20cm=8". are you sure they don't look eleven-teen? I mean, we are talkin trailer park girls down at the bowling alley, n'est pas? as for your taste in girls, you may envision the girl in door #3, but i think the reality is what uncle has on the wall in door #2 (LOL). now that's a real cougar!!!

Well after a last minute trip up to Tracy from Fresno for work (the truck pulled it pretty good...just glad I'm not the one footing the gas bill) pulling our hydraulic trailer with 6 reels of like 200' each of 250 MCM (or kcmil in NEC parlance) plus a variety of other stuff.
I got back to help pull that motor out of the boat. Wasn't that hard getting the intermediate section of the outdrive back throught the hole and the whole thing lifted out. We decided the intermediate section needed to come off the motor. Took it off. Just for sh*ts and giggles they turned the crank on the motor....smooth as a whistle. 3 heads then looked at the intermediate section on the outdrive....DOH! The one bearing in it is completely rusted. So the motor is good. WOOHOO. Now they just need to order the new bearing. Then it's off to a machine shop (the Boss' bro-in-law owns a very large machine shop so I suggested taking it over there to have them press the old one out and press the new one in.)
At least that better than having to go through the time and expense of rebuilding the motor. Just where the heck the brass/copper in the oil came from is a mystery.

that reminds me skinner, the Polaris from last week was an '02 700 + an '02 90 Sportsman (for kids), BOTh for $7000 OBO. the other one was asking $5900 but that does seem cheap. maybe it was supposed to be $9500. or it was thrashed. some guy has an '02 Grizz for sale, asking $4000. It's got almost 4000 miles, and 375 hours, and every inch/second looks like it's been really rough. i just don't wanna another big repair project, and all the little unforeseen small stuff kills ya at $50-100 per piece. all my #'s are Canadian.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
I forgot to post about the Polaris. The guy bought it. He couldn't find a scratch on the thing anywhere. The guy who bought it hunts out of the state and got it in oh hell...umm upper midwest. Wisconsin or Wyoming or somewhere. The first dealer it was sent to was in UT though. He still had the Cert. of Origin. I'm going to have to get out and ride with him one of these times. He's a great guy. He's umm...damn near pushing 70, works every day and couldn't probably kick my butt. Hell, I KNOW he could. Ex-Marine (Korea). Been in the elec. field since he was .. umm probably in HS. (His dad started one of the big firms around here). He's got a cabin that's snowed in during the winter and I think he wants to be able to get up there.
It's not a PSD but he drives a '97 F-250 super cab short bed 4x4 460 V-8. So that's kind of on topic. LOL. He just needs to register it and get himself a brain bucket. Of course registering a quad from out of state is a PITA in CA. DMV doesn't have a button they push for out of state OHVs. Maybe since he's got the Cert. of Origin they'll just register it as new, but the thing is, it's not quite 6 mos. old. Will be on the 22nd though. CA had this thing about out of state vehicle less than 6 mos. old for residents.
My friend went to UT and bought a LT250R & Blaster with a trailer. Trailer wasn't a big deal (even considering it wasn't tagged in UT). But the LT and Blaster he spent a ton of time at DMV trying to transfer.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
i always find out those answers before i buy so i don't go beserk in the office. being an ex-marine, if he don't get the answers he wants to hear, he could open fire in the DMV.

Skinner, I just went through the DMV thing with my Z400. Here's what I posted in another thread. It wasn't a bad experiencend I just had friends register their Oregon bought quads in CA. at another DMV office with good friendly results alsoBR>
Update on my experience of registering an out of state (Missouri) atv in California. I went to DMV to register it. I only had to pay the sales tax (7.325 in my area) on the purchase price. Plus $25, for the 2 year registration. It did not get a "Red Sticker" because it didn't meet the criteria. Eighth digit wasn't a "3" or a "C".
Now, all out of state vehicles need to be visually inspected, so, bring it with you to your appointment. Make sure, the engine and VIN number are visible. They want to see all the manufacturers stickers on the vehicle. So, if you buy from out of state, I'd make sure they have them. If they don't, I think it will be more of a hassle to register it.
Bottom Line, I wouldn't rule out buying another out of state quad. Just make sure of the VIN numbers so, it doesn't get red stickered and it has the manufacturers stickers. Lt. Dan
Also, it's not in the above post. But, they do want to know: When it was brought into Ca. If the new owner doesn't know, then, I believe they use date of purchase(date he bought it) I knew mine was brought in about 8 months prior (from talking to previous owner and IT WASN'T RIDDEN IN CA.) That's very important to them. AND THAT HE (your friend) HAS YET TO RIDE IT IN CALIFORNIA!!! They will have him sign an affidavit on this. No big deal. Sounds like your friend knows it was brought in, about 6 months ago.

MD, thanks for the info. I checked the VIN and it was cool as far as Green Sticker goes.
No, he didn't ride it to his house from where he bought it. I'll print that out and give it to him. Could have been the person my friend had to deal with at DMV had never done it before so they were clueless.
Posted by: rescuediver
Skinner, Your welcomeYea, DMV on a whole isn't the best experience you can have dealing with the gov'tFor me though, the experience hasn't been to bad, atleast the last few times, I've dealt with them.
Doesn't look like we will be going to Pismo after ChristmasWife and one kid want to hang around the houseProbably do a couple day trips, though

