Well, Confused, How did the inspection go? Do we need to call 1-800-JW-a- ur- door, to come and visit you. And tell you it's not the end of the world and if it was, they will save youThey may even help fix that trailer, just for some companionshipBR>
You are right, the daughter, not only is she the brain of the operations, but also, the brawn tooBR>I will have a few things to do while the wifey is gone. Hopefully, the heat will subside and I can finish the garage. It's no fun in there, when it's 100 outside, it's about 130 in the garage
But, of course that will be after I get back from the Snake riverBR>

Creator, I have a 4" lift on my truck and am running 33" tires. The ride is great. It actually rides better, then my old '00 Chevy Z71. I don't think you'll get a set of 37" tires under a 4 or 5" lift

Skinner, so far we have been alright with the topicsSome of them have come close to going over the edgeut, we have survivedIf, anything, sometimes I think we need to move this to the "other atv topic" sectionBut then, we come right back to the topic that Creator asked about, and that is, the 7.3 Powerstroke, vehicle of choice for FBK

good giddly golly, that sounded like a big ol blast to the FBK gang. you need to review the bible, Ephisians 5:22, ...." you wives must submit to your husband's leadership"...

5:23"For a husband is in charge of his wife in the same way Christ is in charge of the church."

5:24 "So you wives must willingly obey your husbands in everything, just as the church obeys Christ"

and Mr. Hoss, you'd do well to put this into practice, aswell as Proverb 5:15, "drink from your own well my son, be faithful and true to your wife". so you need to decide which of the sheep that will be. you see, good ol Ned has read some of your old posts and you do seem to have quite a perverted streak in you.

and Principal Skinner and confused, even the young fella, little joe, Proverb 15:33, "Humulity and reverence for the lord will make you both wise and honored". especially the confused one, he's a real heathen.

and yes, my nieghbor (not Homer) had a Jetta diesel and it ran great and went like holy smokes. German engineering, I think they make the only decent small car diesel engine (and Mercedes). heed the words of Montgomery Burns though, "Ooooww, the Germans are coming, the Germans are coming, I'm really scared".

tood-tood-toodely-do.

Read that close Hoss. TRUCK. I need a brake job so the Woo (nickname for Daewoos...not a part of the female anatomy) is gonna sit. Need to order the pads. Be lucky if Kragen/AutoZone/etc. actually have the things. I'll just go back to GM for them. Recommended by my cousin's hubby.

That 4.3L V6 can do a good job busting the rear end loose. The Nubira makes peak torque up at like 4500RPM. And I'm not sure about power jacking that thing. It IS a GM tranny after all. <snicker> Actually that tranny is pretty sweet. Of course it has the well exposed "Power" mode (which just moves the shift points up like 500-1000RPM). But it also has some smarts to it, kinda like a Porsche Tiptronic. Toss it in "1" and it will shift right before it redlines the motor. All the way up into 3rd. Maybe OD, not sure on that one. And it will also aggressively downshift. Haven't tried this but I just might as long as I know the PoPo isn't around. 2nd gear topped out alone is above legal speeds.

My wise, or unwise depending on how you look at it, uncle once imparted some good advice to me, "You might be able to out run a Crown Vic, but you can't outrun a Motorola." I think that says it all. hehehe. Fresno PD had to replace their piston helicopters with turbines....they were literally getting outrun. One time in the summer of ohh...'99 probably, maybe before that, they were chasing a Chevy truck and couldn't keep up with it. They were having to cut corners and head him off. He finally popped a bead when he hit a center island.

In the summer because of the heat, and reduced carrying capacity because of the thinner air, they have to leave behind some of their toys. The funny thing was when they bought those Enstroms, they touted the piston engine motors as being quieter. Now in the move to the trubines, they are touting how THEY are quieter than piston motors. And I'll tell yah, they are. While I was out with the Mormon Chick on Friday night one of the new Ghetto Birds was up running a race track. Half the time you couldn't hear him. Usually from the frontal area. From the back it just sounded REALLY weird.

I do know of a few curves thought would be cool to fly around on, but I'm completely stock on the car and I don't wanna fly over an edge. Highway 49, especially south of Bagby Recreation area. Power knows this area...BR>
Wow, it sure is pretty funny to see where all we've gone with this thread.

On the Nubira, I've never actually busted the front end loose. I always see spinning tires as a waste of power. I was just teed off last night and jumped on the gas pedal taking off from a corner. When I jump on it too hard on the Nubira it gets some nasty torque steer going on.

Posted by: rescuediver

Skinner, there is a lot of truth to that saying about MotorolaHelicopters, we have one, don' t really keep up on them. Seems they are never working when you really need themWe usually use the local EMS helicopters or requests CHP's out of Fresno.
So, did the Ghetto bird, catch the skinner and Ms. Mormon in a strange position
I don't think any part of Hwy 49 isn't curvy. That is a nasty, narrow highway

Posted by: confusedbuyer

can't contribute to the whirly bird chat, cuz i know zero 'bout it. BUT windy highway, this one is wicked... take highway 20 from Anahim Lake to Bella Coola. It's 23 miles and tons of switchbacks and hairpins with no guard rails, 5000' drop. carved out of a mtn. not paved. takes over an hour to drive that section. it goes from 5000' to sea level, with a six mile section at 18 percent grade, mostly one lane wide during the steep part. some nice, sheer drops there. I REALLY wanna see you guys pull the B-train set ups down that hill. I don't know how to post a link, but if you do a google search for highway 20 Bella Coola, you'll get several hits and some specifically about "the hill". beautiful area, full of grizzly and black bears. a friend of mine is a bear biologist there.

