LOLyour not the fruity typecould of fooled me with the orange cover-alls
Posted by: rescuediver
Confused, did you ever get another quad for the kids? or did you shelve that idea for now?
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
Actually those pits are made for wood. They eat charcoal like you wouldn't believe being open. I dumped about 12lbs+ in there to start it. The office manager got this friggin orange sented Duraflame starting fluid...it just oozed out a vent hole and ended up with a damn fire on the asphalt. Give me the real stuff! Ended up adding a couple more pounds about 3/4 the way through as it was getting cooler. Plus I juiced it up 3 times with some hickory chunks.
They actually started selling these things as just fire pits (I wouldn't call 120lbs portable.) I think then someone was like hmmm....good BBQ grill. So they made the long leg and adjustable grill attachments. The boss only used this thing a couple times. Was way to big for just him and his wife. The boss' new $750,000 house is getting a gas grill installed in masonry (the bday boy who's arm is in the pic of me and boss) son is a masonry guy.
The boss' brother-in-law over in Santa Maria (where tri-tips started and just south of Pismo) got one and they cook using oak in it. That one worked pretty good with the briquette bed with hickory on top.

Santa Maria oakDo you use it? A restaurant up here drives down there during the summer to get oak to bbq at the restaurant withHHmmmm HHmmmm GoodBR>

my grill probably weighs 50lbs. solid cast, no holes. in my pic I'm frying bacon, then the hashbrowns go on, then some mushroom/onions,some seasoning salt, then mix egg to hold it all together. we've cooked burgers, steak, chicken, pizza. a real trick regulating heat. I use mill-ends for fire, 2x4, 2x6, whatever, then chop it up to smaller so i can regulate heat.
when done with grill, that washer drum controls fire way better than rock pit, PLUS, you get awesome heat and burn from all the little air holes in the washer drum (well, the holes were originally for water ). great campfire, not too big, but fabulous heat for everyone around it.
pics are posted, plus some of the quad deck for ya MD.
on brat-quad.... I dunno whad I'm doin! I went to the Yamaha dealer to get a mini-grizz. I was trading in the '94 LT160 and the '93 LT80. BEAR IN MIND-all these prices are CDN!! I figured dealer could get $3500-$4000 for my 2. The mini-grizz is $4400 on it's own. I realize he's gotta make dough on trade in, so i offer my 2 plus $1500.I'm thinkin that'll make him over $1000 on the whole deal, easy. He wants $2200. Bear in mind the mini-grizz is tough for them to sell cuz not many folk dumb enough to spend that $$ on such a limited market/use quad. I just felt i was gettin it stuck up my a$$, with no kiss afterwards. wife was mad when I told her, she just wanted new, and to get rid of the other stuff. no business acumen these women. sometimes ya gotta just say no, not good enough......"I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE".
Plus, there's a few chinese makes slowly creeping into our market. I've been reading lots on these in the kids quads section. they started off as crap a few years ago, but they're really starting to make some strides. the Linmax 110, 4-stroke, 3 speed, reverse (shaft drive?-not sure)... is $2000. so i can get 2 for the price of one. WAKE UP big Japanese manufacturers!! It's only a matter of time.
so I'm back to square 1. I'm always looking through our Buy and Sell for used stuff. I do like the LT160. I got it just purring on start and carb settings. BUT, it's still rough. Vibrates with speed. some strange rear end noise like a chain rubbing, but it's not chain (NOT engine noise). I'll hold on to it if I don't get a fair price. It absolutely blows the doors off the Breeze for speed. BUT, my son has a little difficulty shifting (stiff, maybe I can adjust tension??). I like the idea you can add pull start to it (not on the Breeze). I like the gears for downhill, but simplicity of Breeze is nice too, especially for my 16 y/o daughter who is just learning.
AND, I'd like to replace something for the wife. Our '84 Yamaha 200 is MINT for the year. Still starts like a dream. Purrs when it's running.Original tires, very little use over 20+ years. Super light. BUT, no shocks or suspension. a wee bit small for our big behinds. I've been looking at 250cc Honda, 2wd is good enough. the 4x4 type stuff she finds too extreme anyways. so i may go that route instead. Like i said in last long post, I don't wanna spend so much time wrenching as I do riding and enjoying!
and the orange coveralls aren't femmy or fruity, they're mean, tough, manly prison issue!
Posted by: confusedbuyer
ok, the new pics are up and running.
Posted by: rescuediver
Confused, that is a load. Like the way you get all four quads up therennovativeThat ball mount carries that trailer and hasn't bent wouldn't think it would hold up that well. It's way out thereBR>
We have a washer tub, toohey do work greatever cooked on it like youther then, smorseBR>
Sounds like your playing hardball on getting the new quads, take your wife's advice and just get a new quadow many more "we hour" nights can your body handlebefore it breaks downand like you said, more ride time, less wrench timeBR>
And "the orange coveralls aren't femmy or fruity, they're mean, tough, manly prison issue! " LMAO
Posted by: confusedbuyer
the ballmount weighs 75-100lbs. it's 2" SOLID steel. i see lots of extensions, but they're hollow. this will never bend or break. my weak link is where the ballmount slips into the receiver hitch. at that point, it's double walled steel, but nowhere near as strong as the ballmount. plus, i'm putting mechanical advantage on that spot (like using a 2' long cheater bar to help you break loose a bolt. the tourque on that spot is huge. i use the weight distribution/equalizer hitch to help spread the weight.
and don't forget, the tongue weight is roughly 10% of the trailer, so it's only 600-800 lbs on 2" solid steel.
you Quisling! you're supposed to side with your male pal, regardless of what my wife says or thinks. sheesh!i spent the day working on the LT160. new chain. rear sprocket seems okay. front sprocket on order. fixed some loose fitting plastic. found the goofy rear-end noise (it was a seal by the brake drum cover rubbing).
have you ever replaced your rear brake? I'm missing some parts along the rear axle on the right (brake) side. I'd like to know exactly what's supposed to be there, in what order. my manual doesn't show it very well. I'm beginning to think i might keep this puppy. it just purrs. I think i need to adjust the clutch (hoping that would loosen shifting tension??).
Posted by: rescuediver
I understand how stout that piece of metal isI guess, when I look at the size of your trailer, I guessed it to be heavier on the tongue then 600 lbs. 800 lbs. maybe a closer guess. Looking at it close, I guess it's only what 14-18 inches long? And yes, the weak link would be at the hitch. especially if it bounces a lot, I guess, that's where, I think it would bendBR>
Hey, sounds like you like wrenchingforget about buying a new one, you love the misery of working on quadsust like all of usnd, after reading what you have done, why get rid of itthat things, like new againBR>No I haven't worked on the brakes yetwhat exactly are looking for? I'll take some pictures for you or describe what it has. I went to Suzuki to buy a book on the 160they told me they didn't have oneuess I need to search the internet for one

