Back from Pismo. Had a blast.

I was wondering what happened to LJ...but not enough to care to call. BR>
Yeah, you gotta watch the water. Creek was good. I do think we need to bow our heads Lady and Gentleman. I believe it was a 96 or 97 PSD in a 2WD F-350 SRW CC LB pulling a big 5er toy box....30'+. Dropped into a 4' hole. Water over the hood...and into the motor. Hydrolocked. Someone pulled him out backwards. And our favorite trailer pulling, couch moving Karyn pulled him dead weight from the creek to south of Sand Highway where we were camped...with only a 6.0 GMC gasser. I think a new truck is in the future.

I do have to say the F-150 did pretty good on the sand aired down to 12/10 f/r. Little squishy though. I think I'm gonna try 15 next time. Just a bit too soft. However, I was only pulling the grade at about 58. Might have been able to pull it faster, but I don't have a tach or tranny temp gauge. That's the only problem with 3.55 gears.

And there was NOBODY on the beach this weekend. Haven't seen so few people there...EVER.

Posted by: powerstroke01

I did a lil more wheelin today. Went up 222 and hit 6S13 to 6S11 and on up from there.

Anyways found a pretty sweet rock crawlin trail that my jeep could only DREAM of going up. I had seen some crawlers on trailers comming down. I think itd even be a challenge on quads BR>
Prolly gonna go back later in the week on the quads and do some more trail ridin.

yeah. so that was my day.

I have wanted to do that to my old ford some day. For now I have a scuba tank I use to fill after pismo. I can fill my 4 tires on the truck from 12 psi to 50 and my sons mazda from 6 psi to 36 twice on one filling.

I always tell the wife when I am spending money. She doesnt always agree but I still spend it.

I have heard that one before.

That is pretty impressive. What is a preditor? Sounds like a carb.

Posted by: TPR

Ok Ford Guys, I got one for ya, any possible solutions to this would be helpful:

I sold my bro-in-law my 2002 F250 Diesel, complete with the Superchips programmer....that truck has been in the shop twice to replace an oil line feeding the turbo, and it is leaking again...Problem? Either the programmer is lost, hopefully misplaced or stolen, and he has the Tow Safe program still in there! Now, if he takes it in, the warranty is voided, they get charged for the repair, and the reprogramming.

Again, any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks,
TPR

It's a programmer for a diesel pickup. Allows you to change the fuel timing and other stuff to very the horsepower. I believe that one allows for multiple levels. Some can add well over 100HP. With multiple levels you can have a level extra oomph for towing (like what TPR is calling "Tow Safe" in his post) to 100HP+ balls out power. You really don't want to tow with a high HP program. I think your EGTs get way too high that way.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

TPR, how can having the programmer affect the oil line feeding the turbo? Does the programmer somehow cause the oil pressure to be higher causing the line to rupture? Or are they just using garbage parts? Or not doing something right?

Not my specialty for sure. I might try to find some one with the programmer and borrow it for a while to get things back to normal.

Posted by: TPR

The first time it blew, was before the programmer, coated the back of the engine with oil, the second time was with the programmer, run mostly on preferred tow with a few runs on the High Performance setting (And yes, no towing on that one), replaced stock program and it was fixed. Now it has been run on nothing but Tow Safe and it blows again. Since it happened prior to programming as well, there seems to be a weak point in the OEM oil line. I've heard that the programmer can increase crankcase pressure which might blow the line, but like I said, it happed prior to programming as well. I know someone else with a 2000 PS and they have never blown a line with or without the programmer and runs 38's (Now Re-geared) and tows a 34' hauler.

Posted by: Whitewater

Mine blew once, but it was just an O-ring.

Posted by: Trasher

That or any programmer won't do anything to change oil pressure. That's a bunch of doo-doo (trying to clean up the forum

A couple of things ahve happened here. Either heat got to the oil lines and/or the oil rings & connections, The tech did not do a proper repair to the first issue, the pressure relief valve is stuck or letting too much pressure pass through the system, and/or you have a bad oil filter.

