thanks buddy. it's really taking it's toll on us. we're both pretty frazzelled right now. BUT, another offer being faxed tonight.

well, we played the second (& final) half of our Canada/US golf tourney today. US held a 20-16 lead coming in. the US scored 4 1/2 points today, and us fiesty canucks scored 19 1/2!! WE WIN!! WE WIN!! BR>
creator, i shot an 89 (my first round in the 80s this year i think). back to back birdies for me, and i won low net in the tourney. good enough for a nice ladies gold watch for my daughter.

Not a bad score. I have shot under 90 'bout 10 times so far. Not bad fer a rookieI tend to do much better when I play by myself (not with myself like Hoss) than if I play with friends. Funny thing is, if I'm on the road and playing with complete strangers, I don't do that bad.

img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">OMG...burning wood in CA? what about yer precious air? and your superior enviro standards?! we burn wood too, but the house is too big to get the heat from the fireplace to the maze of rooms. we have 2 wood burning inserts. free standing would be better. now our friends up north have wood burning furnace that blows heat thru all the ducts. but it is so much harder to regulate the heat in those homes. they're always soooooooo hot, I fall asleep about 2 minutes after i get in their house.

Actually depends on where you are. Below 3500' they actually restrict fireplace wood burning, unless it's the only means of heat that you have in your home. The San Joaquin Valley has the second dirtiest air basin in the US behind LA. Though, we might actually make it 3 years in a row w/o going over the Federal PM10 standard. WOOT!

Had a friend whose house was ALWAYS hot in the winter. They had a freestanding stove in the living room. Couldn't get your jacket off fast enough when you walked in there. They always had 2-3 years worth of wood in the back yard. In the summer they ran 2 evaporative coolers and the house was nice.

Posted by: rescuediver

At the old house we had a pretty big fireplace, it would warm up the Family room, dining room, kitchen and front hallSo, we burned wood when the Air board would allow us to. The new house has a fireplace alsoexcept it is big enough to only allow one, 6 inch x 12 inch logthey should of left it out

Posted by: rescuediver

Well, it doesn't look like the weather people know what they are talking about againSome of them are saying we are to hit 90 todaywhat happen to lower tempsStill a 30% chance of rain tomorrow

Yeah. lol
THis fireplace is 4ft wide(at the front) by 32" deep by 32" tall inside.. We get a REALLY good fire goin in it and itll heat the living areas nicely. Sometimes to 75 degrees.
The bedrooms stay cooler but the only times were in there is when were sleeping. So, just bundle up. lol

Posted by: confusedbuyer

well hoss/cybil, you and DQ "miraculously" (suspiciously) post within 5 minutes of each other AGAIN! what are the odds??

well, we pretty much sunk to the rock bottom on our deal. we went from 2 high offers that collapsed, to going back to the first offer that fell apart, skinning ourselves to the tune of 11K...just to give them EVERYTHING they want. I also wasted 2 days doing research and fighting City Hall to try and get them the rezoning answer they wanted (never did pan out). so we concede the 11K grind cuz my wife wants new house SO BAD. she pulled kids out of their school today cuz there was only one opening left in the new school, and took them to the new school (otherwise someone was supposed to start there tomorrow and our kids would have been in separate schools). wife also got new job in same area. this is a 1 hour freeway drive from our current rez. but no biggy if our deal goes thru and move is imminent.

so becuz we want our new place so bad and we have until Sept 30 to sell our place, we give in to everything they ask for. now they've cooled off, don't really want the house cuz it's taken so long. find out they've been trying to buy land from neighbor for subdivision. go talk to neighbor, have a heart to heart, and he offers to knock 3K off his price for land (that buyer had already agreed upon), just to help us out (mighty nice of him). the buyer is still luke warm, but doubtful. lord, give me the strength... i'm ready to take the piano wire out. last night, we thot it was a done deal. NOW........ ??????? and there's so much more to this story that i don't want to print or share just yet.

Posted by: Trasher

Man, that is one crazy home sale you got there. We'll be thinking of you and hope the deal finally get put together.

One thing that drives me crazy about home sales is all the junk they throw at you at the very last moment. I don't care how many times you ask if they have everything they need, they aways want some other piece of paper right before closing

Most holes were 2 putts and a couple were oneOnly had a 3 putt once but I reached the green in one (par 3 ) That's a big difference than playing ping pong trying to get the ball in the hole.

Ditto on what Creator said. If your dealing with a developerHe is just playing the game developers playThey want everything cheap, but sell at highest price. Sounds like he is using you, to work the neighbor for him. Put the wire down;( Everything will work outI know for us in our selling endeavors it didBe strong

unfortunately, my wife has been against me and not an ally. she just wants out of here at ANY price, and into the new place at ANY price (which just happens to be full asking price). I believe you have to have a point (price) where you say to the person grinding you "enuf is enuf, now F... OFF!" well, we've went well below that price already.