the locals built the road that everyone said couldn't be built, and gov't refused to fund it. two bulldozers started on either side and touched blades in the middle.

creator, add another off-topic to the list, but this one is related in that it emphasizes the importance of having a good exhaust brake for your diesel.

hi diddly-do there Hoss.

you missed the point. i saw earlier you were accused of being a misogenist. I just wanted to relay that Ephisians essentially preaches that's a good thing, and you're supported in your quest to rule the home with an iron body part. that is, if there's enough blood flow left to get that part to iron.

the other part was just a warning to choose your sheep wisely.

actually, creator started the thread, but you're the one that dubbed it FBK and gave it life. what creativity for a frat boy. maybe creator should do another scan of all the posts and see how many names you've been given... fratboy, pervert, stalker, deviant, pp, hoss.

ol Ned thinks you're really a baaaaa-baaaa-baaad-boy. i'm sure there's a flock that agrees.

Ned...poor, poor Ned...you are such an ill informed soul. I'm not a bad boy, I'm just a little bit like Dennis the Mennis. I like to stir things up and walk away...

Hey, do you even own a Ford? You probably drive one of those "Short Buses" that you use to haul the "Flock" around. By the way, your kids are nerds.

Posted by: nedflanders

well, well, well, there's no reason to insult rod and todd, they're the apple of Maude's and my eyes. I have a former airport shuttle bus with a Powerstroke. I use it to haul around Rev. Lovejoy and the rest of the congregation.

I have a cattle-hauler for the g/f's, i mean sheep.

I just went to get some lunch (in my Ford Crew Cab w/7.3 liter Diesel) at a place about a mile from work, and there were two Vinson quadrunners sitting in front of the eating establishment / gas station. I wanted to run them over, cuz they wasn't Polaris, but I didn't want to scratch my truck.BR>
Hey Ned, no one wants to play today. WTH?

Posted by: nedflanders

by-bubbly-boo-botchilism Hoss, you eat at gas stations? you really do need some professional help, more than ol Ned's spiritual guidance can provide. there must be some trashy skirt, floozy waitress there that you're having impure thoughts about. have you thought of a frontal lobotomy, or was that a bottle-in-front-of-me from your wild frat days?

I'm ashamed to admit, but I think i've scared away the rest of the congregation. sorry folks, Ned will go back to his wild beatnik parents upbringing ways.

a Vinson is still much nicer than anything Polaris ever made though. built by Suzu-korea.

What do you mean there is a lot of nothing here?
Just read from the start to view all this valueable information listed within the thread that never dies.

WWater- why would you mow over unsuspecting Vinson's? May not be your favorite brand but they still are bro's. Everyone should be riding something. It would be a better world if we all rode

Posted by: confusedbuyer

wow, did I get a lot of little projects done tonight. hung up a new mailbox for gadget (wife), tuned the carb on the Breeze and figured out the reverse switch (turns out i was just a moron...big surprise there huh?), fixed flat tire on Matt's bike and lubed chain, added fluids to the GM van, took apart propane valves on bbq and blew air through them, suddenly my regulator problem seems fixed, put my new soft carry bag on the Kodiak (only $20 brand new), cleaned up major mess in my shop, took out garbage... I'm sure there's more.

hey mormon/ moron.. wow, are those 2 words ever close. no offence intended, just a casual observation. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

LOLThat is quite a bit to get done. Did you update your thread about the carb? Not that anyone over there would care or be interestedBR>
Why did you take your bbq valves apart? were they plugged? Did you guys up north, have to convert your propane valves to the new valves, like us last year?

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Ok ok <fit of laughter> I have to share this. It at least involved a Ford.

Ok, I'm in Lowe's looking for some stuff (getting into air brushing) so. I come out and here is this BRAND NEW F-150 sitting there. No plates yet. Lowered with like 20" wheels and low profile tires. What's in the back you ask? Well how about a full pallet of concrete pavers! I'm not kidding. The fenders were sitting on the back tires. If I was the manager of that store, I'd be beating on whoever loaded that pallet into that truck. I don't think anything broke... The lady got out of her truck, locked it and walked somewhere...I was driving off in a fit of laughter.

Ouch, that's alot of weight back thereven for a superduty. Even though it's a Ford, it still needs some steroids to get the job doneBR>
Getting into air brushing, HHmmmm, Do you know how to do any brushing now? Or, are youreally just starting? I've been thinking about getting my helmet done

Posted by: Trasher

If it could even move, I'd love to watch the way she drives it. Probably hammers it out the lot and through the speed bumps

Posted by: rescuediver

I'm sure there is enough horsepower to turn the wheelsJust hope, the tires aren't sitting on the wheel wellsShe'll have a heck of a smoke show going down the road

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I was SOOOO hoping she would leave. I wanted to watch the fenders cut right into those tires. hehehe. Ouch. Body work AND new tires. I should have ran home and got the digital camera. I think she called someone to come help her out.

It's not the horsepower, it's the torque that does the work. BR>
Well my brother bought this air brush back around Xmas time. And it's been sitting there for 8 mos. So, I figured I'd bust it out and go to town. Gonna play with a couple of old hard hats first. Then I'd like to do something with the helmet. Though it's got a need finish on it as it is, something custom would be cool.

I found a really cool website for air brushing. So it is now part of my round robin of sites I check. Terrorizing them already too with my long posts. If I can find someone who has old plastics or cut their fenders down I'm going to see what I can do on some plastics. The new water based acrylics are supposed to be a lot more flexible. One guy says they hold up well to drunk people on golf carts. He does a lot of custom painted golf carts. But we'll see. Have to put a ton of coats of clear I think to make it not get scratched.

