Dude, if you want to get married you WILL need all the patience you can musterBR>

just4kicks, Pioneer town is the old ghost town, or it was a set made in the 50's for western movies ?? It's pretty cool, and nothing around, except I have a vague recollection of a store around there where we got a few wobbly-pops.

Mr. Tommy, Nevada is great, and it rarely rains.... but you gotta get out more and come and explore the Great White North!!we got desert, rainforest, MOUNTAINS... the huge ones. Mud.. But we are full of pinko "save the guay whales for jesus" groups that never stop whining about everything, so you got us there. And hunting, doesn't get any better than here. a moose... great eatin, better than beef.

You guys should check my set-up out at www.quads.ca. Under the forum "trip and events", there's a topic, "canucklehead's atv moving skills". I've posted a couple of pics of our F350 crewcab dually, with a snowmobile deck converted to haul 4 quads, and a 30' travel trailer behind. Just seems easier than hauling 2 trailers, or using those trailers where you park the quad in the kitchen.

Here's an old FBK post that I pulled from the basement and dusted off. More old goodies to come...

Right now I like having nice real ones in the land of fake...but as time wears on Im sure Ill be looking into getting some plastic surgery

Well, were not exactly finished, just finished enough to be able to ride it BR>
I think once I get some pipes, new plastics and some billet parts, I will be broke for awhile, so...then I will be finished....lol

Ok, now your talking about adding plasticand that sure is exspensiveHow much time do you spend on polishing your stuff after you ride in the sand? I guess with 6 quads in our family, I spend to much time to where I don't want shiny billet parts on ourshr>

Well, I never used to wash the bike...my dad or DaBeech always took care of that for me. LOL...but now since the new motor work that has changed, Im so picky, I want it to be perfectly clean and shiney and pretty, so Im told I better wash it myself. But when the chrome and polished stuff comes Im sure Ill have to spend more time keeping it clean. But, oddly I look forward to that

Ive come to the conclusion that nothing for my bike is going to be cheap

Over on CATVW. Someone started talking smack. If he could only get the story straight on his trailer. Back through the archives he put in 130 gallons of water, 30 gals of gas andfull propane and it was only 600 pounds heavier than the UVW posted by Eclipse. Everyone else says that off the floor the Attitude 23AK weighs 2K over the UVW. So the Weight Nazi in me went ballistic last night. But I was civil.

They said because I don't own a truck or trailer to not believe anything I say about towing and weights. Then readily admitted being overweight. He's the same numbskull who comes down Donner Pass doing 90 pulling a trailer. Hopefully a CHP officer catches him and just goes to town with The Book (CA VC).

I'm gonna get off my soap box before I blow a fuse over here.

Ok, now I'm really tweaked. Someone deleted that thread but I responded off the email reply. So it's resurected. BR>
They are the owner of the Avalanche & Eclipse Attitude.

They posted a hitch weight of 160 lbs on a 7800 lb trailer. That'll fly. I assumed a typo and figured maybe 1600. At that weight that's like 20%...of a loaded tag trailer. That's 5er territory there. The numbers are NOT adding up. I asked them to post the Safety Certificate and the tag on the cabinet door. They posted the safety cert, but not the inside sticker. I'm sorry, but I don't see an 11,000 GVWR TH weighing 5300 with water and gas. The water weight alone is 800-1000 lbs depending on what size tank it has. The poster said 130 in another post, but Eclipse says it's 106. There's no way that trailer only weighs 4000lbs!

If I'm right on something I see a 12500(d) violation too.

Go for it man! With all the development going on it's a good career move. Salary over 120K I think. Beats the beat pay I think. Figure about 10 years, I think to get your PE. But you already did college right? So you would probably be able to get through in 2 or 3 years if they count the stuff you already did. But I don't know. I'll have to ask the boss how long you have to be an EIT before you can test for the PE. His son is going for Structural. Grad. Cal Poly. Then you get your EIT (Engineer in Training). They have to work under a Structural, get their Civil PE, then go for their Structural PE. At least that's my understanding.

That's not even close to being 10-15% of the trailer weight. Not a sufficient amount of weight on the hitch. Must 've been a typo like you said. If they make a 5300/4000 lb trailer with water and gasThey wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand. The 1/2 ton owners would eat that trailer upBR>

There's no advertising in the posts at all. The same discussions go on here and at rv.net. It's never a problem here and I know that dbeck & crew really clamp down on the advertising, let alone someone offering up a bike for sale. And that's been on there for a LONG time. I can see deleting a particular post, but the entire THREAD is gone.

Posted by: Whitewater

Don't cry Skinner, it's only a thread in the land of make believe. If you click your heels together 3 times, maybe it will come back.

hey SF, what RU doing posting so late, & on a weekend!! I'm telling the MRS!!

Posted by: QuadKaryn

Patrick... I can tell you that Suzy or I didn't delete the posts... I had no issues with the thread at all.... I can tell you there are only 5 other moderators, 3 of whom are innactive on the site, then there's Miki and Johnnycat himself.... maybe he deleted the whole thread himself??? Post on.... you had some good information and a good debate going!! I think the post was deleted last night... several of us from the site were all at Ryan's benefit dinner.. eating and drinking... did I mention drinking?? They were definitely pouring them good last night!! You'll have to ask Suzy about the pics on her digital camera..img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> ahahahahahaha!!! Oh, and then was some guys camera phoneimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">.. oh wait.. TMI!!!