Change the oil & filter and then take a oil pressure test to see what the oil pressure is at idle and at higher rpm's. Then you can find out if it's an internal issue or poor repair job.

My two cents................good luck with it

I was told a 90 cubic foot model. I got it from a friend of mine, the bummer is that I need him to get it filled and I cant get a hold of him. You need a scuba license to get one filled. You dont have one, do you?

Creator, the MODS appreciate thatBR>
TPR, I would trust what Creator aka: Trasher speaksI too, can't see how they are related.

I know with my Bank chip, once I remove it, the truck programs itself back to stock figures. Not sure how it works with the programmer type though

As far as warranty coverage, the dealer really needs to prove that the damage was caused by the modifications that were done on the truck. They just can't say no warranty, due to modifications that have been done. Especially, if your problems are "O" ring related. How does one relate to the other???

Thanks for the help guys, I have one more resource to check this weekend, friend of a friend who is a diesel mechanic for Ford. He does aftermarket upgrades to them on the side and knows those trucks inside and out.

The Superchips Programmer makes a copy of the stock tuning and stores it on the unit so you can install the performance tuning. When you want to change back, it takes the stock tuning and re-loads it to the computer.

Did someone say hydro??? LOL!

I got to do some scuba in Jamaica. That was pretty sweet. Only went one day, but hey it was grand. I dunno if I could scuba again. My dam ears are messed up. When I get below water to deep, the pressure feels like its gunna blow my brains out of my ears.

I would say resist as long as possible. I am not sure about the hydro but it has been about 14 mos since it was filled last. Is there some kind of markings on it? I could bring it to carnegie mon.hr>

Yes, bring it Monday. The hydro date will be stamped into the metal around the neck (or close to it) the date of the visual will have a sticker on it towards the bottom.

howdy pahdnuz (that's partners). finally back in action. 1 week in Kamloops and then 1 in Williams Lake, Prince George and McKenzie (they're a good ways north).

i checked a couple of pages back and see our fixated deviant stalker was able to lure miss kitty back. well done Hoss.

but overall, not much posting while i was gone.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">do you guys need me to stir the pot and PO everyone? geez, i've never done that before. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I'll try to post some pics of our Kamloops trip. some awesome hillclimbs there... you might like the terrain there for dirtbiking MWQ. steep, rocky dirt hills. one of the cousins just bought a Yamaha 250 or 350 trials bike, all alum frame, kinda pinkish-purple. very cool, and can he ever climb boulders and hop around on it.

oh yeah, and one guy had a 6 wheel polaris and another guy had a Yamaha Rhino. you wouldn't believe what the crazy mo-fo did with that rhino, and how steep he'd climb.

Hey Confused, shut the hell up and quit yer belly aching…um…I mean…Hi Confusedbuyer. How are you? And no I&39;m not a deviant stalker; I&39;m just a sexy biaatch.BR>
Sounds like you had a good time on vacation. I hope all of you had a great weekend. I spent 4-days in the mountains camping and riding the 700. It snowed on us yesterday, and I just about left the 5th wheel up there (muddy). I took the ATV trailer down first and then went back for the fiver.

I can&39;t believe how much snow we still have. The run-off is awesome (tons of waterfalls, swollen streams, etc.). We took turns drift breaking on ATV&39;s. It was all fun and games until I tipped on a drift, and threw wifey into a stream.

ANNNNNDDD my dad just left last night for washington so that leaves me ALL ALONE!111111111!!! PARTY AT LJs PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BR>

Anybody goin ridin this weekend?

Posted by: Whitewater

Sorry about your Grandma LJ. I&39;ve lost two grandparents in 2 years, and have 2 Grandma&39;s that are not doing so well. One is getting a shunt put in her brain and the other has a leaky heart, and has to go into the hospital tomorrow. Since I&39;ve moved back to BFE, I&39;ve been helping out my paternal Grandparents. It&39;s hard to see them get old.