Maybe some natural color flames over the black plastic tank cover on my Warrior. hmmmm. It tends to take the least amount of beating of all the plastics on my bike.

Posted by: rescuediver

Yea,Yea,Yea, You knew what I meantBR>
Don't you love itwhen someone gets something for Christmas, it sits aroundand you eventually use itCan't complain about thatBR>
I'm sure you can find some plastic around your local body shops. Or ,see if anyone around the forum, will mail you some if you pay the shipping

Posted by: confusedbuyer

the bbq was acting wierd. one side of the burner would work, but at a reduced efficiency. when i turned on the other side, they both barely burn. it was like there wasn't enough pressure, so i figured it was the tank regulator. I bought a new regulator but i couldn't use it cuz my hoses are factory crimped at the spot where they join the on/off/ heat dials. I thought, no way I was buying that whole apparatus. and the real P-off was that I bought a new burner, middle rack and handle 2 weeks ago ($75). so i thought I had nothing to lose, took apart the heat dial thingies (I guess they're a valve and a regulator too, but not the tank valve or regulator). blew air through them, played around with it, and got it working great now. add gas fitter to my list of trades.

it's funny, we switched our tank valves to a different style a few years ago. they have a different thread, and nothing comes outta the tank when you open the valve, unless somehing is screwed into it. BUT, when we were in Oregon, the good 'ol boy wouldn't fill it cuz it didn't have a triangle shaped valve handle. i think it has the same safety feature.

my outlaws live across the street. (what a treat). he always takes my old tanks with the old, out of date valves and fills them at work. I should say, overfills them. they hiss like crazy on hot days to vent the pressure, which shows the valve is working. I guess there's a lot of safety overkill, I'll tell ya more after the explosion

reminds me of the parachutist who's chute wouldn't open. at about 100', a guy goes shooting past him. the chutist says, "you know anything about ripcords?", the guy hollers back, "no, you know anything about leaky gas valves?"

my Lennox furnace wouldn't work last year and I figured out the problem. they wouldn't sell me parts cause i don't have a gas ticket. ??

I think Flanders was trying to think of the most exotic place he could, and that's why he pretended to be from here. OR, he was trying to elevate his thread status and credibility by linking himself with the coolest guy on the forum. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> . It would make sense.

Flanders seems to have caught on to the Hoss trashing pretty quick. oh, i guess everyone gets that part down right away. c'mon Rev. Ned, let's see some pics!

Posted by: confusedbuyer

I guess i should post the fix on Breeze. I figure, 1 1/2 turns out and fine tune from there. I'm at about 2 turns out. the other thing is to watch the plug from there to see if you're too rich or lean.

my friend works at Home depot. a "new Canadian" from an Asian country bought 40 sheets of gyproc (that's sheetrock for you good 'ol boys). he insisted they load it on the ROOF of his beamer!! they argued for 30 minutes with the guy to try and convince him. they never did load it. I would have loved to see that car get pancaked.

hey, did you guys ever see the email that circled around about a year ago with the Volks Rabbit or Golf burried under a load of building materials? Hilarious stuff!!

Posted by: rescuediver

Yea, we went to the triangle valve thingy last year or so. So, I guess your screwedwhen you come southake sure when you leave home, your tanks are full. I wish, I had someone who could fill my tanks, but no, I don'tBR>
I agree, Rev. Ned needs to post some pictures. But, he sure did take a liking to HossBR>I guess, if I didn't know any betterI would say, I was from the great, white north tooYou are a sportsmens paradise

Yea, that would of been a site to be seenBR>Think his insurance would of covered it

Posted by: confusedbuyer

ya, stupidity is covered.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Ahh Good 'ol OPD (Overfill Prevention Device). That's the "triangle hand thing" that confused mentioned. I think that's actually a federal thing. Dept. of Transportation. The thing is, our 8 gallon vertical tanks at the office don't have a triangular handle but they are ok to fill. I even asked them about them. I think they actually have some kind of OPD in them. You can hear something moving around in there. Basically it's a just a float valve that closes as the tank fills.

Actually the cheap place to get the new OPD tanks is at Costco. I think I paid like $17 for mine. BR>
I have to laugh though. All those old tanks...just sitting around. LOL. I know there has to be THOUSANDS sitting there at that propane place at Highway 120 and Highway 99. To the south of 120. Southbound side of 99.

Actually, the cheapest way to get one is at Home Depot. Use the Blue Rhino system. Buy the tank filled at $12.95 and all you need to do is take off the plastic label and it's all yours. When the valve doesn't work anymore, take it in and trade it in on a new refilled oneBR>
Also, next time you go past 99/120, look at a few of the 50 gallon tanks along fence line, they had a fire there last year. Wasn't pretty, tanks going like hot cakesome of the tanks still have the black burn marks from the fireBR>

well hi diddly-doo there FBK guys. Ned's not hiding anything. I thought it was the fashionable thing to do, to pretend i'm from Canada, and it's pure and clean, just like me. who knows, next week I could be from Utah, or central California... but CA is a little too sinful for my liking.too much pre-marital jiggy-jiggy there. I see pp/hoss/stalker changes his info all the time, so I thought I should too. as for pickin' on Hoss, that just seems to be what the rest of you do, so i thought I'd pile on.

I wasn't trying to re-name him, just commenting that he changes his avatar a lot.

and Miss Kitty, you'd do well to read my previous posts quoting from Ephisians. Valuable information there that will serve you well for the rest of your life. It's sure helped Maude.

photos will come soon. I ride a Polaris 500, what else would you expect from Ned? nothing but good old American made ingenuity and reliability.

well, toodely-doo.