Swweeeett... We could have our own board to moderate!!!11!!! :headbang:
Posted by: confusedbuyer
it's 2 feet long (24 inches). with the dually, you really don't get the bounce. plus the equalizer takes the bounce too, and really spreads the weight.
I have a factory manual my local dealer let me use for a day. I copied the whole thing, so whatever you need, let me know. i posted in the Suzuki forum for the info on the axle. you can look there if you're interested. i don't want to post it all over again. and you'd need to pull apart your right side up to the point of removing the brake drum to answer my Qs (which i obviously don't expect you to do).
ya, yer right, i guess i'm a sucker for wrenching stuff. sounds like you're even worse if you got sucked into buddy's stuff instead of yer own. I may keep the 160, OR, if i do sell, I'll get my wife something like a Honda 250ES ( a 2wd utility type quad).
Posted by: rescuediver
Yea, your right, the qualizer will suck up some of the bounce tooBR>
Thanks for the offer on the 160Dealer told me, they could get me a factory manuel too @ $60USIf, I need anything, I will let you knowBR>
This friend is the one that lets us use their LT80, when ever we need it. He!! we've had it the last 4-5 monthso, I kindof owe it to them. That's another reason to get a 5th quad for the family
I'll check out the kids section. Sometimes, I don't spend enough time surfing the threadsEspecially, the way this thread has been posting, record number of pages
Posted by: confusedbuyer
those are good reasons to help your friend. i don't have any friends like that, that help me with anything, tho i've helped many over the years. come to think of it, i don't have ANY friends i think it's cuz I'm a poor 'lil 'ol Canadian!
too bad yer not closer, I'm gonna sell the LT80 (i think), the LT160 (i think) and the XR70. wife wants me to keep the XR70, but i got a XR80 for Jr. and he seems to be able to get out of 1st gear really good. he struggles with the kick start tho. too much stuff to work on. I replaced chain and adjusted valves on the XR70 today. plus the rear sprocket kept coming loose, so i put on ny-lock nuts plus lock-washers. that should do it. also had to replace right chain adjuster. adjusted all the brakes while i was at it. wife was angry that i spent last 2 days wrenching quads and bikes. told her she didn't seem to complain when we were riding and everything ran well. maybe I'll start ragging her a$$ that she spends too much time cleaning and doing laundry...... hmmmmm, some how that could blow up in my face.