MD, maybe when they all open their quad-related xmas gifts, their tunes will change and everyone will be itching for some riding time.
Posted by: rescuediver
I'm sure they will be itchingespecially the youngest one with the new rappyThat's why we'll probably do some local riding. We've been invited to go to Buttercup (part of Imperial Sand Dunes), but, that's 450 plus milesand to far for us to drive 2 vehiclesBut, we'll see. Wife found some areas in the Stanislaus Nat'l Forest we might visitabout an hour or so away. I was suprised she went looking for spotsuess, she was serious about taking the Z400 as "HER" bikeimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Sorry to hear your going to miss Pismo...but then again, so will I. We are going to get buried in the office here shortly. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to escape for a couple days to go play in the sand, but I'd only go because I know a group who's going. I'll probably stay close. Maybe I might be able to head up over your way. Have to see how the snow is behaving at that point in time.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
went for a 50 mile ride today, with 9 y/o and some atv club members. we found some fairly deep snow. since i was riding the XR80 dirtbike at that point, it was just too tough. my fat a$$ weighing it down left no suspension. then we switched and i rode the Honda 250ES (i used it today cuz it needed a good long run). i'm trying to figure out if i need to lean out the pilot screw, OR, if i need to lean out the throttle body needle. I've noticed sooty plug. anyways, Jr is riding the XR up a long, steep hill. we find snow and he keeps going until there's just no way; too deep and he's sliding all over. so i get to rescue his mistake by having to ride it back down the hill and man, was it slick, fast and icy on the way down. yikes! easy on the quads tho! got some pics but haven't posted them.

The Bay Area? I'd rather go to an Avon convention. Ick. I hate that place. Friggin rat race. I haven't been up to SF in 2 years last August (trade show at Moscone Center)...and I don't miss that. How people can live there, I don't know. Fresno is nice in size. Not sure I could do a really small town. But as long as they had a good broadband ISP I'd give it a try...and riding nearby. Though with all the Bay Area Refugees we are getting who knows what's going to happen. They are bringing their home prices with them unfortunately.
Posted by: rescuediver
I am with you on the bay area idiots and their way of life. COULDN'T and WOULDN'T do it. I don't know what size your referring to as a small communityMy city is about 38,000 and that's a good size for me. We do have smaller communities, populations can go from 30 people to several hundred. But, then, these are rural places that are about 25-30 miles from our county seat. Places I love to work inBR>
Talking about home prices, my buddy bought his house 9 months ago, told me he's thinking about selling. It has gone up $100,000 in that time spanWhat's sad is, there is some fool that will buy it the first weekend it's on the market. When my kids are old enough to own a house, they won't be able to afford it on their ownWages won't keep up with that type of market. In 20 years or so, we will be just like the bay area. My kids will have to move east to buy a house

Man...late to the show again. There have been so many "LMAO" remarks in the past few days, I don't know where to start (i.e., ten foot poles, stiffy pills, Confusedbuyers' fat A$$ on a little bike, etc.).BR>
Had to get the PSD re-alligned on Saturday...now they think I may have tie-rod problems. Oh, also put in a new throttle cable on the sp500, too.

Didn't they check the tie rod ends out when you had the ball joints checked/replaced??? Those are the first things they check
If you have sloppy tie rod ends, your toe setting will be off and can wear the Toyo's out pretty quickly.

MD, or should i say Barney Fife, your detective skills are deteriorating! As i explained, i was trying to give the 250ES a good run, diagnose my fuel problem, and generally give it a long, fast run. this was more logging road, so we were flying a lot..... trying to de-carb it. and because it was going to be a faster, adult oriented ride, I guess Jr felt more comfy going fast on the XR80 vs. his quad. boy, is he ever doing good with kick start and clutch!! I'm impressed. and that thing FLYS... with my hide, it was going close to 50MPH, full out in 5th gear.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
Hoss: I'm with Creator, you had upper and lower balljoints replaced and they never checked tie rods??? Have Fords always been rotten for ball joints?? they don't last much beyond 50-60,000 miles, on any of their trucks. Mine were done at around 30,000 miles.my old 3/4 ton had em done, and so did my '86 1/2T. are you on a lot of rough roads, washboard/logging road stuff?? plus no grease nipples on them doesn't seem to help (not enough clearance I guess).
well guys, i guess I'm one of the rodents you were just trashing. they often compare SF to Vancouver for large cities, maybe because of some of the similarities: both have a HUGE Chinatowns, both are full of queers that are proud of it (our restaurant dinner specials are often rump-roast, bone-in), both have a large suspension bridge (Golden Gate is more modern and longer than Lions Gate), both are hilly, although we have a better mountain backdrop, and both have a large park in the city (can't recall SF's big park), but Stanley Park here is huge and beautiful, and right in the heart of downtown. Oh the timber you could take outta there!!img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> both are westcoast/on ocean.
point is, with all those similarities, guess that makes me some kinda freak. And i hear ya boys on outlying area property values getting jacked cuz of the big city. we have Kelowna in the Okanagan Valley, and Vancouver Island. 2 nice places to live with mild winters. but all the big city folk sell their properties for buckets of cash, move to these places and drive the values up artificially, cuz there's nothing to sustain the economy except service industry. my wife has been searching since we had a northern trip recently. newer house with 313 acres, asking $399,000 Canadian (deduct 20-25% for US amount). man, the trails you could make on that property!! 8 hours north of here (Prince George).

It's not so much that I don't like people from the Bay Area (it's MUCH larger than SF. SF in fact is a very small part of the entire area.) It's I just don't like all the people (I mean the AMOUNT of people). Fresno is 400K plus, Clovis is about 80K (it was like 30K when I moved here in '83 from...well...Fresno.) The traffic is absolutely insane!
By small town I mean like some little town in UT or something. Though the local "wild life" could make it interesting.