Well that thread sure explains things.... No, I don't get out much (look at other forums) so I never knew. Let's just hope they don't find FBK to be offensive to GM, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, etc. owners. Though all sides did seem to have their points. Some people are just to sensitive I think.

Oh yeah... Miss Kitty. That's right. Sorry, at my advanced age my memory is beginning to fail me. I think it's actually the noxsious fumes from 2 strokes.

hey MD, hope ya have a great one! we're going for a week of riding and camping (somewhere yet to be determined) on Sunday. we shouldn't have much catching up to do on FBK cuz we probably do the most yackin. With friday tomorrow, Hoss won't work so he won't be posting for a few days (let me re-phrase that, he never "works", so he won't be at work tomorrow to play on his computer).....That also means Flanders won't be hitting on him. that only leaves skinner and little joe/otto to chat, and the creator may share some brief, insightful wisdom with his loyal subjects. Unless...... Pa comes back and really ramps it up again??And Miss Kitty just drops in to let us know she's still alive, but she won't read our wise, insightful trash or take any of our chat-bait. did I miss anyone?

oh, I'm still giggling over your photos Flanders. I agree with ya though, I've also seen more attractive heads on zits, compared to Hoss' mug. But now that he's finally got the mean Hoss mug for an avatar, he's gained a bit of credibility.

ya, it is dead. problem with sexy panties is they never last long, they always get ripped or torn too quick. dunno how.

smelling bras? you really are a freak. think of the that 450lb guy in his basement pretending to be the just4 girls. he's just finished enjoying himself in the wally changeroom, and completes the eroticism by touching all the ladies bras... and you're sniffing that?!eeewww. kinda gives you a new perspective. side bet, do you think this reply will get censored, and if so, WHEN? WOW Detroit! ain't no place for a country boy, not even Hoss. whadya think about that? you can't possibly commute to do that job can ya? Oh well, it's better than being tapped on the shoulder and being given a pink slip instead of a promotion. BR>

Hoss, you got me all riled with that sexy talk, i may have to go to my basement...never mind... bra-sniffer.

yep, Ephisians was for all the ladies and girlfriends. i thought I'd impart some of the lord's wisdom. I've found those quotes always help me succeed (terminate) in relationships.

and I thought you were a Masters educated frat boy? Confused is correct, it's principle, not principal. principal is the man who you used to enjoy having spank your bum. you may be too young for that, maybe it was me that enjoyed it. BR>

Anyways, I haven't been around much. Some work actually came down the line. Working on a shopping center up towards MD's way (Ceres). Got drawings for a new little shops (as in little retail stores) portion. So I had to deal with them. Cleaning up some computer. Getting rid of all the spyware.

The supervisor is back from his 5 week vacation tomorrow so I may or may not be around as much. Gonna be a busy week next week. I'd like a 10-20K raise too.... BR>
Board has been slow today cause everyone used all the posting powers yesterday on the gallery. Have to go check that one out....

Posted by: nedflanders

I was referred to the "gallery" thread. I read 8 pages and found it to be the most mindless, immature waste of time I've experienced in a long time .and it would grow by 2 pages for every one that I read. i'd join their chat, but I'm afraid I'll get turd-punched by all that h0mo$exual rhetoric going back and forth. at least Hoss likes sheep, i'm assuming of the opposite gender.

I'm actually deeply insulted that Miss Kitty would find that thread more intriguing than this one. This one is full of witty banter, clever humor and good-natured ribbing. at times Hoss and confused see how close they can flirt with the morality-police without getting chastised.... but they're never rude or swearing. that other thread is akin to the Jerry Springer show. actually, sorry for the insult Springer.

we've got trash TV, now we've got trash ATV. It's quite an imbroglio they've got going over there (yep, you'll need to look that one up).

w00t! Got a huntin dog!...

Well, not really.

We went and looked at a 6mo Black Lab yesterday and ended up bringing her home.
She has a few issues mostly just jumping up on people, licking(not a bad thing) and she wont let me go anywhere without her getting all upset.. But were working with her on that now...
Shes gonna be a good Jeep trail dog and a horse ridin dog...

Its funny, If my mom leaves or my dad does she just watches them leave. But as soon as i leave shes starts whining and barking.. Not really sure what to do about that, but whatever..

Posted by: confusedbuyer

little joe, we had a jumping up problem with our Retriever. Too friendly!! A dog trainer told us to put the dog on a leash when you know it will want to jump up, like when someone comes over to the house, or when you or your parents first come home. when the dog starts going rank, stand on the leash so it can't jump up. OR, turn and raise your knee when the dog jumps up, and make a squeal noise. the dog thinks it's hurting you when you make the squeal noise ( the same noise Hoss makes when he corners one of his flock on the cliif edge ), and it doesn't like getting your knee when it jumps up. I like the standing on the leash better. Good luck.

And there's a name for what Hoss does to the farm animals, it's called beastiality!

Hey you guys, I hate to get back to the subject of this thread, but, I finally bit the bullet and got me a Superchips re-programmer for my 97 Powerstroke. Here's what I think so far:

It came on Friday and when I got home I couldn't WAIT to install the thing. I used the middle program that's called "performance towing", meaning towing stuff under 6,000 pounds. I think my utility bed weighs 3k, and my ATV trailer with two ATV's is maybe 2k, so this is cool. I haven't towed anything at all yet, but I took it out for a 'test ride' right after the installation. It installed in about five minutes.

It started right up, so I breathed a sigh of relief. Then off I went on our street, not noticing much difference - yet. Then it shifted. Bam, and I was in the next gear. Wow. Then BAM, we were in the NEXT gear. No more slip 'n slide shifting. No more feeling like it has a belt drive like my ATV!

