I wouldn't think so. I get almost that from 1 gal. if I take it easy. If I go easy I can get between 20-22 mpg. However one time I was in really rough going and was in low-range I only got about 4 mpg... went about 15-17 miles and ran out (I think it took me about 5 hours or more too). But I was up to my belly pan in slush/snow and really hard going (low-range 3/4 to full throttle just to move 2-5 mph.
But under normal conditions you should get way more than 23 miles on a tank of gas. The very lowest minimum would be double that. Were you in low-range and 4 wheel-drive?

Or do you mean from the time you switched over to reserve you went 23 miles. If that is the case then how big is your reserve. If it is one gal then that is good if it is 1.5 gal then that is marginal but ok at 15 mpg.

Could be you are just from Winsted

That doesn't sound too good. I have 4.8 gal tank and if I take it easy I can go between 100 and 120 miles.
Sounds to me like you are only getting 4 or 5 miles per gallon.
Is your machine an automatic or manual. If manual are you using the upper gears or staying in the lower ones. Also, are you in low-range and not in high-range.
I know these questions sound dumb but you say it is running fine but can only go 23 miles from a full tank before having to switch over to reserve. That being the case then your reserve is only good for about 7 miles. So you can go about 30 miles total on about 4.8 gallons. Not to good my friend - sorry to say. Something isn't right that is for sure.

Taking it to the AC dealer is a good idea. Good luck and I hope you get it fixed soon. The season will be gone all to quickly.

Just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of gas milage you should get on a tank of gas from a 1996 Arctic Cat Bear Cat 454 4+4?

No,I filled it up and drove it and I got 23 miles, then I put it on reserve to get back to reill it up again. So I am getting 23 miles before I have to use reserve. There are no gas leaks and the bike is running fine.