MD n Miss Kitty Sittin in a tree....
Oh my. man so much crap to get started on and wrapped up around work this mornin. I have to say on the poker run this weekend i love to see the lil kids riding the motorcycles and quads. This one lil girl im guessin maybe 11 or 12 was so cute. she was wasting on her dad n uncle on a motorcycle. lil girl riding a 160 honda 2 wheeler i think. she couldnt reach the ground anyway so i was sittin at Check point 5 when they came thru and i asked her how her ride was and if she was havin fun. She was like Well I only crashed like 30 times so it wasnt too bad i about died. then she says. I just hope its not very far back im tired. then once her pa and uncle rolled in dad had to hold her bike up while she started off.. then the lil guys on the quads were rippin it up. like kids 5 yrs old doin 25 miles on lil predator 90s and stuff. i was impressed those are lil troopers.

lol. Oh she was makin fun of em for bein slow when they showed up. and some of the lil guys couldnt even reach the footpegs on they quads they have to teeter over the side to reach and they did 25 miles. i was really kinda shocked that the lil tiny guys could pull off that sorta distance. Mighta been like 22 or sompin cuz the long loop was 32 do to reroutes from logging. but all the lil kids were commin thru with a smile and thats whats important.

well yes, it'd be nice for all kids to ride, but it's just too darn-diddley-doe expensive. altho Rod and Todd love riding the 25 cent motorized quad machines out front of Walmart. a little scary tho.

cool trailer. not bad sale price considering it cost more than double that to build. wouldn't the momentum of the water in the tub cause control/handling problems? how would ya keep the water heated? very interesting design up front. i guess the other 2 quads go on top of the tub, with a cover.
ya, curling starts for me this week. lotsa fun. men's league tho, but the ladies play after. Toyo, can come you come up here and get some of them to do those neat tricks? When Calgary went to the Stanley Cup finals this year (that's hockey for the rest of ya), the streets were littered with top flashing chicks.

LJ, that is a neat set-uput, for practical purposes, it wouldn't work much for menless, of course, I had enough money to buy a toy trailer and then, tow that one behind it

nuthin that a roll of socks sewn inside your pant leg won't fix. apparently it worked wonders for Hoss' speedo.
yep, ice sweepin curling. but i'm a skip, so i just holler at everyone else to do all the work.
I'd LOVE to see ya fix the Canucks, but you'll need to start by fixing the strike. these morons forget they need the US market for the game to survive, yet they're destroying it by striking like a bunch of greedy baseball players.

okay, it's been awhile since we've been on topic. How often does your wife wash your PSD? Mine washes my truck about 3 times to my one. Takes her about an hour or so. Crewcab, dually... don't get any bigger. The roof is an especially ugly pig to scrub down good, and the visor. She always does that foam crap to the tires to dress them up. She even vacuumed it and cleaned the interior this time. I credit myself for the excellent training.
Jr. took the XR80 for a ride tonight when i got home from work. still struggling a little with kick-start, but i showed him how to jump-start off the quad deck ramp, and he got that figured out really quick. Also doing excellent with a clutch. Maybe mama will let me sell the XR70 now! And i found a short cut to our big vacant riding lot, but it requires about 1/8-1/4 mile on paved road (no traffic, dead end). sure would be a lot nicer than loading it onto the quad deck tho, especially for such a short distance. As long as we don't see any police....... aren't i teaching him well at a young age?; how to avoid law enforcement!