Out onto Hwy 50 where the speed limit is 55. I purposely caught the red light. Light turns green and I pour the coals to it. Man, it's a damned rocket ship! And Bam, Bam, BAM, we're in top gear and I have to take my foot out of it. I'm like a kid in a candy shop. What a difference! I can't wait to see how it works towing. And when we go on vacation next month and we're towing two trailers, I'll bump the program down one to the "safe towing" program for towing over 6,000 pounds. I think I'm gonna be happy with this...

Now, back to the other topics.

Congrats Tommy. Sounds like you are really happy with your new toy.

Posted by: Trasher

I noticed a couple of those re-programmer kits have digital readout so you don't need to get the gauge package. What's the deal with your's? Do you have gauges also?

Sounds like it hits pretty hard. You trans should last longer with the firmer shifts.

Posted by: confusedbuyer

I thot mine shifted smoother after the 60HP chip, and definitely way more giddy-up. You've probably missed that you've been re-named Pa Cartwright. So Pa, yours sounds really cool with different settings that are specific to what you're doing (i.e. towing). Presumably, this should be easier on truck and you shouldn't have any tranny problems.

you put it in yourself in 5 minutes? did you have to disassemble the computer and clean all that waxy stuff off the circuit board? I had to on mine, and the mechanic buddy told me most people don't clean it good enough to get the proper contact. If it works, you got good contact.

skinner, congrats on your founding member status.

Hey Fella's, it was a fruitful weekend. I went riding (got a little trail action if you know what I mean). Got shot at...that was really fun. Anywho...

Hey Confused, I thought you were going camping?

Is Mrs. Whitewater's daddy still lookin for you two after all these years? Ok, I know we all want details on the whole getting shot at thing. Ok, maybe just me.

Posted by: MrTommy

Let's see if I can remember what I'm supposed to answer here. Old age, bad memory, you know the story...

Ok, it only took five minutes because I'm not actually "installing" anything. I just plug the Superchips re-programmer into the data plug under the dash, and off we go. It downloaded my stock program, then asked me which one of three different ones I wanted to use, then installed it and that was that.

No, it's got no digital readout. I think "The Edge" has that. It does however, download all the data/error codes from the computer and tell you what a mechanic sees when he plugs his big-buck computer in.

Yeah, someone else told me the 'harder' shifting was actually better for the tranny than the soft, mushy, sliding way it comes from the factory (at least in 97...).

Pa Cartwright? Me? Yeah, I missed that. I just don't have the time to keep up with you guys. I'm gone a lot, and when I'm home I'm expected to act like I'm home. Imagine that...

Whitewater, you don need no steeking cheep. You gotta da big motor anyway. Mine is probably STILL not as tall as yours!

Pa, everyone has a new nickname here. you're pa, B&R is skinner, rescue is Marshall Dillon (MD), ww is Hoss, Trasher is creator, powerstroke is little joe (LJ), dancing queen is miss kitty. Hoss has had several names while you were gone like stalker, PP, etc,..., but he snivelled and whined that he didn't like it. Man, he complains more than a pms'ing... never mind.

Hoss, our forecast was for rain for most of da week (and we've had 2-3 days of hard rain), so we delayed it a little, plus I spent the past 2 days putting up railings on my obnoxious neighbor's deck.we'll load up today and leave tomorrow. yep, i really wanna know why you're father-in-law was shooting at you too. did it require a clean change of underwear after? And if you had an action ride, why did you take you're ewe instead of your wife?

Posted by: Whitewater

Why is it that when people are in the mountains, they insist on shooting things up?

Okay, here's what happened...I was riding down the trail just minding my own business (ya know, after the "Joy Ride"), and I hear gun shots...gees, and I thought we were all by ourselvesimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> Anywho, my wife says, "was that a gun?", of course, I didn't think much of it until we come to the trailhead, and a couple of guys scramble with guns. Now get this, they said, "were we shooting at you?" Here's your sign. They were shooting down the trail.

hey Hoss, remember i told you I sometimes work hard in binges. just walked in the door at 4:00AM from work, even tho I'm on vacation. how do ya like this comment, I'm explaining how something works and person is a little frustrated cuz it's a hassle.she's in a similar line of work as me and comments, "the level of service depends on the individual and how much they're willing to help you". I think, hmmmm, I'm on vacation, I come to see you the same evening we first speak, in the comfort of your home so you can chain smoke, nauseate me and have your cats climb all over me. I stay till 1:00AM to get all the stuff needed and answer tons of questions from you and your friends, then go back to my office to hand write a 5 page report and then fax it to the company.. get home at 4:00AM. Can anyone ask for more but-kissin service than that? NOBODY has ever done that for me, and I don't expect them to. but how 'bout some acknowledgement in light of that comment? and I'm sure this person has never given that kinda service in their similar field.

'kay, i'm done venting now. help me Flanders!

you gotta love the way some people act today. That level of commentment is rare. Did you get the deal is the bottom line?

that wasn't a circle, it was a big "L".

well, got all loaded up by 4:30, just in time for rush hour. plus, got soaked in the process. now I'm just killing time so we can leave after traffic. heavy rain after several dry days always means super slow traffic. Sure hope it doesn't rain for our holidays.

When I was pulling the trailer out, I couldn't understand why 4 low was having such a tough time. Then my wife came out frantically waving her arms. I had the spare tire wedged underneath the trailer axles and was dragging it on a dead pull. Man them PSDs have power!!!

Posted by: Whitewater

Yeah dummy, the L stands for Laverne.

Spare tire? Are you sure it wasn't the spare tire around your waist interferring with the steering wheel? You sure are smart.BR>
Hey, have fun!!!!!!!!