Posted by: rescuediver

Hope she doesn't let on to that when the buyers are aroundWhen we had potential buyers come through, I would run everyone including the wife out of the area. They seem to open their mouths up at the wrong time. You never knew what was going to come out of it

Give me a break there buddy. I would be only cheating myself and would have nothing to gainBR>
One thing that has really helped me is that I keep track of every shot. I mark down how many shots to reach the green, how many slices (that number has finally went down, how many putts, and if they are short, long, left, right, etc. That way I can tell with accurate data (can you tell I sell information systems) where I have to improve.

When I play either by myself or with friends or family, I don't worry about beating them. I just keep my own game for me.Otherwise people can get all ticked off and lose the fun of the game.

we couldn't stand the sellers that follow you around when we look at their house, so we always abandon ship, and leave the place looking perfect. sometimes we'll wait outside and the prospective buyers will ask our kids about the neighborhood ( i guess cuz they know adults lie!). well, we spent 5 hours each moving and hiding boxes , and the house is finally presentable again. our time expired last night to have our home sold, but we're still not dead there yet. I doubt the seller will give us another extension. but if we can get an unconditional offer, we could be in bidness. we went to the new school tonight for a BBQ. it's great, we love it, and the kids like it. IF ONLY!!!!!!!!

that's all fine and dandy; i know where i need to improve too, but implementing it is entirely different. i have buddies that just have to turn EVERY game into a competition, gambling match.

Posted by: rescuediver

Man that suxs. Sorry to hear you are going through all thatThe underlying problem is your headaches from what you wrote. You've been having them for quite sometime nowHave the doctor(s) ordered any test? Or, are they just throwing meds at you? Do you think you know where they are stemming from? ie. neck, back, shoulder, etc. Have you been or considered a chiropractor? I was against chiropractors before I had an auto accident in 1992. Tried everything including biofeedback The chropractor helped me kick the meds and headaches, I am now a believer in them.
Have your talked to your boss? If not, let him know what's going on. He might be understanding or at least pay you what he owes you. Samething with your parents. I know we (parents) can be a little hard on our kids and think we are doing the best thing for them. Try and talk to them. They probably see you in bed all the time and get frustrated with that. Sometimes as humans, if we don't know how to help someone out, we think the best way to help, is to whip them like a horse (or in hoss' case a sheep) to get them to respond. They probably want to help, but don't know how. Communication is the key to solving the situation with your parents. IMO As with a lot of things I sayYou can toss this out the window

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Man that sucks. Wish I had a spare $5K sitting around. I'd let you ride the Warrior. BR>
Always remember it's a poor man's sport...if you ain't poor when you start, you will be by the time you're done.

Posted by: confusedbuyer

LJ, that's awful to hear. another thot for headache remedy is dietary changes. no pop. no artificial sweeteners, no caffiene. i don't know much about them other than what friends have said, but this is almost the type of ailment where a Naturopathic doctor might help (and believe me, I'm skeptical of them for a lot of other treatments). no smoking either.

this all sounds very depressing for you, and a ton to handle at your age. i think nobody believes or understands what you're going thru. and it'll be tough, if not impossible, to change their views (altho try some of Rescue's advice; it might help if the other party listening has an open mind and is willing to work with you).

try to avoid knee-jerk decisions like selling your quad. and if ya need to get stuff off your chest, or need to yak, these are all your FBK brothers here, and will all do what they can to try and help out. PMs work too.

i sincerely hope you work your way thru this. just remember, things can always be a lot worse if you look at the suffering around the world that others go thru (hec, even in our own back yards, just read a newspaper or visit a hospital to see the severe suffering of others).

Posted by: dancingqueen

headaches are no good. I have a friend that gets them all the time. So bad that they have to go to the emergency room and get some shot to ease the pain a little. Hope you end up all right...thats no good.

I have no top on the jeep either...its a tad bit cold..and a little wet

i had the exact same thot, MSB, but i just had slightly more class to not say it. altho we did say we'd lay off skinner and start piling on LJ about the MSB jokes, so i guess it's okay.

actually Hoss, you got it backwards.it's the wife always having a "headache" that causes your little head to ache=MSB.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I've got 2 friends who both get headaches. The other guy was able to get them under control with blood pressure meds.

We just need to find LJ a desk job. Like what I got. LOL. I'm sure we could turn him into a pretty good screw off at work. LOL.

First of all, I'll have you know I get my porn off of USENET, tyvm.

Wait...maybe I shouldn't have said that...oh hell...I'm a single guy... If you deny it, you're a liar. If you admit it, you're a pervert. Rather be a pervert than a liar! LOL

I don't have a problem loading the pages (especially since I jumped to descending order...holy cow it's fast now.) It's that *(^%ing Flash ads. ESPECIALLY the Honda ones. I knew I didn't like Honda. LOL. The Suzuki and Bomb ands don't seem to be as bad. Maybe they know what they are doing. If it gets bad I just turn off JavaScript and they don't load.