Nice pics oh great Confused one. I thought alkali flats only existed in my neck of the woods / desert.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

GM all.

Sorry to hear about the loss LJ. Only lost a few family members so far that I've known. Only one that I really knew was my aunt. One granpa died before I was born and the other I only got to meet one time.

Riding this weekend sounds good. Let's do Miami. Maybe stretch the legs if we can up to Signal.

Confused, the 550s are just heavier duty versions of the other Super Duties. GVWR should be over, or around, 20,000. Our 450 is 15,000. Still use the same engine and trannies. They used to have a 7 speed stick, but I think they dropped it. Gotta move up to the 650 & 750 to really change things up. CAT and Cummins engines and Allison trannies. The 450/550 will get you the big rear ends though (4.88, and maybe a 5.something if you get the V-10...but WTF would you get a gas motor in that big of a truck for?)

Posted by: confusedbuyer

condolences on Grandma LJ.

Hoss, do your alkali flats get muddy with rain, and really stink? These ones are mixed with cow patty, so that may help some.

i dunno skinner, if the tranny is the same how can it handle those heavier loads??????just with gearing and rear end? this 550 had a 7.3 diesel, and 6 spd standard.

I haven't noticed a smell, but the larger area's of alkali are always wet and muddy. They are area's that people stay away from...too bad it's all over the place (especially in area's that have been heavily irrigated). I think irrigation seems to bring that crap to the surface. We have several acre's on our farm that we can't use anymore.

The trannies are rated higher than what the 250/350 GVWR/GCWR is.

You must be looking at an early '03 or older if it has a 7.3. I don't think they are available with the 7.3 anymore. But I think they were available longer in the 450/550. I think the 450/550s also have a broader selection of motors, trannies and rear ends as well. Though all are sold as chassis cabs.

450/550 has the same GCWR, but a different GVWR. Like the 250/350SRW. IIRC, they are 26,000 GCWR, in certain trims.

The interiors and exteriors are the same as the other Super Duties. Things don't change until you hit the 650 and 750s. At that point they look like a MDT with the large wheel cut (like 45 degree). Most MDTs can out turn a lot of the 250-550s. Also have 36" frame rail spacings for bodies. Air ride seats, air brakes, etc.

650 is up to 26,000 GVWR/36,000 GCWR (max. on a Class C "standard" license in Califoria. And the 6.0 PSD with the Torque Shift is the bottom end drivetrain there.

750 is up to 33,000 GVWR. Not sure what it's combined is rated at. I think it can be had in single rear axle and tandem rear axles.

Beyond that you'd have to talk to someone who knows these trucks, or a Ford Trucks salesperson. I.e. someone who only sells these trucks. Not the average Joe Blow car salesman. We have a Ford Truck dealer here in town. Thow we've only bought one truck through them, I think.

WW...it's that the crud is in the water and gets deposited on the soil that trashes things. Big problem out here on the west side of Fresno County. The ground might as well be concrete 6' down into the soil. All kinds of nasty crud. Biggest problem is selenium running down off of the coastal range. Ever hear of Kesterson Wildlife Refuge? I think it came close to a Superfund site.

They use CAT D9s to rip the ground up out there. Single spike into the ground and full throttle. Sometimes run them hitched together.

Everyone is switching to drip out there. Better yields. No run off. And some use much less water.

In checking my database, the last year of a 450 with a 7.3 was in 2002. After that it was a 6.0 PSD or a 6.8 gas hog

as for camping, it's great to have yer own private group and area like that, BUT, ya gotta like DUST... thick, and lotsa dust.

It was pretty sweet. Only one month old too. I think it's a nice quad because you could cruise it or haul tail. Lots of fun. If I was going to be purchasing one like that I would get the Yamaha though.