I once saw a guy do the same thing with his BBQ. We all laughed our butt$ off!!!He was too far to yell at so couldn't do much about it at the time. He towed the toybox right over it before he found out.

it was kinda funny cuz i thot it was the cord for the fridge, but I knew I'd unplugged it. and it happened after I'd smacked my head once on a clearance light, then again on my atv deck, and then pinched my finger closing a side-storage door on the trailer. when you're exhausted, you really shouldn't push yourself, but I always do! BUT, I did see the sense in not leaving at rush hour to hurry up and wait, and then not arrive till dark to an area I've never been to before. so leaving like Tony Orlando tomorrow... you know, something about the crack of Dawn I know that one's on the line, but I sanitized it a little and only us old buggers have a clue what I'm talking about there. the kids are just wondering, huh??

Laverne, that's funny, forgot all about that disaster. Laverne would certainly fit your cross-dressing and tranny ways. why did that name come to you so naturally? Is that the name of your most loyal and obedient ewe?

unfortunately, you're right about the spare tire. one day it will be gone, but not today. besides, from what I see of other atvers, I've got the perfect physique to blend in with the pack. In commeration of the Olympics: while you're busy trying to look like a dam greek god, the rest of us look like goddam greek!

Marshal Dillon, yer back WAY too early. what happened to 10 days no wife, no kids??I know! ya had to get back to park the squad car down the street of that groupie we were razzin ya about before ya left. just don't let the family see this post, and your secret will be safe with the FBK boys. and how can ya say fishin wasn't very good in one breath and then tell us all about that huge haul in the next breath? sounds pretty decent to me.

Guess, in my tired state,(long drive) I didn't make myself clearhate it when that happensFishin for us started out slow, then, a day of rain. Finally, something took us to this point, and told us to put our lines in here. Which we did. For about 1 1/2 hours, we were pulling the fish out 2 at a time. We actually had both nets going at the same timeuite a few time

That's great mileage

Posted by: Whitewater

I would just like to say, welcome back MD.

Dang, I wish I could get mileage like that. I get about 15.

Posted by: rescuediver

Thanks HossBR>
Yes, it is great mileageI figured out that as long as I feather the gas pedal, I get better mileage. But, if I'm always into it, I can literally watch the fuel guage move was towing a 14' boat, so, it was under a little load. But, I was definately please when it came to the fuel pump. Of course when your only going 60 mph when the speed limit is 75, your watching the world pass you buySo, I figured, I could live with 18 mpg

Posted by: Trasher

15-18 is still pretty sweet for dragging around that much weight.
Ya gotta love them PSD'simg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Posted by: rescuediver

Creator, I agree. I get 13-15 around town with hwy 99 traffic thrown in everydaySo, I'm definately into the pedalut, I was glad to see 22 mpg if I want to take my sweet time going somewhere. Made it from Ontario, Oregon or was it Idaho, hhhmmmm, anyways, it's at the Oregon/Idaho border, all the way to Reno on a tank of fuel (about 400 miles) and still had about 5 gallons to go in the tankBR>Had to go up a 6% grade for 3 miles, it was no problem for the PSDruised right alongBR>
Hoss, your mileage must be effected by the high altitude your atlso, was told that you don't get your best mileage until around 80,000 miles. Are you there yet? If not, you still might have a chance to see a improvement. I'm at 71,000 miles. So, I'm probably getting the best mileage right now.

Posted by: Trasher

I have a small block Suburban running a 383 stroker motor that gets about 18-20 hwy and about 14 towing a 18ft trailer. I want to sell that and get a big block Burb but that puppy will only get about 10 mpg dragging the box around.

So, trueJust like everything else, you have to start somewhereBut, the rewards are great. seeing that first fish pulled inI remember all the frustrations when we started riding. Daddy start the quad, daddy I'm stuck, daddy need gas, daddy this, daddy that. Now, they are self-sufficient and I really don't hear that anymoreThey even know how to check the oil and add more if needed. They even clean the sand and dirt away from the oil orfices. When you have to do it over and over again it gets tiring. But, when you don't 'have" to do it anymore, then you miss itAtleast I do

Ive learned that those shows didnt hardly help me at all. Most of the learning i did was in books and on-lake experiance..

And fishing can be poo anywhere if you dont know what to use.. well, most of the time. There are those days when you go out and can look at the fish and still not catch them..

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Only fishing I've done of resecent, and that's been 2 years ago now, is deep sea fishing out of Moro Bay. Seems like every time we went the fish got smaller and smaller. It's all those sport fishing guys paying $50 head to go catch fish 10 at a time if you ask the environmentalists. argggg. The problem is the commercial guys just going out and scooping stuff up. But then they've also been on the sucky end of the environmentalists as well.

Posted by: rescuediver

LJ, your right on knowing what bait to use. At first we were using, shrimp and minnows. We were getting some fish, but, not all that much. Then we learned about Baptist (brown) Crickets and Mormon (black) Crickets. Hoss should know about the Mormon onesUp where we were at, they used Mormon Crickets. They are huge. Never seen crickets 3-4 inches big. There's a place about 45 miles from where we were at that you catch them (I'm serious) We were given3 baggies of them and boy, did they workhe fish loved themI should of taken a picture of the crickets. Unbelieveable

Best truck I ever owned. More headroom and legroom than any other crew cab. My only complaints back in 2000 were they did'nt offer heated mirrors or seats. I called Fords Q/A to complain and they asked me "Why would anyone want heated mirrors?" When I checked the newer models they were offering both now. Great truck auto tranny could be better. The Chevy Duramx with the six speed Alison looks pretty sweet but lacks the interior room.

