Just finished wrapping up my safety incident report with the consumer product safety commission (CPSC). They are the Feds with oversight on ATV manufacturing safety. At anyrate, 2003 Arctic Cat 300 4X4 gas tank neck cracks along the screw threads for the gas cap. Hairline cracks and large gaping cracks. Causes a lot of fuel to spill on uneven terrain (Duh!! ATVs on uneven terrain, who'd a thunk it?) Any way if anyone else has or is experiencing fuel leaks associated with cracked plastic fuel tanks let the CPSC know at the web site:

AC have had this problem on other models of ATV and Snowmobiles. Tank manufacturer problems rather that AC problems. However, AC say they know of no problems with this modle of ATV and there are no recalls. Do not use these machines if you find cracks or have fuel leaks as the possibility of fire is very high. (See relaetd posts on UTV fires on this forum)
Let CPSC know if you having problems and maybe there will be will be a recall to fix this issue and hopefully nobody has or will get burned or lose their ride to a fire.