Clearly you have trained her wrong. Shame on you, but all hope is not lost. There is still room for salvation.
You have 2 options. Toyo claims to have a finger stimulation seminar that will make all our wives go "oooohh" and "aaahhh", and scream "Oh god". (Personally, i think the secret to Toyo's seminar is that he's been accidentally inserting the finger into the wrong orifice, causing pain, not pleasure). Whereas confused's seminar seems to teach how to get your wife to wash the powerstroke, a most onerous task and lofty achievement. We found Rev. Lovejoy's Sunday sermon was quite effective at getting most of the Springfield women to shout "Oh god!", so I'd opt for confused's seminar.

well ya, but only because you have the magical triangle. hey, i thought it was a privilege to get to wash the PSD?
oh yeah, and women not only remember that sorta stuff, they remeber every little insignificant detail of everything man ever did wrong, or slightly wrong, or whatever she disagreed with, for the rest of his life! the stuff they don't remeber is to check oil level, tire pressure, veh. fluid levels, etc...

AMEN SISTER!!! But when it aint my woman and the other dudes to much of a sissy to tell her to get in the passenger seat she can drive when werenot in the car. well i was at a loss. as i had a suspended liscense at the time. I will drive by myself before riding with most women. I got skeeerrred so bad way back in drivers ed in rush hour traffic and this girl was drivin and she wigged out and just parked the friggin car in the middle of the freeway.

HEY MR!!! I am all for keepin women off the road, Well unless they are driving naked but yeah. when your driving it is not time for beauty school, or brushin your teef, or reading a book or magazine, ITS TIME TO DRIVE and pay attention to the road

Time for a quick "check-in" here. You guys crack me up. Now, when I'M home, I make my wife drive everywhere. I put in about 2500/3000 miles a week in the truck, plus the 210 miles total of commute driving. Let me tell you, I WANT my wife to drive! Lucky thing she's a good driver, cuz there's nothing worse than driving a truck driver around, cuz "we know everything"... BR>
Nevertheless, I enjoyed your string of comments, cuz I used to think like that - before I went on the road.
And of course, what do we do on vacation? Why, we hook up the travel trailer with the ATV trailer behind, and take off driving. Driving is what I love and thank God there's a way to make good money doing it.
Posted by: Whitewater
I can't believe you He-Man-Woman-Haters bagging on women drivers. I'm quite disgusted about alll of your comments. If you would but enbrace the woman driver, then you might find the feminine side within you. I love women and they deserve respect!!!!!!
I know I have found that I love it when wifey drives. I like that nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach and the acceleration / braking movements of my feet on the floor of the car...it's like a calf workout all rolled into one. BR>

For a wash and a simple detail it takes me about 2 hours.. Maybe a lil bit less.
For a full detail it will take me a good 10 hours or more. Of course the work hardly ever shows since we live on a dirt road but that fine. It looks good on the driveway.
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Id still drive. and Hoss your a nutso!!! remember your thread??? NEVER TRUST A WOMAN!!! BR>How can it possibly take that long to wash the truck. my god. I can wash the outsdide in about 10 minutes and Wax it in another hour. Vaccum and amoral the inside and rain-x the windows in another hour. so maybe 2.5 hours with a smoke break or two in there. full detail. Get your hustle on. 75 gallons a minute on the water dont hurt the washing effort either
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
Oh and i got long hair dogs that shed allot and their hair sticks like velcro thats the only reason it takes as long as it does.

You guys are killing me
I know what you are saying about women drivers swear, the next time I buy a car, they are going to have to put a brake on the passenger sidence in awhile, the wife does drive. I hardly ever drive her mountaineer, so when she does drive, it's in that thing. I try to fall asleepI hear, there is no pain associated with deaththis way

There's a local car wash (and one of very few) that will let me drive my truck thru their machines. It cost $8.00 for the worksAnd that includes their turbo vaccumsWhen I'm there, about every other week, it takes me about 1 hour to do everything.