Yea, the bay area now extends from Santa Clara/San Jose on the south, Oakland on the east, S.F. on the west and Marin to the north. It bascially covers all the communities that are near the bay.

Confused, I wish we could even think about property for that kind of money. Around here, dry land in the foot hills goes for $3,500 an acre. In the valley, 3 acres can go for $250K with nothing on it(prime building area). 10 acres of irrigated pasture, anywhere from $300k upwards to $450k. It's crazy.

boy, do i wish you were right about this Honda, but it's been a bit of a fine-tuning challenge so far. we went on a slow, technical ride a couple of weeks ago, and it was stalling like crazy. everything was feather the gas, idle speed and it just kept stalling. so i hope i'm getting the bugs out.
I forgot to mention, in Canada, hand guns are a restricted weapon, and require special permit to own, or to take anywhere such as the firing range. Also, all firearms have to be registered.what a joke, honest people jump thru a zillion stupid regulatory hoops and the very things and people they're trying to protect against (criminals) will ALWAYS have access to illegal weapons, and never give a rodents-rectum about LAWS or regulation. sure am glad my neighbor will have a tough time shooting me, but any punk that wants to can waste me in a blink of an eye! Unlike the Excited States where you guys all pack one in a holster on your hip as ya walk down the road, we're all wusses here and don't have those groovy, fun wild-west shoot-outs like you guys. aaaahh, the right to bear arms is a beautiful thing. oops, as usual I digressed in a Toyo kinda way, from my point (there is one). when we were on our last ride, we came down a hill to an older Jeep Cherokee with a family that looked like they were crazy rebels from Utah. sure as shine-ola, they had the family rifle out and were doing some good 'ol target practice. lots of that up there. 9 y/o collected a buncha 30/30 shell cases again. there was another guy on a dirt bike riding along with rifle out, resting on his shoulder. he musta been from Heber, Utah... cuz he was the craziest.

You know there Confused One- You have more than jetting problems wit that Honda. If the carb is in good shape and clean, it should run pretty good most all the time. Ever check for rust in the tank, gummed up carb, bad filter, etc?? I'm really thinking you have other problems than jetting.
Glad to see that a little of America is rubbing off on ya. Bear those arms so's ya can punk a can or two if you want ( and anybody trying to harm you or your family)

so Toyo the satanic post Ho is gone for 1-2 days and you guys are falling all over yourselves worried sick about him like a bunch of old kntting-grannies, and ready to send out a search party to save his sleazy a$$. yet you drive me away with abuse and "get lost Ned" messages and no one cares where I've gggoone.....bwaaa, bwaaa, waaaaa, waaaaa (hey, i cut deep just like any one else).

It's the end of the semester so Miss Kitty is probably being a good little student; studying, writing papers and taking exams. Finals are probably next week.

Glad to see that a little of America is rubbing off on ya. Bear those arms so's ya can punk a can or two if you want ( and anybody trying to harm you or your family)
So you found one of Hoss' long lost family members out on the trail. What gave it away that he was related to Hoss? Was the cycle painted in Camo?
hr>
easy to spot the relation, he had an ewe riding on the front of his m/c!!
on the jetting, i've never really said jetting is the prob. first, i totally disassembled carb and cleaned it, all the jets, poked wire thru holes, pulled out the needle seat, compressed air, the whole habenero. then, air cleaner and box got cleaning. the pilot screw has been finicky. i thot it was okay at 2 1/2 turns out, but when i checked plug, it was black and sooty BUT, that was a lot of idle speed running. i put it in a 1/2 turn and we took it for a good run this weekend. IF the plug is still sooty, i thot it could be the throttle body needle position.
I thot there were 3 stages to carb. 1st stage is idle speed running = pilot jet and pilot jet screw setting and idle speed screw. 2nd stage = acceleration from main jet. it runs great in the mid range acceleration. 3rd stage is also one of the 2 main jets, for high speed. at flat out, it almost seems like there's a rev limiter and it isn't screaming, but it accelerates well and seems to almost hit a wall at full throttle.
when i let off gas quick, sometimes there's almost a little backfire ("frap-frap" sound) which could be a lean condition. but the sooty plug makes me wonder otherwise. anyways, i want to check plug after this recent run, cuz there was very little idling this time, so it may tell me where I'm at. This quad basically runs excellent, but i want it perfect. i figure it leaves the dealer new, running perfect, so there's no reason it shouldn't be the same for me when i get it tweaked and tuned perfect. that means good, low speed operation and idling aswell.maybe I'm just too fussy. it does run almost perfect. there is no fuel filter, other than what's in the tank on the petcock. I'd hope there's no rust in a newer plastic tank.
what would be really nice is to ride another one and see how it performs so i got something to compare it to.