Cool, I thought they would be high revvingot so good for just trail cruisingAtleast my trail cruising, I rode with 2 of my daughters Monday, we averaged 11 mphI'd think it would not be all that great then. Man, I finally come back to this forum and now it&39;s dead. Miss Kitty could at least make another “Cameo” appearance or something.

bah 4 days off. Well, then you'll be ready to ride Saturday.

Truck is off getting a recall done. Some pad is being put in cause they rust, I guess. Not an issue here, but in some places it is (salt on roads in the winter). So I might be taking my old truck home tonight. Probably stinks to all hell because it's been last driven by smokers. blech.

I've been hangin out in the Spin Zone lately. Yeah, yeah, I know. I've gone insane. Been kinda slow here. Work is slow too. Trying to get a hole of people at Cingular. People all must be in friggin meetings or something. Ack.

I'd go with the Z400 or the KFX400 (both are the same, other then the color) From my understanding, the DVX didn't get the upgrades because Artic Cat is getting away from that bike. I also think the plastic looks coolbut, have my doubts about how long the "removable" plastic no longer wants to stay "on" the bike

Back to the topic at handToday, I drove a '05 6.0 PSD 4x4 Lariat to San Joseto have a camper shell put on it. Going there @ 73 mphit was averaging 15.3 mpgimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> on the way back with the camper shell on, it was averaging 19.1 mpg at 73 mphimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> I was shocked to see such a jump in fuel economyThe truck only had 700 miles on it when we started our trip. So, it is still brand spanking new. I really enjoyed the rideit is a lot smoother then the old leaf spring front end.

On a bad note, we were driving down Interstate 205 (Tracy area) at 65 mph. In the lane next to us and just in front was a SBC truck, it lost a couple of items out of the back and we ended up taking a good hit from one of them on the roofimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">Now a brand new truck has a nice dent in the roof. Fortunately the driver stoppedactually, we kind of made him stop. Now, we'll see how SBC management handles the problem.

Actually, it's a work thing. Nothing to do with service. If that were the case it's a no brainer, we have a direct contact at Cingular. Doing some work in Kettleman City. And it's now a T-Mobile tower. One of those two back behind Carl's. The power for the tower goes through where a building is going to be built. Going to start moving dirt in the 16th so something needs to be done...

Anytime I've ever talked to someone from Cingular (in sales, etc.) they sound like they are from Texass. This had nothing to do with our (work) service. See reply above this one.

OUCH. That should be fun. If was down this way probably end up talking to one of my uncles. I think he's on a board or something that deals with screw ups. Should be pretty cut and dry that something came off of one of their trucks and hit the other truck.

hmmmmm, mighty interesting indeed.Coincicdence you say? I say NOT!!
Point 1: WHENEVER Hoss posts about miss kitty, she mysteriously appears.
Point 2: 240+ pages back when the "just4" girls were hot for me, Hoss accused them of being posers; a fat 50 y/o guy in his basement.
point 3: the guy who smells the fart first and starts blaming everyone else, is usually the one who did it.

THEREFORE, logic didctates that one of Hoss' multiple Cybil personalitites is Miss Kitty. Hey Hoss, can you also bring back Ned too?

Fortunately the driver stoppedactually, we kind of made him stop. Now, we'll see how SBC management handles the problem.

OUCH. That should be fun. If was down this way probably end up talking to one of my uncles. I think he's on a board or something that deals with screw ups. Should be pretty cut and dry that something came off of one of their trucks and hit the other truck.

I felt like crap, brand new truck, owner (good friend) sitting in the passenger seat conducting business on the phone, all he sees is me ducking (natural reaction) and BANGull up next to the SBC truck and yell at the driver, take the next exit and notice the damageFortunately, I sped up to get ahead of the SBC truck, so IF there was damage and I needed to catch the truckI would be able too. SBC driver took the same exitbut drove right past usimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0"> Tracked him down and got all his info. Still waiting to here from SBC

hmmmmm, mighty interesting indeed.Coincicdence you say?

