yeah bing, all tundras are half tons. i think the towing capacity is under 8k lbs.

With a 2wd, reg cab, 1/2 ton, long bed, and 3.92 axle ratio, you can haul 7450 lbs with an auto 4.7L dodge. Thats for a brand new one, the older ones had a lesser rating.
You are looking at 7200 pounds for a tundra v8.
These are towing capacities. Dont confuse towing capacity with GCWR, which is the total of all payload and towing capacities.

Is it a 1/2 ton?

I have a 12' enclosed trailer now and my Tundra pulls it up and down my mountain roads very easily. I would like to get a WW or other toybox. 22' maybe? I have overload spring on also. Does anybody have experience with this setup?

I can't believe nobody here has a Tundra and has never towed a toybox!

OUCH, sounds like he could have used a little more tounge weight. I have not seen many Tundras pulling anything. Mine pulls my 12' enclosed trailer great!

HappywithVforce- I was just speaking to a guy replacing a couple of windows in my house yesterday and just last month his friend and he were coming back from Glamis towing a 22' Toy box trailer with a Tundra. The trailer got whipping back and forth and they lost control and hit a guard rail head on. Totaled the truck and trailer but they are OK.
He said the truck was no match for the size and weight of the trailer. Please keep this in mind when making up your mind to pull a larger trailer with that truck. Just becaise it can get it to roll down the road doesn't mean that it can handle the load in a sitution like this one.

with my ram 1500 i pull a 21" trailer and 2 bikes with no problem , i think i am maxed out at about 10,000 lbz..It shouldent be a problem with the v8 tundra, and i also have the 4.7 litre not the 5.4..
