager and I were admiring it and talking about it. So we guessed $50K. Probably 3-4" lift, 33-35" BFG M/T on custom wheels (20?), all the little goodies for the lift. It's a mid-range blue color. Darker than a PG&E truck by a couple shades to give you an idea. Custom color. We laughed when we saw the price. MSRP was $50K. Dealer wanted $60K. They have to be fscking kidding!

Coworker told his wife he found his new truck. She came back with, "That's 1/2 as much as we paid for the house!" LOL Beautiful truck... I guess when I win the Lotto I'll see if they have it an F-350. Of course if that ever happens I'll get the package deal...the 350 with the GT they have roped off on the showroom floor. Heard they want $400K for it. I'll take 2, one for Saturday, one for Sunday.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

On yet another trip to the dealer this morning (#3 truck in this week....$$$$) I saw an F-150 super cab (ext. not the SuperCrew) with the SuperCrew bed. 137" wheelbase or something like that. Anyone see one of these yet? It was lifted and what not like the 250 I mentioned earlier. Only wanted $50K. This one also had a center console shift for the auto. Not the normal column mount shift. I know they use that setup on the Lincoln.

Posted by: confusedbuyer

YAY!!!!! realtor is bringing over papers today to remove subjects on the sale of our house. that means it's sold, and we move on Oct.28!! and we got 10K more those other jerk off losers were gonna pay us. and the back-up offer to the one we accepted was for more $$, but we didn't want to be greedy, so we went with the lower one cuz we felt better about the buyer. well, guess what? the back up offer pulled out yesterday and claimed they couldn't get their financing. they lied too, cuz they claimed they had a huge down payment, and were pre-approved for financing. man, what an eye opener to the flakes out there.

true, but all subjects are removed, and we have a large deposit. plus i met the owner ( a young pup) and he really likes the place. PLUS, he has 5 cars (a '53 Packard, a '67 Pontiac, swamp buggy, KTM 380 bike, etc..), and he's never gonna leave the shop.

Decided to cut 5" off the legs to my welding table. TOO highGood thing about metalyou can cut it up as many time as you wantand just put the pieces back togetherBR>

We've got a pretty nice metal working table at the shop. Goes out to jobs on occasion.

Has the following:

  • Rigid electric pipe threader
  • Rigid pipe vice
  • Bench Grinder

It's all wired up for one plug to plug in. Just don't run everything at once...

We were going to mount a drill press. Until it came in. Boss got like a 12" press. The damn thing was 4' tall..on top of an already nearly 4' tall table. One guy in the shop might have been able to run it. LOL Thing ways a ton: 4'x8' x 3/8 (or 1/2") steel plate top. Legs are like 6"-8" square tubing. And 2x6 runners under the table for forks to move it around with a fork lift. Sits on 6" castors.

I DID make it down to town last night(B&R knows what im talkin about lol) to do a few things..
Anyways i was drivin down one of the main roads to my grandmas house and this guy in this 6.0(or at least im pretty sure it was, it had the newer mirrors and sounded different) pulled up next to me. I ws pretty much just cruisin, he was playin with the throttle a few times tryin to get my attention i looked over and i hit it WOT and blew smoke all over the place lol. He pulled up next to me and was like " haha Dude thats Nice!" and gave me the thumbs up. Later on the same stretch of road we cought an open spot. I pulled pretty good on him He pulled up to me at the next light and asked what all was done to it ect and said the he had just gotten exhaust and a filter for his. Oh, i was running the 85hp program BTW.. BR>
    Good stuff. BR>

stock 6.0 vs stock 7.3, the 6.0 is much quieter. you did say he'd done the exhaust, o my guess is that'd explain wh y it seemed louder than normal.

Yeah he also said he had a filter or an intake too so that may explain it as well.
I know the motor is deffinatly quieter but i was thinking that the turbo since i think it puts out more psi is a lil louder.

Make sure they get on it. Under normal driving, the motors are quieter. But he's talking about the actual turbo whine. After the work on LJ's you can hear the turbo start to spool up right off of idle.

happy BJ L-day?? oops they don't have anything to compare it to, so it wouldn't suck that bad.

we'll it's Thanksgiving here today, so i'm lounging around watching Canadian Football while my wife storms around packing and giving me dirty sideways glances cuz i'm being lazy. hey, a guy's entitled to some r&r. i'll hit my packing stride and then it'll be hyper-active time.

i was gonna fix that POS GM van that creator loves so much. now it's the heater level control. doesn't matter what setting you put it at, it blows hot air out the defroster only.