However, I think your giving Hoss too much creditI don't think he could pull off a Miss KittyThanks GoodnessNow a NED, He's capable of

Confused, you blew my cover. I confess; I&39;m actually a gorgeous blond that lives in California (some call me Miss Kitty). The whole Whitewater / Hoss thing is just my alter ego. I&39;m actually a KGB agent, and have been trying for years to infiltrate western culture (which I have successfully accomplished). In America, I&39;m worshiped by many, and feared by all. Skinner, you stop playing with those Gallery boys (AKA: Daily Spin Zone). They are nothing but trouble.BR>
Sorry about the truck MD.

Miss Kitty, Great timing.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Spin Zone has all kinds of problems. Not too much playing. The quest is on for 1000 pages though. Getting all kinds of errors and time outs over there. They are much more mellow than they used to be. I think all the trouble makers left.

Mainly it's OFC, MWQ, MD pops in now and again, and a few others. Maybe 10 total people are active over there.

Posted by: Whitewater

I'm getting those errors, too. I think my last post on that thread was on page 250. I think it's time for a trouble maker to stir the pot a little. I kind of miss the arguments from SEMO, GG, Heywood, DQ, etc.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Yeah Hoss I remember them. That's when it was always trashed I think. They don't come around. At least in the last week that I've been around there.

And where's my Mormon Girl at you're supposed to send me? Sheesh. Getting too hot to be mailing girls here now. She'd bake in the brown van.

Well, I'm taking off for lunch. Might stop at DMV if it doesn't look bad over there. Big cluster fsck on some registrations here. DMV got the notices, but not the check... We'll see how much they are gonna shaft the company over this.

Make sure they get the hidden parts during that wax You know what they say about toes, if they toes is clean and purty, they "toe" is clean and purty. Sure OFC wouldn't mind slapping you with his wet noodle a few times!j/k

Actually, this weekend consists of the never ending saga of my master bathroom remodel. I rode last weekend and now it&39;s back to the grind.

And yes, OFC is a ho on and off the court.

Speaking of "ouches" on new trucks... a lady that I worked with had lent her son their new diesel and travel trailer. He's on his way home from the sierra's on Sunday night.... coming into El Dorado Hills when all of a sudden the trailer starts doing the side to side sway motion... and within seconds the trailer flips on its side and takes the truck with it. Luckily, the hitch failed and the truck and trailer broke apart, sending the truck down a ditch, rolling twice and landing back on it's tires... Luckily, he walked away with just a few scrapes and cuts, however the truck and trailer are a total loss... and did I mention the truck didn't even have plates on it yet! Ouch!!!

Hoss, you STILL working on one room? Me, acuse you of being sexy blond????? NOPE! Only acuse you of being the basement dweller in underwear, stalking innocent victims.

LMAO!! now i just put tile down.MD, do you wait 2 days before grouting like they tell ya to?? I always thot ya could do it the next day.

when we first moved in, there was these tiny little mosaic tiles on our floor. my wife washed with bleach and water, and other concoctions about 4 times. Couldn't even touch the smell of urine. i don't think the old guy had hit the bowl in years. hey, he's a widower, i guess he could pee wherever he wanted (and did). guess ya don't have to worry about lift the lid when you can't even hit the porcelain. i suppose he got close enough by being in the right room. Anywho, i removed the old tile...NOPE! removed sub floor, sealed ship-lathe (sp?)under that, new sub-floor and then my buddy installed a new piece of lino crooked for me! but the smell is gone.

We did it the next day in our house. I can't believe your going through all this troublehen your just going to sell the housere you going recoupe your cost???