I have a number of friends who haul car trailers with pickups and they work those trucks hard. In the past 3 years three out of five bought Dodges. All three had problems (calipers locking up, burn out rear, toasted tranny) ended up trading in and buying Fords. The two that bought Fords ars still driving Fords.

I understand exactly what you are saying about trash talkI also moderate my own replies sometimesSo, I don't just pick on yoursBR>
You have a good weekend tooWhat ever your riding this weekendo it safely and hopefully no SCBA will be needed. Chat later. MD

Finally went riding last night in the dez. It felt nice 'cause it's been so long. Too darn hot out there this time of year.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Yeah I was kinda busy today and rolled in at 9:00am to boot. I had to get the oil changed in the truck...plus I rolled out of bed at like 8:00am. DOH! The Boss is over in Nipomo (just south of Pismo). Doin the golfing thing with the general contractor from the project rescue talked about. As aside to the SCBA comment, one of our guys put a shovel 1/2 way through gas line. No explosions luckily. Shut down a main street and the auto dept. of the Wal-Mart across the street. LOL. The guy who did it picked up a shovel and was walking by the PG&E (gas company up there) guy there who threatened great bodily harm if he got anywhere near that trench with the shovel. LOL.

No hot dates for me. I'd rather spend money riding. Yeah, I'm a cheap bast*rd. Maybe that's why I'm not married.

Ed. Took out paragraph cause I though Hoss said he knew some REBELIOUS girls. It was just religious. It hasn't been that long of a day. Any of them Naughty Little Mormon Girls (but of legal age)?

my dad just put a Super Chips performance chip into his 2002 Ford F-350 Crew Cab w/ the 7.3 diesel. We haven't programmed it for the high performance yet. But we have it programmed at tow/haul. I noticed a big difference in the shift pattern and a much more responsive powerband. I highly reccomend it. I would've rather seen my dad get the Banks kit. But this will sufice. This is normally around a 300.00 -400.00 dollar chip. My dad got it from my cousin who took it out of his 1 ton van and my dad bought it for 100.00. What a deal.

Creator, I'd love to ride the desertI envision wide open spaces, few scrubs here and there. But, I guess I have to much Pismo on the brain. It's really proably, trails, wash outs, rattlers and heatBR>
Skinner, Nothing in the papers about that gas leak. I'm sure it will be in the hometown paper next week though. I saw all the stores they are putting in there. Not to bad.
I don't know if your cheapor smarter then usby not being married. It does have some drawbacksYou still riding tomorrow? Should be hotBR>
Pyscho, Welcome to the thread. Mr. Tommy aka: Pa Cartwright just did the same upgrade to his PSD. He likes the differenceI have the Banks system and love it. Only thing I'm missing is the A frame guages. Right now, the edge looks pretty sweet too

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Yeah it's 13 shops connected to the main store. 11 on one side and 2 on the other side. Then there are 2 pads out front right at the corner. Pad B is going to be Starbuck's & Panda Express. Nothing yet on the middle suite. Starbucks will be at the corner. Panda Express will be on the opposite end. We actually have the exact same setup at a spot here in Clovis. I'm gonna laugh if the middle quite turns into a Quizno's. LOL.

The other Pad A which is right next to the main entrance off the street on the north is going to be a bank. Tri-County or County Bank. Can't remember now.

I had a girl living with me...6 weeks was all that lasted. Not sure I'd want to do that for the rest of my life. LOL. j/k. Just need to find me one who isn't a flippin headcase. I should have known it was doomed when the first time she got on a quad she went off the side of the road at like 10 miles an hour. Then I had to explain how it's bad to ride a quad through the water at Pismo. Maybe there was a reason they took her license away.... Oh, and they gotta have a DL. No ifs, ands or buts about it. And they gotta ride or don't complain when I do.

Posted by: rescuediver

Sounds like it's going to be the same then. Quizno's in in the paper as signing a lease and the bank is County Bank.

Your not asking for much out of a girl are youDang, she couldn't even sit on the quad at 10 mphBut, I bet if we talked to her, she would tell us, you pushed her off the quadBR>
And the best line said today "Just need to find me one who isn't a flippin headcase" I think we all wanted thatSome got it and some didn't

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Push her off? I wasn't even around. I was off with the boys. LOL. We were up at Miami Trails (Little Joe's backyard) and she couldn't even keep it on a easy fire road. Oh well.

Hmmm, not sure there's enough room in that quite for Quizno's, but who knows. We'll be getting into that this coming week. They wanted the plans on Monday. Arch. asked me if we were working the weekend, I actually laughed. He didn't find that too funny. "Glad you aren't one of my consultants." LOL Yup. That's why we work for owners. I REALLY hate dealing with Architects. They don't even know what they want.

Ed. And I tweaked my .sig. Since I don't actually OWN a PSD. One of these days...one of these days. Sooner if I win the Lottery tomorrow night. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> $95M!

DANG this thread is long!!!I posted a thread about getting a 2000 F-250 but it looks like everyone is on this thread.BR>It's a 4x4 off road. Does anyone know what the off road package included? I can't find that option package listed anywhere to find out. On the F-150 I think it included skids, different shocks and limited slip rear end.