I'd say you'd be in a world of hurt, if you have rust in a plastic tankI'd put an in-line filter on that thing before too long, that way, you know only virgin fuel gets to the carbBR>
Why don't you go to the place that you bought the quad from, wasn't it a rental place? or, was the quad a rental at a sale? I seem to have short term memory latelynd don't rememberBR>
Posted by: confusedbuyer
you're close MD, it was a "tour" quad. big difference from rental. in the tour deal, they have someone at the front and someone at the rear guiding them like mules. no real chance for the rider to bag on machine. these would be inexperienced first timers, who probably do lots of stupid things like accidental power downshifts, and running in the wrong gear (screaming in too low of a gear, or lugging in too high of a gear).actually, seller said a common problem was they all followed too close and didn't leave adequate stopping distance, so they'd rear-end one another frequently. lots of asian tourists.
with rentals, you pay your $$, take the quad and beat the living pi$$ out of it, then return it and run quick before they realize the credit card you used for the damage deposit was a fake.
anyways, this guy remarkably sold out his quads in one week. hard to believe, cuz they really weren't that great of a deal, and i didn't think there'd be that big of a demand for 250cc/2wd quads. maybe something to do with the Honda name?? the seller is a lunch-bucket. i asked if he had any of the tool kits with the manual gear shifter, or an owner's manual. "nope, all gone, no idea where they are". he just didn't care. how do you "lose" ALL those for 5-10 of the same quads? also, "we were excellent about our service and care of machines". Great, where are the service records? "Oh, we don't have any of that". I think they changed the oil, spark plug and maybe cleaned the air filter, otherwise, nothing. in a way, these probably got more use in 2 years than most would get in 10 years. BUT, they were cheap and pretty much exactly what I was looking for.
plus i've watched what my cousins have done to the old honda 3-wheelers (rolled them 100 feet down super steep hills doing big bouncing endos and rollovers, stitched together with zap straps, burried in mud,etc...) and they just turn the key and they start and run again. they really do take abuse well.

SSSSSHHHHH!!!! she reads these posts and I don't need her figurin things out!! ya, i probably am being too picky, but if it ran a certain way at the factory, it can do it again.
I'll be saying buh-bye to the LT80 on Sunday, when our old neighbor comes to pick it up. He bought it about a month ago for his son. now he wants to buy the 'ol '84 Yamaha 200 for himself.... but i haven't seen any $$$ so far. he's a roofer and with our torrential rains, hasn't been much work the past month.

I like my women a little more...conservatively dressed. Leather just seems like it would be uncomfortable and rather difficult to get them out of. Yeah, it adds a challenge, but sheesh. I like my women in jeans and a t-shirt. Dated a girl, hell, she lived with me, who dressed like a hooker....not my thing.
Hey, I'm a little weird. I like the outwardly sweet innocent types.... The ones that everyone just looks the other way.

I'm not into that whole church thing though. I guess as your sig says, I could fake it, then I'd be in. Hell, had one Mormon girl, well soon to be, ask me one night if I want to f***. She wanted to one last time before being baptised. I was like WTF? 1) I don't know you, 2) if you're all into being Mormon, and you can't after Sunday, how is it ok to do it on Tuesday night?
You know, calling the areas or whatever Wards just makes me think of a mental ward at a hospital. (If you ask one of my friends all Mormon girls are nuts.)
Looks like I'm on the road tomorrow. Go see the Dr. first thing, then it's off to Tracy, CA, then to Ceres, then back to Fresno. Taking a load of material to Tracy, then to Ceres and bring home a Ditch B*tch as the guys call them from there. Then Monday it's back up to Ceres to pick up the other B*tch and take her in for service.

yep, I'm thinking this will get censored... but in the meantime, this gets my vote for one of the funniest things posted here so far! I am ROTFLMFAO x INFINITY!! It's funny, when ya first posted inflatable, I immediately remembered a tv show i saw about these real expensive dolls that had a gel-pack or somethin to make them more realistic. The manufacturer said their biggest market was Alaska. there's like 4-1 male ratio, so even the real fat and ugly ones get courted, not just the screen door treatment.
BTW, I feel for your pal. I think the gag just came pre-lubed due to too many chafing lawsuits, and he forgot to mention that to you ruthless hounds.

okay, so this is a PSD thread, n'est pas? well, I replaced my rear pinion seal today, easy to get the drive shaft off. but the pinion nut...OMG, that sucker was on tight. tried my impact gun.... nope. tried 18" breaker bar with cheater bar on it....nope. hit it with penetrating fluid a few times. Finally, i changed my compressor from 1/4" line to 3/8" line, used a pipe wrench on the knuckle, and then hit it with the impact gun again and it came off. and i had to go buy a 1-7/8" socket for the nut. that stuff only comes in 3/4" drive.
this will be my third seal in 55,000 miles (factory one, 1 replacement, and this one). Ford did the last one. I'm also replacing the yoke in case there's a burr or groove on it (almost the same price as a speedy sleeve). Have any of you guys had problems with your rear diff leaking? I got 4:10 gears and dually; i don't know if that makes any diff at all.

MD, i've had lotsa friends who's parents were cops and the stuff they did was so over the top, rebellious, whatever, and the parents were strict. to punish those parents for what their kids did would have been tragic. the embarassment the cop parent suffers is probably way worse than any punishment imposed by a pu$$y legal system (except that would probably be the one time the courts would punish severely).
I hear you. We had a Judge's son (about 22 yrs old) go on a major vandalism frenzy with friends. All the judges had to remove themselves from the case and it made the media. It was quite embarrasing for himBR>