And that's just plain grossAfter reading that, and going to my brother's house, where 5 boys liveI'm glad I have 4 women in my house

Posted by: confusedbuyer

EVERYTHING has been reno'ed in our house, and this last bathroom is/was hideous. the floor heat i bought 2-3 years ago when i did the hallway.I bought enough to do the bathroom and laundry room too. i never did the laundry room cuz it would have required a seperate thermostat and another breaker in the panel, plus all the work.did tile it tho. i decided to do the bathroom with it cuz it only cost me an extra day.

the tile we got at an auction for less than a buck a tile, 13" tiles. so i've had them around for awhile (3 years ++). I've got enuf T&G 1x6 pine to do 1/3 of the bathroom, floor to ceiling. I just called a guy and can buy the rest of the pine for about $100. I bought a new toilet with lined tank today for $65 (the old one had a big crack in the bowl, and i thot that wouldn't go over big with a home inspector). I bought a used sink and cabinet for $50 that looks great and better yet: was a perfect fit. wife already bought taps and light fixture ages ago. All spent, should be less than $500, for almost complete bathroom job (time is free isn't it??), and only $300 in new money. i left the ugly old shower in. It won't look too bad, but a new one would have been nicer.

always hard to say what you get out when you sell.. heck, my wife is so peeved that her dream home sold, that we may luck out and just stay here for awhile and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Posted by: rescuediver

Our tile floors are so cool in the summersometimes, I lay on it just for that reasonGlad we don't need to worry about heated floors. I wish when we did our bathrooms, I had put some heating wire behind the mirrors to keep them fog freeEspecially in the shower stall. You should easily recoupe those pricesThey do say, when you remodel, your kitchen and bathrooms are the best ones for getting your money backBR>
There will always be another dream home

Posted by: confusedbuyer

you don't need to heat ALL year round?? wow!! that's awesome. ya, i like the cool floor in the hot summer (so do the pets). but during heating season, nothing beats radiant heat. i shut off the floor heat about 2 weeks ago. now i'm gonna hafta turn it back on, just to see if it works in the bathroom.

Posted by: rescuediver

Yea, we have to use heat here tooWe get into the 30's at night. Probably avg into the 40's majority of the nights in winter. Get frost 3-4 times a year. During the day we get into the 50's. Just can't see the big need for heated floors. I think it would be over-kill here.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

I'm with MD....waste on the heated floors here. Unless it was a high end home. When hell freezes over we might get down to 17 at which point the orange farmers and cr@ping their pants and getting the dozers lined up for the spring to rip out the destroyed trees.

Posted by: confusedbuyer

HAHAHAHAHAHA...you guys are WAY colder than the frozen tundra you know as CANADA!!

guys, guys, guys.... i think you haven't experienced heated tile. MD, come heating season, your tile floors must be chilly. have you been in a home with radiant (hot water ) heat under tile? there's nothing nicer than the heat on the floor instead of a forced air furnace. walkin barefoot and having your feet warmed up. heck, i wouldn't need a wife if all my floors were heated!!

I'm sure your wife can't see the need for a winch on quad, ANOTHER new quad, 4" exhaust or chip in truck, etc... But you still have all of it. we don't NEED heated floors either, but it sure is nice to have. my cousin works at an electrical supplier and he tried talkin me into electric baseboard heaters. fuh-geddaboutit! I WANT the floor heated!WAAAAAAHHH!

It's like Hoss' take on beastiality; don't knock it until you've tried it.

Ok guys this is getting stupid. One of the temp guages say 39 and the official one sais 41. The record low in Ahwahnee for this date is 42 Im gonna freeze my @$$ off!

Ahhh, quit yer whinnin. You don't know what severe weather is until you live in San Diegoimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

How would you like to live in 70 degree weather all year round???

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

The weather kinda sounds so boring. Nothing ever gets really hot, or cold. This weather is completely funky here. I mean, it's friggin JUNE! And it was kinda chilly this morning. And 41 degrees is downright COLD! The snow is never gonna melt up in the high country. Then they'll be b!tching there's no water in the rivers and lakes because it's still all snow up in the high country.

My brother was in San Diego for a couple years, give or take, added all up. He was on the Kitty Hawk at North Island. Of all the places he's been, he loved SD the most. Of course in the US he's only been to Orlando ("I didn't leave anything there, so there's no reason to go there.") and Bremerton, WA. He's not an outdoors person, but he only saw the son about 6 days in the 3 months they were in dry dock.

