Look at the sticker on the left side of the frame by the clutch.
Tells you all you need to know.

Yep, the one on the frame.
Not going to able to remember it exactly with out looking at it, but I think the first line is, Manufactured by Suzuki Motors.
Regardless of the wording, it is an LTZ with different plastic.
Nothing wrong with that. Heck I got a better deal on my KFX than the Zuk dealer 3 miles away.
Plus, it just means there are more parts out there. I'll check all 3 brands when I looking through ebay. Some are shown in all 3, some don't know that and will only list the part in it's respective brand.

I never looked close enough at the DVX. Is the side panel a seperate piece from the tank cover?
It is on the KFX. While it's nice as far as getting to the plug, I ride up close to the front of the seat, and have my knees right on the plastic. That little ridge wore a spot on my knee this past weekend. Had the legs off on the zip off pants. A smooth piece wouldn't have done that.
Don't even know if that can even be considered a problem. Easy fix is don't ride without my pants.

They are the exact same quad, except for plastic.

the dvx did not get the updates that the z400 and kfx400 got in 2005....so if ur going for that year model, bear in mind the z400 will be better...

yup exactly the same motor wise, just plastics, headlight and seat are differnet...If i could do it again i'd get the z400....i hate the dvx plastics...its all one piece and you have to take the ENTIRE plastics off to get at the spark plug or carb, and when the plastics are off their is no place to put the battery so i had to make a lil box to fit the battery in so i could ride it without plastics to test my jetting. Pain in the A$$!!! compaired to the kfx or z400 that has gas tank plastics that can be removed instead of the entire thing
dealer gave me nerf bars, hand guards and was 500$ cheaper then any kfx or z400 i could find so i had to take it, I still love it! plus 2 year warranty

i agree w/ every1 to.in a race it would all depend on the rider weight and expirience.

Just a little curiouse what is a better quad the dvx-400 or the z-400. I've rode the z-400 but not the dvx and am wondering if their is actully much difference in the engine and performance.

Yea, new DVX 400 owner, been riding for a few weeks trying to find a flaw, well I finally found one when I did the break-in maintenance, why I did not ask the dealer how to get to the spark plug, never would a thought it would be this much a hassel.
Well looking at the plastic I wonder how hard it would be to make it a 2 peice, I'm thinking towards the thin mid-section part, cut it and add a screw, its ironic there is a spot on the frame there to drill a hole to add one. Anyways this would alleviate having to take the rear part off which anyone who has done this realizes it is the most painful part because as prev poster says you got the battery box to deal with, not to mention would be allot easier to take just the front part off the machine.
The trick would be making it look right obviously, but food for thought. Since I broke off two screw silos under the plastic during this tune up I will certainly order up new plastic under the warranty, so mabye I can play with this set... oh well a job for Fall, need to ride now... that part of the DVX 400 I have no complaints.

Not sure which one your referring, there's the safety sticker on the fender on clutch side but I think your referring to something on the frame itself? Only ones on the frame some government stickers and some other garbage...

Yea, actually same reason I bought mine, cheaper, pretty much same machine as z400 without the powder coated frame nor the bigger seat, but I thought the Cats looked cool too
I'll check out a Suzuki sometime closely, look at the frame and I bet that spot on the frame I mention earlier is used to bolt on thier front plastic...