OK, now that I think I've regained my composure enough to possibly type some kind of coherent response...
Man, that was way too much. And I hope it doesn't get censored. If it already has it must have been something else. It will probably be someone other than MD. MD is probably out arresting drunks driving into power poles in the fog. It's freaking INSANE tonight. I was up in his neck of the woods this afternoon and it was nice. But coming home the fog came in. It was down to about 1/4 mile visibility when I got home from dinner about 8:30. And that's a combined...like 1/8 mile each way. Fog will usually peak right at about 7am or so. Then the sun will make an attempt at burning through it.
I sure wish our truck had a PSD (it was actually the first year the PSD came out, 1994, but was only available with a 5 speed manual)....burned up about 26 gallons of gas in 180+ miles (6.9 MPG). Filled her up and only went through about 1/2 of the front tank on the way back (100+ miles). Unless the gauge is screwed up. The worst thing is filling that truck up. You might be able to pump at about 1 GPM into the tanks. Maybe 2 if you're lucky. The filler pipe always backs up... Sometimes with a heavy load it gets down to about 4-5 MPG BR>
Gag gifts hmm...I actually need to go pick up one. Some batteries for a friend of mine for her boyfriend.
MD, I don't know what her kids look like. And if they have red hair, it's not because of me...not that the idea of "going through the motions" isn't a good one. But if they are anything like their momma, they are gonna break some hearts. Damn she was a cutie in HS. About 5'4 maybe, petitie, cute butt...even had a pic at one time from about 150' away...yeah yeah...I was a perv in HS...wait...I still am... Plus, someone said I didn't have the balls to do it....can't let a dare down...well not like that anyways. Not that I go around taking pictures of 16 y/o girls butts anymore. I didn't see her during the time when the kids would have been conceived...I SWEAR. LOL. Though the last time I saw her she was pregntant with #1...just didn't know it. No wonder she was so happy...I thought she was just happy to see me. LOL.
I'm not much into the whole mail order bride thing. And definately have to take the purchase for a test drive. Wouldn't buy a PSD without a test drive. And that relationship will only be for a few years. A wife is supposed to be for the rest of your life. Granted it will probably change over the years. Something that was once small and sporty will grow old and tired until they go in for a restoration. (Wow...I so think some people will probably flip over that...make sure Gloria Alred sees that....)
You're probably thinking about Real Doll. Like $5K.
Thing is Peterson won't be in General Population. He'll have to be segregated. He wouldn't last 24 hrs. A notorias murderer of soon-to-be-mother and her baby? About the only thing more dispised in prison is a child molester. Given his notoriety, knocking him off would be worth more than a child molester. I'm sure I'll be old and gray by the time they finally off him. Did you hear the twit he was messing with is coming out with a book? (Yes, she's from the area where I live.) Coming out in Jan, like the 5th or something. Got a 7 figure advance.
Maybe I just need to find an unhappily married chick (hmm...I do know one of those...), mess with her (I think she'd be up with that), and see if she offs her husband (she probably wouldn't do that...she just thinks he's a f'in idiot) then *I* can write a book. I'll finally be sporting the PSD and toy box with a nice rail in it. BR>

well Toyo, it was a spirited battle but in the end, good triumphed over evil. WTF?? I'm talking about the hockey game tonight!! Vancouver beat Everett. I was really surprised by how many Americans come up here to watch the game. i guess it's just a cheap excuse to go visit our world famous massage parlours after the game, and smoke some BC bud while they're here. very hard-hitting, entertaining game. no fights.

you're closing is very Forrest Gump!
Hmmm, sounds to me like there was an issue of stalking combined with a restraining order demanding you keep at least 150' away. Reading further between the lines, when the order was violated, you were in the crowbar hotel when the kids were conceived. And then there's the admission of " i don't take pics of 16 y/o girls butts ANYMORE"...., again, i'm sure a by-product of restraining orders & imprisonment!! I know I'm really close with this one. (relax, j/k!!)

And something for my cousin and her hubby. Her boys I just need to get some gift cards for.
I'm itching to ride though. Hopefully I can find LJ somewhere. He's got a job playing with a CNC machine or welding or something or other.

My mom is an IVAN. Doesn't matter what, it was always someone else's problem. She'd blame a creditor for her not paying. When 'old Monkey Wards was still in business she wouldn't pay for a VCR she bought, because they put some kind of life insurance plan thing on the card. Umm...you just tell em you don't want whatever that insurance BS is, but you still have pay for what you bought! Student loan...kinda the same thing. But they goofed up and added her 1st & 2nd loan together. They did that, then added the 2nd loan AGAIN. (She's not the only person that this same thing happened to!)
She never lets go of anything. My parents got divorced like 11 years ago...she'll still go on about my father. JHC get a life. Let stuff go.
I readily admit all of my screw up and bad decisions (most of the latter have seemed to revolve around women....) They are pure unadultered EVIL! But DAMN they have some fun toys.

well i see Toyo and skinner (blackandredwarrior) completely ignored you, elitist swines that they are!!
hey Roge , welcome to the FBK (Ford Beta Kapa) chat! I see this is your first post, and we're honored you decided to waste it, i mean share it, with us. kinda like handing Toyo (Oneflycowboy) a virgin.... same waste!!!
is yours a reg ext or crewcab? dually?
what's your gross weight with the horse trailer and horses? with my toys (quads), and 30' travel trailer, we weighed in at 18,500lbs, and i found pulling the steep hills, i had to bang it down to 2nd gear. usually i could pull anything by just switching outta O/D, but it's too hard on the tranny, no grunt left. And i'm runnin 60HP performance chip.

Did you ever get the 250 running right? I mean, running to your expectations
Posted by: confusedbuyer
you see the clever avatar Toyo designed for me? that's Todd Bertuzzi, star player for the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. well, front page news all over canada today is that he plea-bargained his assault causing bodily harm down to common assault= no criminal record, no jail time. this all stemmed from a hockey game where he sucker punched a guy that wouldn't fight him, then pile-drove his face into the ice causing 3 fractured vertabrae in his neck, concussion, etc..., may have ended the guys career. the IVAN in this case had delivered a dirty elbow to the head of our star player about 2 weeks earlier and got no penalty. our star missed 4 games with a concussion. so the next game our whole team was gunning for this guy, and it got really ugly. NOW, the IVAN is contemplating a civil case, alleging the injury may have ended his career. he was a fringe player at best, but i guess his Ivy league (Harvard i think) education will come in handy now.
stay tuned for the next episode of "As the Puck Turns", available in Canada only. more entertaining than the National Felons League = NFL!!
Posted by: confusedbuyer
funny you should ask. it's been running pretty well; as good as they can run. I read several other posts and everyone seems to say they're a bit cold blooded, so that's re-assuring. so tonight, i go to take a little sppin on the street with jr. I get a blinking first gear indicator, which gives you an error code to check. It's my "angle sensor". I've seen several other posts about that particular error. Can usually be rectified by cleaning contacts, battery.. etc. Worse case scenario is the actual sensor, about a $30 part. so that gives me a little project over Xmas. hope it's a simple connection issue.