I've lightened up the foot a little. Got an extra 1.5 MPG on the last tank I figured. I forgot to write down my fuel on Sat and tossed the receipt. Was following some people heading out to play airsoft and didn't have time. I do a lot of coasting. If the light 1/2 a block away is red, I just coast it. Saves the brakes too. Like I'm worried about that. With the temp down a bit I've turned off the A/C unless it's really humid and drive with the window down unless I get on the highway. Goes up 3/4 the way at 50 MPH. Not sure how well doing the coasting thing with a diesel would work. I think it would slow down too fast. I guess if you drive a manual you could just pop into neutral (just don't get caught...)

The money goes to either Peter or Paul. Rob one to pay the other.

I think a LOT of people have been watching it. The last couple of fuel inventories have REALLY suprised the analysts. Think if everyone dropped 10% of their fuel consumption (I did...and it looks like MD dropped MUCH more).

Need to get your own plane if you fly that much. My boss is usually at his destination before he'd make it through the Gestapo and onto a plane. Though AvGas 110LL is running about $4.10/gallon right about now.

I bet you do. That flight is long enough to get up and go to the bathroomThen sit down, to buckle back up to land

got a really good deal on a KTM 50 Pro senior tonight (for the 8 y/o). no owner's manual tho. so where's a good forum to get info on these kids dirtbikes? where's Job? (MWQ). they're kinda funny 2-stroke. automatic, chain drive. so you hold open throttel, it screams and clutch engages. then it slowly accelerates, and all of a sudden it's a rocket. kinda scary.

anyways, i need info on it.

Posted by: confusedbuyer

WOW MD!! looks like a fancy new castle yer in there! 3 car attached garage?! i'm having problems viewing pics (anyone's). when i enlarge them and try to close out, I always get kicked off the site and have to log back in again. what a pain when you want to enlarge EACH pic to get a better look. so i can only look at the mini-pics.

Damn that sounds scary. I'd say MWQ would be a good one on KTM. I think there's a KTM site out there. Might have to PM him, not sure if he patrols here or not.

Yea, it's a 3 car attached. The tandem part is actually like having another 1 1/2 garageit goes back pretty farThere's a deep freezer tucked back in there tooBehind the first wall is a bathroom, trying to figure out how to make a doorway into itMaybe a pocket door.

LOL!, yea the garage is almost as big as our old houseYou are correct, they call it a tandemWhen the quads are on a trailer, I can back the trailer and the truck into the garage for storageHowever, it might be to troublesome to do that. Easier to park it on the RV pad.

this is tough to post. deal #3 with the same losers died tonight. their subjects were supposed to be removed tonight. they were allegedly 10K short on their financing. funny, they skinned me for 11K, and had negotiated with my neighbor to buy 5 feet of land, and then skinned him another 10K off his bottom line. so if they were negotiating to buy his 5', how is it they were short on their financing to buy my place?! NOWHERE in the contract do they identify that our deal was subject to doing a land acquisition with our neighbor. did i mention this is the THIRD deal with the same people, and on all 3 occasions they drag us out to the very end of subject removal date before weaseling out? and on 2 of 3 occasions they've tried to knock off 21K. we gave in the first 11, but NO WAY on the last 10.

so now the new place sits in limbo. we have no firm deal on it anymore cuz our time ran out. so we have to hope that when we get our next offer that the house we want is still available, AND, the subjects clear. waiting a week for all the subjects to come off can be hell. the new place has a 3 car detached garage/shop, 1250 sq', with 10' high doors. so all this talk about MD's garage makes me feel glad for MD, but at the same time, makes me angrier and angrier about the stuff we're going thru. unfortunately, the entire market of buyers we appeal to has ZERO integrity or morals, and are shrewd grinders. we, on the other hand, have given our seller EVERYTHING he wants, with zero comprimise on his part.

OOPS, sorry for the rant guys. this is a PSD forum. i was hoping to put a hoist in the shop to work on the PSD. so some other PSD buddy claims he used an additive to his fuel that's giving him an extra 100 miles per tank. I find that impossible to believe. i'll get the name of it and post it.

Posted by: Trasher

Sorry to hear about the deal diving. Look at the good side here. Now you do not have to rush into just any deal and select doing business with who you want to, not who you have to. Like I typed earlier, sometimes they smell blood and want everything for free.

Isn't it funny that they just had to have an extra 5 ft from the next door neighbor and were willing to purchase it but couldn't come up with the cash to purchase your house in the first place. Go figure...............img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Years ago, I used to manage this ol timer and he used some additive in EVERYTHING that used gas, oil, or fuel. He claimed it keep the engine cleaner than new inside and increased his mileage and performance. I forget what it was called but he bought it in 55 gallon drums.

He did show me some valve covers off his diesel cat engine that he ran in his pete for a couple hundred thousand miles and they were clean as a whistle.

Posted by: rescuediver

Confused, that totally stinksDon't you request a down payment? To show good faith on the buyer's part. I know down here, it's usually $2,000- $5,000(depends on sale price of the home). Then, if the buyer can't produce or remove subjects like yours, within a certain time period (like 7-10 days) you keep the money for getting screwed and passing on other potential buyers.

I still pray the deal on your new place holds up for youWhat your getting is a REAL shop