You really should stop talking bad about woman drives before I have to kick some butt in here. Its men who drive crazy fast and try to be stunt men...
Posted by: OneFlyCowboy
easy there queeny. men may drive crazy fast.. but who crashes more when the drive crazy fast? Personal data here of all the people i know. (I know alllooota people) of the guys that drive crazy fast only 1 has put an M3 into a telephone pole (he says he was goin 25 but i would say more like 60 (in a 20 mph corner in the rain)) now all the guys pretty much drive crazy. and of the girls I know quite a number of them and of the ones that drive crazy i know of 6 bad accidents while driving crazy. Numbers speak for themselves. Now i aint sayin that there are women who can drive but even so id be skeered by her too Im scared to ride most people in general and i will not, I repeat WILL NOT ride on the back of a quad with a woman. thats just too much weight over the back tires and they dont steer and flip over to easy. Oh wait I guess if she is facing backwards and i still have the grips img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Well I managed to find myself wasting away 13 hours of my life today in Mendota (or on the way to and from...twice.) Had to come back because the Square D rep screwed up and gave us: wrong fuses for a starter, wrong replacement coil for a starter (fit a 40HP starter we had, but it needed to be in a 75-100HP starter) and umm...wthell was the other thing oh "heaters" (overload units.) Gave us heaters for a different starter (the same one that had the wrong fuses.)
So me and electrician finally got everything all wired up. Fed the new panel from an existing starter that fed the 75HP pump. 480V worked great. We tossed the fuses in to the 480/120V transformer. Nice buzz from the transformer (normal) then it went quiet...fuses blew. Ugh. At about 5:30pm. Next panel will be forgoing the fuses and using a breaker. So I go back tomorrow as the customer needs water.

We've learned not to spend that kind of money on matresses anymore. Bought a expensive one few years back and it was a piece of crap. Even rotated it on a regular basis, to no availe bought a matress at Costco, and it's been 2 years, for what we spent on it, it's worth it so far.

Rescue- Lately, I am quite ashamed at the way americans have been swayed, bushwacked (no pun intended), brainwashed in this election. The media is playing a HUGE part in swaying this election to THEIR side. Stay the F@*K out of it!Dan Rathers pieces on TV, Micahel Moore allowed on College campus payed by College funds libs jamming media polls, calling talk radio, writing to print media outlets, etc.
They have done a great job of getting their views out there for the un-informed to learn and view, without any regard for what is the truth! This has me thinking that the US is being overtaken by a select group or power. Look at all the changes we have seen and where it has lead us to.

I just got back from the North (Prince george, Fraser Lake). Saw a dead bear on the side of the road, then a dead Moose about 20 miles later. Hoss, you really are a SNAG (sensitive-new-age-guy). I see this thread pretty much went to queerville while i was gone with yer chattin about sewing, woman drivers, wearing your sisters underwear, etc..
Now, you guys are gonna start talkin US politics?? Kerry's great! Yeeeehaaa! Not much for you guys to choose from, Bush can't find his a$$ with 2 hands and a roadmap. Talk about someone told what to say by his advisors (Cheney is a smart man at least). Left to his own devices Mr. Nookalure (can't say nuclear) would definitely win a Darwin award.
Anyways, up north everyone drives a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel. lots of Fords, GM, Cummins. Ahhh, where the men are men and the sheep are scared!

Rescue- Lately, I am quite ashamed at the way americans have been swayed, bushwacked (no pun intended), brainwashed in this election. They have done a great job of getting their views out there for the un-informed to learn and view, without any regard for what is the truth! This has me thinking that the US is being overtaken by a select group or power. Look at all the changes we have seen and where it has lead us to.hr>

I fear the battle wont be won with words. it will be a much tougher battle than the north and the south.
I am registered permanent absentee BTW but i am hoping they actaully change our system to be an accountable system. I want every year with my social security statement to know what i voted on. Photo ID at the polls and you votes are tracked. then we can track down and kill the liberals that want to ruin whats good about america.

Confused its all canadas fault
You know all the things the eastern world hates about the western civs is primarily caused by liberals. and thats the problem
Look at how the psychology of any animal works. what they need and respect. These people we are fighting are primitive animals. They respect strength and determination. the only way they will break is when you have them pinned down by the throat and they are pissing themselves and you might show mercy.