I DUNNO! it senses the angle!! I haven't looked into it enough. I guess i just assumed it had something to do with the electronic shifting.
and hey, hockey is probably the only pro sport where the on-ice conduct has resulted in charges and legal proceedings.Bertuzzi did lose about 1mil in salary, plus cost his team going deep in the playoffs.
Artest got nothing, and the other Pacer came flying in there and just cold-cocked/sucker punched the chubby guy. I'm amazed that guy got up and wasn't a mess.
that raptor is a great little quad. we just went for a ride on the Breeze and had to ride about 1/4 mile in a fairly deep, fast moving creek. That thing was awesome. I've had great luck with the yamaha products.
Posted by: rescuediver
The angle sensor shuts the engine down, when it senses your about to go azz over end into a world of hurtBR>
I must of missed what Artest got from the arbitrator. Because he was going to miss the whole season, included about 5.5 mil. Did that change?
I hope, I have as good of luck with the mini rappy as you have

Some times i wonder if you boys got anything swingin between your legs ITS HOCKY!!! you know they have Disney on Ice, Why not Boxing on ice.. Fighting in hockey should go under no criminal charges. Its part of the freakin game. Its like milk and cookies. you cant have one with out the other. i mean come one. Thats like chargin a pornstar with rape for bangin some ho in the middle of a shoot. she was onsite for work to get a big P****S stuck in he bottom and she has nbo grounds to prosecute. GRRRR

so go to a hocky game as a player bring an ak 47 and win???? at what point do you stop? if you want to fight make it fair. no sucker punch and then ride the guy to the ice come on .

hahahahahaha!! LMAO. another red-welter dude!! anything i say will only be lower and grosser than what you already said. well, Moore is ramping up his lawsuit against Bertuzzi. the one thing about hockey is that it's the only sport where you play with a weapon, so if you use the weapon (stick) in the commisssion of the crime, you might have a case for assault. BUT, plain old fists has always been part of the game. and what's wrong with that? keeps a lot of guys from taking liberties they shouldn't when they know the consequence is being pummelled a few times.
some of the fans go WAY over the edge. heckling is acceptable, and i think players have no prob blocking that out, BUT, throwing items or challenging players, YOU derserve an a$$-whoopin. Tie Domi was in the penalty box and a fan in Philly jumped in. Domi is an extremely tough guy, he just basically held the guy at bay, but he could have laid a beating on the fat drunk slob he'd have never forgotten, and should have been allowed to without reprecussion.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
When i played hockey we fought all the time... Did our time in the box came back out and fought some more. Checking is merely a precurser to to a fight. so when should it start. Is hocky a no contact or full contact. I dont care if they wanna break their stick over the otherdudes head. thats what they wear helmets for and all them pads. Brawl on my hocky bretheren brawl on.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Hocky is the only sport you play with a weapon on your feet and in your hands. you seen what a Good sharp hocky skate will doo to someones face? Its messey we shall just say that
Posted by: mstrquad
if the drunk fat slob get in the game and throw the 1st punch ok beet the sh** out of him. but to go in the stands no that like the guy at 7-11 yelling at the customers if i pay to go to the game and heckel and so guy in pads and i shape come out and kick my a$$ in going to own him or make him a bum.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
words are one thing. but if you so much as touch or throw popcorn at him he should have liscense to beat your ass.
Posted by: mstrquad
no popcorn what ???? i wood not wast it. it wood seam that some players have to big of heads and cant handle the life and the $.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
I feel that ANY professional sports player who assaults a fan should be banned for life. Gone. Bye bye. Where I work, you fight, you're gone. Shouldn't be any different. And they should be arrested and charged as appropriate.
Fighting with another player...hmmm. Hard to say. I know in hockey it seems to be an intergral part of the game. Around here, people go to the Fresno Falcons (San Jose Single-A team, IIRC) to see the fights...cause the teams blows. I go to watch the game. If I wanted to see fighting, I'd go watch a boxing match.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
That goes with any proffesional sport. But fans as well need to entertain a level of respect as well when trash talkin.
Posted by: confusedbuyer
ya, the skates can make a mess. you're too much of a young pup to remember Borje Salming, a swedish defenceman who played for Toronto. He got the nastiest skate gash across his face, and it looked like the eviliest villian scar hollywood style. the thing about skates is , those are ALWAYS accidental, nobody throws Van Clam kung-fu kicks with their skates on. the stick can be very lethal, and usually intentional.
I couldn't believe how O'Neal on the Pacers came charging at that short, fat guy (after he'd been decked by Artest) and just sucker-punched him with everything he had. And the guy got up!!! He should layed on the ground in agony like the camera man that Rodman gave a little kick to a few years back, then sued him for 200K!! whadda wuss and what a joke.
okay, time to go back to PSD stories.so the other day our paper had a story about an immigrant couple that was stopped waiting for a suv blocking their parkade exit. there were several cars waiting for one ignorant jerk who wasn't moving. so the immigrants honk at him and the wife gets out to tell them to move-it. 2 east-indians jump out and one drops the woman. the guy gets out of his car, and they jump on his head and make a mess of him. tell ya what, if i'm in my PSD and honk at one of them and they jump out to beat me, i now have a perfect "feared for my life defence" when I ram 'em with the PSD and drive over them 3-4 times. rotten POS.