Someone turn off the sun today!!!!

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I didn't think you or Suzie were the ones deleting the posts as you've both been very receptive when I've spoken about the subject. Besides the thread two of my posting which restarted the thread and two posts asking about the thread (which was mentioned by the person questioning WTF happened) were deleted. The nice thing about getting the messages sent via email is that I get them, and I have them, so I KNOW I posted them.

Yeah I"ve read those posts by you and Suzie. So you got real friendly with Jack again last night? Pictures ehh? Hmmmm. This could be REALLY interesting.

Posted by: QuadKaryn

Ha... if you've still got em.. repost em... I have no problem with thatBR>

LJ, you know anything about taking the driver's door panel off? Might have to do that to fix my window problem. I'm going to try cleaning the window track like Confused mentioned. But, if I need to get a new window motor, I'll need to remove that panel

Hhmm, do you know how to remove the door panel? I take it that just spraying the felt rails/guide won't cut it alonehr>

you'd need to remove the door panel. there is a special tool that looks like it has a wide prong to it, and it's almost like pliers. should be less than $10 at your fave discount tool store. it's for removing door panel plugs. both parts are kinda flat and slide under door panel. you squeeze pliers and one part remains stationary while the fork pushes away from the panel and it pops out those plastic door panel plugs. go around the whole door panel until you have all the plugs. then you'll see where track is that pushes window up. i use that white lithium grease spray inside anything that looks like a moving part. go up and down a few times and lube it in various positions (go ahead hoss, jump all over that one, cuz yer prolly gettin a woody just reading it).

leave the panel off for a few days in case you need a motor or possibly a switch. the greasing is needed anyways, so you won't have wasted time. also, with panel off, motor should be easy to replace and readily accessable. one thing tho, ask dealer about whether window should be up or down for motor replacement, and if there's a temporary set screw you're supposed to put in to prevent window tensioner from flying apart and ripping your hand off.

You gonna start a fire under the tank first? Sheesh. It's diesel man. You got a compressor and tools...use the air tools. Or get a tank of CO2. Drain the tank, open up the CO2 into the tank...it should push the vapors out.

Posted by: rescuediver

Thanks Confused. Guess I'll put that on my list of things to doThat darn list keeps getting longer and longerNow, I'm not even rolling the window downAfraid it won't roll back up.

And on the winder, we had the passenger window in our '79 LTD stop working. You could hear it working but the window just stayed put shimmying in the track. Ended up having to put one hand on each side of the glass and pull or push it up and down. LOL. That car was such a POS, but hey, it was abused and stayed together.

First, i got to work and noticed the jeep smoking and smelling REALLY bad. Got under it and the whole under side on the right is soaked in oil. It looks like the tards who changed the filter last beat on it with a hammer. SO i added a quart and drove home. lol

When i got home i had a HUGE package waiting for me. Some big exhaust tubing. BR>Still waiting on the intake.

Oh, and last week in pismo i noticed my pinion seal on the rear is leaking. Ill have 4WP put in a new one i guess.

Morons. Sounds like an oil change I had done at the dealer on my Nubira when I had it. They were a Dodge dealer. And so they called me on the Five Star thing. Always had good reviews (not as good as the Ford Dealer the company used...errr...uses...long story). Anyways...long story short they didn't tighten the freakin filter all the way...started leaking and SMOKING. I wasn't the only one that happened to.

i've had a bit of a clunk when i put it in gear, but that's it. ford said don't worry about it. but what yer describing does sound like u-joint. also, we replaced the yoke, which is sorta like a u-joint, but not quite a u-joint. it was iether that or a speedy-sleeve, which was a ridiculously stupid amount of $$ compared to replacing the whole part.

Go under your truck and you will see a bearing that the drive line goes thru before it angles down to the rear end. at least with the 96 crewcab it was there. and when you start of it goes clunk. if its that carrier bearing the driveline will jump right there if you wiggle it or lay on the ground beside the truck and have someone start off. you should be able to see it move. if thats the case replace and clunks no more. Bad U-joints generally clunk more than just when you start.

Its actually quite suprising how warm the water is.. In the evnings the water is warmer than the air.

Homes expensive? Ohh yeah. thats where the most expensive homes with no land in washington are. around Lake washington and lake samamish.

Been busy all day. Guess I actually earned my pay today. LOL

Got a mini-lesson in Ammonia Refrigeration Systems from the boss. He looked at a job and could never figure out where a float switch was that shuts everything down if too much liquid ammonia is in the system. Liquid -> Compressor w/500HP motor... Can we say BOOOOM!

So I do that and I'm sitting reading anc catching up in The Zone. Boss comes in and tells me some time this week I need to go to Kettleman and pick up a Ditch Witch. It was overheating and shutting down on the guys over there. Service looked at it and said it's terminal on the motor. It's sucking in dirt somewhere. Hey, that's topical...its' got a diesel in it and I went and picked it up with a Ford. LOL. Tell you what, put a 4000lb trencher on a trailer and an F-450 doesn't ride too bad. Oh yeah, it's working on #3 tranny. We had to replace the tranny again. Those 4R100s only last about 60K miles in the bigger F-series trucks. BR>
I guess I don't get to see the pics. No icon. hmm. Some pervs start making comments again?