I think it's so funny when you ask someone who they are voting for, two things always has happened to me so far.
Bush supporters are proud and will tell you and kerry supporters will say "I haven't decided, I'm not going to tell you, Bush this, Bush that". I havent' to date been told by anyone supporting kerry that they are going to vote for him. Mostly Bush bashing

Ok, I was gonna stay out of the political stuff. Yes, I lean to the left, but that comes from being brough up by a very liberal mother (who's going moderate in her age, esp. WRT crime issues but you'd never catch her voting for Bush.)
We do need some accountability in the voting system. Do we need photo ID, I think *might* solve some election frued. But there are always fake ID.
The rest of your post scares the heck out of me. It would be nice to go back to see what your vote was recorded as. However, it MUST be done in a secure manner. There must be know way to automagically look up a voter to see what they voted on. A receipt should be issued that only shows what a voter voted on, but has no identifying marks. It should have a vote serial number. That serial number would be issued and correspond to the ballot. We already receive these where I live (Fresno County, California). Our ballot system is a "Scan Tron" style system. Fill in the bubble type. The ballot is optically scanned into a machine and results are sent via modem after closing to the elections office. Note: ballot boxes will be driven back to elections office next month do to fear of terrorism. So we'll have to wait up to 4 hours now for results. Rather than about 45 minutes we've been used to. Anyways, we tear of a piece of the ballot that actually has the ballot number on it. These ballots I feel are the best so far for the new generation of electronic voting.
Your last season was exactly why votes should not be able to be traced. You'd feel very differently if things changed drastically.
Now, on many of the other electronic voting systems. Supposedly, a printer is too complicated to attach to one of these systems. The funny thing is that one of the major E-voting machines vendors is DieBold. If you aren't familiar with these guys, next time you use an ATM, look at the logo... Well, they have a division that they acquired and they are one of the big ones who don't want printers. Well, hmm, anyone want an ATM that doesn't have the ability to print a receipt? Not gonna fly. They make out E-voting systems to be this mysterious thing. It isn't. It's a front end unit with a database back-end. And Access (or MS Jet) doesn't qualify as a database, at least in this instance as they have no security.
There needs to be an absolute audit trail. With these electronic systems as the vendors want, there is no REAL recount. Counting is done by just seeing what's in the DB. There's nothing in paper. A virus (most of these E-Voting systems run on some version of MS SQLServer on some MS Server Whatever.) would wipe it all out. And most of the front ends are on MS WinCE or whatever it's now known as (Pocket PC is the platform).
The systems need to be completely audited by outside sources. There are only TWO companies that do this right now. Both are extremely secretive. And many of the voting companies end up doing last minute changes without having been recertified. See what happened in Alameda County in the spring primary. The vendor was fined, that's all. I *think* it was Diebold but I'm not positive. To me, they should be barred for a specified time, say 2 years minimum. That will make the vendors wake up.

Ended up wasting another day in Mendota. More fun:
So first thing I do in the morning is get the correct fuses for this transformer. Fired it up and stayed running. Cool.
I try to "bump" the first motor (to check for motor direction) and BAM. Transformer goes quiet. GRRR. My stupid self wired the controls wrong and got a dead short at a Solid State Overload. Fixed my wiring. Put back up fuse in. $9+ for a friggin 6-1/4A fuse.
Ok, so I get all the contactors/starters working. They are clicking and clunking like they should.
Start up the first motor. 40HP. Starts up beautifully and was wired good. (Motor feeds drip tape covers a good 160Acres @ 1200GPM)
Move onto the 15HP. Wholesale house sent us 35A fuses yesterday cause the 30A ones they sent yesterday were too small. It was a 60A disconnect and smallest they make in that size range is 35. Well, 2 were USED and TRIPPED!
So I skip on to the final 3/4HP (Fertilizer injection pump). Had to reverse some wiring which took a minute. I find out the switch is buggered up. Won't turn after the initial bump for checking the rotation. At least it worked manually hitting the contactor. Took it back to the office and it was just the N.O. contactor we ended up with. Have em in stock at the office and changed it.
Set the main pump to run (then adjust the SSO Relay) and let it running. Should have heard the air in that sucker. Air in a pump (cavitation) doesn't sound good. System runs 1500-1800GPM pushing air out of the lines.
Well, I actually find fuses in Mendota for the pump and all is good now. But another entire day wasted.
Posted by: Trasher
Wasted day? Heck no. You got to spend another fine day in MendotaIsn't that one of the top 10 vacation spots in the world

