I got my AC 400 auto because the 500's and above all were water cooled and that to me more part's to repair when they go bad , and the 400 frame is the same is ; only a bigger engine and cost $500.00 cheaper that the 500 ! The 400 for me is plenty fast enough for the place's i ride you can'get over 50 mpg without locking it down when come the badest part's of the mountain trail's i ride in north ga ! And went with my brother to TN Prentiss and the speed limit on the trail's and the access road's are the same speed limit , and the forest ranger's and the DNRare out in force to catch speeder ; you never know when you will see them and it's to late by the time you see them ! ................

Thats really surprising, I would think most people have at least a 500. I bought my 400 because it was a deal after it was wrecked, but Im not getting any responses on my hopup questions thread. That surprises me too.

That makes total sense w.b. I sure dont need more top speed, Im just looking to get there quicker! LOL. Frank

I bet you`re right bouncer, the numbers kinda say it. I actually would love a Thundercat, but cant afford it. The 400 I just bought allows me to have 2 quads right now, and I like the light weight and handling.

Get that puppy fixed mark! Where do you live? I actully have just as good or better time riding in the snow in the winter when the temps are above 30. Its a blast! Frank

Oh no!!! You guys throttle it harder so we can stay ahead!!!!!!!!!!!Paddle if you have too!!! Throw large objects in the trail! LOL

After a month I finally got my performance kit in. I`ll be trying it out at 10 - 12,000 feet this weekend. I hope it works good, I hate to hock the house for a thunderkitty! It sure is a solid machine. 3000 miles and still tight. It used to be a rental.

I have an AC 400 and it runs great! I've run it in the foothills near my hometown and in the swamps in the lowcountry of sc. Never left me stranded!

I would be willing to bet that the 400 class meets and exceeds the requirements of most peoples needs. There will be a few that want to fly(usually you get to meet them in the middle of a corner or coming out of a huge dustcloud)but probably the 400 is the class that suits most. Just a guess, not looking to get crucifide here, just my thoughts.

Congrats on the new ride, you are going to like it. If you bought new, it will seem numb for a while but it will get better. Breakin seems to take a while, it did on mine anyway. I bought an 06 400 auto holdover this spring, got almost seven hundred miles on it, not a lick of problems. Very solid machine. Probably the single most thing you might want to invest in is some good 6-ply tires. Badlands are kind of a junk tire imo. They do the job,(as long as you can keep the air in them!),but there are much better tires out there. I put on some mudlites.......night and day difference.

I got the 700 just because my dad was buying, and my brother in law has one and dad didn't want to be out done!! I traded in a 400 on the 700, and the 400 did everything the 700 will do too, just not nearly the top end and not as nice looking as the new one!! LOVE THE MACHINE!!! 700 LE!!
