i find my shifter feels gritty not smooth sharp is it me my bike or is it normal? it starts in cold weather but not well .Do can I tune that out or do I have to live with it ? I personally find the rocker shifter awkward ,more used to the toe shifter so I tinkered with it and stumbled into a simple mod that made a big difference (except under load shifts) anybody else done some tinkering with this????

to tell the truth I cant think of anyone i know with a 300( I guess there are many around but the folks i know all have the bigger bikes ) so Icoudnot even guess at this one..The mod was stupid simple. Now the works for my old and size 8 1/2 boots so....I welded a piece of 1"square tubing 2" long (HORIZONTALLY) to the heel of the shifter and a small piece of flat bar under the toe part. As it turns out the heel piece changes the angle of my foot enough to make up shifting easy so that my stiff ankle does not whine about toe shifting.Worked for me let me know if it works for you.