Oh Come on now. If every voter had a printed reciept of what he/she voted on and it was registered to their name fraud would be allot harder. I have nothing to hide from anyone. I dont care if everyone knows everything about me. have at it. nothin real interesting. Im just some guy. Im so radical though i think everyone should be microchiped at birth and then no need for ID cards they just scan your chip but i know that will take time to come to fruition but its on its way. My dogs and horses are chiped. Why not people? Ohh no the government can track you and blah blah blah. big whoop only people that should be concerned abou that are those who do bad things. anyway I know im scary, dont mean to scare ya but its where we are headed and i believe strongly we should be headed that way. its the only way around all this shady bidness.

No. It's the Cantelope (oh hell with the spelling) Capitol of the world.
It was funny to see a bunch of drip stations that we've done...did that one, that one...oh that's the one with the well on it too. Never doing work for that guy again. Stole like 2 sets of plans (hardware store and pump stations) to have people do work for him based on our plans. We did like 19 stations. Radio remote telemtry and control of station. Could irrigate up to 640 acres (full section, 1 mile by 1 mile) from 1 station (2x75 HP pumps via VFD control.) Those were so sweet.

"If every voter had a printed reciept of what he/she voted on and it was registered to their name fraud would be allot harder."
After the frued has been committed, it's too late. The person would simply destroy the receipt. It does no good to know afterhand. Especially if it takes month or years to find it. Frued needs to be stopped before it's committed.
There are some people who don't want anyone to know what they voted for. I feel that's their right. (the only Rights that you have are delineated in the US Constitution and the various state constitutions.) As do most people. That's why you have a secret ballot. Otherwise, why not just have people walk in and tell someone what they want to vote for? There may be a controversial ballot proposal that someone wants to vote for, but wouldn't for fear of peer pressure. Voter turn-out would also plummet. And one of the basic tenetts of Democracy is the Will of the Majority, with the Consent of the Minority.
There may come a time when people change and don't want other people to know about what they've done in the past. Maybe they were way left or way right and have either flipped to the opposite, or gone to the middle. If someone had asked me, I'd probably tell them, I voted a particular way. But for just anyone, nope. Never know about nut cases.
In a hypothetical scenario a vote happened for a local, state or national level on ATVs. Banned, limited, something. Doesn't really matter. Now, there are some extreme environmentalist nut jobs. So he goes to his local election officials and asks for everyone who voted against the ban. He tells them he's an ATV supported and wanted to thank them for voting against the ban. Then say there are some other issues the environmentalists didn't like. He does the same thing. Now, he starts putting those in a DB. Then pulls out the common names. The person could then be targeted for whatever. And most likely, these people don't care about laws. Yes, it's a slipery slope. But, it COULD happen.
As it is, many public records have been pulled back.
What I USED to be able to get with a few clicks:
City of Fresno GIS info including sewer and water lines, pumps, etc. (Removed do to terrorism. Like I couldn't just drive around. Find the fenced pump with City of Fresno Water Department Well Number: XXXX.)
County of Fresno: Births and Death records dating back to 1/1/77. Still available are recorded documents (land sales, leins, or any other recorded doc.) which just gives you Doc. number and the parties. You still have to request the actual document seperatly. And regular marriages. Birth and death certs. are still available in person. Removed, I assume because of identity theft issues. IIRC no terrorists have come in under false IDs. That was the media scare de jur about the time they removed them.

