I just built my own with angle iron, sheet metal, and some trailer parts from the quality farm and fleet store. Much cheaper and I got to make it as big as I wanted.

I just bought one of the cheap yard carts from Lowes the other day, and brought it home, backed the Rubicon up to it, made the approprite connection, threw my new generator (East coast guy who went 11 days w/O power due to a hurricane this summer...never again) in the back and went around my house and headed for the shed. No need to tie it down... the weight will hold it in place and not bounce out right? Well, my shed is on a slight off camber.. and I mean slight. Next thing I know, the darn thing has flipped over on it's side... and I am watching that brand new $650 generator go bounding down the hill next to me... and I am all alone on trying to pick that generator back up and get it into the shed.
Moral of the story.... Be careful on how the trailer is balanced, and pay attention to the center of gravity, especailly when loaded. The yard cart is great for hauling a little rock and grass around, and maybe a firewood log or two, but you put something that weighs over 200 lbs up in the air that high, and mix in a little side hill, and you have the great possibility of rolling it.
For those of you who care about how I got the generator back up the hill, I did it the dragginbutt way... Tied a rope around that sucker and drug it with the rubicon up to the shed door, then nudged it in with the front nerf bar... Ain't busting a gut over a heavy box that feels like throwing it's weight around...
Take a close look at what you want to use it for.... You didn't say if you would be hauling stuff, or going camping etc... Sometimes that $600 bucks looks mighty good after you spend a lot of $ on replacement tires, bent frames, dealing with junk axles etc. You get what you pay for.

Allan, I see you are from Portage... I just bought a 9 acre ridge parcel just south of Kendall, which is near Tomah. I am interested in riding areas around the local area... I know of Black river falls... and the cheese trail along teh Pecatonica down south, anything near my property? (Note, I live in Virginia, and will move back "home" when I retire in a few years.)

I built mine, 4x6 out of angle iron and treated plywood. I used some old atv tires, the trailer bounces less with them than lawn tires. A friend of mine has the northern tools trailer, it is nice and is $270. www.northerntool.com

Take a look at the Otter line of ATV trailers. I just bought the Super Express from Gander Mountain. $399.00. It has a 1500 pound load capacity and dump feature. I think they are available at Fleet Farm as well. Alan

im not talking ones to carry the atv, rather to be pulled behind the wheeler. i know there are some good ones out there it just they are too goshed darned expensive. i really like the single axel nichols trailer but its 600 dollars thats what my dad paid for the trailer to haul the atv!!!!!!! what are some good trailers out there??? thanks. MSM1018