walmart's prices should still be the same huh? is that why it's so busy, cuz everyone else is busy gouging? it's a real shame that Canadian and US made products are being flushed down the world toilet by the likes of the Great China-Wal-marts of the world. It's all about exploiting the cheapest labor you can get, in a country with ZERO enviromental standards. the only way to compete now is to open a factory in somewhere poorer than China, like most of Africa, get even cheaper labor, and be able to dump any of your by-product wherever it falls. Kyoto Accord! what a joke, it applies to a bunch of countries who have nowhere near as bad pollution problems as China, and other exploiting manufacturers, yet the bad countries still use coal in their manufacturing. better make sure your kids get a great education, cuz the next generation of un-skilled labor is doomed in our 2 countries.
oops, sorry, a bit gloomy. merry xmas!

i agree with ya skinner, on the b-ball players attacking the fans.
what does wally's charge to re &re tires? i'm lucky, i got an old manual changer. but the 8" rims from the kids stuff is real tough to change. and breaking the bead on these is plain mean. sure ya want the Klaws? i got em and can't honestly say I've noticed any difference over stock tires. I'm gonna try mudlites next time, at least they're light and everyone seems pretty happy with em. rockymountainatv.com is sure tough to beat on the bearclaw pricing too, if ya decide to go that way.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
I've been told by a few people that they charge like only about $5/tire. A local shop wants like $10 or so per tire.
Posted by: rescuediver
I agree with you on players going into the stands or idiotodic, drunk fans going onto the court/playing field. Also agree with skinner on his assessment of getting rid of the guy and is contract. But, there is always an owner form another team, that will pick the scrote upJust look at Spreewell, chokes his coach, then, gets kicked off the teambut then, some stupid spoiled rotten owner signs him to another mega million contractIt won't stop until the owners police themselves. Which isn't going to happen.

Skinner, I PM'd you about Pismo. Looks like we will be going for 2-3 days and staying in a hotelor this trip. Not sure what days, but I'll let you know.
That must sux for your boss to fork out $170 for propaneguess that's one less trip in the lear jetActually that really does stinkand when pg&e bills him, he'll really hit the roof. Friends have them and they are averaging $500 a month for their heatingThey have a new home with all the energy crap in it. But, to many vaulted ceilings and 2 kids who like mine, want to heat the worldthrough the front door.

I heard the same thing about wally charging $5 too. But, the one by me says they don't do atv tiresand all the local atv shops charge $20 per tirehat a rip-off. Next time I buy tires, they will be mounted on new wheels

we should be allowed to clean up that kinda trash, but once again, we're a buncha lefty, socialist idealists, that would rather counsel the culprits and try to make them better humans. wouldn't a bullet not only accomplish that, plus serve as a deterent to the rest of the trouble makers?
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
I contemplated new wheels as well. But that would have doubled my OTD price. Not sure I want to pony up that kind of money. Looking at getting some gear. But I'd REALLY like a new helmet. I got mine before the bike and it was just a cheapie. Be nice to have a nice helmet.
Now if I want new wheels I'll probably have to get new rear tires as nobody seems to make a 9" rim... I'm sure I could find a buyer for the tires, or keep them as backups on the stock rims. Never can have too much stuff.

In honor of this thread, and this group, I'm making my 1,000th post here. I just noticed that I was at 999.
If it weren't for this thread, who knows what I would have done for the last 7 or 8 months of my life. It's been a blast. Here's to the next 1,000!
And oh yeah, Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a Great Christmas DayI know it was one of the best that I can remember

Merry Christmas one and all. so did my spoiled brethren get atv stuff? Hoss did you get that EFI 700? If so, see my previous post about yer wife coulda had twice the man for half the quad!! img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> hey, i heard there were some significant problems with Polaris 700cc engines, but i"m pretty sure it was the non-EFI models from the past 2 years. you being a Polaris guy probably already know all about it. I just read an atv mag that rated the best-in-class 700 to be the Suzuki King Quad!! I woulda guessed the Kawi cuz I'm hearing great things about their 700, and 750. the BIC 450 was the Yamaha 450, but funny, it's due to adding IRS. I have the last year before IRS, and they say last year mine didn't even make it to the top 4-5, cuz of no IRS. I know IRS rides nice, but the parts are MUCHO expensive. and in off-camber riding, I've heard guys complain on IRS one wheel will drop and make it tippier.
so MD, how'd the daughter like the Rap80?? How old is she? It really is a bullet proof, proven unit. we had an '88 Yamaha 80, but it had no shocks or suspension at all. But it was a 4-spd and flew. I wish they'd kept that 4th gear in these Rap80's, cuz they're pretty well exactly the same (except suspension).
well, as predicted, my wife cut a hole in my pocket so I'd have something to play with this year. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> but i hope you guys all got spoiled. kids sure did, but nothing major like new machines.
well, enjoy yer holidays!!

Merry Christmas FBK!!!! Okay, Merry Day-After Christmas...
Christmas was a blast!!! It's always fun with the kiddies. Without them, Christmas would be just another day. It's fun to see thier faces and play with thier toys.
And yes, wifey came through with the 700 efi. It's a beautiful bike, with custom wheels and mossy oak. It's pretty powerful and I can't wait to push it to it's limits (without killing myself). I love IRS...however, it's all personal choice.
I'm hoping to take most of this week off. We have shut the plant down for the holidays, but that's when we do maintenance and special facility projects...so, I guess I'll stop in from time to time to supervise. I'm taking my ATV's to southern Utah (where it's a little bit warmer) this week to go riding.