Aaaawww, waaah, waaaah!you guys had to destroy a perfectly good forum by chattin' politics. hey whadya think of Paul Martin? He's our leader in Canada. A liberal! YOU LIARS!! ya never even heard of him until i told ya. Think anyone up north here doesn't know who Bush, Clinton, Regan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy etc... is/are/were? Can you guys name 2 prime ministers (=prez) from Canada? Who was the first one? (Washington in US)
I don't dislike republicans, I watched a couple of programs, biographies, etc.. on Cheney and came to the conclusion he is a brilliant guy. I think Bush is a moron cowboy who'd be better served writin country songs 'bout Texas. Just the image he exudes, no matter how much they try to dress him up or write speeches for him.
Okay, i promise, NO MORE POLITICS on the Ford forum. I run 100% stock suspension on my psd. seems to have been pretty good, except i replaced upper/lower balljoints way earlier than i shoulda had to. they don't handle much loggin' road.
the folks up north buy a house for $60,000-100,000 (US), with acreage. They work as loggers, miners, making $60k-100k/year. Easy to have toys and trucks under those conditions.
the moose and bear were road kill. it was an average size black bear and a small moose. Neither woulda done a lotta damage to veh. BUT, many moose kill vehicle occupants every year as their long legs get taken out and 1500lb carcass slides up hood into windshield as car is going 70mPH. Can you say splat? Skinner, even the Dae-woo might get rinsed off the Moose on that one.
hey skinner, you didn't waste a day, look at all that technical stuff you trouble-shooted and repaired. I'd say that's a pretty honest day of hard work. nuthin' wrong with that.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
MD: The electrical alone on those things cost more than a fully loaded PSD! (IIRC about 65K for a small 1x 75HP good for 320 acres.) So probably 80K for the big one. Customer thought we were overcharging.
Posted by: BlackandRedWarrior
But I was the one who screwed it up in the first place. Well, ok, 3 fuses. Boss wasn't even tweaked. 3 fuses were like ummm $20 I think. Spensive little turkeys they are. But they saved a few hundred bucks worth of stuff. THe wrong and used fuses really tweaked me big time. Of course there was the wrong coil. The bad switch...not sure why it don't want to work. Looks the same as one that does.
You know you're getting used to the road when you start doing 70MPH on a 55. Nice thing is, you can see for miles around you with cross traffic. It's all relatively flat land out there. Only saw like 1 or 2 CHP and that Sheriff.
But overall I could have been sitting at my desk yacking with you guys! I do have my priorities. We still have some future work to do. Put in the new main conduit run to the new PG&E pole whenever they set that, and wire back to this OLD (like 50+ years old) 75 HP pump. You go out on these farms and it's amazing what you find. I guess if they blow something up it's not a big deal. No buildings around.
We did a set up like this on the other side of the road. THey planted the trees in Jan. Almonds. Trees were about 2' tall max. THey are now 4'-6' tall. Talk about some good ground. Used to be tomatoes which I guess really put a lot of good stuff into the ground. They are planting almonds out there like crazy. Seen a couple of large fresh plantings. At least 2 1/4 sections. So 320 acres. They almost constantly run the pumps. It's expensive (like $4K/mo.) but the results are astonishing. Huge yields. I think the farmer said he got 2x to 3x the yield with drip over old school flooding. Compared it to feast and famine to a constant nibble all day long. Same amount of water though.
The other farmer we did those 19 stations for had a big increase in yield (row crops like brocoli, cantelopes, corn (not sure though) and cotton.) They were running embeded sub-surface drip lines. They had a reduced water useage as well. Lower weeds.

Confused, Went to a auto accident one night, pulled up, blood all over the place, in the car, on the car, roadway, on the passengers, etcWhen everyone was taken out of the car, couldn't figure out where all the blood came frominally, we found the culprit, a dead horse, that was hit in the middle of the roadway, on a pitch dark night.
Creator, I run 33's on my truck with a 4 inch lift and single Edlebrocks on the corners. They ride is better, then my old 2000 Z71'm thinking about going to duals up front. From what I've learned, they help a little bit more, but, are more for the cool look not the functioning. I also run the banks Big Hoss power chip, mine's set at 65 hp. You can have it set, at I think, 5 different levels. It gave me the fuel mileage I lost, when the bigger tires and lift was done. Also, I went with the 4 inch exhaustMy next change will probably be the K&N filter.
Skinner, that's a lot of money for a sprinler systemut, I guess it's cheaper in the long run.
Posted by: rescuediver
Yea, drip systems are the way to goI put them in my planter boxes, weeds went down 90% and the PSD doesn't get overspray from the sprinklers anymore. Now, I just yell at the neighbors when they water my second driveway wish concrete grew like weeds, when watered
