I actualy use a briggs long muffler I got at a lawn mower shop and a VW tip muffler and that makes my 10hp a little quiter

I am looking for a simple muffler to quite the generator down,it's a craftsman with briggs and stratton 5HP engine putting out 3,500 watts.
I heard you can use a lawnmower exhaust but i also seen like a ATC or a atv or bike muffler welded on one..Does anyone know or have you done it,i really need some help cuz i couldent afford a quite one,even to quite it down a little bit.
What are some of the basic things to remember for it to work properly or will it be fine as long as it's not corked too bad.

We just use an old car muffler on our generator. Works great!