Black&Red-
Sorry to tell ya but I'm going to be the big winner of the lottoBR>

LOLI'm sure she will agree with youBR>
I don't know where Quizno's is going in the skeem of things, but they are going in there according to the paper. And We know, papers are never wrongBR>
Well, You and Creator will have to fight over the lottery. I don't play it. Never agreed with it and I like my money too muchMy family plays it religiously, They do tell me, that if, I did play, I'd probably be the lucky winnerHhhhmmmm,, nah, don't like the oddsBR>
sixsixT, Welcome to the thread. Yea, we have been all over the placeut, we end up talking about the PSDhe only thing I think the off-road package doesn't have, is the skid plates. I don't have them on minebut, I sit high and rarely go where I need them. But, someday when I make money like skinner and Hoss, (that's BlackandRed and Whitewater. We've been here so long, we all have nicknames for each other I'll put some on my truck

Posted by: rescuediver

Oh Yea, And stupid meimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">Family doesn't come back until tomorrowimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Luckily, I didn't drive all the way to the airport to get them, otherwise, I'd of been pi$$ed

Any of you guys have the CPS go out yet? Ours hasnt, but from everything ive heard its pretty common.. Just hope it doesnt happen any time soon.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Make money like me? LMAO. You're kidding right? (Knows the boss don't hang out here so I'm ok.) It's the perks that make the pay bareable. Truck, company cabin....

WThell is a CPS? I don't think you have onboard Child Protection Services. LOL

Posted by: sixsixT

I think CPS would be Crank Position Sensor.

Yup.. Or the Cam Position Sensor.. Ive heard it both ways..

Awwwww. I see now. These are a problem on some of the Daewoos. Actually waiting to see if mine is one of the ones recalled. Have to sacrafice a day of work to take the car all the way to Visalia from Clovis (45 miles or so.

And I finally got the A/C to work correctly. Had some solder joints go bad that pinned to PCBs together. Oh, and let me tell you, love the tranny in that thing. Throw it in "1" and it will upshift for you at 5500-6000 RPM. Kinda like the way Porsche's Tiptronic won't let you overrev the motor in manual mode. She wants to run when you do that. And the 2-1 downshift engine breaking is even better than a PSD. I was up above the speed limit before I knew it and I wasn't all the way into the gas.

Posted by: rescuediver

Lj, haven't had a problem with it so farIf I do, I hope it's in the next 28,000 miles, because after that the warranty is upand it's sure doesn't sound cheap to fixBR>
Skinner, you make the Daewoo sound like a cheaper version of a Porcheaybe next time I want a sportier car, I'll save some $$$ and buy a DaewooBR>

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Actually the newer version of my car is the Suzuki Forenza. GM (and some other asian carmakers) bought out Daewoo. GM then gave the shaft to Daewoo America who ended up going bankrupt. Daewoo in Korea going under was a WorldCom/Tyco type of thing. They are actually very nice cars. I'm sure GM will screw them up nicely. LOL. It's no PSD but for what I paid for it I'm pretty happy. Get many compliments.

It's not exactly a Porsche. More of a Honduh Civic. Running it in the "1" position causes it to drop from 5500 to about 4000-4500 RPM on each shift...right into the sweet spot.

Posted by: rescuediver

I'll probably never get a sports car or a car that's a wanna-be sports car. Pretty much always had a truck or suv. When my oldest daughter starts driving next year. She'll get the wife's mountaineer and the wife will get whatever her heart desiresI'd like to get a LexusBR>
When I was growing up, late teens, I always wanted a 1968 CameroAlways liked them, but, never got onenow, I like looking at the older muscle cars. But, would rather work on my truck or quadsBR>
Did you go riding yesterday? If, so, was it hot like the valleyDo you plan on going to Pismo in Oct. when they have the races? I'm thinking about going for the day. Will have to see how things play out.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I wouldn't call my car a sports car. It's like a Civic 4 dr. It's not the smallest of the compacts (sub-compact, that's the Lanos position.) But it's good for me. I get roughly 20/30 on the mileage. Gets better mileage going to Pismo if I can keep it up around 60 going through the turns...just no bottom end on that engine. That 2L 4-banger is one that likes to rev.

No riding this weekend. Next weekend is really iffy as well. One buddy wants me to go to Pismo. And my cousin just invited me to go up to Wishon...whever that's at. Somewhere up in the forest. If I go there it'll be a pure camping thing. Nobody else has any toys. We'll see. Might be nice to go camping and not worry about the quad.

Posted by: Trasher

don't just hate it when you go camping without your wheeler and all you see are great trails all around you.
That drives me crazy!

Posted by: rescuediver

Skinner, I wouldn't call your car a sports car eitherJust sounds kinda coolhe way your describing the shifting and comparing it to a Porsche at the same timeI guess, with my Truck and an SUV, I've forgotten what a sports car feels likeBR>
Yea, like Creator said, it would suck to go all the way up to a place for camping and then see trails that you could ride. But if, your the only one with a ride, it would kind of $uck to be by yourself, especially in unfamiliar land and no one around in case you need helpI thought about taking my quad to the Snake River when I went. Glad I didn't though, really no place to ride where we were atAnd mine would of been, the only quad thereBR>
Skinner, I noticed they put a light up where your equipment is stored. I don't remember a light before, or maybe it hadn't been working. Anyhow, at about 8 tonight, everything looked fine as I drove byD

Good Morning Vietnam!!! Um...I mean...FBK

What a great weekend!!!! I went riding 3X and found a gnarly, rocky, steep, bad a$$ trail (3-hours of pure Nirvana). It's been a great riding week...I've been out 5X and plan on going out again tonight. However, it's time to get an additional ATV. I'm thinking the sportsman 700 v-twin EFI is going to be my next purchase.BR>
Oh yeah, and I hauled my 4-wheelers with my Ford Crew Cab w/7.3 liter Diesel. ...which by the way, is an awesome truck.

Hey Skinner...did ya get lucky over the weekend?

Huh? I don't get it? Camping and no 4-wheeler? That's what I call insanity.