Posted by: Trasher

I was just giving a little chit 'bout the weather. It does change every once in a while.
It would be nice to move somewhere that does have all four seasons, but just not so severe. It's too expensive to live here plus I am sick of the politics and taxes in Cali & SD.

LJ, yeah I heard that and was sitting there going WTF? Mostly clear down here, at the moment. But if it does rain, we're on for Saturday, Miami. Should pretty much be no dust. Hell, I think we're on no matter what. LOL

I don't think it's ever going to warm up. Be interesting. Could be a AWESOME year for summer crops. Unless we get rain late in the season. Then all hell breaks loose. The cherry crop around here was decimated by the rain. 85% went to juice. Watch us end up with rainstorms in August. Worst time of the year. Grapes are down drying for raisins and the cotton is getting ready to be picked.

ya ya, blah, blah. but did ya put heat under the tile? cuz if ya didn't, it doesn't mean shiat! i'm gonna chat with Mrs WW (while yer outta town again), and let her know how wonderful heated tile is. she'll prolly make ya take it up and do it over again. and yer so whipped, you'll do it without any argument!!

i don't have a vehicle one. i have a Lowrance handheld. I'm frustrated cuz i can't figure out how to use it. i wanted to re-trace my path on an atv ride and it (or I) was hopeless. so now it sits in a bag... man, all this technology is just too hard to keep up with. I got a dvd burner on the computer, and I'm yet to make a single CD (let alone dvd)!! I got the digital camera that i just get frustrated with cuz the *#@&* pictures are never in focus. photo printer that's covered in 2" of dust. too much time doing renos and not enough time to learn all this freakin technology.

Hey Isaac, welcome aboard. Now don't take this wrong, but please refrain from typing in all caps. Some see that as if you're yelling, others see it as being lazy and/or rude. Thanx.

Something weird happend last night guys.
We have a large pasture at teh top of our property thats about 5 acres. We have this pasture crossfenced with a 3 wire electric fence. In one side we have our pregnant mare thats due in a month (about).. The other side we have our 2 boys. Now somehow one of our boys made it to the other side of the electric fence last night.
Also this fence isnt being powered right now so its dead. But it would still be REALLY hard to get on the other side.

Anyways heres the things we think may have gotten him over there:

#1. He was abducted by little green horse people and returned to the wrong pasture.

#2. He drank redbull and it gave him wings and he flew over there.

#3. Theres a slight possibility that he opened the gate at the bottom of the pasture and our neighbors put him back in the other side. Im sure they would have called. But they havent and they werent up when we got up. So im thinking it was the green horse people.

What do you guys think?

Ok, i figured it out. Theres a part where there are some really tall weeds. I looked through there and there were 2 clips that hold the wire on to the T posts missing. The idiot must have gottem off of there somehow. So i guess the went through the fence.. lol.

LJ, Congrads on the new quad

You put the thing in 1st gear, give it some gas, let the clutch out slowly and up you go

Thanks! Im loving it. This thing has GOBS of power(compared to the outty)...

I was doing that but i didnt want to give it too much gas and itd stall at the top of the ramp. Then the last time i almost gave it too much and got the front wheels up. lol
Ive gotta get used to the throttle. Its pretty touchy and that was most of my problem... Alot different from riding a CVT quad.

Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior

Hey, I put the Warrior on the Triton first shot. BR>
Takes practice, that's all. The clutch is your friend. Steady throttle, slow speed up the ramp and when the front gets onto the ramp let off the throttle, pull the clutch and ease on the brakes. Or haul @ss up the ramp and grab the brakes. LOL

yeah but youve been riding a manual quad longer than me. lol

Ill get it down. Like you said it just takes practice.

Yikes, one of them clutch operated quads would launch from the angle going onto my deck. it'd make a neat jump tho!