The daughter loves itShe spent the day at our friends house, who own 3 acres. Been riding it all day. She's 8 and has been riding 5 years. When she was riding it yesterday, it seemed to be bogging downWhen I asked her about it, she told me she fixed it. She wasn't use to the different style of choke and was riding with the choke on. SO, when she turned the choke off, it ran great. Little kid solved the problem herself and without my imputGuess, at one time I couldn't wait for them to do thatNow, I wish I never let it happenthey won't need daddyBR>
I rode it around for a bit, that thing really does haul my butt around at a good clipI know what you mean about the 4 speed. But, for the riding we do, I think the 3 speed will be just fine. I didn't test the suspension out, it doesn't travel all that much, but, I don't think she'll be hitting long jumpsanyways.

If fighting is supposed to be part of the game, you wouldn't get a penalty for it. If a fan tosses something like popcorn at a player, just toss them. If it's a hard item intended to disrupt the game or hurt someone, then charge them. I'm sure you could find something in the law books for that. A fan hits a player, then the player goes to jail. The player was the victim.
I'm talking about the BS that happened at the basketball game. Player goes into the stands. I don't care if you're heckled. You keep your a** on the playing "field." If I was the team owner, GM or coach I'd be looking at the contract to toss him on his a**. It should be part of the contract that you assault a fan, you lose the rest of your contract. Forfeit salary, etc. And you have to endemnify the team, arena, etc.
I've been out shopping a bit today. Wasn't too bad. But I stayed away from the big stores. Except Target this morning around 9am. It was mild in there. Haven't dared to venture into the mall or the Wally-Worlds around here. They are too insane. I'll be there next week to have some tires mounted though (Kenda Klaws all around). BR>
mstr...you going to go play in the sand box next week? Doesn't seem like you are by your posts. I'm gonna try and sneak over. Depends on what the boss says. He's unhappy. Took some friends up to the company condo...someone turned the fsckin heat on before we left...just got the propane bill...$170. Who knows what PG&E is going to be. I had turned it off. Grrr. Nobody has been up there since before Tday weekend.

the EFI is supposed to be great. yep, the vast majority prefer IRS. and I bashed camo before, but i saw a Kawi in camo (same as mossy oak) and i opened my mind and it didn't look that bad. I think it's when the rider is in battle fatigues with the camo i think,"Rambo-wannabee".
man, we need a battery store. One laser tag set= 12 AA, 2 trucks (remote)= 12 AA, 4- 9V batteries for different remotes, 2 special NiMH battery packs for the terrain twisters. and then the wife's special man-replacement toy has a kick start on it and is a 2-stroke!

Hoss, make sure you post some picture new bad boyWe plan on traveling to ride tout, looks like this storm blowing in is going to cover the entire stateRight now, playing it by the weather.
I got a new Shania cd, new dvd and a dvd playerGave up the big gifts, so my youngest could get the Rappy 80
Posted by: confusedbuyer
well MD, it's not like 4th gear is a must, it's just that the original bullet-proof design had it, so why did they go away from it? seems dumb to me, they already had the mass-production set up to make it, why add the expense of the design change, and give the consumer less machine? Probably some plaintiff lawyer driven speed/safety issue. what a shame. now i see they have a Grizz 80 and Rap 80!!
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
Well, I'm going to try and get out and ride this week if I can. Just was lazy and didn't get the bike prepped for the beach. Maybe I'll do that in the am before work. Rained this week last year too!
I did decently well. Bro bought me a set of O'Neal Elements (with Hardware gloves as they were out of Elements gloves). Mom completely suprised me and got me a set of grips (but I have to take them back and exchange them...they are for MCs with one bigger for the twist) and a Motoboss gear bag.
Best Christmas I've had in a while mith my cousin's family. As appropriate for the family, loud toys for the youngest. Walking Winnie the Pooh (she loves it...when it's quiet and doesn't move...it moves and she's OUTTA THERE! She's like 20 mos or so.) And this talking/moving Elmo (he does his name like YMCA). It's cool to see kids have a great time with their gifts.

Yea, they went after the "riding a quad, like dad" look with the grizzly 80 and the same with the raptor 80. Plastic is cheaper to do, then, a whole new line of quads.

where's MD been? Is he still reeling from potty-mouth Toyo, and wondering where to begin to clean up his act?
well, we went on a nice, long ride AGAIN today. i think that's 3 weeks in a row for me and 9 y/o. I led the adventure group thru the tree stumps, deep ruts and roots, while another group went on the logging roads that were more tame. we met up later on for lunch, then rode together to a really cool spot. man, BIG cliffs and drops if you screw up, but some spectacular views. snowed on us a little, we were pretty high in elevation.
everyone busy doing the last minute PSD shopping, trying to find a parking lot where ya can shoe-horn in the big unit?? as this is PSD thread, I must say parking a DRW, long box crewcab really sux. when i put my quad-deck on, WAY worse.

What is wrong with all the places around water that they attract the social dievients. and why is it that people cowtow to their freakish desires and give them special treatment. crap i tell ya. Was that 2 sets of tires mounted on wheels? or just the tires? Doesn't seem like a bad price and that's $220 bucks in your pocket to spend on some more partsActually for the riding you've been doing latelyyou must have the quads running pretty good
